Logs

15-Mar-14
Spent the best part of 30 minutes looking with a previous finder. I was also present when it was found sometime ago. Unless the camo has changed and placement it was not there today. Searched high and low.

15-Mar-14
Thanks for letting me know it is missing Nana Nel. I checked this one early thid morning after the recent dnf. I can confirm it is indeed missing. I do not have a replacement cache and the maintenance is high, therefore it is with regret I am archiving this. Thanks to all my previous finders.

08-Mar-14
TFTC great spot, this was my first night cache, on the way home... After 30min & a few mozzie bites, I found it... However Didn't have pen/pencil to sign.. I'll be back to sign...

06-Feb-14
After a couple of failed attempts due to mugglers at GZ, finally I was able to make the find with Geo wife who helped me with this cache. Certainly, an excellent cache Sat down and a favorite for me.

18-Jan-14
On the way home with deemacvee and found this challenging one, had fun and took a little time and luck. TFTC

18-Jan-14
Finally put this one away. Took many visits and a tip from the CO. Also took some help from Theobayman and co. TFT very tricky C, Sat Down.

16-Jan-14
Second DNF for today ... After a long investigation we couldn't reach the spot. Unlucky arvo.

15-Jan-14
At last !
Stopped by today after a bike ride and thought....once and for all I'm going to find this one after having a number of unsuccessful visits. I spent a bit of time thinking and looking and scratching around like an old chook. Then was rewarded with a find. The log is dry and all appears in good order. TNLN, SL. TFTC Sat down.
Oh yes and forget to mention that I found this a nice relaxing place with a great water view and today, a nice cool nor'easter blowing Smile

27-Dec-13
Thanks sat down Merry Christmas, will be back in the morning for look #2 Smile

26-Dec-13
Quick walk by cache check. Still in position. I did not check the log today to see whether it was wet....next time

24-Dec-13
Ok as it is Christmas and i know this cache is still giving people great difficulty, I thought I'd throw in an extra hint. I see someone posted a photo of the bench at GZ on 1 August. Let's just say that I can see the cache in this photo staring back at me. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

10-Dec-13
Looked long and hard and had the whole place to myself wasn't keen on poking around in the undergrowth as geokid was bitten by a creepy crawlie earlier in the day when we DNF'd carrs peak. Sigh.... Will come back with some gardening gloves perhaps ?

05-Dec-13
As I walked towards GZ with my decoy fish & chips I was disappointed to see the seat already occupied. As this to be my 4th visit I thought I had better have a bit more patience this time - shortly afterwards I zeroed in and took a seat. Today I was in luck with the find although it took a lot more time to replace the container from where it came. TFTC - so clever

03-Dec-13
after the recent DNF, I decided it was time to check on this one again. It is still in position. I decided to leave a fresh log though as the old one had turned to pulp and had taken the shape of the container. I removed it in tiny pieces which were disintigrating each time I tried to get the pieces out. Still, brand new log in cache now, awaiting future finders. Good luck

15-Nov-13
No find for me here!

08-Nov-13
Very clever hiding & nice spot!

04-Oct-13
No luck. I'll come back one day.

19-Sep-13
Eventually I spotted what I knew I was looking for.

Log damp.

TFTC.

27-Aug-13
Sigh. Second time, still too hood for me!

27-Aug-13
Success!!! Just as I pressed submit on my last log, I spotted the corner of what I knew that I had to be looking for... YES!
Most excellent.

Cheers

21-Aug-13
Agggh I love and hate not finding a cache. Given the previous logs I'm sure it's still there and I just missed it. Have an idea what I'm looking for but no luck today. Even though I had no one watching I still feel strange having a hard core search when I'm by myself. For some reason when I have my kids present I feel much more comfortable having a thorough search Smile I will be back!!!!

02-Aug-13
Great find!

01-Aug-13
OMG..... this is definitely going on my favourites list. Took half an hour and almost gave up. Thanks for a beauty.

01-Aug-13
Awesome cache! Very clever camo hint very good!

31-Jul-13
On the way home from a bike ride after finding "Boats" and later "Thalassophobic Odity" I thought this one should be easy. Ha ha not true...I see its a level 4 difficulty.
I like the semi secluded location because one can spend time looking around without feeling obvious.

GPSr was a bit erratic however kept approaching GZ an poking around, Sat down and gazed at GZ, as in the clue, Got Up and wandered around some more, Sat down gazed at my navel, Got Up and one last look and decided to give it a try at a later time.

TFTC Sat down..I'm gunna find it !

20-Jul-13
Brand new log. Waiting to be found.

12-Jul-13
I shall try to get to this one some time next week to replace the wet log.

11-Jul-13
Found it! Have to confess this was my 3rd visit and although I thought I knew where and what I was supposed to be looking for it still wasn't revealing its self. About to call it another day and 'what have we here'! YES success! but not so, to sign the very wet log. Thanks for the hide, frustrating but satisfying in the end.

