Showed my confused face around that area for a long time in the wrong spots surveillance for sure got my lost expression Such an incredible spot. Its incredible what you find when you go out geocaching Thanks for this superb cache location.
*Found on the 31 Dec 2023 @ 2:12pm.**Cache find # 15442.* As I was around this end of the trail finding some other caches, I decided to finish off this trail that I had started earlier on.I made my way down to the GZ area where the phone was indicating that the cache was on the high side of the track but after reading the hint, it became clear that wasnt where the cache was, so going by the hint, I headed to where it was indicating and sure enough the cache was found, it was a good thing that there was a detailed hint or I would never have found this one.**Thanks to Paul_the_Hippy for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Today I went a'huntin' with Redcb. I had a DNF here a couple of years ago, but noticed it had been found in recent times.
Checking out the map showed that we didn't need to hike the entire track today, so we enjoyed a short walk.
After searching for some time, and being entertained by Redcb's gymnastic tumble down the slope, we reverted to contacting the CO. He was able to point out that I did not have the latest coordinates. With this discovery, we were able to find the tricky little fella.
Thank you Paul the Hippy. We enjoyed our travels in the area.

I entertained Crustyvarmint today with a spectacular roll down an embankment, finishing up with a stylish sprawl on the road/track below. Always happy to entertain my mentor in any way I can.....just pass me the panadol and nurofen please! After a bit of muddling about and a false start Crustyvarmint was finally able to locate the cache, I was able to find my panadol and we were on our way! TFTC Paul_the_Hippy.
Little detour on the drive home from work to pick this one up
Still in good condition
Signed log TFTC
Now to find the time and energy to head back to the area and ge the other 2 in the series!

Having already picked up the first two of this series a few years ago I decided to clean up this area today. It hasn’t rained all week and today there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Perfect caching conditions. I parked at the top and walked down to this one first. After reading previous logs I was a bit apprehensive about setting off alarms. Thankfully my visit wasn’t noticed enough to cause any concern. A quick find was made at GZ. Sexy vampires indeed! Thank you Paul_the_Hippy for placing and maintaining Sexy Sexy Vampires Mining for Gold for us to find today.

here we experienced that awkward phenomenon
when we and a man were the only people in this whole park
and we happened to all start our walk within thirty seconds of each other
and we happened to all walk at a very similar pace
everyone pausing here and there for water or to stop and inspect a flower or an echidna or a mineshaft, meaning we overtook as much as a road-raging hoon
sometimes we were in front
sometimes he took the lead
we were worried that we would experience an awkwardness near the treasure
a lack of company is the treasure hunter's friend
but
here he took his own path
walking over to the DO NOT ENTER signs
jumping up and down, arms waving, in front of the cameras
and walking off with a sly grin when nothing happened
we were just glad we could search in peace

Ok so this one will need to be book marked for another day to come and sift through the quartz to see if we can be lucky finding our treasure.. or not because someone still has an active claim on it??? TFTC it was a wonderful wander in the trees.
I felt like going for a stroll in the bush and decided that it was time I returned to Happy Valley Track to finish off this little collection... it was, I subsequently discovered, over 8 years ago that I last wandered up this track and found 3 of the 5 caches placed along.
As part of my plan was to get some exercise, I parked at the bottom and walked "up"... both on the map and the terrain. The place was all locked and deserted so I had no difficulty in finding the cache.
Thanks **Paul_the_Hippy** for putting the cache here.

Found easily based on hint. Saw vampires, but not sexy, no alarm but we didn't go to the upper level. TFTC
About to walk in from the top, when 2 vehicles appeared - opened the gate and headed to GZ. We’ll come back again when hopefully we get the Sexy Sexy Vampires to ourselves!
Drat it, the pattern held true - miss one, got one, miss one, got one....yep, missed this one. Followed the hints to the letter....and nada. So frustrating when I thought this one was in the bag given the info - oh well, come back another day! The walk alone was worth it - thanks!
Checked coords and the next set where less accurate then the original ones that have the cache on the correct contour. Small changes to hint, but still detailed as under bridge in a steep heavily treed gully is a big test for a gps. Updated description.

Love the dogs sirens and the other BS. The pics would have been a good promo for Rapha cycling as I had the hat on.

