Found with StreetWalkerNZ on the last day of our four day trip to Oamaru and environs and time to head back home to Christchurch, via the scenic route .
We had driven past this cache en route to Weston on Thursday, but it was getting dark and anyway, there was no parking on that side of the road. After finding this cache, we back tracked to take a scenic but lesser traveled road to SH83. TFTC.

#18324. Had to do most of a circuit before a likely covering object. Nice wee container. TFTC.
Not much room to park but a fairly quiet road today. Travelling and geocaching with Kiscardi.
Thanks on a trip with my sister NZ Bozzy to our auntie’s funeral in Christchurch- made a plan to grab some caches around here that we hadn’t found on previous trips

Quite a busy road. I'm not sure what the passing motorists thought I was up to. I took the longer route to get this one but it was a 50 50 chance as to what way to go.
Day 7 - of our epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. With Geofest17 and Danseys Pass and A2O bagged, we are off exploring Oamaru again
Another snag and tag on our way past. Cheers

Another trip to Oamaru, driving randomly around to fill in the gaps, a few days after the OamaruGeofest which, for Taybeedragon and myself, is no where near over yet.
The dragon and I did a challenge cache this morning, but she does not qualify for it yet, needing just one more D/T. So now we are heading off to the skyline trail to get that missing D/T and that meant coming past here. And stopping, of course!

Shocking find here, for K.J.R at least. Otherwise all went well. TFTC. Found with Gadget and K.J.R
Another busy Oamaru Geofest day.
CITO first followed by some town caches.
Then tracking north to find all the ones I didn't find on Friday.
Now heading SW again to make new discoveries.
A quick find here.

Up in Oamaru for day #2 of the Oamaru geofest. Out with Sirbennis and KJR grabbing lots of caches. TFTC
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. Finally we have made it to Oamaru and after a shower (1st in several days), a decent feed, and it was off to find a few more caches locally before calling it quites for the evening as we have a big day tomorrow to try and get to a point whereby we all get to acheive our individual set goals.

In Oamaru for the Geofest.
Day #2 out and about with Gadget169 and sirbennis.
Nice quick find but alas I made a bit of a boo boo and while feeding the friendly cows I got a bit of a zap from the electric fence! TFTC

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 4: With the lack of sleep starting to take a toll we finished Day 3 off early and got a few hours sleep before getting back to finding about 2am this morning. Todays mission was to find caches around Tekapo before heading South through the Mackenzine Country via Hakataramea Pass, and onto Dansey's pass before coming out on the coast and heading to Oamaru for the Geofest and caching around the area.
With our names on the log book at Geofest, our bags checked into our accomodation and our bellies full. What else could we do but more caching!!
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

A nice big piece of pine. The view is also nice. All is good with this one ... **TFTC**
Found on another grey day. Haven't been able to get this one as we always seem to be towing something and too difficult to pull over. TFTC
Just enough room to park at the cache site, the view from here is beautiful. TFTC.
Took like longer than it should have . Had decided where it was before I got out of car - wrong!!!
Another quick found for us during our trip around New Zealand. Tftc from Switzerland
Farmer moving irrigation equipment around in paddock below but safe to grab cache. TFTC.
Car trouble got us to to the top but now have to head to service area to fix us up.
Probably easier to park going the other way but luckily we drive an appropriately disguised caching vehicle that doesn't arouse suspicion when parked in 'unusual' places and also lucky that the road was very quiet today. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Found with Chosen1978. 1st find of day up the hill overlooking the waitaki valley. Great views awesome place for caching. TFTC
Lovely day for exploring the area, and views... argh just love it, Found with Granville86a
Just enough room to park up and have a quick search of the Old Man Pine. He soon gave up his secret and after signing the log and up lifting the TB I was on my way.
#992 - Yes there is a place for parking... but it's very small for a campervan. But it's possible... then we started to search the cache, while trucks are driven by... an other cache-thrill. We founded the cache and quick back to the campervan and away, so the street is clean again. TFTC.
We nicked into town for groceries....may as well grab a couple of caches too.
This was a revisit...quickly found, how did we miss it last time.
Thanks Mr Bitsprayer for the cache.

Bit of a scramble to get, falling right into depresses in the ground that couldn't be seen through the masses of long grass, but a find nonetheless! Thanks.
Saw in the logbook that another cacher had already been here today. Awesome view, cheers.
Another great day out geocaching in Bitsprayer land!

Nice view in the morning, a small frost up here was slowely making its departure. TNLN Thanks
A quick find on a big caching day from Christchurch with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.
Got lucky I think. Hope I'm not using up my luck too quickly for the day! Nice glimpse into the valley.
Thank you for placing this cache.
Thank you for placing this cache.
It didn’t take too long to find the cache, at a pleasant viewpoint, as multiple trucks travelled up and down the road. TFTC
A nice spot, really enjoying my trip in the area today.
Many thanks for the placement and reason to visit here.

Yes parking was a bit tricky but no cars went by while I was there so I could have left the mirrors out after all. TFTC.
Wow - crazy driver came round the nearby corner just as we were pulling over. She was a crap driver. Cheers Gav [9852]
Set out a bit later this morning because the frost was so hard, hopeful that I might get lucky with one or two. Got to GZ and after a bit of a look aroung found an empty logbook to sign so FTF!.
This tree has had quite a chequered past over the years and I am glad to see someone has finally removed the car bonnet that was embedded in it.
Thanks
