Looked all round. Found broken pencil. Maybe lost cache. "I don't ever wanna feel, like I did that day. .."
I took PC Sniff to give me a leg up, but no sign of this cache in the location indicated by my smartphone. He didn't have his GPS with him, but had previously logged it, so we're reasonably sure it has been muggled. Maybe JoshuaSonOfLeod should take a look.
Thanks

Finally found with the aid of KiwiRanger's long arms. I was in the right place but just to short! I've saw the Chilli's live when they visited NZ in teh 90's and the theme of this cache was one of my favourite songs.
Found it. Thank god I used to do gymnastics. People with reasonable upper body strength could tackle this alone. TFTC cheers from Australia.
Took two bites at the cherry today, I was so close the first time. TFTC PS its not the Hippo
Not being a fan of rock groups I had to call in some assistance. On arrival at GZ the need for help was obvious. Some dwarf throwing experience would certainly help secure this log. In the end I had to rely on Junior dakotacat who extended my reach.
Have been unsuccessful looking for this one before but today we found it reasonably quickly after giving the teen a bit of a boost. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Second time here and it was the usual 'I'm sure we looked there last time'. Thankfully there was no one about or we couldn't have performed our (not quite) coordinated acrobatics. Found with debsnz
Could never have managed this one on my own. Luckily Miss 10 came in handy for retrieval purposes. We left a trackable behind to continue on its journey.
Spent a while here but some muggles wanting to do a photo shoot under the bridge meant we wandered off unsuccessful. Cheers.
Met up with ishoot and had a lot of fun trying to find this. [spoiler alert] Disappointingly small cache given the capabilities of the hide, maybe many Dunedin cache hiders do not like trackables? So many are this size and could easily have been larger. On the other hand, if the cache was bigger it would be easier to find...
It was chilly today and I decided to give up looking and do the other couple down the track...on my return I had a bit of help from seagnoid who had a similar thought, so between us the find was made. Thanks for this one.
Reperio at 1120.
This was another cache Roostaman and I stopped by on today caching in and around Dunedin, and we managed to park a lot closer than we thought we would have...and after a short stroll, the cache was was found in the most likely spot. Not sure how this is rated 3 terrain though when you can walk to it on a concrete path.

Find # 4474 and a total of 78 today with Marcus Vitruvius, on the 4th day of our NZ Mega trip, on the way around the Dunedin area. Another nice cache and hide and then on the way again. TNLNSL TFTC JoshuaSonOfLeod,

Pull ups are good. Gave to Justanurse and waited for her to log, she then handed back and let down slowly. Tftc.

A relatively quick find made faster with a twosome team. Found with the Walenators after the event.
Thanks for the cache

After parking in the stadium car park and after a short walk across the bridge the cache was soon found. TFTH...SL..TNLN
Was going to look for this one last weekend but the local lads decided to park up right at GZ. All quiet today. A quick rummage around in likely spots soon had it in hand. TFTC
First cache of the day, cold early morning, after dropping Tan1a-NZ at her conference at the Forsyth Barr. Began a fantastic day of teamwork with the two boys - Comandercon2 & FiddlefingersNZ. Had to take a photo to record the recovery.
TFTC ... had the Chillies going through my head the whole time. Again, had to trust the GPS more.

TFTC high up and almost out of reach but got there with castlewood_crew TFTC
Found today and luckily had a friend to boost in order to retrieve it. TFTC:)
Took about 20 minutes for the GPS to attach to some satellites (garmin updates yesterday maybe???), turns out I was on the wrong side.
Headed over to the other side and within a few minutes found the cache
Great spot down here now!

Helped to initially hide this but only just got back to dunners to find it officially. Broought back the memories of our cacheing adventures. Missed the lil girl when i was walking around dunners though weird huh
Found by Mr C after lunch in the gardens. We were wanting a have a look inside the Stadium, but they were closed over the break [8], a nice hide. TFTC.
YAY Third time lucky, for some reason i was wanting to always go to the r/way,i didnt seem to trust my gps foolishly TFTC
Very pleased to get this one after missing it previously. Found with karenhippo and Iron_Butterfly. Great song, TFTC.
This took a little bit of searching, then I spied it! Not a small though but a micro, there are tons of these containers in Oz and they all classed as micros. TFTC
This was an area I had never ventured into before so it was quite an eyeopener as I walked the walk.
Thanks to my companion I shortened the search as there was quite a few areas to choose from.
Thanks

If you have to ask, I could have lied, but the truth is we tried to find this cache today, and failed. We suspect we were looking in only the obvious spots, when we should have been looking for something more subtle.
The Dunedin geocaching community did something about the rubbish problem! Here's a link to the Leith Mouth Spring Clean http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=b04e6c0f-b17b-4d6a-8b85-16457939e0aa

Couldn't resist this one while at the nearby CITO event. Clever little hide and yep, it's a micro not a small.

According to the place a Geocache guidelines found on this website, the example of a micro cache is a 35mm film canister- this cache is bigger than a 35mm film canister. The description of a small cache is one that can hold a logbook and small items- this cache holds a log and pencil, can hold a geocoin, and has done so previously.
Even with modest height I could still reach this tho naturally I made it much harder by scaling the wall first. Tftc a fun hide tho it should be listed as a micro not a small.
And with that find: 21 consecutive days of caching now! Yeeha!

