GCJazz found Time 'n' Tide GC33ZQ5 at 2:26pm.
This was 514 for GCJazz on 19 September 2021.
Found today with trekka80 and ShelleynSteve. I previously attempted this cache in 2015 so it was great to turn it into a smiley today and continue to the next level of the Wonders of the World.
Thanks for the cache Bessie's-Mob

Visiting relatives and managed to get a ride over to this one. Beautiful spot thanks and fav point allocated
Easy little grab once we got a lift with our muggle son in his tinny. The cache is in good condition, signed and replaced. TFTC

I can’t believe I almost forgot to log this one.
I was fishing up and down the river, and knew this one was here, so, leaving my muggle mate in the boat, I beached it up nearby, and found the cache in a good spot, high and dry.
Cheers

Staying in the Caravan Park and thought it was a great day for a push bike ride, found myself in an easy place and low tide to go searching, A very different and interesting place to hide a cache, thank you for the fun outing.
Evans Head
Staying for a couple of days catching up with muggle friends & finding a couple of caches as well.
Great ocean scenery from many locations.
Saw this cache in the river this morning but it was pouring with rain, after lunch the tide was very low & hubby walked out to the island & located the cache.

Thanks to to little bro. We made it here at high tide!! Found with Boofhead20752 and Davy. Been wanting to get this for several years now. A big to cache owner and hide. Tftc
Found - if you know where to look, this can be found. Here’s a photo for the doubters.
Hunted around without luck today. Wonder if recent heavy rain has moved it? However GPS also jumping around, will try to come back for another attempt.
Loved it. For every one who is a little frightened by the comment: check for closest entrance point to the cache (from the street 260 m) and wait for the lowest tide. No problem at all. A very fun cache for everyone!
Normally based in the United Kingdom, Team Luffness had made it over to Australia. We were on a road trip from Melbourne to Brisbane, and were staying a few days in Evans Head. Today we were extremely fortunate to be lent a pair of kayaks from a family friend, so the hunt was afoot for this tricky cache. Mr Luffness grew up on Bundjalung Road and he spent many happy years yabbie pumping, fishing and boating very near here. Bit of a hunt today for this one, until it finally clicked that as the island is completely covered at extreme tides, then the cache must be . . . . oh, hang on, there it is! Absolutely brilliant cache location, another well deserved favourite point. Continued on further up the river to Oyster Creek, and walked to the midden near Iron Gates too.
#723 Thank you very much for the geocache. Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log. Personal trackable dipped for mileage. [^]

We're spending the weekend at the nearby campsite and have been eyeing up this cache. We've got our kayaks with us so we checked out the tides. With careful precision we planned our assault on the island. Hmmm, high tide at 1.08pm. Ok, so we launched our craft from the campsite just after 12.30pm and pedalled our way west. With the assistance of the incoming tide it didn't take long to reach the bridge although we still had a little way to go. The water was a beautiful azure and we could see straight to the bottom. Not many fish about today. As we drew near we realised there'd be some wading involved as most of the island was just under water. We chose a spot to land and Mr. Herbz forged ahead through the mangroves. Mrs. Herbz followed more cautiously behind as she had the phone in her hand. In Mr. Herbz enthusiasm he passed right by GZ! With Mrs. Herbz more cautious approach she was a little more observant and had clocked the cache before she'd reached it. She called out to Mr. Herbz who quickly retraced his steps and extracted the logbook. Once signed and replaced we found a pleasant spot for a picnic lunch whilst waiting for the tide to turn and an easy paddle back to camp. TFTC
Wow!! What a cache! Findaroo and I had a ball getting this one. $15 Kmart blow up boat helped us through the deep mid haha! Left new log and zip lock bag. Cache #50 wahoo!!!! TFTC!
Found it with looking looking. Used a little blow up boat when the mud got too deep.
A few months ago we set off to find this cache, tide was not being nice, very strong outgoing tide, our team of 3 made it to the spot, ok leave muggle hubbie to hold the 3 kayaks while DiamonJs and I look, nice easy find, sign the log and back to the kayaks to find a nice tide that had completed it run out and was about on the turn, so a lovely smooth ride back to our launch area and then we forgot to lodge a found log, must have enjoyed the day to much. Thanks for a great cache, will remember it for a while.
We did this find as a family some months ago why it wasn't logged I will never know, the reason I do know it wasn't was driving past it with friends yesterday and they were asking what the bing going off on GPS was, me nothing, drop them back to accommodation and back I race to spot thinking a new cache, nope just one we forgot to log many months back, think it was just before Brother Colin. I remember our kayak trip well and know we had a ball doing it. TFTC
Ok. Now that I am sopping wet, I have the trackable and will place it in a place that it is more likely to actually travel from. Btw the log is disintegrated and couldn't sign it. Needs replacing. Awesome blue crabs on the walk across everywhere. Interesting spot....TFTC.
Nice low tide walk through the mud that is knee deep!. Couldn't sign the log as it is soaked so the log needs replacing. Tftc
Today I am heading to Evans Head to find a few caches.
Now that I am here there is occassional showers so I am wet, but still finding caches.
I had a couple of hours to kill before low tide to attempt this one. And the sun came out. [^]
I found an entry point about as close as you can get in a car. 200m from the cache. It is 2hrs before low tide and I headed across. Just over knee deep in the last 5m.
A quick find once at GZ.
Thanks for the cache.

