I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi bumandworker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Righto Bum, 3 years and 3 months since the last find - time to hit the terminate button.
We spent ages here (again) and it’s definitely cache rubbish. Time to free up the realestate.

Found this back on 18/1 but forgot to log it! Took the 3 kiddies here on the ferry for my birthday. A fun day trekking along the rocks finding all sorts of treasures along the way.
Scrap my last ‘found’ we hunted for this one but no luck. Meant to post ‘find’ for light house geocache
Maybe tired after a long walk but had a search and no joy. Others nearby found recently so suspect dnfs not logged. Needs co check.
Unfortunately Haven Life wasn't much of a haven for us today. It was our first stop having got the boat out to tick off some Boulder Bank caches. But, after more than half an hour searching we had no where else to look and no cache.
What a stunning morning. In Nelson for the day due to work time to walk some serious miles and see this sea side city one more to go then the walk back been at it just over 2 hours now
We had a fantastic day in Collingwood yesterday - so whats on today. Was to be biking Motueka but a generous offer of a boat ride from Bullertrout changes things. So we are having a great time, out in a dinky boat around Nelson Harbour, with Bullertrout for a few hours.
Another stop of here for me to snag and tag this one. Thanks Bullertrout. Cheers

Definitely nesting time for the birdlife, where we could provide them a wide berth we did but seemed this cache was surrounded by nests none of which we saw but birds were very protective of these caches within their territory. A quick find though thankfully.
Found with TregearP on a walk out to the end of the Boulder Bank and back.
A quick find and all in good condition. Thanks for the cache.

I jogged out here to see if I could find this cache and the one closer to the end. This one had me stumped for a while. Then I read a few previous logs and it was soon found.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

23/03/17 - The whole reason I went on this run, to pick up new D/T squares, This one does the job! TFTC
Absolutely stunning over here this morning. We have postponed our visit several times so we would avoid the nesting season so there was no problems with that at all. I hadn't read the description so was surprised at what we found here and now I know what it was. TFTC # 10,201
Really interesting visiting the Boulder Bank. - - - It seems there was once lots of activity out here. TFTC .
Easy to reach by boat: having totally given up on the idea that we might catch fish we settled for some geocaching instead. Far more productive - especially as we found a baby rabbit hiding under some cover near GZ. Not sure who was more surprised! TFTC
We were very fortunate to be able to log this one via boat, not having to tramp the boulder bank from beginning! Our Nelson friends, two-atara, took us on a little cruise along the bank to log some caches!!! Before we found the cache, however, we came across a tiny little bunny, who refused to leave, probably scared silly by the humans traipsing around on his territory! A very cool little spot to find a cache at! Thanks
After no joy back at the lighthouse we headed on to here to grab these 2 end caches. Interesting and unexpected evidence of structure here, I always assumed it was just boulders and stones along here. Easy find here and replaced as found with half red-brick on top. T F T C b&w
With the weather finally settled a bit it was time to try and make a concerted effort to get a few caches under the belt over Nelson way, before heading to Rabbit Island later in the afternoon to attend K_E's event. I was in the excellent company of fellow caching fans Ricardinho.nz and Jojo so we met in Blenheim at 8.30 and headed over the hill to attack the Boulder Bank on foot, both ways. A decent few kms were walked, somewhere around 16-18 and an all-up time of about 4 and half hours car to car. Got all 9 caches that had been mocking me from across the estuary and got to see Nelson city and Haulashore from yet another different angle. Great day for it with overcast skies, slight breeze and a tiny bit of sun. A lot of head-down, watch-your-step trudging and accompanied by the calls of the birds that inhabit this massive stretch of rocks. Even saw a massive sting-ray off shore when pointed out by one of the bach residents. Yeah, I know, baches out here. Seeing is believing. A wonderful stroll in good company, well worth the effort and the next days sore feet!

This is another cool little place on the bank, and a deserving spot for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here.
Sunday's plan was another trip across the hill for a few caches that had been eluding Capperz. The idea had been mooted earlier in the week and Capperz had mentioned he might find it hard to muster any enthusiasm from many locals here to accompany him. No such problems here - Nelson remains relatively untouched by myself and Jo so we didn't really mind what the plan was. In the end it was the boulder bank, an ominous looking stretch of rocks with just the one access point for a walker, and which makes no effort at any stage to disguise just how much further you have to go. Which can be a bit demoralising when the feet start to get weary. So an 8.30am kick off, and straight to the bank we went. Suitably equipped with water (but less so on the sunscreen, as I found out later), we set off at a pretty good pace. Not a lot to see on the way down - some rowers out training, a tree full of birds, a couple of impressive stingrays and some cool looking baches, mostly unoccupied. A little bit of a rest at the lighthouse to sort some business there, and then the long trip back. We made good time on the way back though, (the only thing remotely eventful being Capperz dive-bombed by a bird) which enabled us to comfortably make the BBQ event later in the day at Rabbit Island. A quick chat to a few new faces there and we were off back to Blenheim. All up a pretty successful trip with just the one DNF, and that pretty accessible for a future return. Thanks to all the COs.

