Wet and grotty in the inside....couldn't write on paper...but found it. Tftc
We have travelled to Huntly especially to get the Eyes series and get some caches for the Hidden Creatures adventure. we stayed in Taupo Friday night then headed off early Saturday morming for Huntly and along the way we decided to get a cache or two this was the second cache for the day. It was a nice quick find here today we signed the log and placed it back where we found it cache was all good here for us today. We are travelling with fellow geocachers so we have a joint log. (2BWCBB) stands for 2 Bulbars Watcache and Blenheim bear. Now off to start the EYES series. Thank you for placing all these caches in the area. We never had a reason to come this way up North until our fellow geocachers invited us on a weekend trip away. TFTC
We joined up with a team from the BOP and Merlot58 to collect caches for the Hidden Creature souvenirs. Signed the logs as BOPnJAM to save room on the log. Thankfully this one was a quick find with the prickly surrounds.
Out for a day's caching with Team BOPnJam. What? there are lakes in Huntley!!!!
We went for a wander around the lakes and the rest of Huntley and found what we could find, only a couple of DNF's for the day, pretty happy and not so late night.

Out caching with Team BOPnJAM. The aim of the day was to clear as much of Huntly as possible.
The caches brought us to many places I never knew existed and finally I found out where the Huntly Speedway is.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Another big trip planned this time in an effort to obtain all the Hidden Creature Souvenirs. Team BOP (Davidson clan, McJandals, Frogybecaching, TNXPro & myself) joined with a couple of Westies (Jag50&Merlot58) to fill up the van and clear Huntly off the caching map We signed the logs as BOPnJAM for expedience and to save on log space.
A quick find but very prickly. Lucky we had a fearless frogy with us and together we soon had this one done and dusted. Cheers Cats&Dragons, TFTC.

A crew from BOP and Jag50 and I teamed up to become BOPnJam and hit Huntly to get numbers for the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. The weather played nice for us and we had a pretty successful day with only a couple of dnfs. No problems with the find here
Out for the teamBOP and some Auckland Westies team JaM . Had an awesome day xlearing most of Huntly and the pick up 52 trail then back into Hamilton for a few more caches finally make it home at 10pm in time for bed. Great day with the team.

With Hidden Creature souvenirs up for grabs. A plan was hatched with our Westie buddies. We were all ready for a stormy rainy day but the weather gods were good to us today with no rain until getting home at 10pm. A fun day was had by all and many thanks To all the COs for giving us a reason to come here. We had a nice mixture of cache containers, types, DTs and hides. We signed as BOPnJAM to save room on the logs. Please excuse my cut and paste logs in advance due to numbers. Cheers
An easy find but not such an easy retrieve! I removed some of the offending gorse to enable a sign of the cache. A very prickly situation.
Glad I could see this one as there was prickly stuff to navigate. Cache wet but waterproof paper so good to sign log. TFTC
On my way up the line for a week of r&r and stopped for a couple of nights in Hamilton to pick up some caches. Completed the nearby power tail and decided to collect some Huntly caches. GPS bouncing around a bit but got my hand in the cache in due course. Might be a bit of a tricky retrieve during summer. TFTC
a good thing this has waterproof paper as the whole container was wet inculding the log container, tftc
Quick park and grab for me tonight, luckily, since I had had a few failures earlier. Decided to carry on up the road to see where it would take me but this was my only success on this road tonight, TFTC!
Out and about in Huntly today taking advantage of the nice weather to collect some finds to add to the tally. I parked up close by, crossed the road and was soon at GZ. Cache was exactly were I thought it would, making for a super quick find. I think that brings me to my third find in this series. Cache was a little damp. Now to see where this road goes to. Cheers for the cache placement!
I had decided to go to Huntly Speedway for the season opening night. First I found out where it is then I checked for nearby caches. Yipee, there’s one at the front door so to speak. Leaving in what I thought was plenty of time before the 7pm start it took me 50 minutes from Auckland to the Speedway turnoff on SH1 and 45 minutes for the last 1-2km from SH1 to the Speedway. I was late so no geocache before the event!
The venue was full, with me on the inside, and they turned people away. The night was packed with fast cars, thrills and spills, and spectacular fireworks. Then it was time to head home.
I couldn’t see the point rolling my way back to SH1 one in a queue of cars when I could gainfully fill my time finding a cache by the light projected from my GPS screen so I headed to GZ. Felt a little silly whilst in view of the traffic, but it was dark and I was wearing a black jacket and beanie so not really recognisable. Once I was at GZ I had to search on my hands and knees, because of my limited light source, and I doubt anyone could see me.
Finally had the cache in hand. I only had a pen that didn’t want to write on the waterproof log and I couldn’t see very well. I think my log is pretty untidy. Cache replaced and headed to my car, not many making their way to SH1 now and it seemed like 1-2 minutes to the highway. Thank you C&Ds for helping my first visit to Huntly Speedway a memorable one.

Having been in Hamilton for the Easter Bunny event, I was now heading home, doing a few caches in Huntly that I had missed when down here in January.
Glad I'm not heading south, traffic is crawling, if not completely stopped.
Quick find - nothing happening up here today. TFTC

I wasn't aware of this racing track being here. That's what I love about caching ... it takes you places. Apart from getting a few blackberry scratches on the legs ... all good here.
A big day of caching today... We have plans to clear out a few caches around Huntly, attend our event in Ngaruawahia... and most importantly, have A Night of Terror in the Hakarimatas. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I have started early...
There was a bit of confusion over which side of the road to search. Gap remembered it was on this side. I half-heartedly searched the other, even though the iPhone gps was pointing in that direction. Still empty handed, I decided to have a much closer look and found the cache. There was a bit of water inside, but the log was fine. TFTC.

