Did Not Find this Cache with FUF009 at 12.08pm

We looked all around for this but could not find it. FUF009 who was with us, had found it back when the mega was on and he told us what we were looking for. He even looked around everywhere with us but unfortunately it just wasn't there.

It's a shame to see what sounded like such a good cache, has gone missing. No doubt taken by someone.

This one was a DNF for me today. I think the cache may of walked a little or been mugged.

Sadly The Welder and I were not able to make it to the Rutherglen Mega, sometimes the stars just don’t align. But we unexpectedly ended up with some free time today and although Rutherglen to too far for a drive today, we thought we would head back to Whittlesea and collect some more caches from the last Mega we missed.

It might be weather for ducks, but there was no duck waddling happening here… but rather in big Welder strides, a claim of the prize like he knew where it was! Great size cache. Thanks for the hide.

I came over to Yan Yean to look for a *gadget cache* that is now back on line... and took the opportunity to look for other caches in the area. As my car was in real need of a wash, I wasn't concerned about heading down dirt roads for some caches...

Very early in my caching history I came down this road to find this cache... and didn't even stop because of a big bunch of muggles... a lot of time has passed... and a lot of water has gone under Duck Bridge since... so toady I decided that it was time to return here and finally have a look for the cache. No muggles today to worry about... made for an easy find.

Thanks **AmyGVSL** for the cache.

The Whittlesea Mega has been on and off for a long time due to that rotten COVID-19. The sad part is that due to MND I really think this could be my last Mega but I am in the area for a week thanks to my two great SA friends who travelled from SA visiting Ballarat for a couple of days and then moved down to Geelong only to pick me up and we are staying in Craigieburn for a week and then they are taking me back to Geelong. It’s generosity like that Geocaching folk are renowned for, plus all the help that I have received in the past few days and weeks which I will be forever grateful.
This guy was found, signed last November 2022 with my two SA friends who were looking after the ageing Bushfire.
Thanks for placing and looking after this cache. I am slowly getting a few more of these caches logged but for how long I really don't know depends on the body.
The good news is that my MND while progressing a little slower than it could so I am working on going to the Rutherglen Mega. Time will tell, thanks to AmyGVSL for placing this cache.

We headed out today for Fleabag- to place a cache he needed to place and to then head over to Whittlesea for some unfinished business we had there. It started off with on and off showers when we left but gladly it soon cleared up.
I forgot all about these Showgound multis while at the Mega so we were back today to do them all and happy to say they were all found exactly where they were supposed to be. Took 3 trackables from them to move along.
Stopped here along the way to find this nice big cache.
Thanks amygvsl for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Cache found and log signed with dalerious Razz.

A weekend away to Whittlesea, then onto Melbourne for two events on the Sunday was on the agenda.
We were looking forward to getting out and about as usual, and like always had quite an extensive list to keep us busy Cool.

Things didn't quite go to plan to start with, and in hindsight, we are sort of glad for the change to plan B, as the weather turned wet and cold, and it was a much more enjoyable day finding caches with no huge walk involved.

Grabbed this big green duck on the way through to a mystery or two Big Grin.

Thank you AmyGVSL for this cache.

Well that is s pleasant surprise. Cool
Such a quality container so accessible to the roadside.
We sure hope it lasts there well into the future for other cachers to enjoy too. [^]
Both catnap777 and I enjoyed finding something a little different while working our way through a couple of mystery cache trails. Razz

A return trip to Whittlesea to try and finish off a couple of the GeoArt series. Picked a great day, perfect weather, nice quiet roads and some great caches.

We had unknowingly passed this cache, so with a quick U-turn, we parked nice & close to GZ. Always nice to find these type of containers.

Thank you AmyGVSL for placing and maintaining this cache.

I am definitely not the close to my home base but here I am some distance away but enroute to Melbs yet again. I didn't have a chance to chase this down at the MEGA so this is my own solo event this evening - probably fortuitous as the sunset is sensational. Apart from that I'm on a multi mission for the months of Jan and thsi is a nice getting older cache. TFTC and the FuN!