Nice hiding spot, eagle eyed littlie found it, knew we took the kids for a reason! No dead octopus today
I think this is possibly my easiest ever find. I had seen from a notification a couple of weeks ago that there was a cache in this area so I had a look while I was walking past today. I thought, "It should be there", and there it was! No GPS, no printout. Mind you, I have missed a lot of caches that everybody else found easily enough!
came all prepared this morning, and located the cache after a fun search - I was surprised how popular the area is with bikers! TFTC!!
went down with the kids didn't find it were like 6 meters from it up on the path under the bridge on the orange thingy's fun though the kids saw two dead octopus's in the water we will go back again it was just starting to drizzle we got 2 before this one anyway they did well had a lovely tome and they saw 3 muggels
Had to think about this one.... then found it. Could reach it easily.

Nice quick grab, been down here a few times now caching, not much water in the stream.-Bitsprayer
Day visit was better but should of been a quick easy find. Found with wethreefourdices TFTC
The fourth find for the day with ingidayna. Had tried the night before with no luck, but a fresh pair of eyes, some daylight and a good look at previous logs had us in the right place before too long. TFTC
Reasonably quick find, though I used a large orange movable barrier to stand on! Then it was no trouble. Although getting from the new bypass road down to the cache was a bit of a trick. Also be aware, GPS reception at GZ doesn't exist. TFTC!
After gratefully receiving a number of hints, we dashed down at lunchtime. Saw suspicious activity as we approached- someone doing the "geocache amble" just looking at the view? A quick reach and grab as we went past (gah! so simple! how did we miss it?) and then a chat with Kev.
Time to do something about that rubbish! It won't take too long with a group of us getting into it. We're tentatively planning a Spring Cleaning for 10-11am Sunday 30th October, so keep an eye out for it.

Didn't quite find this one in it's natural habitat as it was in Daywalk's hands...
Nice to have a lunchtime chat and discuss various geocaching topics.
The area is in definite need of a CITO event - especially beyond the railway bridge.

No contractors around today so straight in and the cache was soon in hand. I was just able to reach it but anyone much shorter than me (5'8") should bring a box with them At the moment there are some Hirepool barriers to help the short of leg but I'm guessing they won't remain there for ever. May I endorse daywalk's comments about the monument to stupidity on the other side of the river. I have no problem with the stadium per se, only public funding of it. When I recently reported to the DCC that a slip had taken out the access steps to District Track on the Peninsula (and yes, there is a cache up there) the response was that there was no money available to repair it so the track is now closed indefinitely. I wonder if the lack of money to repair basic city amenities has anything to do with the shrine to rugby visible from the cache site?
Excellent, got it! Came by this morning on my bike. It's great how they've done up this area. Carried on after grabbing the cache with a nice ride around the harbour. TFTC

Called down just before noon to attempt this but found contractors working underneath the bridge (and on top of it). Couldn't see what they were doing but any new structure usually has to have ongoing work on it in the months following its completion. Hope the cache isn't noticed by the workers. Will attempt again later.
Nope, again. Officially baffled. Peered sideways into cracks, felt over, spotted a blob of putty... at terrain 3, it shouldn't involve climbing up and in, should it?
Rocked on down and decided not to "Give it away", despite the risk of "Scar tissue" got to "Higher ground" thanks to a flourescent "Love rollercoaster" and did a bit of "Get up and jump"ing, you could have "Knock me down" with a feather when something came to hand and I had a "Desecration smile" to myself.
Signed log and got back to the deck and did "The adventures of Raindance Maggie" two step.
"By the way" "If you have to ask" Google is your friend.

Missed the FTF as the kids needed to be dropped at school. Why do they need an education anyway?
The coords for this cache are spot on.
A lovely part of town now. A cafe along here would be marvellous.
Well done on your first hide Josh!

WOOT WOOT! My second First to Find. I thought I had a pretty good chance of getting to this one first, fortunately Monday is the traditional clergymans day off, and what better way to start a day off than with a scrabble around for a newly hidden cache?
As soon as this was published I was out of my robe, into clothes, boots I was prepared to get wet and in the car! I had a good hunt around at the location, and even discovered a deceased octopus in the water ( how random is that after I watched a documentary on octopi yesterday?!). I was pretty stoked when I found the container, but when I gave it a shake and didnt hear any geocoin bouncing around in there I figured someone else had already beaten me to it (my money was on Cumbyrocks). When I cracked the lid I was estatic to see the Gc still there and the logbook as white as virgin snow.
A great cache in a fantastic spot I hadn't visitied before, it is looking really smart down here, I'll have to bring the rest of TEF down for a stroll in the near future.
Left 'Blue Manday' TB for other hunters keen to log this find.

Wrote down the coo-ords at work and fell for the temptation of detouring to have a look on the way home from work. Alas, no, couldn't see anything promising that wasn't electrical. Did climb a vertical wall to get a red bag, but that turned out to be a discarded spray can. Have now looked at the cache page at home, and see from the clue I was in the right general area. Will take extra eyes and the terrain rating, size etc next time! The contrast here between the rubbish on the streamside and the money wasted on frivolities is really saddening and bewildering.
Papa had a nice walk around the area at lunch time today on a day off. He was in the area last night but enjoyed himself just a little too much which curtailed any early morning chase for the FTF. Cache took a while to find, perhaps that was also a result of the previous evenings excesses. Nice hide. Salamat!
