Have been wanting to do the bugs series for a while. After a short SWH run stopped off here.
Found 3 out of 4. Stomped through the grass and hoped any lurking Joe Blakes would slip away.
The grass had been mowed here, just not quite enough near GZ. Glad to make a quick find and get back on the path.

Today we took a drive to Byford to pick up a few caches,
that we had missed on a previous visit.
Started the day with bugs, and found 3 of the 4. The green spider didn't come out to play today,
so we hope to come back to find him later.
Many thanks for the caches, Allied Pranksters.

Really enjoyed this series and a fitting one for International Geocaching Day. Quick find (and only find) by hubby. Nice walk but with the wet grass came home with very wet squelching shoes and wet jeans!!! All part of the fun

Found pretty quickly but geospouse ran away pretty quickly too and left me to fill in the log solo. Will watch this area with interest as it becomes more developed.
An annual leave day to spend with Percival Mastiff while he is on school holidays. We decided to head to this short series before heading into Perth for the afternoon. All of the caches were easy to find and quite creepy creatures. I am pleased that we tackled these in the cooler winter months, the grass is quite long in places and I dare not think of what was lurking underfoot.

The slowest find of the series for me. Granted I did have a slithering fellow to contend with! There was no going back to the bike for a pen; iphone out, photo of cache taken, and I hightailed it well away from long grass. TFTC AP.
Found @ 17:31!
Find #14 on a day of geocaching around Oakford!
Find #4 of this series after failing to find a few 'Oakford Stakes - Apache' caches!
Easy to spot the object at GZ!
This was the only cache that required me to wade through long grass, so was on the lookout for slithery creatures...
None found, but was glad about the location of the cache - nice hide!

I was a bit nervous walking through the Joe Blake territory on the approach to GZ, but got there safely and arrived at the correct end of the object ... however, it was only after I did a complete circuit, looking high and looking low, that I discovered the spider's lair. Nice hide ... a fav for this one! SL. TFTH AmstradKid
The grass was at least 4 foot tall around GZ, with so many places to hide, no clue given, and the warmer day I final gave way to caution and called this one a DNF after hearing some movement in the long grass near me.
Have been wanting to do the bugs series for awhile and seeing as though I had nothing else planned this arvo, I managed to convince hubby to do a few caches with me.
We loved the walk, very relaxing, except when we had to walk thru the long grass as a bit paranoid about snakes now that the weather is warming up. We never saw any, so all was good.
Finding the elusive orange spider was taking its toll as the grass is extremely long here, so it took alot longer than I would have liked but hubby made the discovery in the end.

Don't know how this series had slipped under my radar until today. After doing some pretty heavy trekking up through the hills, thought we would finish off our day with this fun and light hearted series. Loved them all - some were easy while others were a bit trickier, but got them all in the end. Thanks AmstradKid
Enjoyed the bug hunt. GZ is definitive; just keep looking into the right places. TFTH, AmstradKid.
I was in the area today doing the AP series' and after finding 032, I noticed there was a big gap before 033, and this series filled in that gap nicely, so I crossed the road and walked over to find this cache.
I found the nice path leading up to GZ, and only had a short long grass section to contend with, which was a bit uncomfortable, but I braved it.
A very tricky hide for me, I searched in a lot of places, and read the previous logs, and I had to round the entire log probably 3 times before I finally found the cache. Very happy to have made the find!
Thanks for the cache and series AmstradKid!

Batteries were running out of GPS but luckily a quick find and on our way to the next one. Thanks for good series
I really didnt want to go through the tall grass for this one, but I put on my brave cap. A quick find, but I struggled to get the log out, as I hit it against the wood I spooked a lizard which then ran off, which in turn made me the geo cache scaredy squeel. Then feeling even more uneasy ran quickly through the tall grass. Wont be forgetting this one for a while Thank you.
[:(!] Went with geowife on a late afternoon of caching, arrived at GZ and had the bug in hand in a matter of minutes SL TFTC
After completing the nearby Tour de Tonkin series we headed here and completed these buggy caches. We didn't have any problems locating the cache. Another nicely done series of microcaches AmstradKid. Thanks for the hunt.
After having another fruitless search for the Green Spider I hoped to have better luck finding the Orange Spider, and maybe a clue on how to locate its cousin - and there it was, large as life, happily sunning himself. The pleasant walk continued. Thanks for another nifty cache AmstradKid.
Out caching after the morning 11-11-11 event.

Took the hard way to this one through 100mts of long grass, walked out on the path. (Duh!)
Found by Miss Lbjezza (soon to be Mrs Lbjezza) in a spot already searched by others in our team. Loved the cache!

Out caching after the morning 11-11-11 event with FelixII & Lbjezza
After successfully completing K & C new series we took up the Challenge for this one.
Was put off a little by all the VERY long grass, but marched through it anyway.
Only of find it was actually hiding a very good path !!!!

Haven't travelled along this section of Thomas Road often but today we were on our way to Armadale for a caching foray and took the opportunity to grab a few along the way. Will return one day to finish the series.
took a little bit of a search, eventually tracked it down....then sat on top of log and enjoyed the sun for awhile....another great spot....thanks AmstradKid
Came by to do this cache series that I couldn't do when they were published. I came to this cache first as I couldn't see how to get to the scorpion and decided to walk along the path starting from where it meets the road in.
Had no trouble finding the cache but the lid came right off and I couldn't see where it landed so signed the log and put it back without it. Sorry about that as it seems all of the lids have become brittle, except for scorpion, but the others I managed to keep hold of so the other caches are OK.
Thanks for the cache.

As per my log the cache container is now without a lid as I lost it when it broke away from the container.
Took a bit longer to find this well hidden cache but we found it. Signed the log. TFTH
Today, I had a couple of spare hours from dropping youngest Geoson at work, only a short, 15 Km detour, and I could clear this series. Arrived at the GZ, having found the Scorpion, I had a better idea of what I was looking for. Several possible spots, but one stood out slightly different, and there was the orange arachnid. Log removed signed replaced and the bug returned to its "natural" hiding spot. Thanks Amstradkid [^]
Found by geomum who has a fear of spiders. I could not even go near it. Found it from a little distance. Geodad signed log.
We had a very nice walk through this area today following along a little behind Trevared, dogs and family. Enjoyed the series greatly and reccommend it as suitable for the younger Geocachers (who love insects). TFTC
Looked in one of the obvious spots but didn't see first time. Went around again and found it. TFTF
An easy find, after searching all possible hiding spots, These are a nice set of caches, and it is nice to see the different types of caches. SL TFTC
*FTF* two Bugs down three to go!!!
I was at home mowing the lawn and came inside for lunch and saw the ‘Bugs Series’ so decided to take an extended lunch break. Word out on the trail was that AmstradKid was not doing any more series; just goes to show you can’t believe all that trail talk.
I can highly recommend the ‘Buds Series’ although if you don’t like big creepy crawly then you should give it a wide berth.
Thanks AmstradKid.