10-Jul-13
Tftc

10-Jul-13
Finally after so many searches i found it. I couldn't sign the log sheet as it is too wet to unroll. Thanks very much sat down

04-Jul-13
Our second Sat Down cache today. After reading all of the logs I had a feeling that I knew what to look for. Only just realised the significance of the hint & the name when I sat down to write this log. Because of all the recent rain the log was wet. We cleaned around the seal before closing it. Signed the log & then went back South via Paul's Hamburgers for lunch. Thanks Sat Down.

23-Jun-13
Quick cache check on my way home this morning after work. Still in position waiting for the next finder.

18-Jun-13
Sorry to add another DNF to this cache - it really must be a doozy! In my defence, there is an awful lot of new mulch that's just been laid out, so maybe it's buried deep?

16-Jun-13
In the early hours of this morning I saw a cache had been published nearby to this one (Kyle`s cache) & thought it`d be worthwhile trying for a FTF, so I headed off to Kyle bay after finishing my nightshift & did indeed get a FTF, on the way back to the shire I thought it`d be worthwhile calling in on this cache near Tom Ugly`s Bridge, have had my eye on it for a while & knew it`d be a challenge. AT 08.30 in the morning I had the place to myself & having read some of the previous logs & updated hint had an idea of what I was looking for so sat down on the seat & had a good look & scratch around for a good 20 minutes, no luck, I have to admit defeat, it`s obviously a devishly sneaky hide, will keep an eye on it & hopefully knock this one off the list one day, in the meantime i`ve still got my eye on another of Satdown`s caches.............."design your own cache" at engadine, when I get some time off work i`ll be looking to knock that one of my list too. Thanks for the challenge Sat down.
Cheers from CATONY

13-Jun-13
My first attempt at this one (on the way home from a funeral). Spent a good half hour. Next time I'll bring geohubby (he has better nano eyes than me !) We will be back. . . . .

06-Jun-13
A challenging and clever hide, made easier by the fact I found one just like this earlier this week at Regents Park! Both parts of the hint are probably vital to find this one. Thanks for the hide!

31-May-13
I managed to park right next to the GZ and did a quick scan but nothing caught my eye, so I headed to the seafood take away for a fish and fries feast for lunch. I returned to the seat to enjoy lunch and contemplate where the cache might be but just before I finished, council workers arrived to trim the shrubbery and spray the weeds. Just as they packed up the muggles arrived. Oh well, I didn't have to be anywhere else in a hurry, so I sat and enjoyed the view. Finally, I had the place to myself and commenced searching. I had a hunch as to how the cache may have been camo'ed and as it turned out, I was right, but it still took quite some time to find. With the clues and previous logs, I think there is enough information to enable a find, you just have to be thorough and patient. The new log had several signatures already. Thanks Sat down for satisfying experience. I'm adding it to my favourites.

31-May-13
Finally found had looked often with no luck even with the idea of what I was looking for. Very low profile hide. Tftc

30-May-13
While Cookie had picked up heaps of cigarette butts last time, there was still a few more this one.
Lots of scratching around evident, and while Cookie was up one end of the seat I grabbed some more rubbish, BUT what is that! YIPPEE!
Yes, the log sheet could do with a minor trimming, as I can't imagine that it would be waterproof too long. But it does have some natural cover for a raincoat. But you know effective they are.
Nice to get another of that different D/T rating, and we won't have to be tempted at the last minute to pull off the busy road to grab another cache.
Well done Sat Down; like it
Hedge Hopper TB wouldn't fit in there, but will bring thru for mileage while down from Taree.

30-May-13
1520 HIP PIP HURRAH !! A virgin log sheet! (Not a First to Find, but it felt as good!)
After several attempts, and mis-reading the title we stopped off on our way to get a few more canoe access caches.
Considering Sat down had cleaned up the area in checking and replacing the log it was a LOT easier to pick up a few pieces of rubbish, plus some pieces of furniture discarded in the bushes, and then to get on with the inspection.
YES!! Not what I was thinking. The log sheet could do with a minor trim, as the lid is sitting a little 'proud' which may mean that it is not as waterproof as it should be.
Guess I could only bring through the trackable shirt for mileage as nothing else could have been left there. Certainly NOT the Correct Site Marker. Coordinates were spot on.
TFTC challenge Sat Down.
Maybe next time down that way I will have a go at your more recent Puzzle.

27-May-13
Checked on this one again today. It IS still there. It had developed it's own natural camo, which once again I have cleared. It should be easier to find if you get there before the camo builds up again. Gave it a brand new log ready for the next seeker.

22-May-13
Hmmm, 2 more DNF's. I guess I'll have to go and check on this again.