FInding the cache was not a problem. More of a challenge was to get down with my feet without stumbling as it is still not 100%.
The cache was wet. Even with a bottle in a bottle.

Have been down this road many times to the racing track but never thought to look for caches nearby. Wouldn't do this one on a race night though, would look very strange. Dazzie did the hard yards here. TFTC
We spent some time searching the wrong spot but then widened the search area and soon had the cache in hand. Container was pretty wet, so we emptied and dried it before returning it. Yay for waterproof paper! On visiting this spot we decided we would have to bring our boys back here in the summer to take in an event. TFTC
I had to wait for the rain to stop before I went for this one. It even hailed for a little while. TFTC.
Having finished the Kiwi Art Project, we headed out with KiwifruitsNZ to grab a few more caches in the area. Another quick find while gathering information from the waypoints for The Huntly Tour multi at the same time. TFTC
Having finished the Kiwi Art Project trail, Vamber and KiwifruitNZ headed out to secure a few more local Huntley caches.
A quick find as we also secured further information for another waypoint of a local multi.

Didn't hold much hope of finding this one as there hasn't been a log for awhile, but it was quickly spotted. The log was a bit wet, but being that plastic-ish paper you can still write on it with the right kind of pen.
Nice quick find while passing recently to view the lake. Neat to get a smilie here. Sorri I'm a tad late logging.
Found in the dark, containers full of water and not sure our scribble will be legible! TFTC!
No problem with this hide other than all the water I tipped out of the cache and the log container. Thanks very much Cats&Dragons
Those long stretches of yellow "do not park" lines make you realise how busy it must be on race day. A quick find. Left a vintage car, sorry no stock cars in stock.
I LOVE this place! Bogan central. This place is so much fun on racedays, and if you don't want to watch nutters smashing each other in overpowered trolley cars you just watch the people.
This place is *GREAT* on bonfire night! Basically they give some of the guys tens of thousands of dollars to buy explosives. Deranged petrol heads, stock cars smashing each other and explosives? What could possibly go wrong? It may not be the most artistic firework display we have ever seen but it is by far the loudest! FANTASTIC! An annual fixture in the family calendar.
Oh .... the cache ..... yes ...... easy find. Thanks.
Did I mention how much I liked this place?

A morning in Auckland and a detour on the way home, meant for a few caches.
Found on the side of a desserted road!

This was the sixteenth find for the day with Cats & Dragons. Planning on collecting all the caches in Huntly today between the to of us. TFTC. Is always quicker when you have the cache owner with you hehe
Trying to clear the last of the caches in Huntly and Hamilton.
I love night caching
Nice easy find.
Made Candiestriped climb down the bank... HAHAHA

Was on the way to the snow on Friday afternoon, and collecting caches while there was still sun! This was the 7th one of the 17 I managed to do this day.
Hmm... I manged to find the cache, but not sure it is in its correct location?? It looks like perhaps another digger has gone past?? Or it was muggled?? Cache was completely exposed, and though there was a more logical spot a few metres over, it was just sitting out in the open. And was drenched too.
So then, I replaced the cache, though in the same spot, I covered it up with some natural camo stuff, and it should hopefully be a bit better off now. May need checking up on though ae.

Due to the actions of a great mechanical device (Drain Digger) the GZ is GZ no more. Please Note the change in Co-ordinates for this cache has moved the GZ by 40meters.
Coordinates changed from:
S 37° 31.873 E 175° 10.962
Coordinates changed to:
S 37° 31.888 E 175° 10.941
Distance from original: 136.3 feet or 41.5 meters.
New GZ to account for workings nearby

After a 2nd DNF called in here on the way home from Auckland and yes I can completely understand why no-one can find it. A little cosmetic work with what looks like a drain digger, complete removal of the GZ and a replanting with more trees has desimated the site.
Not to worry, I have a cunning plan, I will replace the cache over the next few days so then you can all race to your hearts content.

First geocaching endurance adventure for Geomatt123 and I, we loved it . Had a good five minute search around but no luck for us. We could not quite make sense of the hint
Picked this one up as we were heading to Taupo/Rotorua for a romantic weekend away.

I can imagine it would be much noisier on race day...soooooo quiet here today. TFTC
There were some words spoken about the nearby cutty grass, but all was forgiven once the cache was found. t4tc
Camo no longer stuck to lid, so cache container does stand out a bit. I had no glue sorry or would have re-stuck the camo.
Nice easy find - with the camo off the lid it kinda stood out...! FOund camo nearby and placed it back on - I doubt it will stay though. TFTC!
We decided to head dowm to the Waikato to do some cache huntimg over the long weekend. This was a quick find but we had to pick our moment to grab the cache as it would appear that there was a race on today. TFTC.
Gotcha..........thank goodness its a bigger cache. Good to find one in a nice spot and a decent size. Camo cover is loose but placed on top still safe. TFTC and the view.
A quick easy find at the Coal Pit and we are Racing on our way towards a 50 finds day. Thanks.

Quick find. Camo had come off the container lid, but otherwise cache is fine.
Quick find here as the cache was a little exposed due to the fact that the camo had nearly fallen off the lid. Signed log and hid a little better for the next finder. TFTC!
This is my third MSS cache. That is a big hole across the road.
Cheers for the cache.
