Located with Ricardinho A quick stop along the main road heading to Takaka. RNZ hadn't got this one on previous trips, so we stopped to grab it. Off to Pohara for the long weekend camping in the tent which will be fun Weather is looking great for the long weekend which is a bonus as well! RNZ had a few caches he wanted to target on the way over the Takaka hill & up the start of the Cobb Valley Road. We couldn't go too far today because we needed to set up camp. Stopped in Takaka township & did the Adlabs there, saving the 2 bonus caches for another day. Plus it was too busy to find them today, muggles foiling our plans! TFTC

Another quick find here on the way into town. TFTC B&W. Travelling to Pohara for a long weekend break with RG72, and todays caching goal was pretty much to get as many as we could comfortably on the way there. We got most of those on the road over. A couple of these were a bit old, which made me wonder why i had not got those sooner. But there has also been an effort by local cachers to fill some of those holes up the hill, which is much appreciated. We dabbled a bit down the road to cobb valley, but not too far as we have tents and stuff to put up at the campground so will leave that for another time, but we did do the Ad Labs in town. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the cut and paste.

After an exciting day yesterday and great visit to the labyrinth rocks this morning we are heading back to Nelson.Day 2 of The Wellingtonians are back tour with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo. After the last trip, with more caches for us to find, we decided we had to return. And, of course, there will be days of laughter, usually at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Apologies for the late log -I am well behind with my logging. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache bumandworker.

(# 8148) On a caching trip to the Nelson/Golden Bay area for a repeat trip for the four amigos. Day two of this trip took us from Takaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. Tripping with NZ_B, TwigNZ and YetiNZ. Another day full of hilarity with nobody being spared being the butt of the jokes. Signed the log with NMTY.

Thanks bumandworker for bringing me here.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. We had such a good time that just a few months later we decided to do it again. The same team to the same location, with the same agenda. The only real goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding more of the unfound geocaches in the area.

Day two of this trip took us from the labyrinth rocks of Tākaka over the hill to Kaiteriteri, through Motueka and back to Nelson. We stopped at many caches along the way, and this was one of them.

Most of our finds here we signed the log with the collective name of N.M.T.Y to represent the four of us: NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, and YetiNZ.

---
Thanks to bumandworker for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

08-Sep-23
Back in June, four Wellingtonians (NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ and YetiNZ) came down to visit the Nelson region. We had such a blast that we decided to do it again, and here we are!
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.

Day 2, and having spent 1 night in Takaka we are driving back down to Nelson via Kaiteriteri and Motueka and various stops along the way.

A quick find at GZ, although I'd probably be called pedantic if I pointed out that the hint should really be "where concrete meets stone".
All is fine here, thank you for setting this one up.

Bit of a big day today, I have to do a drivetest on the Kaiteretere South vodafone site, then a highway drive between Motueka and the Spit. But I intend to grab a couple of minute caches for the South Island 300 minutes challenge.

Quickly located the nicely hidden cache.

TFTC bumandworker, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 12 today, making this find #3870

In Nelson for some relative's birthdays. Working remotely most of the week, but took today off to cache. My eldest grandson and I went for a drive to Takaka and back (from Stoke) to grab a few challenges, do some walks, and top up my 1.5/1.5 find numbers. 38 caches all up including 5 labs. Cache easily found. TFTC.

#8553. I have been staying in Takaka this week but today is time to head back over the hill to Nelson. I decided to locate some of the caches along the main road on this side of the Takaka Hill. This was one of them. Parked nearby and headed over to GZ for a nice quick find. Surprised this is only the second visit this year. Its hardly a big hike to reach the cache! Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks bumandworker for hiding it here.

This weekend us capperz are over the hill to Golden Bay and celebrating. It's our wedding anniversary on Friday followed by my 50th birthday on the Saturday. So we looked around for a decent place to go for the weekend and the potential of this beautiful area won out (this time). Only grabbed the one cache on the Friday night (there was much drizzly rain and poor visibility) trip over the hill(s) so there was much anticipation for what was next. Both the Saturday of my half-century milestone and the Sunday were bathed in golden sunshine and the temperature was perfect; neither too hot nor too cold.
Day 2 and a few in and around the region before we head back over the hill again. I had a plan which required me to get a sample of sand from Wainui and would be rude not to go look for the caches to the waterfall too.
Nice and easy here on our way back home

This MP had quite a varied range of ministerial portfolios during his time it seems.

A quick find, and a longer ponder as to what a Minister for Rehabilitation would have been responsible for.

We had a lovely weeks holiday in the beautiful Golden Bay and we were heading back over the hill for part two of our holiday. We had to stop by as the 2 year old cachelet piped up "I need to go toilet". We pulled over and lo and behold a cache is nearby. Quick pee and quick cache. Rest assured the pee was nowhere near the cache. The cross looked stunning with the misty hills in the background.

Thanks for the cache bumandworker.

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Sixth day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. Driving to south and heading to Christchurch Mega event. After ferry ride from North Island we continued our road trip by driving west side of South Island.

We hurry to Wainui beach to collect some sand samples to one 5/5 Earth cache before high tide. Luckily water was still pretty low when getting there. When heading back to Nelson we had time to find some caches.

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

Today we took a ferry ride to Picton and our road trip continued to Richmond. This was fast find. TFTC!

NZDi and I have been planning a long weekend in Golden Bay for a month or so and today these plans came into fruition. Of course a long weekend out of town would not be complete without the odd cache thrown in and so a few caches were planned along the way. The weather back in Blenheim had been crap all week and the forecast for the weekend was not that flash either, however as soon as we got across the Whangamoa's we could see this part of the country was bathed in sunshine.

Today is the final day of our long weekend and the caches we get are essentially going to be Park n Grabs on the road trip home. This has been my best geocaching weekend ever and Golden Bay has some awesome caches to find. We have only scratched the surface and are looking forward to coming back in the not to distant future.

The highlight of the trip would have to be the Rawhiti Caves Earthcache, but there are too many other awesome caches as well. Thanks to all the CO's (especially the prolific bumandworker) for all your caches.

NZDi gets a little uncomfortable searching for caches near cemetaries so fortunately for this one we didn't have to enter the grounds. A QEF PnG on the road trip back to Blenheim.

The third and final day of our Labour weekend trip to Golden Bay. There was quite a bit of rain overnight and some drizzle early morning, but mainly it was fine during the day so the weather didn't really put much of a dampener on our trip (apart from long wet grass and mud at some locations).
Heading back home now and picking up some caches we drove past on our way here on Saturday. A easy find, then read the plaques. Must have been an important personage here. TFTC.
