Have flown down to Melbourne from Sydney for a 2 week training course at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport Air Traffic Control Centre, but my main interest will be in collecting as many Victorian (VK3 in HAM radio terms) caches as possible during my free time away from the workplace. My primary caching target areas will be the Woodlands Historic Park (with it’s 100 plus caches), the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, the Outer Circle Railway Trail, the Donaldson’s Creek Trail, the Ruffey Creek Trail, Eltham (Diamond Valley Railway), and the suburbs surrounding my Essendon apartment. This was the 1st of 50 finds for the day, and the 169th of 242 finds for the trip.

With only one weekend available to me for private activities (between the two weeks of training) I planned to make the most of it with some serious caching activities lined up for both days. Today (Sunday) I was off to Eltham to visit the Diamond Valley Miniature Railway, where a work colleague was rostered on for train duties, and to do some of the cache trails that lay along my intended route.

Stopped off at this one as I was driving by on Bell Street, parking on the other side of the road and then ducking over for a nice quick find for the first cache of the day. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC G-2 & Giles.

#1624 - 10.30am
Out on a cool grey Easter Monday with my much missed fiancé.
Parking was a bit of a challenge. But the cache was signed without drawing any of the nearby muggle attention.

As yesterday's Easter fades, ANZAC Day moves into the spotlight. My mind turned to injured Soldiers and Purple Hearts, and how they say "all is fair in love and war".
Lest we forget.

Thanks, G_2 & Giles.

Thank you G-2& Giles, It was good to come by here and find your cache, my daughter was born here and it brought back memories. A great hide and container, I've seen them on pinterest so I will copy it and make one myself. Nobody around today so it was great for a quick sign and replacement.

Forty plus years ago I passed this place on my way to Coburg Teacher’s College/ State College of Victoria - Coburg/ I forget what it was called in third year in a bus, when I didn’t have a car, and there was a big hospital here. A few years later I even had to use its facilities after a workplace accidental a with a guillotine (chipped tip of thumb ). Since then it’s changed its purpose considerably. I found this pretty quickly on a quiet, sunny Mother’s Day afternoon. It gave me a great chance to check the old building out on foot. TFTC

A short tour of Meccico from north of the border. Something about tennis and a visit to a diver. This cache added to the fun and was found in the last place I looked. No medical checks needed so I cached and moved on. Bong central behind the red box (which is about 10m from GZ so don't worry). Of course I checked there....

Thanks to G_2 and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

Headed out after a lazy Saturday at home to visit Welcome to Thornbury for an early dinner. Grabbed a few caches on our way there, this was our fifth and final for the day.

Clever camo this one!!

20-Dec-17
I had a dinner meeting at a restaurant inside the complex here. Now I couldn't count the number of times I've been past here but always on the way somewhere else. Today was destiny and I made the find after dinner with my friend, also a geocacher, who has already found this one but not at the same spot I found it in. Much quieter after rush hour!! Tftc

05-Sep-17
We have driven past this cache numerous times and today was finally the day we decided to grab it. We expected it to be tough given the muggle factor but we had a surprise when we found Bell Street quiet compared to it busy self. Thanks to the muggles for allowing us to look....

I spent a few weeks laid up in this building when it was known as PANCH
I looked in what I thought were the obvious spots
But the GPS had me moving around
I sat down and spotted something out of the corner of my eye
Waited for a couple of muggles to pass by then soon had the cache in hand
Thanks G-2 & Giles TFTC

The Land Down Under! This is the third time I'm passing through but the first they actually let me in! Did some snail-mailing and got the transit visa eventually!
Anyway, we only had 9 hours between flights, so visited GGNZ's friend that lives here and this was the closest cache to her house.
And hidden by a New Zealander! Greetings to Westies! Smile

Ha funny hiding place quite out in the open . Funny I'm trying to pin point a location and as I'm scratching my head I look down at where I'm sitting to be greeted with the cache which my phone is telling me its 10 metres away. Tftc gave me somthing to do whilst waiting for my first aid course to start. Well you never know when you may need to help a fellow cacher

Arrived nearby and crossed the road at the lights as we got closer the dodgy muggle at the bus stop moved on. A quick search and younger UTurned had it in hand while the dodgy muggle met another dodgy muggle up the road. Signed the log and rehid where it was found and left the area to the dodgy muggles. Seems to be a few in this area.

Find #2521

I was attending a Saturday morning kids birthday party in Thornbury before heading to the Red Centre event so I was able to try a few caches in the area. This was the third of three finds before the birthday cake became too much of a lure. Found a good spot to park that was both close and legal which wasn't easy around here! Proceeded on foot and after waiting for a few muggles to pass I spotted the cache and was able to make the grab. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache G--2.

I had arranged to attend GIFF today however I thought that I would grab some caches that were nearby the event venue. The rest of the family had decided that they had other things to do so I was flying solo.

At the GZ there was no foot traffic so I was able to make a quick retrieval. TFTC.