16-May-13
Was really wanting (not quite desperate) a D4 / T1 cache for the Grid, but tonight was not the night. Even with Cookie, who had DNFed it earlier we were unable to uncover this well hidden cache. Did do a bit more of a CITO and collected about 3 packets worth of cigarette butts from GZ.
Thanks for helping us to Stop Revive Survive at least.
We were going to stop on the way back from some canoeing caches, but 'Mr Plod' was doing random breath test almost right beside GZ. Some other time!

16-May-13
Always like to find a DNF, but tonight was NOT the night! Spent an hour picking up cigarette butts and general rubbish while closely inspecting the environment.
Think I worked out the significance of the Title, but a recheck of that still turned up nothing. As I've previously said "Well Hidden!"
I will be coming back this way after midnight, so may have another look (try to limit it to 5 minutes that time).
Thanks for the stop off.

04-May-13
I have edited the description again, for those having trouble... I have added...3/5/13 Still, this is proving difficult for many. All I can suggest is that if you are really stuck, sit down on the bench at GZ maybe while staring at the ground, and really chew over the clue.

Good luck

24-Apr-13
Quick check on this one today on the way back from the airport. It is still hidden there exactly as it was before! As I had just done a 24 hour flight and did not have a new log, I did not check to see if it was wet. Maybe the next finder could replace the nano size log if I don't get to it first but it is most definitely still there waiting to be found. I am happy for finders to email me details of the hide of the lig is unsignable in the meantime.
I am sorry so many people are having problems with this, it was never meant to be so hard. Think about the clue, I don't know how else to help those having trouble.

13-Apr-13
I have been told that someone had been looking for this for a couple of weeks now. I shall disable it again until I get backto check it again.

22-Mar-13
Another DNF... I shall leave this enabled for the time being but I am unable to check on it until the end of April! If it gets to 3 DNF's in a row I shall disable it. Sorry but I will check on it when I get back.

21-Mar-13
Have spent 30 minutes twice trying to find this with no luck. Thought I would have seen it but no luck either side of fence and in the wild at Gz

03-Mar-13
Found after a few previous attempts came up empty handed.
TFTC

03-Mar-13
Finally able to knock this one of! Didn't even plan on giving this one a try today, but as there had been some maintenance and I was passing by anyway, a quick look was all I was gonna do. Well what is that there! Can't believe that was there on my last search, it must have been burried deep under some bark?
TFTC Wilbert67

03-Mar-13
Finally got around to this one after the CO volunteered a tip to me after last time. TFTC

28-Feb-13
Hooray, finally found this one. I've spent close to 4 hours here over the last couple of months. Great hide, I can see why the maintenance must be a bitch. TNLN, TFTC Sat down

15-Feb-13
Well this one seems to have given a lot of people a lot of difficulty recently. With all the recent DNF's I was sure I would find this one gone. I checked on it today and it is exactly as I left it, but had a lot of natural camo hiding it as it had built up around the hide. I actually thought it had gone at first and can understand why so many people have had trouble with it. However it IS at GZ. I removed the natural camo that had accumulated and it is a little more obvious now. I replaced the damp log and have left it ready for the next finder. Good luck and please if you look for it and have trouble, log a note or DNF and that way I will know it needs another check.

12-Feb-13
Disabling again until I can check on it

03-Feb-13
Hmm. Sorry about that. Sounds like this one is missing again. I would have checked it earlier but there has only been 1 previous dnf since I last checked it it, so I wasn't aware there was a problem. I will disable it again until I can check on it. Will archive if it is gone as it is becoming too high maintenance!

03-Feb-13
Frustrating! I wont put an archive or maintenance log, but this is the 5th visit at least and still no cache. Yes I came prepared this time. After some talks recently I got the confirmation I was looking for the right thing. To prove it the previous finder even gave me a picture of the cache at its GZ!! Now I really couldn't go wrong?? Yes I can, nothing at GZ or within 2 m. So I say it is gone for sure or it is moved unreasonably far from its original GZ?
Wilbert67

25-Jan-13
Hi, Just to advise that we gave this a good go on Aust Day. Five of us for quite a while. No luck Cheers DMc

20-Jan-13
Good hide man! 1720 - 1745 Had no muggles and found a few spots like the hint, and took quite a bit of rubbish to nearby bin, no cache that I could see.

28-Dec-12
In light of all the DNF's recently, I was passing this one today so did a quick check. As I got to GZ there was a muggle family eating fish and chips at GZ. I meandered past them and was able to spot the hide without disturbing them at all. It IS still there... good luck

25-Dec-12
Hmm, 2 more DNF's. I hope it is not missing again. I will check on it next time I am passing. The maintenance is proving to be hard work on this one. If it is gone, it might be time to archive it....

24-Dec-12
No luck here today for Ding and I. We could not even make heads nor tails of the clue.

Next time...