When we started driving down this dirt road there were cars everywhere all headed in the same direction. Two of Murphys Laws are:

1) no one else be on the same dirt road when your car breaks down, and

2) every man and his dog will be traveling on the same dirt road when you want to get out and find a cache.

Somehow all the cars had stopped passing us and we weren’t sure where they had gone. Once again our party invitation was lost in the mail. tftc

Whittlesea Mega Trip Day 4. The second day of the Mega was a day for a whole bunch of Canberra cachers get together and make a mass effort on the TWC puzzle caches and any other caches that are on the roads we pass along the way. A huge effort had been put in by everyone in the team to solve all of these over the past year or so. There were several cars and our full group was Kitty Katch, Joolay, Barb2e, Isopeda, Dt773, Tankengine, Youban, Aquilus, Grayhams, Sol de Lune, LuckL10n, Smitten Granny, Contesta, cosmonaut97, Nibletricecakes, Gliss!, Fitzy_1965, MinnieK & I. We signed each log as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group. After grabbing a coffee at the on site vendor, we headed off and started tackling caches. There were some very rutted and wet tracks, a few trees that had to be cleared and even a walk or two. There were a few highlights, I will mention those in the relevant cache. It was a long tough day, but we made it back for the farewell event and a chance to get something to eat.

Thanks for the cache amygvsl

Hello - what are you doing on this lonely, dusty road? Just hanging out and waiting for visitors? You must have had a fair few over the past couple of days. Fortunately none flew by while we were signing the log as we weren't exactly off the road. No ducks today for us.

Last full day of caching before heading home.

Throughout the weekend we signed as fitzy & minniek, F65 & MK, MAFS, WCCG or similar depending on who we were with at the time.

Today we cached the TWC with our friends from Canberra. Unless otherwise mentioned, all caches were found quickly and easily.

Find #6736

Great to be picking up some of the many puzzles and multis solved over many months and trips, as well as collecting some letterboxes and trads and whatever else was in our path. ??????

Today were some joint finds with Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group and signed WCCG. Caches in good condition unless otherwise stated. Many are the worse for wear from all of the flooding and wet weather events.

Thanks so much amygvsl for getting us out and about, and for the adventure highlights around Whittlesea. ??

A quickish find while in the area for the mega. TFTC

20-Nov-22
Today was tiring, very successful and great fun. It was a joint effort by the group solving all these puzzles before we came down. Today was the day that we decided to go out and find them all together with some traditionals, letterboxes and multis as we passed them along the chosen route.

As I said it was a very successful day with no DNFs and all logs were signed as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group. Well everyone had lived in Canberra or nearby at some stage and it was great to join up with those who have moved on - without our permission I might add.

Big thanks to all the COs for the placement and maintenance of all these caches that added to the fun and excitement of the incredible MEGA.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) crew went on a MEGA adventure. We all managed to get a 5 day weekend so we made the most of our trip out of state. Our main targets were old caches, different LGA's and those that have lots of favourite points plus of course the MEGA and all the caches put out in celebration
Thanks to all those who have placed, hosted events and kept all the other caches alive for us to find.

Day 4 of our Mega Trip. After three great days of our trip this was to be the biggest day plus heading home. The Canberra Region Cachers gathered for coffee and food before heading out to tackle the TWC, Letterboxes, Beginner Puzzles and anything else along the way (and there were a lot). Next cache of the day. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks AmyGVSL !!

Whittlesea Mega Wobble and Wade Tour: Day 7: Mega Day. Do the gadgets and hit the trails. Surprised

Once again myself and Anymules were in Victoria on our way to a Mega event. Wink We made a detour via Geelong and picked up Bushfire. It had been three years since we last all cached together. quick find.
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was to Victoria for the Whittlesea Mega. We left thrusday morning and came back monday We targeted as many Vic LGA's on the journey there and back plus trying to get some extra's around the " melbourne CBD ". A few letterbox D/T's that don't exist in S.A. where stamped and selected D/T's in victoria for our fizzy grid only using victorian caches ( 11 to go before this trip for me ). Where possible old caches where targeted in the missing LGA's ( 2000 or 2001 ) or caches with high fav points. This filled holes in some of the teams Jasper grids. The recent rains caused localized floods that caused a few road closures that slowed our team down and meant we didn't get all LGA's targeted, we where also slowed down by the parks that have turned in to marshes with the rain. Also one tree was climbed which was a record low for the team. It was good to catch up with some teams we have seen for many months or a year or two at the mega and meet some new teams as well.

