14-Aug-24
Away for a few days on Eyre Peninsula to try and get some more caches.Lot's of driving between the caches this time.Luckily I left when I did, as the next night there was a big storm and large hail. That wouldn't have been fun in the swag.I came here on my last visit to Cleve. Today the cache was quickly found. I don't think the cache was in that location on my last visit as there's no way I could have missed it. I'd say it's a replacement from someone who couldn't find the original.TFTC

Well today is the day I get to hide my first geocache, I thought this park looked like the perfect spot. Alas, there is already a cache here. So I had better find it. I navigated to an open space, hmm not much here so I picked the closest possible hide and began my search. Eventually, I spotted the thing out of place and signed the log. I also replaced the log as there was only one spare spot, I will get the full log to you soon Tweety2. TFTC!

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that. This might have been just over the road from last nights camp, but it was still very tricky to find. I am glad all the locals were at the camp kitchen over the road and not here. Thanks for the cache Tweety246596.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & GPS Maze Rutherglen A#522**Albida**

Headed back west after a tour over east, we had a short layover in whyalla last night, and headed for a couple of days in Elliston today before the long legs. Thought we'd have morning tea at the Cleve bakery, only to find it closed on a Saturday, so made do with a visit to the supermarket, bringing it over here.to enjoy in the shade. Of course it meant I could also pick up a smiley without much to do from the muggle man. Many thanks for the hide Tweety2

Took off to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!

Came past late at night, and was glad of this as no muggles to watch the extensive search of GZ...
little beastie eventually found and signed Twisted

Many thanks to Tweety2 for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map Cool

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!

*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres Surprised
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]

Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink
Keep your distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting Cool

Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

Catching up with missed logs from our trip home.

Heading home from WA using geocaching as a guide and an excuse to stretch the legs. With so many caches to do I am mainly concentrating on Earth cache's virtual's and adventure labs because you know you can do those even if the area is full of muggles .

This was quite an interesting little park with a lot of history. We were very happy when the nano was found quite quickly and our name was added to the log before returning it to where we found it

Thanks Tweety2 for the cache.

Here ready for our Yeldinkie Wier 5km parkrun tomorrow morning, the last one remaining in SA that I have not done yet.

Looks like we'll have to come back again for this one Sad.

Day 7 of our Eyre Peninsula caravan odyssey with the geo-pup, from Cleve to Tumby Bay

We came a couple of days ago and had an extensive search without luck. We contacted a previous finder, who confirmed we were looking in the right places. Contacted the CO who confirmed later in the day that it was missing.

Dropped by this morning after camping 2 nights at Yeldulknie Weir for a quick grab before the rain started.

Thanks for the quick replacement, and thanks for all your caches in the area.

Searched for a LONG time, gps was very erratic so couldn’t rely on in alone.

31-Jul-20
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.

Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.

This was a cool park with the old historic relics placed here. We definitely didn't think this was a 2.0 difficulty, as trying to find a nano in the shelter and/or surrounds was quite time consuming! There was a myriad of places that this cache could be, and so took a while to sort through. Eventually when we were ready to give up, I caught side of the evil cache container. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A rethink to a 3.0+ difficulty is probably more warranted. Thanks anyway Tweety2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

31-Jul-20
Stopped by this one on the road, this cache took way to long to find, after looking every where finally davidwazza came up with the goods

Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

10-May-20
Got it on the second attempt, as the comments say, trust the GPS!!

11-Feb-20
Tiny cache but found it. Interesting info in the park. Stop and read it!

Found while participating in the 2019 BikeSA Annual Tour. It took me longer to extract the log than find the cache. A nice park.

Thanks for the cache Tweety.

24-Aug-19
This was our first cache hunt for the morning. Despite accurate coordinates, it took a few minutes of searching possible hide locations before the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Tweety2 for the cache.