Its my last sexy vampire container, so hopefully this one lasts, now the cache is up and running again.
Found with icw. The sexy, sexy vampires take their security seriously. However, it wasn't me who tripped the alarms! Apparently all the hounds of hell and beyond were about to be unleashed on us, but they hadn't arrived by the time we walked back to the carpark. Thank you Paul_the_Hippy for bringing us to such a strange site in a wonderful section of remnant bush.
With movement restrictions reduced again not sure when I can visit this site again. Hopefully soon.
Sounds like its missing will replace sometime after my corona settles down.
Dismal weather continued today ending our 4 day break based in Dicksons Creek. Looking forward to a return visit to the area next March
Permission granted by the CO for us to claim a find on this one. Many thanx to Paul_the_Hippy

Searched forever for this one, to no avail
Was more than happy with the other finds and somewhat disappointed in not being able to complete the series
Back in our accomodation, and reading the previous logs, we are pretty sure we covered all documented areas. It is however a micro so may have been easily overlooked
Will contact the CO. Hopefully we can sign this one off before heading home at the end of the week

As the light was fast fading, we hunted high and low without success. Finally, frustrated, I contacted the CO who gave me explicit instructions as to its whereabouts, but we were unable to find it by torch light. Unfortunately we had to give up, vowing to return another day. Thanks anyway Paul, it was a lovely walk.
I knew one thing for sure, we weren’t going to leave without finding this one after walking this far! And we found it, had to read comments to find out about new location. Use the hint, not the description. TFTH
It was one of those times when the cache was in the first place I looked...I just didn't look hard enough! I don't know how much time I've spent in my caching life doing that, but way too much!
Curiously the previous cachers "Found" comment was pretty rude, but there seems to be no discernible mark on the log that he was ever there. (Same goes for the previous cache back down the valley)

The Happy Valley track took me to this surprising location. I searched for some time here, trying to apply the clue but I simply could not find it. It was a nice walk though. Thanks for introducing me to this place Paul, I was very thirsty when I got back to the car. Four out of five on this journey.
While enjoying caching today with DAB, we were fortunate to pick up some solved puzzles, multi's and traditionals, highlighting the One Hill Reserve spectacular bushland.
We were lucky to have a burst of late summer weather making for great conditions for a hike or 2 as well as completing a nearby series.
Heading towards a solved puzzle we just had to make a detour and head for this cache as it sounded intriguing. Well we went mining for gold and ended up with vampires instead which gave us a good laugh in this interesting location.
Thanks Paul_the_Hippy for bringing us here and showing us where "Twilight" came to die.

After completing a nearby series, we continued on finding hides in this beautiful area. With a few solved puzzles to collect, we also grabbed a collection of multis and trads. Thanks to all of the CO's for your efforts in placing these caches. Such a picturesque area to be caching, a very enjoyable day and night indeed.
The cache title was very intriguing and it all made sense at gz. Got a laugh out of that, well done. A nice little area to explore as well. TFTC Paul the Hippy

Passing this way again, and thought I would report finding the cache (again!) in the new location. A new log too - much drier than the old one. I tried to set off the alarms, but not a peep! They must be switched off or broken. Sad - because they were fun!
5/5 found it! A few words I. Th description and hint could mean a couple of different places, eg multiple embankments
I saw in the logs that the owner moved the cache to stop the alarm going off, description describes the OLD location and needs updating. See he hint for actual info, and trust our gps on this one!
I am sur it was us and not a comment on the cache itself. Spent some time setting of the alarm waiting for help to arrive.
Forgot to log this in 2 days ago. We set off the alarm, too. Our fault for not reading the activity nor the hint. And nope, no one came to hunt us down even though this took us a while to find after finally reading everything. I liked how the vampire theme actually made sense in the end. Tftc!
**Find #1546**
This was the last cache for the day, after walking up the Happy Valley Track. A very pleasant walk with plenty of bird life about. I arrived at GZ and the GPS had me setting off the alarm several times and after about 15mins searching, I re-entered the co-ords and this time it had me right were I needed to be and away from the security alarm. An easy find in the end. Sure pays to punch in the correct co-ords. The alarm is actually very funny, with dogs barking and Police sirens, and the promise of a security car has been sent. I didn't see anyone.
Thanks **Paul_the_Hippy**

A long walk down hill and an equally long walk back up. Interesting area here, we tried to avoid the security cameras. The hide was easily found luckily. Thanks Paul the Hippy for the cache.
Back in action. Assuming that the cache watches are previous dnf. I have realised there is another access with a 300m easy walk to the cache. Check your maps for nearby roads. Hope that will bring you back to the area.