20-Nov-22
The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) have hit the road again, this time heading to the Wittlesea Mega event caching along the way. We had various goals that we wanted to achieve on our 5 day road trip concentrating on old caches, LGA's, unusual D/T combinations and caches with lots of favourite points. [^]

We covered a lot of ground and had a fun time touring around Victoria. We also really enjoyed the Mega and caught up with lots of people, some we hadn't seen for quite a while. There was plenty to see and do at the showgrounds and we managed to fit events, labs and the maze while we were there before heading out to find more caches. Big Grin

We were lucky with the weather, which turned out to be much nicer than what was forecast and we were able to get out there and find the caches we had targeted. All in all a great 5 days. Cool

Today we stayed around Whittlesea finding as many of the TWC caches as we could and others we came across on our travels. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache AmyGVSL. Smile

20-Nov-22
Thanks for bringing us to this great location. We were cleaning up the caches we had solved from WPB series and came across this one. Actually, came across a bunch of cars stopped on the side of the road which is always a dead give away when there is a MEGA on.

Found the cache safe and sound. LS. Thank you AmyGVSL for placing this very generous cache.

20-Nov-22
Found with bdiaw. It is nice to come across other cachers whilst caching in this area. It is even nicer that after a small conversation with one - they left a pathtag for us on my car even though we don't have any of our own yet to trade! So humbling and we were so grateful for that. Thank you again to them - you know who you are! Great place for a cache here, so relaxing listening to the running water and frog songs. No sign of any ducks though.

20-Nov-22
So it's the time of year again when the Victoria Mega is on, unfortunately could not make the Saturday so just a Sunday adventure.

Woke up super excited weather seemed to be holding and not too much rain forecast.
Drove up from Melbourne and met fellow cacher BackPaqer to start our day.

Started with the quick easy cache across the road, then onto the GPS maze, 12 caches completed and it's only 9:15am..
Next we started on Gadget Alley and completed 12 before heading into the main building to complete the Mega sign in
and get my picture with the frog to complete the locationless cache.
Also managed to swap a few path tags.

Next we headed for the Whereigo and the Multi in town..
Then onto some Mystery caches we had solved before the event.

Back into the Mega area for the Angry Mob cache and a few more lab caches.
Then a drive around to pick a few more local ones up and then it was time for the farewell meet up.
Leaving the event we found a letterbox cache and a virtual.. and finished up the day with an Earth cache on the drive home.

What an awesome day

Thanks for the cache and the hide

#16894 - 8:32:00 AM; Up early and on the road with Sol de lune ahead of a full day of caching planned for today. First stop was the showgrounds to officially check-in for the Mega and meet up with the rest of the Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group (WCCG) before we set off to collect a couple of power trails. Apologies for the largely boiler plate logs. All caches were found without incident (although at times the antics and efforts of our interpid cachers were rather amusing), and they were all in unsurprisingly good order. All logs were signed WCCG to evidence our visit. TFTC amygvsl Smile

Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73, youban and a whole bunch of other Canberra/ex Canberra cachers on our Whittlesea Mega trip down south! We had dedicated today to collecting as many of these caches for which the puzzles had been solved prior to the Mega (and a few others) ... After last night's storms and much rain, it was lovely to see the sun again today! Mind you, almost everywhere we went was flooded, and it didn't take long for our shoes and pant legs to be completely soaked! Some lovely caches/locations amongst these! Signed as WCCG (Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group) - Thanks heaps for the cache!

