Logs
Found but logbook soaked so no writing in it... Needs to be dried and waterproofed...
This cache needs a new log as it is sopping wet. I had trouble signing it and unfortunately I did not have any paper with me.
After the Breakfast Event it was time for a zoom around a bit of East Auckland I haven't really cached in before - so lots to choose from. Thanks all, for placing the caches!
This one took a while due to the stealth requirements necessary... A lot of traffic along the main road on a Sat! Managed it after a while by stealing quick looks during breaks in the traffic. TFTC.
Found easily and fortunately it was Sunday so Highbrook was deserted. Dropped off a trackable, the first of many around the Highbrook area today

I can't help but agree with the cache name. I thought I was going to be an easy find but I did have to check a few places before the treasure revealed itself.
Wow they are big poles. I haven't seen many of those in Christchurch. A nice walk too.
Jd found it. This was the last one we'll do together as his conference starts soon.

Went with 2 others as a distraction point found it and sat around like we were having a catchup and stretch .
As he has another week of holiday,Steed has driven up from Hamilton to do a cycle by clean-up of this area. I'm logging from brief notes he made. This was no. 2 around here, although he collected some drive-bys on the way up too.
Time to revisit Highbrook! A few more caches since my last visit, and great timing on a Sunday morning with only the odd person/car around.
Pole big, cache present, tick on all count! TFTC!!

Quickly hopped out the car at the lights. Approached it from afar and spotted the cache walking towards the pole. Not having to linger really helped to not seem suspicious in this exposed area. Nice hide!
Note: The lid needs some reworking. Had no tape but it seems the hinge has broken and it doesn't stay on. Log was dry when signed.

A bloody big pole, bloody hideous things I think. But still there is a cache there to be had.
While MrNZT had to work today, i was given the mission to get 10 caches today. I Dutifully downloaded a plan for the highbrook caches but the weather did not cooperate, squally showers and the occasional down pour and I was soaked through! Made this find quickly as had been to other bloody big poles previously. 2/10 done! Marched back to the car but could not outrun the black clouds and the resulting downpour! I must be mad to be out with the pukekoes!!! TFTC
Pulled in to carpark to collect this one, but quickly had to distract the kids and do a runner when we realised what was going on in the car beside us! Looked empty when we pulled up...but NO. Haha. Aptly named.
It was Father's Day so I got to do what I wanted to do. Naturally this meant collecting a few caches . This was lovely walk with a quick and find. TFTC!
Found while out for a Sunday walk ... Decided to head out late morning as the weather was predicted to turn nasty again later on in the afternoon. Parked nearby & were just looking to get some steps done as the previous 4 or 5 days had been wet & not conducive to getting out & about. Nice easy find with little traffic about. TN:LF:SL. TFTC. #596 for us.
Very busy road so I probably looked very dodgy but a pretty quick find, TFTC.
Found as part of stik-a-crane now logging under my own name. I was there to help make the find but wanting to create a map and history of my own unique kind.
What better way to keep your mind off food and hunger when starving yourself for 40 hrs than to go in search of a few geos and get some exercise bike riding ...
after dong the 'rounds' we made our find - now to return to a big pole that we couldn't make a find on earlier in the day to see if our find here helps us .... #183

Busy day on the road nearby but approaching gz could see the cache sticking out so casually took a seat, signed log and returned it to its hidey spot but just a little further back so it won't get muggled.
Thanks for the hide...
Thanks for the hide...
I missed it on the first loop around, but spotted it embarrassingly easily on the second orbit. TFTC.
Very quick find made by one of my brothers. I think he spotted it even before reaching the bloody big pole. TFTC
Had been creating an orienteering map of this area and had a few minutes to spare before dark. As usual I tried the wrong side of the feature first, but had the cache in hand quickly. These poles definitely feature on my map.
A quick park, cross, grab, cross, and off again grab after braving the Christmas crowds at the mall. Thanks!
Us and a couple of other cachers decided to try and clear out all the caches in Highbrook. Step one: find a day when we are all free. Step two: pray that it doesn't rain. Surprisingly we managed to complete both steps!
This was our second cache, found it even faster the first one . Quick find with ftdbur and phscomike.

Found this one whilst in the area signing off a couple of puzzle caches. Those are sure big poles.
Took us alittle while, but got there in the end. Clever magnet idea. It is a bloody big pole!
Up here today with Nova Lightning to see if we can clean up a few caches to try to meet our own challenge that we set ourselves to achieve by the time the MEGA rolls around.
Wandering around the area as usually too many courier and forklift drivers to retrieve these without being noticed. A nice little find without difficulty as the early morning fog tries to clear for a great day of caching

Had planned a 'big day' with Cats&Dragons and we were trying to collect 50+ caches today.
It was an early start to the day (5.00am) or for steve just a normal start to the day. We headed up to Auckland and started clearing out the area.
This was a nice easy find before heading off to the next one.

Here I go , starting on my pole mission ! Was out here anyway , on a group walk ....
Cache was quite far back and only just managed to reach it. Not much traffic around so didn't have to worry about muggles
Extremely muddy and lots of muggles out in peak hour traffic! It was very well hidden so I put it back exactly where I found it
We had to come out this way so thought we should give it a go. First claim to wasa.
Out for the afternoon with Missfeez and Naana7, we made our way through the park, collecting some finds, little dd we know at this stage was how many of these bloody big poles we were about to visit. TFTC.
Quick snaffle on the special day
Didn't think I was going to get one as busy busy today... but happened to be driving by and figured I could spare a couple of minutes to park up and dash to the pole and back
TNLNSL... TFTC!
