Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. We set out today for a nice drive in the countryside using Geocaching as our guide. TFTC MattyRX
I was working in the area today and stopped into Wadesville Woolies for a cool after work drink. I would love to be in the water but haven't brought my swimmers. I am not wearing my incognito caching clothes. Hi vis is certainly eye catching. I look very official and intimidating. I have found a suitable tree but am writing my log biding my time whilst swimmers are nearby. The swimmers are looking the other way some distance from me. I seize my chance and find the cache. I move behind the tree to sign the log. A couple of swimmers walk along the path and I wait to reappear. Some swimmers have now moved to the water in front of the tree and I am trapped. I'm definitely feeling weird but I don't want the hiding spot revealed. Finally, a small window of opportunity to replace the cache and leave the scene. Thanks MattyRx for hiding a cache near this lovely waterfall.
Such a nice little walk, we found an unexpected surprise, and will be sure to pay it forward. TFTC
Late last night I decided I needed a nice hike to clear my head. With a hot day forecast, some waterfalls and swimming holes were also high on the list. Looking through options, it seemed that a day outing to the Northern Rivers collecting a few caches would tick all boxes.Having spent the morning off track at Terania Caves, I grabbed a pub lunch at The Channon pub and then considered the best place to cool off with a swim (and a cache). Being unloved and recently replaced, this seemed like a good spot and I wasn't disappointed. It was busy here, but I managed to grab the cache and retreat to the main falls to add my name. However, a family set up on the beach, so I took my time, taking a leisurely swim in the main falls waterhole, even jumping from the lower levels with the rest of the crowd. Finally, it was time to head home . Thankfully the family had moved out of the sun and I was able to replace this one with my muggles around. Have another favourite. This is a great spot. All in good order as would be expected. Thanks for bringing me here, MattyRxPete#7,467
Called by today - this one was indeed missing. It's been replaced in the same spot as before. There's a rock partially covering the entrance to the little nook that hides the cache. There's still a cool breeze pumping out the hole that the cache hides in.
Sounds like this one has been swept away in the floods. I'll replace in coming weeks.
We did not find it but there were lots of holes it could have been in. It probably got flushed away by the floods.
Pretty sure I found the right tree. Could not find the cache though. I think I’m the first one down here post floods though. Loved swimming here as a kid.
First find! took me a while but I found it eventually , log was full tho, but there was another piece of paper there that people had begun to log onto anyways absolutely beautiful location.
Great little hiding spot! This was our first geocache, we added a token and some special stones. We also took a blue paper clip to add to the next cache we find
Thanks Matty, what a lovely place! Had a real good look at what I am sure was the right tree. No luck here today.
What a great location, an absolute Oasis !

My work announced recently that every employee would receive a wellbeing day. This was in the spirit of recuperation and mental health after the year of COVID. It was well received and I spent some time thinking about how I would like to spend it. I settled on a day exploring in Northern NSW. Luckily I was accompanied by my lovely eldest daughter. So the day turned out to be really special.
I took some time at the car park to change into swimmers and a quick dry shirt. Then we wandered down to the swimming hole. Unfortunately it looked still and a little stanky so I didn't get in. Bummer.
Thanks for making the hint so explicit. We made a quick grab and were back in the car in no time. TFTC MattyRX!

#4707:
After spending the night in Nimbin, we were on our way to Gold Coast via some national parks through the mountains.
This was stop number one on a great day out. What a spectacular place! I didn't know what to expect, but this is by far the best swimming hole I've ever been to! And for a while, we had the place to ourselves.
I felt very privileged to have come here, and I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for this cache. So thank you so much, and have a favourite point. TFTC.

There were a few people enjoying the water today seeing as it was a little warmish.
Nobody however in the vicinity of GZ so we easily were able to find the cache and sign the log.
It was a nice little spot to visit and explore.

With a name like that, I just HAD to make this cache a priority while here. This book was one of my favourites as a kid, and one day I hope to get to the Hanging Rock it was based on, but for now, this was going to do. And having found a few caches now by this CO, chances are it would not disappoint.
Arriving at the parking area, after passing a couple of hippies pulled over just further down, we made our way along the track. It didn’t take long to get to GZ and make the find, before we headed over to check out Hanging Rock Falls, and yes, this was certainly another MattyRX hidden gem!
Although it could certainly use some rain here, it was still a most beautiful spot, and not a soul around, until we had taken our photos and admired the scenery, when we noticed the hippies had worked out where we were was where they wanted to be, and were on our way down to investigate for themselves.
Thanks for the cache MattyRX. Have another favourite point from me, as I absolutely love these little hidden beauties!