We signed as WCCG - Whittlesea Canberra Caching Group, which was comprised of barb2e, Joolay, Kittykatch, albida33, fitzy_1965, Minniek, Nibbletricecake, Gliss!, Cosmonaut97, Silverfox71, Firebatman88, Contesta, DTY79, Tankengine, Youban, Greyhams, SolDeLune, LuckyLion10, SmittenGranny, Aquilus1 and me.

Sorry for the generic logs, but we moved so fast, I just couldn't log on the run. We managed to get back to the closing event.

Thank you for all the puzzles, multis and trads.

Coops and I spent the Saturday at the Whittlesea Mega event. It was great to catch up with many caching friends and spend the day attending the events on the day and managing to find a few caches as well. This was one of the few caches we found.

Sorry for the generic log.

Ilukaperi, Nakarra and myself thoroughly enjoyed our mega weekend, despite the weather. We camped away from it all at Anderson’s campground and headed into town every day. From smashing out some power trails where we worked together very well, as always, to the maze, the puzzle rooms. We had a ball. Thankyou to all those who placed and maintain these caches for us to find and to all the volunteer hours to run not just the mega, but all the satellite events as well. Brilliantly done.

The mega weekend crew consisted of myself, my sister Nakarra_L, day1976 and my blue Jimny.
We camped at Anderson's Gardens campground which was really nice as there weren't many people around with the weather forecast being what it was. We headed into town every day, about a 30 minute drive, but we weren't getting back to camp until fairly late each evening.
We had a great weekend, racing other geocachers along the dirt roads, and each other, to finding the caches.

Enjoyed this cache. Attended the Mega then headed out in the company of Dromaniax, Neville_Devil and Sims_Family.

A range of cache was chosen, and off we went to catch some smileys.

The weather was a little unkind to us, but when has a little moisture hurt anyone?

With many of the caches, the finding was made more accessible by looking for the multi-lane geo Highway, which we have noticed is quite a feature of a MEGA.

We found this cache in excellent condition.

Thank you for this cache AmyGVSL.

After much planning and waiting, the time had come to head south for a few days to attend the Whittlesea Mega.

So, with the car packed, the convoy consisting of us and Rapidlywild hit the road. Our plans for the weekend included grabbing this series as well as others around the area.
The Victorian weather was interesting, definitely agree with the four seasons in a day, but it didn’t dampen our plans too much.
Apologies for the generic logs, thanks to all the CO’s for the placements, we had a great time solving the puzzles and collecting them and many others along our journey. Most if not all were stamped with our FFLL and RWLD stamp.

A massive storm was only just holding off as we were on this journey and it managed to hold off just long enough for us to finish tonight's caching good timing as the sun had set as well. Just as we finished the heavens opened. So onto munzee instead.

After briefly attending the evening event at the MEGA, we felt that being around that many people was going to do our head-in, so we headed out with JTreeTrack2, Sims_family and Neville_devil to see how many caches we could add to the swag for the day.

Find # 11324

Found with sharkiefan.

Mega time but this was just a day trip.

With lots to do, cache wise, we focused on the ad labs and the beginner puzzle series and the days events.

Catching up with mates from far and wide, even some I havent seen since pre covid, it was great fun having a few jokes and getting to hear what they had been up to.

Out from the oval we tackled the other labs, walked a dam wall Smile stumbled across small gatherings of fellow caches looking for puzzle finals or just trads.

All in all we had a fun day .

We were on the trail of beginner puzzles and grabed this one while passing. A great little find

Today I started with the Welcome Event, then we did the GPS Maze, followed by a caching drive around with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Tassie Trekkers and WhiteWebbs

Thank you for the cache.

All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"

November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.

The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!

Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.

At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day

Thanks for the cache.

OOOHHH, my favorite cache container [^] We were at the wrong sitde and wrong end of the bridge to start with but soon made amends.
Thanks amygvsl

Today we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and Mrs Whitewebbs to make a start on the TWC series, the maze and attend other events. It was a busy day!

It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Tassie Trekkers, Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.
Thanks for all the caches.