Would love to have seen this place at the turn of the century. I bet there's was nothing on them hills. Great old baches down the boulder. TFTC.
Gave the birds a wide berth as we made our way around the shoreline to a quick easy find.
By the time we reached here I was certain that leaving Ellie at home was the right decision. We couldn't have her chasing the wildlife - could we?
An interesting place and cache soon found after checking a few other spots first. The hiding place although obvious didn't jump out at me due the lack of camo. Maybe the CO couldn't find any rocks to cover the cache or others had left it exposed. I left it covered to give it some protection from being accidentally spotted.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

Once we'd found A Cut Above, Streetgamer and I set off to explore the remains of the various structured dotted around this end of the Boulder Bank, hypothesising about what they might once have been.
Our money was on a WWII gun emplacement for one, but we'd need the history buffs to confirm that one.
Soon at the GZ, I had little poke around and was pleased to find the cache in a place where *I* would have hidden it, however with no pen (doh!), I'll have to rely on a screenshot to prove our find, until we return.
Thanks

NZDi and I had planned a two day caching weekend with the original idea to cache from Blenheim to St Arnaud to Kawatiri Junction to Nelson on Friday, then cache around Nelson on Saturday. We decided this would be too ambitious and scaled it back and started from Kawatiri Junction instead. After getting forty caches on Friday we decided to cache the Boulder Bank then head back to Blenheim. After getting a few caches on the trip out from town, we are now on the Boulder Bank proper and this is our sixteenth find of the day.
Throughout the weekend our logs were signed Kiwimykl + NZDi or KM + ND or variations of the two with or without the date depending on the size of the space available and / or the particular logging requirements of the CO.
Once past the lighthouse we are now into the main nesting area for the birdlife on the Boulder Bank and the noise was cacophonous. GZ for this was near the foundations of an old structure, so without any clue from the cache description or a hint, I used my geo-senses and surprisingly had the cache in hand rather quickly.

Another nice short walk from A Cut Above to this cache. The terrain is not too bad at this end of the bank, as the stones are smaller and easier to walk on. That will soon change though! And the distances between the caches will increase as well, but it was good having them to find at regular intervals, keeping up the interest levels and give us mini milestones on the big walk.
Really surprised to see that this building was made of stone blocks. They made a nice seat to sit on while we ate an easter egg each and admired the views from here.
Took a TB which has been languishing here for several months. TFTC.

#9360. Nearing GZ, I realised I had to veer off to the right to what was left of a building. The nicely hidden cache was soon found. We came across a seat nearby and sat there to have some morning tea and watch the loading of a recently arrived container ship. We had a bit of excitement crossing a channel as we headed back to the track. A convenient tree stump helped us to get across the channel. TFTC.
[green] I have wanted to walk the boulder bank and today was my chance. Dad came along, but had to give up before this cache. I carried on alone. I had seen some shrubs on the bank from the mainland and thought there was a little dirt and thus a good track. Am I ever wrong! I have sore ankles, shoes falling apart but I got there. And back. Woohoo! I had running-type shoes. Big mistake. Despite the hot day, full tramping shoes are a much better idea. Need the ankle support on on this terrain.
This has been an awesome trip, despite that my ankles still hurt as I write this log, and I cannot quite walk properly yet. The birds are amazing, especially the gulls and terns that let me get quite close. Although the caches are quite ordinary, a favourite didn't seem to cut it, so I am awarding two. One here, and one at the tip itself. Dropped in a TB.

