Had to work for that one. Roughly 1km walk round trip then figure out the puzzle to access container. Very nicely done! TFTC

16-Dec-23
Parked about a kilometre away due to nightworks, but worth the walk for a very unique spin on a familiar attachment style ^_^ signed the log and replaced as found; TFTC!

Definitely dont recommend this one at night currently - lots of roadworks and I spent forever trying to find a park because of it Eventually left the geomobile and after arriving at GZ the cache was soon in hand - very clever! TFTC!

Fantastic concept, loved it, quick find today

What a cool cache! Took us a while to get to the cache though. It turns out that even though Casula is the closest train station, there isn't a direct route to walk from there. But we got there in the end and then began our search. A short while later, we discovered something amiss and soon had the cache in hand. Really well thought iyt and crafted cache. Thanks!!

Found It!
I've driven past this spot many times now, usually on the freeway underneath. Today I found somewhere to park that wasn't too far away then walked back to GZ. I found the cache after a short search, there's quite a bit more to it than I was first expecting though! Great hide!

Certainly one of the most fun caches I've found! I'm still new to the game, but hands down the most creative one I've encountered. TFTC

30-Sep-21
Definitely one of the best of some great caches I've seen. I love that you need a tool (provided) to get it. Respect for hiding something so large. Very well done!

I came here several years ago and had no idea where it was. It was time to have another look so carefully scanned the logs and thought I cannot miss it again.

Parked the car and walked past Kitchener House which is looking in poor repair and the gates of Yulong Oval where I came to by train when I was in cubs .... many years ago.

Let the GPS settle and was in the right spot and had a look and quickly found it. Several years of caching have got the suspicions working properly.

All is good with the cache and a favourite for sure.

Thanks Cheeky Cachers for keeping this one going. I think it is one more for my 360 degrees challenge as an added bonus.

We were nearby doing the Georges River PT so drove by to have another search. Of course, we were well prepared this time, after reading logs. Brought a Tott to help gain access. A very well made cache. A great use of spare parts. A FP.

We had a good look around but just had no eye dear. Too well hidden for us. TFTH

Off the South West Motorway at Moorebank, on the trail of the lonesome palm...

This cache was a bit of a journey for me. I was heading over to the Sutherland GIFF event tonight so I had a quick look at the route for an interesting cache or two on the way there/back. This one stood out on the map without standing out of my way.

My first issue was that the industrial area parking was gated and I wasn't confident that the gates would be open when I returned. Since I was there I stopped at the back of Kitchener House and had a quick look around. It's in a bit of disrepair these days, it looks like its been a while since it was occupied. Anyone interested in the house should look up its Office of Environment and Heritage page.

My next issue was that the footpath alongside the industrial area was partially fenced off. I found a spot to park on Bapaume Road and once there was a gap in traffic got to the unfenced footpath easily. On the way up I got a look at the front of Kitchener House, which is in better condition. All this and I hadn't gotten to the cache yet!

I spent a while at the coordinates looking at the obvious options, then a while down the slope just in case. Then some log reading until I was sure I'd been in the right place to start with. As is often the case, something that I had noticed but not thought about to start with turned out to be the clue. A bit of extra force got me a result and I enjoyed the clever tool provision. As I signed and replaced I wondered if any of the passing drivers could see what I was doing and were confused.

Log me and leave me, let me be lonely, you won't believe me but I like being lonely...

#5039 (3 of 3 today)

Decided to head to Liverpool for a few finds around a bit of shopping. Got three with one DNAttempt, including a previous DNF.
Can't complain!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Decided to finish the day with this previous DNF. Pretty sure I know what the hide is, so brought a tool to help if like last time there are retrieval problems.

Parked around two corners in the industrial area - oops, forgot there's a road even closer - and walked to GZ.
And on the second attempt... well it didn't do that last time!
Easy find. No tool required.

Signed and replaced, then back to *The Hademobile*.
Nice to have the frowny face expunged!

Time for home.

Revenge! After a failure last time, this time I managed to get it lose and euhm. What? Aha. And to extract the container. Sorry ants, this is my toy! TFTC!

