Melbourne 2024. XPT. Concert. Discord Mates. Geocaching.A quick find with the hint. TFTC
Thank you for this cache! On an geocaching evening walk around the (windy!) city, managed to find this in between lab tours.
We are now in and around Melbourne on our trip. We admire the city, its great buildings, enjoy the parks and the Yarra and let ourselves be guided by the many containers and lab caches. This way we once again come to places and locations that we would not have been able to get to without caching. Many thanks to the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
Melbourne Day 2 - Exploring the city center, for real this time as I ended up going more into the gardens during Day 1tftc ! Greetings from France
Trying to find a geocache here ages ago feels really familiar for some reason but I dont have a DNF on this cache. In any case this time it was a quick and easy find with fortunately not too many muggles around. TFTC!
It was deserted here this arvo and I really enjoyed doing the lab while I was here. Great spot. TFTC
TFTC:) had to be careful because there are many people around here but found it fast and easy
Went for a long walk around Melbourne this morning - saw markets, cemeteries, places of higher education, archaeological dig sites, other cachets in the wild, chocolate crackles at an event and a game of cricket. The morning started overcast and threatening to rain, but ended up sunny and pleasant. Found this one quickly thanks to a nudge from one of the bar staff in the place next door. TFTC
I had to act *really* casual-like, as there were a few diners around the corner - but doing the nearby Adventure Lab have me some extra time to get the job done. Also, using the reflection made locating the cache easier. One of the more interesting places in the city! TFTC
Last day in Melbourne, on this trip to Australia. Just had to find one more cache . Many greetings from Denmark. Tftc.
TFTC:). Nice Historical walk. Took my time with this one reading all the historical information within the area before searching and making this find.C.C
Quick find. Enjoyed walking around this bit of history as I head to meet others for dinner. TFTC.
Last day in Melbourne. Had a look in the Museum and found this cache on the way to Myers place. Had to wait a minute for some locals to pass by before I could search but it was quickly found.Logbook signed at 12:44 Saturday, 28th September. Cache number 396, TFTC!
With half the alley closed for cleaning had to wait for an opening to grab and sign.
Prior to an event at Melbourne Central this evening, I spent a bit of time caching in Carlton and the Little Lon precinct in the CBD. Like others, I found the log to be full, and having suitable logs in my possession, I was able to replace the full log.I may be able to do some more maintenance on this cache in a few days time. Thanks The Artful Dodgers for placing this Traditional Cache, enhancing the game board and adding to our enjoyment.
Can here after a heavy Fathers Day lunch with my cousins. After a quick search my sister found it, her first find! Logbook is full.TFTC
Another mad dash into the city this afternoon for another appointment.I have not been into the city this much in years except for the monthly dinner event at Melbourne Central.I remember exploring this area a few years ago and it is quite interesting to find and read all of the plaques. There were some very interesting characters around here as well back then. The archaeological digs that have gone on around here has unearthed some very interesting items that are now on display.Cache was soon located and I was able to squeeze my name into a spot. Thanks The Artful Dodgers TFTC.
Out in the city for dinner and a spot of caching. Grabbed the nearby ad lab and then thought I'd get the cache while I was here. Cache isn't where the clue is and very visible so not sure how long it will last. Log book also full, I squashed my name in there. Tftc
Visiting Melbourne for a few days and decided to explore the area by caching. This was one of the caches I decided to visit and happy to say I came away with the find.
A little queen indeed. Suitably fitting after seeing "Six" nearby, which was all about queens! The little blighter was near but not on the hints - tucked in a window frame - may not be as attractive as once was??? A cache a day keeps the boredom away... [:o)] with Purrfect Di of course. Thank you for this cache listing The Artful Dodgers and it's ongoing care. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Purrfect Di helps out a lot. And even Jack. Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)] I do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log... someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs. Is that all? Oh well, thanks for reading!Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! Much catching up of logs lately, as barely enough time to cache around work and logging has hit a pause... but, you know, prioriities... work's just gotta leave time for a cache and notes everywhere! C'est fini... For now... ... until then Ce sera !-------------------------------Oh wait... have you snagged a tag lately ? Get out there and see snagthetag dot com for a fun side game that gives f t f chasers and sparkly thing chasers something extra fun to do... It's a game where giving a little and becoming a hider shows your support and keeps the fun alive for all. And there are NO BL**DY MINT TINS so it must be good Enjoy
Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground at Melbourne. As we made our way from the Royal Exhibitionist building to the state library we took a small detour to be able to look for this cache. The hint was helpful and we found the cache soon.TFTC!
The hint is so clear and easy grab. The only challenge is to put the logsheet back into the container.TFTC!
Good little hide and easy to grab. Looked on wrong side first due to bad gps, but got there!!
Visiting Melbourne and looking for some caches of course. This one I could find. Thanks for the cache
A tourist wander around CBD...Took a lil bit of searching, using other logs as a guide.TNLNSL Thanks
A quick find after initially searching the black sign framethe cache was soon found after moving into the alley. TFTC
Took a while as gps was jumping around but quick find once we saw a photo in a log. TFTC
Found on another brief footy, family and friends trip to Melbourne and Geelong. Quick find at a reasonably quiet GZ, an interesting variation of a classic container. Amazing location, it feels like a hidden gem of the city. TFTC!
It's the last day in Melbourne before moving on to Alice Springs early tomorrow morning. Did some more walking around the city and collected up four more finds.
Found in the company of Rabbitto, Long John Silva and ivss_xx after meeting up at the nearby event. With satellite signals bouncing off the walls, it took a little while to find what the clue was alluding to. In the end, we found two identical caches. They are now next to each other. Thanks to the Artful Dodgers for the cache.