Moved to new location. Out of order until listing updated. Old cache found and removed due to security system.
Having found all the previous caches along the track, I was hopeful of finding this, the last one. I had no sooner arrived at GZ than off went the alarm. Luckily there was no-one else around to scare, and I was expecting it, based on previous logs. I searched up and down and all around, decrypted the hint, then went in search of the specified item - I think I found it, but not the cache.
I'd been looking for a small, for some reason, and when I read that it was a micro, I checked everywhere again, but still no cache. I was there a long time, and must have set the alarm off at least twenty times before I decided to give up and head back to my car.
With it being the only one left, I won't be back in a hurry, but you never know.
My thanks to Paul the Hippy for an enjoyable walk in the bush.

In October 2014 I found the caches at the lower end of the track, but never made it to the top two and today I finally got around to coming back to complete the set. This time I parked at the top and walked down to GZ. I manage to avoid the dog patrols and found the rusty little tin OK. Thanks Paul
Came here having read previous logs and was ready for the alarms, barking dogs and approaching patrol cars. Geokids were desperate to set it all off and it did not take long. Posed for the 'cameras' after signing the log in this one before heading back down towards the start. Interesting spot - did not know it even existed until today! TFTC.
Ha ha this was a great little cash to find and we had a bit of fun with the alarms TFTC
Reading the logs we were prepared for the alarms. We tried to get around them and not set them off but failed as we got close to the GZ. We got a little laugh out of the little sounded dogs barking in the background has the police cars screamed off to catch us. Interesting spot.

Needs some attention. A lot of sirens going off but all good otherwise. The owner of the mine has put up fake security cameras and sirens. So they make lots of noise when u pass a certain point.
Over the last few months 88andy88 has been introducing me to geocaching.
Took a while for me to grasp it all and have finally joined up so now i am backtracking logs of the caches i have been to to find with 88andy88....
Thanks for the cache.....
PS: the cut and pastes will stop but as most say Andy writes logs big enough for both of us lol

26/1/17 Found @8:29 pm #2259 So on this amazing Australia Day afternoon i decided to take the geomut and the girlfriend on a lovely stroll up the hill to find some great treasures.
Awesome funny story. Now my girlfriend who is still very green with the whole geocaching thing was sitting having a bit of a rest after we had hiked 2.5 kms uphill to get to this and once arriving spotting the massive security setup including solar cameras and stating that we are not allowed to be here.
I comforted her saying it was ok when suddenly the thing started flashing and making siren noises and stating that patrol cars were on their way . Well my muggle girlfriend for up and started almost running downhill. I had to stop her to say it was ok and that everyone else had commented on this stupid alarm....
Very funny indeed.
The find itself was not to hard and thanks again for a fantastic little series.
A fav from me .
Thanks mr hippy... loved this little hike

Like a mug, I decided to walk up from the bottom on a 36 deg day! I had been here before with a group of bushwalkers, and they wanted to move on due to the vampire noise. I reckon I dispatched about three patrols, but where are they dispatched from? Sydney? Brisbane? I waited, but they hadn't arrived, and I had to move on to the lower caches in the series!
Discovered the cache where the hint said. Awkward to reach without getting dirty! The container is a bit rusty, and the log has just about dissolved into dry mush. Couldn't write on it. I added a couple of small pages of heavy duty paper which should be more waterproof, and replaced it in a new slightly smaller ziplock bag. But this cache should be given a proper new log fairly soon.

I decided to bring my bike for this string. Up hill all the way and quite successful. Thanks Paul. Very nice run down hill at the end! You can't avoid getting the message here. I must have dispatched their whole fleet of patrol vehicles! The series gets a star.

We eventually arrived here after our little climb up the track.
The cameras seem to be pointing down assuming any intruders are going to climb over the gate on the bridge. Who would do that.
We wandered around and looked in the place cleared indicated by the hint.
Nothing there.
Searched around a bit, and decided to do a PAF. Had just started speaking to a F when Pam found it. The log wasn't in great condition, but I signed it, and decided it put it back where the CO had clearly meant it to be, in accordance with the hint. I placed a small rock in front of it both to keep it ion place and to be a flag for later searchers. It's not easy to reach it and remain clean and in your comfort zone, but isn't that the whole point of this one.
I actually forgot to yell Sexy Sexy Vampire, but then Pam may have taken offence and it might not have gone well after that so probably for the best.