20-Mar-18
Parking in the closest driveway it was a short stroll to GZ. Thankfully we only had to look at the lone palm from a distance. A 2nd check and then it was CIH. But hang on, we needed to do one more thing to access the log. With that done we were on our way home. An interesting placement with many muggles passing by but they would be oblivious to this hide. Out this afternoon with Brewmaker finding some caches around Milperra and Moorebank. This was out third on the list.
Parked the car not too far from gz (only slightly illegally) and then it was just a short walk up. Read the hint, which helped a bit, but after a quick search we still couldn't find the cache. Where could it be? Read a few past logs and then I had an idea. I went back to the first place I looked and searched with more thoroughness for that type of cache hide. And then - aha - there it was. Then had to do another search to get the log - an unusual and interesting structure - a variation on a theme I've seen before.
Signed the log and then replaced it all as found. Then it was back in the car and heading on home. TFTC Big Grin

From a friendly friend I knew where to look at, but they're all stuck!!!! I'll try again in the summer when the metal has expanded a bit.

Thanks for the latest log- we understand your comments, will try and get to GZ to assess
Thanks

Being near we headed over to see what this one was about given the favourite points and the D 3 rating. Parking looked to be an issue until we found a little side street to the south and then walked up. A quick look around and thought lets try this and was onto something. A closer look and had something ready to go and guessed what to do to extract a well thought of hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC. A favourite point from us.

Headed out early today to try and beat the heat with this cache as my first goal. As I exited the M5 I saw that lonely palm and knew exactly where I'd need to come back to. Parked the car about 300m away, found a permanent marker on the walk (for logging at Geocaching Australia) and soon arrived at GZ. But that's when I started to get stuck, mostly in spider webs . I thought I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for but still, somehow I made it harder than it needed to be, with more spider webs in the mix. Stepped away from the GZ for a bit and then I realised there was one spot I hadn't searched. Ta da! Very well done, I enjoyed this one once I wiped the sweat, which was now building, from my brow. Replaced cache only to look up and see the most enormous cache guard, glad I didn't disturb him . Thanks Cheeky Cachers, have a fave point.

23-Jul-16
On a secret mission here today for a souvenir. Parking is of course the only real issue but once I got a spot sorted out it was a short trip to GZ, cache located quickly enough and like everyone else I liked how it was put together. TFTC!

Last time we attempted this, it was impossible to access the cache - it was a really hot day and I think thermal expansion was not our friend. Today we returned for an insta-find of this clever variation on this type of hide.

A clever hide and an easy find - when you can get to it! Our last visit wasn't quite so successful. Great container! TFTC!

My 4th visit but really only my 3rd search. I returned to the site of my last search and this time found a more easily moved piece of camo than on my last visit. The cords were extremely accurate.

2/4/16. 4:50 PM. Cache #3698. Streak day #650.
6th of 7 finds (+ 3 DNFS) this afternoon - Liverpool & Moorebank.

Noticed I'd slipped down the rankings a little (a paltry 8 finds over Easter when others were out getting dozens or hundreds will do that). So i wanted to get the weekend into gear with a few finds in an area that I've barely scratched the surface of - the outer southwest. If I'd known I'd get so many DNFs today I might have rethought where to go.

After a DNF at "Hung Up", I looked at this and saw that there'd been a few recent DNFs and it was 3-star difficulty... hmmm we'll see. Parked at the near end of Bapaume Rd and had a reasonable 280m walk to this cache. The satellite photo suggested that I ignore the palm altogether and stay on the southern side. Plenty of generous hints from the CO in their log from March last year, gave me enough of an idea...but will I need tools? Doesn't budge, doesn't budge, woohoo jackpot!

I've seen a few of this type of hide but a few parts of the construction are quite unique! I opened up the container - no log inside! I signed the back of an old receipt and rolled it up to be the new log - fits fine. Replaced the cache and continued on to "Mail to the general.". TFTC.

TFTC best cache of the day.

My second try for this one. The signal had me away from the palm this time but a widened search gave no joy.

09-Dec-15
This morning I was attending the funeral of a friend's father in Cabramatta, so afterwards, having also
caught up with a few other ex-work colleagues who also attended, I got into some caching clothes and spent a few extra hours down this way grabbing a few caches.