Sometimes caching needs advance planning - this was one of those times.
We didn't think about tides until we were in Evans.
The tide was 20 minutes from high - so we will give this a miss until another day.
Really looking forward to it.

Grate cache, hight tiyed ,prefaced opportunity for the first maiden journey in my Xmas present paddeled out to the island loved it TFTC
I tried 12 months ago but it was missing then. Today it was there.
I also discovered a couple of alternate trail heads for this one.
They are:
Trail head 1: S29 07.328 E153 25.299
Trail Head2: S29 07.165 E153 25.427
I used trail head 2 and only had to cross a small, very shallow stretch of water. I think trail head 1 would have even less water to cross.

Hahahaha took my Canadian mate just fresh off the plane to this one. As we are walking i inform him that the large circles on the ground are landings of sting rays. At that point it was too far in for hime to turn around. So we continued and as i told him this he asked what are the chances that he will stand on a sting ray, i told him around 3% as i said this took one step and stood on a stingray tail. which i didn't tel him that i did until we finished. Oh side bar we had no shoes and walk the whole way.......
but i enjoyed the walk and he had a great time experiencing our culture. She'll be right mate.

Turned up to Evan's Head. Kept half an eye on the tide. It was high, did a few caches, had a lunch date, now the tide was low so not knowing whether it was going in or out it was now or never. We ditched everything in our pockets. Halfway to the cache I wondered whether I should have ditched my non-waterproof watch. I did bring a change of clothes with me in the case I had to swim for it but now it was a case of can I swim with one arm out carrying a GPS in my watch arm. It turned out it didn't come to that. It was just a case of making my shorts very short. We waded through the mangroves which somewhat felt like quicksand. We avoided the oysters. The cache was high and dry.
Finally checked on this today and container was missing. Have replaced with similar.all good to go again. Apologies to those who searched without success.

Lovely early morning adventure with the jnrs.... they loved the soldier crabs

Treacherous walk when not wearing foot protection
Container was really hard to open but hey I found it and I signed it and I didn't die or break my phone
That's a win

With a low tide the crossing was easy. GZ was guarded by hoard of soldier crabs. Cache located and log signed.

1 cache, 2 inflatable kayaks, 3 months of planning, 4 adults, 5 families, 6 river crossings, 7 pool noodles, 8 soldier crabs and 9 children (ages 5 to 10). What awesome fun!
Had planned to do this before I got here so bought a old set of joggers down. Got wet shorts just above the knees but no mud and was a good walk over to the cache. Was not sure what type of container I would find but a well thought out. This is the second cache I have had to wade through water to get. Thanks Bessie's-Mob for a great cache.
What an awesome cache! An adventure and a half. Wish I'd taken advice to wear shoes though! Oh well a small cut won't keep me from finding the rest of the caches in Evans! Woohoo!
What a fun adventure!! the direct route isn't always the quickest! We learnt that the hard way.. Knee deep in sand is definitely a Cause for a great story though (and a great workout) thanks for a great cache!
Even with a boat it still would've been tricky. Nothing like wading through the river and mud to get the geocache. Just added to the experience
This cache is our 3,100th. A nice one for a minor milestone. Thanks for placing the cache here Bessie's-Mob. I think we enjoyed getting out to it ha, ha. We were fortunate to stop here near the bottom of the tide. We both had shoes we could use that could get wet. Our difficulties arose when a number of places had us trying to fight the muddy quick sand that wanted to claim our bodies. Fortunately we didn't get sucked down beyond our knees and fortunately it was only in a few places. Suck, squelch, suck, squelch, pull up, yank, suck, squelch. We saw some beautiful sand crabs in several large groups and found ourselves on the sidelines for a macho standoff between two males who both wanted to claim the same hole in the sand. The cache was a quick find once we were at GZ and it was only the walk back that was left. The tide had started to come in, but we got back to the geovehicle safely - thanks. Now, where could we wash off this river mud that is all over our shoes and legs? lol! A great sense of satisfaction was felt for our accomplishment so we award this cache another favourite point. (We feel that it would be easy by boat but at least a 4T by foot, ha, ha, ha.)
With the initial aim of getting some caches in certain distance zones for Cookie, and to get some higher rated D/T caches for MVMB and our youth group it was fairly certain that we would have a go at this one.
Not deep enough for GCookie claim for his challenge, and the number of mosquitoes making up for the shallowness of the river it was a quick dash on over and find the cache before being carried away.
Left a pen, took nothing

(Late logging of Find - 1/2/13) Found with MAP's and Cookie while on a road trip North.
Nice to be able to share the driving rather than having to pedal.
The mozzies didn't help with the Finding of it, but with Cookies insect repellent we got there.
Another of the Grid filled (I think), but it will help to offset a few of the lower Terrain ratings done.
TN, Left a bottle opener we got from having the radiator repaired in Grafton on the way.