Wow, this took me a long time to find. I read the description and hint over and over and checked both sides but couldn't find it. Was about to give up when I checked something else, and there it was! Thanks for taking me through One Tree Hill, I've loved it
Looking for agesss. Long walk, tired, getting wet. About to give up and mum finds it. Loved this day so much. 8km around trip for us as we took a few wrong turns. Thank you so much for bringing us here!
This cache might have suffered from cache creep as it is not in the described location. However it's not too far away so we did find it and sign the log. This is an interesting area and the final find for us today before heading home. TFTC.
I was a bit spooked by the cameras overhead near GZ, but the lure of gold and treasure was too strong. Took a while, but I found it in the end. A very interesting location - fortunately all was quiet on the western front today.
TFTC.

Tftc found with geobrother on a nice warm sunny day. Signed as the maccas. Such an awesome spot too. Found the cache took some happy snaps then left
Out with geobrother andy707 hunting down some caches in the bush before I go away. Themaccas say TFTC.
Found it fairly easily with the detailed instructions, although still not easy to get to and didn't really fancy sticking my hand in there, but I did and grabbed it. TFTC. Interesting little spot.
Found without too much trouble by Clarkey88, after we had a bit of an investigation and smiled for the camera....
As this one had an attribute we were after we headed over. A nice walk in and we saw some roos, dark wallabies, an echidna and some wabbits. The mine seemed empty so we had GZ to our selves. A look around the bridge and we soon spotted the hide. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Did a systematic check and found it. My gps was out by 35m. Could have been interference by the bridge. Not many signatures on this log compared to the others.
Met a prospector using a metal detector searching under the bridge. Geokids enjoyed coming across an old mine that was still in use. Shame it's not still the original container. Only gi t the joke after finding the Sugarloaf cache. Thanks for the series and the walk Paul the Hippy
Awesome spot and an amazing walk through history around this area. Kids loved it but their little mittens couldn't reach cache so I had to save the day. No gold nugs today but some smiles is what it's all about! Will have to come back and do the others soon.
After accessing the first three in this series from the lower end, we decided to hit the last two from the top. We stopped so I could look down a few old mine shafts along the way before arriving at the start point. Geoturtle37 decided to sit this one out as she wasn't feeling the best,so off I went alone. A very pleasant down hill stroll soon had me at gz where I found an actual gold mine. A bit of a look about, and a peek at the hint soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced the cache, then a few happy snaps to show my co pilot before I leave. we will have to come back another for Happy Valley Frogs as it is getting a bit late in the day for that distance. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Walked down from one tree hill road, lovely winter morning, left a throw down with permission thanks for the walk
This was to be the second of the day to pick up 5 along this track, at least that was the intention. 3 DNF ruined that!
This one is definitely missing. Looked at the obvious spots, read the hint and pretty sure where it meant. Looking at the photos it looks like the bridge has been remodelled and may have gone missing then.
The mine is still active. Met a local Scout leader on a hike and he said about 5 tonne of granite has gone from the heap in the last few months.

I looked , I followed the hint, I didn't find it. Another time to find a micro in the bush
Well by the time I'd walked into this cache I was pretty hot and tired! So I spent a bit of time in front of the sexy sexy vampires gold mine and enjoyed the cool breeze coming out through the gaps around the door. Would have loved to explore inside the mine.......
This was another cache I spent a long time looking for!! Used the clue, tried both sides, both ends, under, over and was going to give up when I spotted something that would have been a good container.....but it wasn't where it I thought it should have been!! Opened it up anyhow and found the log ))) Soon had that signed and I returned the cache to where the clue said it should be......
Thanks for bringing me all the way up here. It's a really enjoyable walk.