In the end I grabbed 11, DNFed one and confirmed a previous DNF was MIA.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
And here was the DNF of the day.

Parked just off ANZAC Road, and walked the 400 odd metres to GZ.
Checked the obvious but no joy.
That left me with my next likely type of hide, but just didn't manage to get anything likely to budge. Eventually gave it up. Oh good, another 400 metres back in over 35 degree heat...

Reading recent logs when back at the car with the aircon running made me think I was onto the right idea. If I return suspect I'll need to bring some heavy duty tools...

Found it shit yeh!!!!! This was a 1.30 am find with Dwight Schute & AreWeThereYetOrWhat after coming from the city , fire brigade pulled up asking if we were ok, sent them on their way and after the instincts and a small bit of strength kicked in .. Bingo! Nice cache and effort to match TFTC Smile

30-Jan-15
Pretty sure we were looking in the right spot but no sign of a tool and couldn't access where we were confident the cache shouldn't have been.

Saw a total of zero koalas.

TFTC

30-Jan-15
No joy here and, after a paf, the cache location was confirmed but we just couldn't get to it. A muggle came after a while asking if we were looking for a koala as one had been reported nearby but he soon left. We'll be back...

29-Oct-14
Almost gave up on this clever hide until I saw evidence of previous catchers scratching around. Loved it and worth a favourite point.

Too tough for the Savoies this time. I think we found the 'tool' but the cache....too hard.

I didn't notice that this cache had been disabled. I rocked up and found it and was able to fish it out. As per previous reports the log is a bit tatty to say the least. I have left it in a situation where it can be retrieved. TNLN, SL. TFTC Cheeky Cachers

09-Jan-14
Took me 2 visits to find this one. Very clever. OC may need to visit this one soon. Log is a scrunched up mess and retrieval tool seems to be broken as i had to fish it out with great dificulty. TFTC

09-Jan-14
I am temporarily disabling this cache until I can get to GZ & attempt to rectify. Thanks to 1nvestigator for letting us know the condition of the cache, we appoligise about the state of it

21-Nov-13
"Hadn't I already tried there?" I thought as success came. Nice cache, thanks.

01-Oct-13
Very creative and an awesome find!

01-Oct-13
Really creative. One of the best hidden cache I've run into

14-Sep-13
Epic. On approaching GZ we were stopped by police officers asking what we were doing. Felt like a tool but llama_boy fessed up and said "geocaching". They smiled and went on their way (they must get that a lot??). Then it was onto the cache. Reading soupbones' log I knew what I was after but couldn't seem to retrieve the tool. So I gave up. But llama_boy noticed something fishy and concluded we were in the right spot. So back to the car to get yet another tool to retrieve this tool. Tool retrieved I thought "oh no this won't work" but llama_boy knew how to use the tool and the cache was retrieved. Hurrah for an awesomely simple yet epic cache. Here's to tools-I mean teamwork!

14-Sep-13
Very creative geo. Bit of a dodgy location with so many cars passing by (the police even stopped to see what we were doing). Luckily geobuddy raindoctor had some tools to help us get this cache, as it was a little tough to initially get in to, but a fantastic idea! Thanks!

31-Aug-13
Found this on my third attempt. Worth going back for though. Had tried the hiding place both times previously but should have used a little more effort. Thanks to xelanhoj and noodles22 for their help.

30-Aug-13
I found this geocache using the Geocaching Intro App. TFTC!

13-Aug-13
This time I further away so I had time for a thorough search.
I looked, considered and passed off the hiding spot several times before having another shotwhere I found the bounty.
Great hide and ingenious camouflage.

31-Jul-13
Stopped off to make sure there is enough room in the log for the August streak, plenty of room & cache is in good condition

15-Jul-13
I looked around for a while but could not find this sneaky cache so I guess that I will be back at a later day

04-Jul-13
I had looked and looked and looked for this... Twice. Not wanting to be beaten asked a forum member for a hint. Thanks to mrryanmurray for pointing me in right direction and for assuring me I was on the right track