1945 GAFF1 I was wondering if this would qualify me for requirement 7/ of the MGSc, GC2J6AY. Quoting:
"7.You need to find and log one cache that is accessed either by boat, by swimming, or by wading at least waist-deep to an island or isolated area completely surrounded by a river. What is an island? If you're not sure it will qualify, then it probably isn't a proper island. This one needs either a boat/canoe or you need a complete change of clothes. Just getting your feet or trousers wet isn't going to qualify."
Okay, missed out on that, but it WAS FUN. I didn't even get my board shorts wet, as the tide was just starting to come in (I think).
So, on out collective road trip to Qld, to help me get x 75 caches in a month (requirement 5) MAP's MVMtBiker and myself stopped off here just as the sun was going to down to wade across the sand / mud flat. Must get myself some newer Volleys, as the mangrove roots were almost going through the worn out soles.
A couple of circles, and extra eyes looking and cache soon in hand. Nice and dry.
Left: Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen, and a mini log book.
Brought through for mileage: Through: CITO Tag, 3Bros, Lighthouses, IconicBridges, B2B, Baa, Neigh Neddy and Oink, Signal 2006, and 100 Finds achievements coins, Red Racing Ninja #4 TB, and trackable shirt. (Tho I'm not sure that the Red Racing Ninja would have fitted)

Found with waldenclan on their 1000 cache. Geomum was stuck in the mud and geodad tells her it's all part of the adventure - until geodad sinks to his knees and then lost his balance and landed bum first into the mud. We tried really hard to not laugh pull him out. It took geomum, and geosib the Bearz and me to pull him out. Well it's all part of the adventure according to geomum. Tftc tnln.
Found with waldenclan and Nebji. I looked like a breeze walking across the sand until you started sinking in it. I hate mud and geomum hates mud. We did it for the 1000 cache and watching geodad stuck in the mud and then land in the mud. He had wet muddy shorts for the rest of the day. Tftc tnln.
Well what a adventures this turned out to be. We stopped for lunch on the river before we set off to survey the river and work out which way to approach this one. We saw some other people walking along the sand and though it looked easy enough. It turned out to be very different. We had to choose our path carefully as we were just sinking straight into the muddy sand flats. after much laughing as well all struggled to get through, we finally made it to GZ.
Soon found the cache but we had to be discrete as there were a few fishing muggles close by keeping a close eye on what we were up to.
Now it was time to make the journey back!! This was a great way to make our 1000th find.
Grabbed the TB.
Thanks Bessie's-Mob for a great adventure.

This one was fun! True to form, we plunged in, this time with Close-by & made it without getting too wet. Only lost one pair of pants!
What fun! In borrowed shoes and rolled up pants I set off with Gourmetgazelle across the first small channel. Then I realised we had another "river crossing" to face. My pants stayed dry, but I was not so confident about a dry return journey. Our shoes were repeatedly sucked in by the mud. We made it to high and dry ground to locate the cache quite quickly. And yes, my rolled-up pants got wet on the way back. (I do have ducks' disease!) Thanks for the great adventure. Left TB
We sank down low before we were raised up high. Thanks to Gourmetgazelle and Close-by for their assistance with this one (and geokids). TFTC
Was a good hike to the location and Foxyy had a bit of difficulty finding it, but it didnt take to long for us to find it
Went down with cache buddy foxyy and found it not long after arrival on the island. great adventure cheers!
Our expedition was almost quite dangerous due to a stingray! But excellent spot and had a great time on my first geocaching experience.
Were lucky enough to come across this cache at the right time of day. Sent geohubby and geoson off across the sand where they found the cache easily.
Great adventure, even with our littlies! They loved it.
But beware the sandflies!!
Swapped ball for party popper.

Found this cache on a cold, wet and windy morning. Temperature was hovering around 15c as I hit the water. The tide was about a third the way in, however the water still only managed to get about thigh deep.
Very boggy and muddy close to the Iron gates road but then the sand firmed up and it was an easy walk to the cache.
Signed log and headed back to the car.
Thanks

Arrived at location purely by accident at low tide, although that didn't matter as this was hopefully going to be a FTF and we were going regardless of tide level. Have fished from the bridge on numerous occasions and looked across to this island and wondered what it was like over there, now we know. Arrived on sand bar, parked our ship and walked to GZ, found quickly and you little ripper, another FTF. Glad it didn't take us long as tide came in quick and was about to take our ship away. Great Fun Cache.
Thanks Bessie's-Mob
Thanks Bessie's-Mob
Congratulations Fergclan for FTF. Glad you didn't step on any stingrays like geodad did on our way over. The language was priceless.