23-Dec-12
Tried for about half an hour. Scoured the scrub and the seats. Nothing found. I'll have another go next time I'm passing.

21-Dec-12
Sat up, sat down, think, up again wander around, poke this, feel that, but alas 2 DNFs in a row for the cycle tourer this morning.

29-Nov-12
Confirmed with Sat Down that I did indeed find it. It was just broken at the time. Its all fixed and ready to go again now though. Great spot!

22-Nov-12
Checked on this one today. Luckily, I had a replacement container with me as the previous one was smashed to smithereens. New log and container in situ....ready to be found again

21-Nov-12
All fixed.

18-Nov-12
Disabling this one until I can get there with a new log....

18-Nov-12
Think I found it and the clue made sense when I found it but there was no log book

I sat down, pondered and poked. I eventually came up with the sweet joy of sucess. SL..TFTC

17-Sep-12
Devishly sneaky.
I use Cache sense so only had the old clue..
Took a while but I eventually 'got up'.....
A fav point here....

12-Sep-12
After a couple of false starts the cache was revealed; a very nice hide. SL TFTC

12-Sep-12
Finally!!! I've been here a couple of times with no joy. Came with JustR today, who neglected to tell me he'd found it yesterday. After sensing my frustration, he gave me a hint & hooray!! I found it!! SL TFTC Smile

08-Sep-12
After the footy had finished and I got here it was almost Saturday morning, not Friday night, but I thought I was going past, why not. I left the GPSr in the car after a good hint and I knew whereabouts to look. Sure enough, I spotted something right where I suspected and this very clever little hide revealed itself. Thanks Sat down for the great maintenance and assistance after my DNFs [^].

01-Sep-12
I went with Rainbow Spirit yesterday last for the day looked for a while but no good RS had to PAF the clue is in the story. A sneaky one!!
Thanks

31-Aug-12
Last for the day, just as well I had a paf available who had done this one before. Very sneaky! Second time here. Thanks Sd.

30-Aug-12
New log today.

28-Aug-12
This is turning into a nemesis cache- I have been unlucky a couple of times with mugglings I think but this time I thought I had a good tip as to what to look for but came up empty handed Sad.

28-Aug-12
Checked on this one today as I was passing anyway. It is still there for the finding. The log is slightly damp but I did not have a new one with me. I will replace that next time I am passing. I have changed the hint again to make it much easier for those who are struggling to find this cache.

03-Aug-12
This has to be the most evil, sneaky cache I've ever done that's why your getting my hard earned favourite, top hide cheers.

01-Aug-12
Well what a tricky little hide this one is...after 20 min searching I sent a photo to Mrs 4DXPLOR of GZ & she suggested to look for a certain type of cache & what do you know BINGO!!! Have found several of these sort of caches before but not exactly the same as this one...Liked it alot...Well done Sat down nice hide...log is damp though...T4TC...Big GrinBig Grin

22-Jul-12
No idea?? At least my fifth visit here nad neihter clues made sense to me? The obvious spot it is not, coords have me on or over the fence each time.

21-Jul-12
21.7.12 Palindrome Hunt around Carss Park/Blakehurst not found with adl06 and loveit Sad

Thought there were two clues in the hint section (?) so pretended to be a goanna and came up empty.

The Smiths fish n chippie was nice as he gave us a few of his wares for the walk up the road and under the bridge.

No need to actually enter the shire if approaching from the north going south as there is a nice little side strip where you can park.. would have saved us a bit of a walk, but all good.

Will be back sometime for this little one!

18-Jul-12
After the recent DNF, thought I'd better check this one. It is still there ready for the next finder.

10-Jul-12
No luck here I'm afraid, and hardly a quiet spot to contemplate the waters, what with the constant roar of traffic.

20-May-12
3rd time lucky. Very good. Well don Robbie! TFTC

12-May-12
All fixed up. Brand new log, ready to go again.

25-Apr-12
found it but it was soaking wet and the log ripped - sorry Smile cool camo

25-Apr-12
Thanks for the info cake&lala. I'm not surprised after all last weeks rain. Unfortunately I cannot get to replace it for a few weeks. I will have to disable it again until I can get to maintain it. Sorry.

Found this one together with Authentix.

Our first day of caching in Australia!

This one was very tricky hidden, thanks for the fun while looking for it.

12-Apr-12
I have replaced the container, although it is slightly larger than the previous one and did not fit in the old hidey hole. I have hidden it in a different manner and although the coords remain the same, I think the hide is now more difficult to find. I have adjusted the difficulty accordingly. Thanks for your patience and good luck.

10-Apr-12
New container ordered. Hope to have back and ready to go within a week.

22-Mar-12
After the recent DNF went to check on this cache today and it is gone! Will disable until I can get a new container to replace it with.

21-Mar-12
A failure here today but the nearby seafood shop was some reward.
