Came over this way to check out some camping spots in the area.
Stopped for some lunch and a find, but, the find was not found.
And, by reading the previous logs, looks like it's gone.

DNF a local asked what we were doing and said he saw some little kids playing with it ages ago. So difinately gone. He showed us just were it was.
Had a decent look and my suggestion that it's grown legs.

Found easily log signed and cache placed back safely.
No mufflers whilst we did what we needed to do.
I thought this area was so beautiful and people working in the store, Kia SL and the ferry were happy and friendly.
Thank you for the placement and care of.

Quick find in the middle of town. Thanks for bringing us here to learn more about our early history.
There were a few muggles around, but I don't think any body saw me take it out or put it back.
Thanks
Thanks
Tftc - found it nice and easy however some muggles were checking us out so we had to wait. We suspect they were cachers waiting for us to leave thinking we were the muggles
Lots of muggles around, even so an easy find and collect. The log was a lump of papier mache, so dried the cache out and placed a new log sheet in the cache.
Some people hate nanos, some hate mint tins. Me.... I hate old log pages jammed in caches turning to mush with intruding water.
My solution would be to remove the old log pages, iron them flat and take a photo of them which could be added to the cache's gallery.
Just a suggestion........

Just crossed the Wisemans Ferry and I saw that this cache was close by.

We thoroughly enjoyed wandering through Wiseman's Ferry today, the rainy and windy weather could not dampen our enthusiasm. What a handsome statue Solomon has been given! And what a bold hide the cache is! The passing muggles had no idea what we were doing there.
We walked down to the river, admired the friendship poles, the peaceful goings-on on the water and the fantastic rock faces on the other side. We could not help but imagine how human life around here must have been for thousands of years. The natural beauty still remains tangible.

Found with Kittykatch waiting for the ferry. We were on our way back from the Morisset Geomuster and I had never been this way. Thanks for bringing us here.
A nice place to stop to get some lunch. We had to watch for muggles but managed to make the grab without too much trouble. Cache in good nick. TFTC
I came up to Wisemans for a bit of work today. It's changed so much since I was last here (maybe ? decades ago). After having a good look at the war memorials, both for humans and equines, I came up here and found this cache after feeling about a bit. I added my dry log to the soggy papier mache of the past. Thanks SearchnLog.
Found with baby&Mrs Gopher. Then lunch at the Pub before they headed to the ferry and thomo31 to the Blue Mountains. TFTC
6919 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1100. On our way to the ferry for lunch and a beer. Cache needs a new log as the sheets that are there are so fragmented it was difficult to find a clear space..SL Tnx The SearchnLog

Really the muggles are the biggest obstacle here. We managed to nab it on a busy warm Sunday afternoon in July. And more history with the cache description than at the site - thanks, SearchnLog!
After logging this cache you may also be interested in logging a nearby Archived cache down near the ferry. "GC6DC53 Old Northern Invertebrates" is in good shape and just waiting to be found, and we don't quite know why it was Archived. Happy caching everyone.

Day 1 of a school holiday trip to Wisemans Ferry in our brand new geomobile, spending a couple of nights at the Del Rio Riverside Resort, and collecting some caches along the way as we explore this historic area. This was the 9th of 11 finds for the day.
Stopped off at the grocery store to grab some supplies, and grabbed this cache while we were there. A quick find at an interesting monument. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC SearchnLog.

The history here for me is worth a favourite point! Took me two attempts but managed to get there in the end. TFTC!
Whilst attending nephew's wedding nearby I managed to duck out in between proceedings. Only 60m away and it was in the second place I checked. Quick sign in the dark then it's back to the reception. TFTC.
#4146- We finally made it to Wisemans Ferry after stopping for 7 other caches along the way. As we pulled up the car, a group of guys decided they'd leave the cafe next door and look at the subject of the cache. Luckily they moved on quickly, and it was a quick grab, larger than I had expected, before heading off further on. Thanks

I was intrigued by the name 'Wisemans Ferry ' so today I decided to drive up and see the place. I was surprised to see that is was well over 70km from home. Luckily the Old Northern Road is scenic, which great views and every now and then a geocache.
I now arrived at my destination and was surprised. The place was certainly smaller than I thought, but quite pretty though.
While I was snooping around for the cache together with my dog, a man walked over from the neighbouring terrace. He also had a schnautzer, and told me all about it. So we spend a good 10 minutes talking about dogs. Then he walked back to the rest of his party and I could continue my search and finnaly add my name to the list.
Thanks for the cache SearchnLog.

A muggle mate and I took the motorbikes out for a ride to Wiseman's Ferry today. Had lunch at the pub and then picked up a few caches. This was the first of three.
Mr Wiseman was very lucky from being sentenced to death, then transported with his family in a cabin and a pardon a few years later. That's about how long it took me to find the cache. I'm sure we both checked that spot before but then had to resort to photos to give us the confidence to keep searching in that spot.