Boy! rowing against the tide is hard work!!! managed to get there safe and sound only a little damp (it was quite rough today) . quick hunt at GZ resulted in the cache at a likely hiding spot. birds were making a racket though!! TFTC nice spot
Easy find after a wonderful stroll along the iconic Boulder Bank. Birds really noisy and other than the odd couple, pretty well behaved and kept their distance from yours truly. Thanks for the cache!!
Great day to grab a few more of the caches around the place. Thanks bumandworker for the cache.
It's been a long time in the planning and a constant source of frustration having 6 unclaimed caches on Haulashore Island and the Boulder Bank. Today my good muggle friend Colin took me and Mrs M out on a harbour cruise with a deviation to get these 6. Find #5 and another quick find with good coordinates. An interesting feature. TFTC
Found with Keg 1. Paddle boarders riding the surf break provided some entertainment on the boulder bank side of the cut. TFTC
This my first time along here and what a walk!! Such a beautiful day for caching, only muggles here are 100+ seagulls! thanks
On a geocaching adventure today. Have borrowed a friend's kayak (thank you Mick). So off to the Boulder Bank and Haulashore Island.
It was far too nice a day to stay at home so a long overdue walk along the Boulder bank was decided on. Initially we had thought we would only walk to the first cache about halfway along but soon changed our minds and went on to the furthest one. By the time we got to this cache the phone was going a tad flat and therefore the GPS was getting a bit erratic but the cache was found after a very short hunt. Thank you for the excuse to venture along here. TFTC.
A spur of the moment decision to "do" a cache on the Boulderbank today. It turned out to be a journey to be remembered. If you do the first one along the way you might as well do the next one not much further along it was decided. It was applied until we found ourselves just a short swim from Haulashore Island A wonderful caching day was had and watching the stunning sunset was a welcome bonus. At GZ the search was on and soon enough Holymu spoke those famous words. TFTC
Found after a short search on a walk along the Boulder Bank today. Tried the obvious places first, no luck, and then success a bit later. Signed log, TFTC.
Less birds in this spot, though I had to scary a couple of them away. Quick find. TFTC
After making a clean sweep on the island we headed via hire kayak over to the cut but had to get the right channel crossing to comply with maritime port authority requirements.
A Cut Above was first. Certain a heap of bird life and the chicks are almost adults apart from their colouring. We arrived at GZ and soon saw the tell tail sign and made a quick find. We signed the log and re hid. TFTC
We them rock hopped over to the old ruins of Haven Life and realised the hide was not the same or as easy. Our GPSr had us off the ruins and down the bank by about 6m today but we knew the cache had to be on the ruins. For us it was a long search and as we were about to give up we made the find in a nice little spot. We signed the log and re hid. We then finished off our paddle with a visited to the light house only to find our GPSr had not loaded the cache that was there.
A most enjoyable time on the harbour and the bank.

Over on the boulder bank learning to beach start on my windsurfing course. We found it it in the sort of shelter while sheltering from a 25 knot squall.

Grabbed this one whilst paddling in between A Cut Above and Let There Be Light. Lot less birds here than at the previous cache, good job because it took me much longer to find this one. Always nice to be out on the water, TFTC!
It was a short walk for us - having been kindly dropped by the older members of the logian team at the lighthouse. Walked along the boulder bank in the warm sun with the younger logian and his muggle friends - one of whom signed the log here with a username he invented as we walked. So caught a cache and a cacher while the transport providers caught fish. A stunning day - no wonder the boat ramp area was full of trailers. The cache was in an obvious spot - had been overloooked by the young enthusiasts - but not by SoBad. Thanks.
A long walk indeed but very pleasant on a stunning autumn morning. Not a cloud in the sky and hardly a breath of wind. Took me about 2 hours from the car park to the end of the boulder bank. Very peaceful time indeed. Lots of interesting birdlife but this time of year seems to be free of any nesting. Oh and a cache or two too... TFTC, Biggles.
Just seen Biggles log we passed each other without realising who he was because we have never met.
It was great to come out all this way and only one more to complete all the caches out here.Maybe we should have left a bit earlier in the morning as it was a hot day and no wind.Nice hide this one took a few minutes to find thanks.

Cache found with Ducksarse Dave while participating in the Rotary Club's Boulder Bank Challenge. Information given to us suggests this site was a powder magazine built in 1843. Didn't dally for long as we were rushing to get the boat back to the mainland!. TFTC.
The fishing was rubbish, but had to do something while waiting for the people who were sitting right on top of the cache to finish lunch and leave.
Quick find while racing to catch the boat after completing the boulder bank walk. TFTC>
Thanks to the floods (long story) we have been left a kayak for a few days so it was an opportunity to head to the Boulder bank.
Thought about walking to here from the Lighthouse but there were too many nesting birds so we carried on down the coast on the Kayaks. The BB gulls still weren't happy with our arrival by sea so Ms M stayed in the boat while Mr M ventured up the bank to make the find.
Looks like a pair of Oyster Catchers are nesting nearby along with many Gulls.
Breeding is from mid October to late January. We recommend that this cache and its neighbour are disabled during these months and that cachers avoid this area during the breeding season.

A nice paddle across the Haven in search of caches led us here. A very interesting area and plenty of dive-bombing birds. Thanks!
Took abit to find but was not giving up. Be careful out here as birds are nesting. We were getting dive bombed alot
one boat on its side today. wouldn't see it at high tide. hundreds of noisy birds. and a rabbit at gz. not a quick find but found it in the end. thanks. tftc ftf