I thought I had found all the "older" MattyRx caches. Apparently not - so I found out today.
1MinnieMoo had made mention of this one so we decided to go and grab it. There was a couple with a van parked up overlooking the falls and we parked up in front of it.
We soon realised there was a better approach than "down the road and through the bush". The van folk hadn't caught up with that fact yet. We drove on up to the parking and made or way down toward the cache.
We neared GZ and followed the hint to the cache - which was in good condition. We signed the log and re-hid it as found.
We then took a while to "sniff the roses" and check out the beautiful swimming hole. While sniffing said roses, the van couple finally appeared on the path heading down towards us. They finally found that elusive parking
A great spot to visit. Hard to believe this cache has been here over 8 years now. TFTC MattyRx

With a chill in the air there was no discussions on a quick dip here this morning. Lovely spot.
Found with bennyboppers mnance101 and ruzzelz. We were staying at Wadeville Woolies and stopped by before heading out for the day. A beautiful spot and a quick find. Tftc
Out caching with Bennyboppers, Lisylou, Russelz and Mr and Mrs Herbz. Such a beautiful area. TFTC!
Found at 4.00pm, We were camped just up the hill. Looks like a good spot to swim in hot weather. Catching up on a few logs from our holiday.

Decided to go check out the Hanging Rock Falls today. Invited SMS along for the trip. It was a good day with a number of finds. Only a little bit of rain whilst caching.
The falls are so awesome. I love the basalt pillars the water falls over. And the fact that the waterhole guess down and down and then down some more... Love it. Can't wait to return next summer for a swim.
SMS made an interesting point whilst there. The GCA cache here is a much better hide than the GC one by the same CO - it's a great way to see how your hides have changed over time.

In the area grabbing a few caches, we entered from the south with a roadblock, so entered from the north, and really enjoyed the falls.

Maintenance run this weekend, visiting our Northern NSW caches to check them out, and of course to find some new caches in the vicinity.
Your cache, MattyRx, was one of the ones we found, having successfully completed the maintenance run.
What a great spot. Not very much of a flow of water, but that did not deter a few swimmers.
Log signed and replaced as found on 09.02.2019 at 5.00pm. TFTC

Out today on a weekend caching run in the area with RoddyC, Hatzofff & Snickersallan. Stopped here to find this cache. A quick find. SL then returned as found. Not a lot of water running but enough for a dip in the pool.
Found on 9 February 2019 4.08pm. TFTC, MattyRX.

Another Matty waterfall! You deserve a waterfall medal Matty. A quick find as men were jumping off the rocks nearby. Yikes no wonder people come to grief. Thanks Matty
Lovely spot for a cache. Good swim. Pity that visitors here leave such a mess. No one has done this cache for a long time...
What a gorgeous spot. After we had taken pictures we continued along the creek to make a find. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
Thanks for this one, obviously the hide tree is hollow as you can feel the cool air going pass your hand when retrieving the cache
Love this cache dont get to come up this way much but its good when u find something new to see nice little walk down to the swimming hole

It would be hard to find a nicer day to visit this area than we had today. A glorious warm winter's day. The swimming hole looked so inviting though we were sensible enough to know that the water would be cold. There is a warning sign at the beginning and end of the pathway (NOTE: THE PATHWAY IS NOT CLOSED) to say that the lookout platform and stairs down to the waterhole had been washed away in the floods in March. HOWEVER, the area is still easily accessible and the lack of a properly built staircase will be no hindrance to the many who will venture here on a hot day for a swim. They will just walk down the dirt and rocks the same way they did before the council built the stairway in the first place. A really lovely location I was so happy to have discovered today. Thanks for bringing us here MattyRX with a great location for a geocache. Cheers! We gladly signed the log and hid the container with the hinted item. Definitely a favourite point earned here for the beauty of the location!
Having a caching day out with Snickersallan and Aussie Liahona and travelling many untraveled roads and the weather enhanced the day even more. We were pleased to see that you were still able to access the area but just needed to be cautious. Once we were about to leave we took a closer look where the platform used to be. Thanks MattyRx.
Found with Aussie Liahona and joojoo57 whilst enjoying a lovely country drive on a beautiful winters day and picking up a few caches along the way.
This was a very inviting and beautiful location to visit, certainly would be great for families and little ones to spend time here.
The hint provided assisted in a nice quick find and we replaced the very mangled/wet log book, thanks MattyRX and TFTC

We looked under every stone near the big tree, but we are not sure if it is there after the last flood..
Enjoyed a morning walk from our campsite at Wadeville Woolies. A really nice spot. Tftc
Nice location. We had the place to ourselves this morning so it wasn't a problem locating the cache without muggle interference. I can see its appeal especially on really hot days and, dare I say it, the appeal of swinging from a rope into the water hole far below. I guess it all comes down to a matter of timing and whether you want to use your head to break a few rocks. Darwin called it the process of natural selection.