After attending a wedding i had a quick wonder and found this cache before heading home TFTC btw had no pen so i took a photo
In the area to attend the 'theatre in the wild' production of Convict Footprints on the Old Great North Road across the river at Dharug National Park. Entertaining, educational and envigorating. Can't believe it's been over four years since we had a DNF here. We thought the area around GZ looked a bit different and photos and logs confirmed it. It's much nicer now and we found the cache. We learned at the play that Mr Wiseman was a bit of a wheeler and dealer back in the day! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Thankfully there were very few muggles around when we arrived to search for this cache. It was a quick and easy find as there was a fairly limited number pf places that it could be hiding. All was done as is needed and the container was then quickly replaced in its hiding place. Thank you to SearchnLog for putting this cache out and for the history information on Solomom Wiseman.
Had no problems in finding this cache after a short search. The log was signed and the cache was replaced as found. Thank you SearchnLog for placing this cache.
Took a bit of finding. Fortunately some rain had driven the muggles away. [^]. TFTC!
Found with pk1965. We decided to head out to Wisemans Ferry today to tackle some harder caches, with the main goal being the old school '#19 Haunted Highway' Traditional Cache. An early start to beat peak hour traffic, we hit the road and set a course for the 'Hidden History 6 - Blood, Sweat and Pride', which was on the way. After collecting the clues at Waypoint 1, we worked out the final location of the cache and drove over to a spot with some rather impressive views. After a bit of a search around, we made the find and we also performed a mini Cache In Trash Out. Next I thought we should stop by an old cache that had been archived before ever being found, the ‘Snapshot’ Traditional Cache. We found the likely little troglodyte but no cache to be seen unfortunately. We continued through the outskirts of the township of Wisemans Ferry to swing past the ‘Water’s Edge’, which was not quite on the water’s edge but we were able to find it okay.
Returning via the way we came, we stopped in at a café in Wisemans Ferry for a coffee before we found ‘The History of Wiseman's’. A local who worked in one of the shops caught us in the hunt and she seemed to have an idea what we were up to. On the way to the punt, we swung past ‘Old Northern Invertebrates’ and a quick bite to eat at the kiosk. We hopped the car ferry across the river and took the long way to the old school ‘#19 Haunted Highway’ via the Shepherds Gully Road. We made the find at the old stockade site and walked down the Devines Hill track to check out Hangmans Rock.
From here, we took the old road back down Shepherds Gully to where we had parked the car and felt like we had earnt a well-deserved lunch break, so we crossed the river to find a pub in Wisemans Ferry. After a brief stop, we went back over the river in the car ferry and, this time, took the Finch Line by foot to find the cache of the day ‘The Abandoned Convict Road’, which had some amazing views from the top. We continued further along Wisemans Ferry Road and found ‘Run Of The Mill’, ‘TBL #9 Wombat’, ‘TBL #8 Spencer’, the ‘The Universal Hub’ Earth Cache, ‘TBL #7 Scotchmans Creek’ and ‘TBL #6 Bedlam Creek’. We thought we would finish off the day by attempting the ‘Woodbury's Rest’ Multi Cache. Once we found the right entrance into the cemetery, finding the clues was a lot easier but we struggled to locate the physical cache. So, we will have to return another day.
Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners.

Caching with JordsAU
4 for 14 cache finds today
With ADI at work we decided to head out and do some harder caches. So we decided to cache around Wisemans Ferry today.
We arrived at the cafe next to GZ for beakfast but sadly no bacon and egg rolls here. So we walk bu to the pub to see if they were open.. na, they weren't so headed back to the cafe for coffee, while we wait for the muggles to leave gz.
When we finish our coffees, the muggles had left, so we headed to gz and started our search. One of the local asked what were doing and she new there was a cache very close.. So we had a quick chat and she continued on her way. We found the cache and while we were sign the log she returned, we laughed about that new game.. and about how people come to wisemans to find some local ones.
After finding that there was a shop near the ferry that sells rolls, we head off..

Out with Team Merlin to find an Old School cache in the Great North Road at Wisemans Ferry.
On our way home we stopped to pick up another cache. As we parked close by to GZ we started searching where Team Merlin made a find of the hidden cache . With the cache in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition.

Out with JJCC on a cache run to find an Old School cache in the Great North Road at Wisemans Ferry.
After finding #19 Haunted Highway we made our back over to Wisemans Ferry before heading home and parked the car several metres from GZ and decided to make the find without the GPSr. After a little bit of a search we spotted something sticking out and discovered the cache container. With the cache safely in hand, we both signed the log before replacing as found, but out of sight. Both the cache and log are in good condition.

Tftc, on a geo-bro-road trip north of Sydney today. It was a good chance to show my brother, the moose, an amateur cacher, an awesome variety of caches with great views!