Well I certainly took to long route to find this one, parked at the suggested location and walked up to the road located to the north of the GZ, after reorientation myself to the cache did a serious spot of bush bashing, fortunately for me I think I am part mountain goat. I soon found myself at the point of interest, and what an interesting place it is. After a quick hunt around I had the log in hand. Thanks for bringing me to a place I would never of know existed. Docadoo
Travelling from Melbourne to Goughs Bay for a weekend away, MuggleWife and I decided on a energizing walk on the way before stopping for lunch in Yea on the way.
Ahhh, the final prize but do I have enough battery life in the GPSr? Turned out that I didn't even need the iPhone after reading the clue. Quick find tucked away in it's little home. Enjoyed the walk this morning, cool but dry and very invigorating. Thanks for bringing us here.
Downhill all the way now, thanks for the caches Paul_the_Hippy

Heading through this part of town cleaning up a few caches which I had been meaning to do for some time... Parked up the top of the trail & walked down...
Found this well hidden cache, signed log & replaced...
Thanks for the cache and for bringing me here... Took the opportunity to look around the cool mining stuff...

I love how Caching brings you to places like this. Thanks Paul for a enjoyable morning walk with the bush alive with spring flowers, birds and a great series of hides.
Wandered down the hill for this one with Daddy-o and Master D ... Fascinating to find this old mine and daddy-o wanted in badly but it was all locked up! Found the cache easily as it was exposed. Found some big holes too! TFTC
Ah, the highlight of this walk! What a great place to visit. I had my worth of the three and a half terrain stars by not reading the description properly and scrambling over and under, following an errant GPS - and enjoyed all of it! And then I found a really easy way of accessing the site that I had completely missed on my first approach. Ah well.
Great walk, great place, fantastic weather. A favourite.
Took a few photos and then commenced the casual saunter to the car.
Thanks and cheers!

Had an afternoon of caching with essieg, RCFM, lobster6 7, and danozz. After an initial run that took us through Mooroolbark, Lilydale and Yarra Glen (where we chanced upon Trailrunning doing muggle duties) we headed to Christmas Hills. This is an interesting spot but we could not tell if the mine is operating at present. It is not very secure.
Very funky mine, we broke the rules and went inside for a sneaky look around. I pushed one of the carts along till the idea got boring, the kids got a bit spooked when we turned off the lights, and we saw some really obvious explosives behind a flimsy gate. I half considered grabbing one and waving it around, however I've seen that episode of Lost enough times to know it's not a good idea.
We shut the door behind us and commenced cache searchage, a lot of spots to check (darn micros) but the description gave away the location.

Part of a geocaching afternoon with some friends as an introduction to the activity. 7th of 7.
All the caches we visited were placed by and/or maintained by Paul the Hippy. Thanks Paul.
The battery on my smart phone nearly dead but we got there. However, we ran out of water and had a long walk back with a blaring sun. It was a great afternoon.

Thanks for the cache. Found out after reading the description again. Saw kangaroos in the dark vampire forest. 19.11

Parked up the top of the road and decided to do the series from the top down with Mrs Happy pants. Easy enough at this point to reach this cache, took a little while though to locate as the gps took a little while to settle. No vampires to be seen so I had a bit of a sneaky peek around the cool old mine stuff and entrance. SL TFTC
A quick find @ 15:10 in the company of the geowife, emeraldflame and the CO. We were fascinated by the strange noises coming from behind the locked mine door.
Thanks to Paul for the cache.

A pleasant walk down the hill and a quick find.
Interesting mine and an almost scary whoosh.

What a cool spot! I didn't know there was a real underground mine up here! I wonder if it's still used. I thought this was going to be easy, from the description, and I spent about 15 minutes looking for it and thinking it was gone. Then I thought - well maybe I should just try the other side of the bridge - and found it in 30 seconds...hmm...Thanks for a great series and a fantastic walk. Going back felt much longer - when you're collecting caches you don't realise how far you've walked!
Tonight I decided to take a break from work for a few hours and head to the Happy Valley to find the series of caches hidden in the area there. With some trads and some puzzle cache finals to collect, I was prepared to do some walking. The night was mild and perfect for caching. I managed to stay ahead of some storm fronts that eventually passed south of the area, otherwise it may have been a long wet night.
The walk from the first to last cache was really enjoyable and turned out to be not as hard as I thought it would be. Plenty of wild life was spotted during the night with a plethora of kangaroos and a couple of tank like wombats spotted along the journey.
This initially proved a tricky cache to locate and scaled the area from different points looking for the hide. I eventually came from the correct side and soon spotted the cache. Log signed and onto my last find for the night.
Thanks for the hide.
