.Arrived at this Red Shed at 8am. Its cool and visibility limited with low lying cloud. Quick find here. Cheers
My weekend arrangements have been postponed. So what else can I do? Check out with The Seagnoid for a trip to Keneperu Sounds for the day. Yes! Leave in the dark just after 6am and home after a great day exploring and caching at 6pm.

Arrived here at 8am, for the first cache of the day. No stealth required. Partly because there is only 100m visibilty - lots of fog. Low flying cloud.
Taybeedraggon rings me up - her Saturday got cancelled so how about a trip. Okay, I am in. I was going to research and write up about 15 new caches this weekend, some of which take many hours to write, so a bit of mind-numbing tedium. Dropping that to one day and finding a bunch on the other day sounds like just the tonic.

While on the mission to get WoM 28 just up this road, I grabbed this one too. Easy find, as per description and hint.
So glad no one was around today. As we approached this we were debating whether to grab now or on our return from Manaroa. We stopped at the intersection to decide and I jumped out and made a quick grab. Just as well, as when we returned from Manaroa, there were some farmers around the area and we wouldn't have been able to get it. All good here. tftc
Nice little shed. No activity here so stealth not an issue. Quick find, TFTC B&W
Quick find as we race the rain. Log super wet and unwritable on one side. Signed the other. Tftc
Unlike its namesake, there were no bargains to be had here which meant there was nobody around and the cache was found easily. Tftc.
Quick and easy, thankfully none of the locals spotted us as the location is quite exposed.
Found while driving back from Nopera to Blenheim. Can't go all the way out to the kenepuru sounds and not pick up the geocaches along the road. TFTC

Capperz came up with a plan to cache out the area to the east of Kenepuru head this afternoon, so here I am. A full on afternoon, over 300 km of windy roads and 6 hours of driving. This was a nice quick find. Some more interesting signs nearby. TFTC
When I was on the North Island it was a regular (monthly) visit for an afternoons caching whether it involved a load of park and grabs, or one or more significant walks to grab some pots of gold. With my wanderlust nature not entirely sated after the Christmas break I'd identified a swathe of green box icons over in the Kenepuru Arm of the Sounds and realized there was potential for a high-teens quantity of caches.
Thus enthused I headed off at 1230 from Blenheim with caching buddy G H 6 7 1 0 in the trusty Geo-Discovery (aptly named) across past Portage and those previously visited locations to new territory. After 7 and a half hours driving of twisty, turny roads, and over 300kms added on the clock, we encountered some great views, humorous signs and general good times.
I said to G H about these caches, at home I don't usually read the cache page so get a pleasant surprise as we head towards G Z. Same here, a quirky building in familiar livery

#10234. All was quiet at GZ today, so we didn't have to resort to strategic parking. The shed is certainly eye catching. TFTC.
A very cool wee cottage, hard to miss. Don't think anyone was at home today, so no one observed us while we admired the paint job, then quickly found the cache. TFTC.

Looked in all likely spots but failed to find it plus other recent lookers have tried to no avail. Could be muggled.
Oh no, no joy here for us other than the amusement of seeing that Red Shed.
Well we tried.

A quick find while exploring along this road this afternoon. Nice bit of humour there! Signed log, TFTC
I might not have found it but my son Josh painted the sign on this fence when he was staying in the sounds with his grandparents!
Find #1663. The second find of the first day of a three day stay in Waitaria Bay with friend Myra and hosts and long time friends Helen and Pat - 'the' Pat of Waitaria Bay Sign fame. Love this little Red Shed and to add to the charm, "The Warehouse" sign was made by Pat's grandson. The logbook and plastic bag were pretty wet - you could squeeze the water out! - so replaced with fresh bag and paper the next day. Another great spot, thanks bumandworker - a favourite point from me. SL TFTC
My first trip to this area was in December 2009 with Kiwi Explorer and back then we remarked that this feature probably deserved or would attract a cache. At last I'm back here and there is a cache too. No one out shopping today so I was able to make a quick purchase... I mean cache find at the corner store... TFTC, Biggles
4.50pm. Must admit it would not have been my choice of colour. Were the advertised specials all available here? Couldnt find the checkout to enquire.

The only bargains here today were the cache and replacement log courtesy of Holymu and Hazedarus - cheers to the three of you. TFTC #4564
This was the most distant cache we aimed for today. When arriving at GZ we were a little dismayed to find someone at the Red Shed feeding the ponies but the long grass was our saviour and the retrieval was done without being seen. The log was mush so we have replaced it and also added a snaplock bag. Before we left again another local kindly stopped to check whether we were lost or not. A great drive out here but time to head for home now. TFTC.
With the forecast to good to be true off we went for a weekend camping at the Sounds. This cache was the last one for this expedition. What on earth to expect? Shed, check. Red, check. Then a muggle tending the horses. Stealth saved the day. Replaced soggy log and bagged. TFTC
quick find as we were passing. log is very very wet, there was no plastic bag protecting it from the damp, we couldn't really write on it as it was just too soggy. TFTC
Funny sign, probably an IP breach. Log book waterlogged and unsignable - sorry no spares.
A find after the event cache at Hopewell last night. Sadly a wet day so we are pleased to knock this one off. TFTC at a whimsical spot
The junior model seems to also keep junior hours and was closed today. And we were also a couple of weeks too early for the cricket (which pleased half the team). But the cache was not closed - although Mrs Sobad did have to call for reinforcements as she missed it... and has no idea how she could have. SoBad thne left her to sign it anyway. Thanks for the quirky cache site.
I was expecting to get a bargain but there were no specials today. However they are looking for volunteers for a game of cricket in a couple of weeks time. Those interested should register at the red shed. TFTC.
This was the last cache for this year. A very successful caching year indeed. When I ws still inspecting a magic stone, PurdiePurdie already hold the cache in her hands. TFTC
This is the first time we have managed to figure out how to put a photo on a cache page.....ho...hum.... you say. Fair enough, but this totally dumb non geek is happy. Hope you travel safe and get a bargain. b&w