What a fabulous place, not quite warm enough for me to have a dip though. Not too hard a find. The log was very wet but I was able to still sign, I replaced the zip log bag.

I lived in Uki as a child and have never visited this area. A nice place no mugglers around, but it wasn't hot enough for a swim. Quick find, tried to sign the wet log. Needs maintenance. Thanks to xMagoo2u.
*1.01.2024 - Time to start my own account. Cool!Geocaching partner logging all the geocaches since we started geocache together in 22.12.2013.*
What a lovely and interesting spot. We are staying at Wadeville Woolies campsite with some muggle friends and brought them here to find this cache. The geomuts enjoyed the scramble over the rocks and one went in for a paddle. We read the details of this cache to our friends, it's amazing to stand at the edge of the falls and think that the pool could be 100m deep! One of our muggle friends made the find and was interested in our game, not having heard of it before. Thanks for showing us this special place, we love discovering these little gems that only locals know. An FP from us! TFTC.
We would never have known about or come here except for this a cache . Thank you!
Day 6 of the QLD MEGA for me.
After a fabulous loong week-end it is time to go home.
So after packing the car and saying the good bye's I was off towards home.
I am taking the scenic way home.
With only a couple of people here I was ignored while making a quick find.

We are staying in Kyogle for a few days holiday and really enjoying the scenery around this district.
As we arrived at the Hanging Rock Falls parking area 3 cars full of people left . As we neared GZ we saw only 2 muggle couples swimming at the falls. Great.
The coords was pretty spot on and cache was easily found thanks to the clue.
What a great spot - we only paddled to our knees as it was pretty cold.
Thanks for placing this cache in a top spot.

This is what happened. Firstly I come into Williams Road via the long way. This means crossing several timber bridges which state a limit of 20 tonne. I find this a rather generous limit as I don't even know that it will handle a Corolla. Workmen are on the last bridge which means they have to take all their gear off to let me pass. I hone in to the co-ordinates. There are 500 places it could be. I have turned all of them upside down. Disheartened, I rock out to the car and back the way I drove in. The workmen now have to move all their stuff again to let me through. Whilst waiting for them to do this, I read the notes I have jotted down, the penny drops and I now feel I need to go back for another search. Now I can't just do a U-turn and have these workmen upset two more times so I decide by the time I come back through they would probably have finished for the day, problem solved.
On the way back in I accidentally came in via Links Road which is a much better route and would have bypassed all the workmen and bridges. I miscalculated my timing so it now means I am going to try and solve the Picnic at Hanging Rock which is creepy just from the name, at night, with no light, for a cache I couldn't find in broad daylight. Luckily I found it straight up, but it is nowhere near the readings my GPS gave.

Great spot - obviously popular with the locals as it was quite busy the day we visited. Luckily they were in the pool section so we were undisturbed on our hunt & find.
What a beautiful location which I would have passed by if it wasn't for this easy to find cache. Thank you to the owner for placing it.
Find #50, took the long way along Williams Rd to get here, but worth it to finally see these falls. Rope is scary. TFTC.

Track wet and slippery after all the rain but OK with care. Turn right, which tree? Ah there it is. Nice hide, all dry. Took mini torch left dice. Thanks for the weekend tour Matt. CITO.
Spending the weekend with muggle friends who live just 2.41km (OK, about 3.5km by road) from this one, so having run the geo- and non-geo - hounds here in the morning had to come back and find the cache in the afternoon.
With all the recent rain the water was pouring over the falls, with 3 kayakers playing in the whirlpool below. The while we were still there they hauled their craft up to the top and plummeted over the falls, closely followed by Mr Seizer (sans kayak), but my photography wasn't up tot he job so he had to jump again.
After all that I was allowed to head upstream and find the cache.
Took the Travel Race TB out to help it on its way