11:50FITW Muzza, Rabbitto, Long John SilvaNot one, but two nanos! After the nearby event, three of us headed towards this cache. Took a bit of walking round and round until we spotted the black bars. GPS signal is understandably not the greatest around here.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, The Artful Dodgers!#10751
After a nearby event, I wandered up here with Muzza, Rabbitto and ivss_xx to check out this cache. Although the GPS were wandering around a bit, it didn't take our collective efforts long to find the cache. After we all had signed the log, I was putting the cache back when I came up with a second container... a throw down??? Left them both there together for the CO to sort out. Thanks to **The Artful Dodgers** for this cache.
In the city today at en event just down the road from this cache so set off to find it afterwards. The hint was very helpful because my gps was all over the place. There are actually two cache containers side by side at the location. The log in the first one was very full but squashed a signature in - probably illegible. When replacing it I located second container, this log had space so signed it. Lovely area. TFTC
Headed into the city today to try and clear out some CBD caches. Being a Sunday morning there wasn't a muggle to be seen and the cache was found after a little search. Finding two containers at the one location is a first for me.
We had a really fun afternoon on a sunny Saturday walking around the city and picking off some of the caches around. Interesting stories in this part of the CBD, we spent some time reading the signs and enjoying the quiet in the middle of the city. The cache was a quick find, though there were two containers?! We only signed one of the log books. TFTC
In Melbourne for an AFL girls weekend. Go Port Adelaide. We just completed the nearby adventure labs and had been walking back and forth due to GPS bounce. TFTC, found with Billy and Ali.
The hint made it an easy find! Bundled this with the people of little lon adventure lab for a nice walk around.Tftc! Found with Jess and Ali
Found the cache (and its twin) after a quick search. Had to dodge a few vaping muggles in the alley.
17 April 2024 4:58pmOut and about continuing my walk towards the event I found myself in this little corner doing the adlab that is here. Looking around I found that my phone had taken me to the wrong side of the building. A quick readjustment and the cache, or rather two caches were found at GZ. Was a bit confused but had a laugh at the end of it all. Thanks for the caches..... and the little adventure!
easy find once i gave up on using gps and matched the location on the geocaching map with the correct GZ on google maps. as others have said, there are two caches?! one logsheet was full and one was damp and jammed in the container
Haha- after trying in the wrong spot before, I finally found THEM.? There are2 caches of which the log of one is full. ( smaller one) . TFTC
Thank you! Happy to make the find here while exploring the area. Strangely found two caches, but that is better than finding none. Just signed one.
Second time around and a hint later, knew exactly what to do and picked it up in secondsTFTC
Wow, that is little. Kidlets struggling to get it back together but we'll get there. A quick cache in the morning before day's adventures or we will forget. Off to Old Melbourne Gaol now. Thanks
Day 13 of our roadtrip in Australia. Well, no roadtrip today, as we're now in Melbourne. The car will have a day off and we'll be exploring Melbourne walking the streets. The CBD seems quite compact, but we'll probably still walk a lot. As usual, we're combining sightseeing and geocaching. The city seems pretty cool, from what we've seen yesterday upon arrival. First physical cache in Melbourne. Went surprisingly well, lot's of muggles here. Interesting area! Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo
On our last day in Melbourne exploring theis amazing city. Interesting history and great exploring. TFTC.
With the help of the clear hint and my selfie camera made a quick find here. Next trick was extracting, signing, and replacing the extremely full log! Tftc
[9073] Holidays in Australia, day 18, final day. This night we go home to Europe, but we used the last day to explore the city of Melbourne by foot. It was a hot day and we enjoyed the shadow in the alleys, lanes and shopping arcades. We found some traditional geocaches and played some virtuals, so we got a good impression of the town. This one belonged to our finds. TFTC!
A huge thank you to the cache owner for creating and maintaining a wonderful cache. EP79 and I have embarked on a three-month long geocaching trip across the globe, and we are both grateful and thrilled to discover new places and new friends. The first part of our trip is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. We arrived in Melbourne on the Overland. Today, we went to the city centre exploring the parks and streets and geocaching on the way. The Queen of Harlotry was one of our stops.Sorry for logging with a delay. The trip was really busy, but at least I get to revisit these caches again and enjoy great memories. Many thanks for the invite to a beautiful place and for a wonderful geocaching adventure. Greetings from Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe.
Thank you for the cache!Another day of geocaching and exploration in Melbourne with Ironford. We started at the Docklands, went to see the arena, followed the river into the centre (more precisely walked upstream), stopped at the library, visited the Royal Exhibition Grounds as a UNESCO location, and finished the day in the laneways getting a burger and icecream. We also bought a new bottle of sunscreen because today was HOT! Coming from central European winter, the weather was amazing, though. It's great how many little hidden places you can find literally a few steps away from bustling crowds. The GPS arrow was pointing slightly off, but we were able to figure out the hide and log the cache quickly.
Second time lucky! Melbournians are lucky this historical piece of our history has survived. Thanks to The Artful Dodgers for creating and maintaining this cache. SL TN LN. It took me four attempt to get the log back into the cache. The log is getting tacky and is in two pieces.
#2919 This is my day 272, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia. After visiting Brisbane, Tasmania, and South Australia, now we are at our final stop, Melbourne. Today, we roamed around CBD Melbourne and found some caches here.Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ March 2, 2024 15:36:24
Hint more useful than erratic GPS signal amid buildings. Lovely area when quiet: David

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, we visite Melbourne, we walk in the streets guided by the caches. Thanks to the caches we visited, we learn a bit more about australia, because many sites evoke Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
Great history in this area which I was totally unaware of! Managed to put my hand straight on this pesky little one after considering for a bit and making sure the coast was muggle clear!!
After a distraction where an alarm went off and some people exited a building I was left alone to make the find
