I am planning to collect the caches along here to Whiskey Creek. The afternoon is getting on and i am woefully unfit, but hopefully i will have time to complete them all. So far it has been a very pleasant wander and this is another terrific cache in a lovely spot. A Stitch in Time. is find number 4,290 for me. I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Mudbrick - adopted by Ausyowie.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Found with catnat777. 21 September 2024 11:40amLoved these themed caches and how well most of them have stood the test of time. [^]This was day two of our assault on Lerderderg which had us making our way as far along Square Bottle Track as far as the "Whiskey Creek Circuit...Worth Bottlin'" cache before heading back to the car. We then headed further south for a bit of a go at Ah Kow Track on the other side of Mt Blackwood. It was a ripper day that started back in Hepburn Springs (where we had spent the night) looking over a couple of Earth Caches there, before making our way to Lerderderg for another walk in the park. TFTC and series Mudbrick, and thanks for looking after them Ausyowie. [^]
21 September 2024 11:39It is day 2 of our adventure and after a good nights sleep we were itching for more of the same adventure and hiking this beautiful park again. We felt good and on a high from our achievements yesterday. We just can't get enough of this game or the awesome caches found here. They are all set out so well. You can choose what you want to do, there is such a variety of walks with varying difficulties. The caches are mostly themed and even though they have some age to them, where possible the containers are original, or have been replaced with the same theme. We thank you so much mudbrick and Ausyowie for keeping this wonderful series alive and well and truly kicking. I have used a generic log here for this group, and if there was an issue with any of the caches, I have put and asterisk at the beginning of the log.
I've been planning to do this loop for months, but work, family & weather always stumped me. Today, despite having limited time, I decided to give it a go. Being on my own, I decided not to tackle the loop but started with the Square Bottle Track caches. What a fabulous guise. Many thanks
During all my time Ive spent geocaching, I have never once encountered a hide with this sort of theme before. I was certainly surprised by what I encountered when I finally arrived at GZ after the walk from my previous find. My only real life experience with using one of these was back in intermediate school where I attempted to make some sort of a tote/handbag for my mum. It ended up being a bit of an abomination, but she liked it nonetheless. But anyway, back to the cache. I managed to retrieve the container with ease, and soon had the logbook signed. All was in good condition with this hide and, after re-hiding the cache, I continued on my way.TFTC

Does a stitch in time save 9?? WOW wasn't expecting to see this out in the Bush today lol.... I take it that the original CO Mudbrick had quite the sense of humour.

Met up with SteMicMitSar and started our action packed day. The hint told us where to look as our GPS were having a rest of some sort today. Ripper cache camo.
Thanks mudbrick and AusYowie.

This can bring more more questions than answers, but it would have been more helpful last time I was out caching this way those short are not the same anymore. TFTC

Today I headed out to attend the Meet by the Mine event but first of all I was meeting up with McLookers at the start of squarebottle track so we could hike in to the event this way and find a few caches along the way.
It was certainly a great day for it and the company was great, we didn't have too much trouble finding the caches we looked for but by the end of it all the legs were a little tired.
Certainly an interesting bit of machinery covering the cache.
**Thanks to Mudbrick for placing this cache and Ausyowie for keeping it up on running.**

My mum was a wonderful creator and loved her sewing machine. Lovely memory from this cache. TFTC
A great little group of caches, most haven't had a visitor since the outbreak so it turned into an enjoyable way to do a bit of self isolating. Many thanks for the cache.
Out caching with ThePacman and Jacko83 on this cold winters days. Fortunately not as exposed to the elements in the heart of lerderderg and the cold actually was helpful once all the hills got us overheating! Nice easy find. Tftc
Found a bit of spare time today so I thought I would use it productively and find a few caches.
Headed up to the Blackwood area to add a few more smiley’s to my map.
Parked the Geocruiser in an area that I have been before but ran out of time last time I was here.
Headed up the square bottle track to find the ones along here.
I’d say the track has been recently graded as I was following dozer tracks along.
Now this was not what I was expecting to find and this one had me in stitches.
Thanks Mudbrick & Ausyowie TFTC.

Wow - heavy! Pleased I didn't lug it in!
A rare spare afternoon ended up in master 9 and myself descending on the Lerdie for a hike to knock off some of these caches. I've driven past the track here a couple of times since caching but never had enough time to stop and walk. Today we tackled the 8 caches here from the dam to the end of Square Bottle Track. All up it took us about 2 hours return as we are pretty slow going. Lots of variety in not only the caches but also nature, plenty of laughs, lots of huffing and puffing on the hills and some quality time together. Many thanks for the cache which was an easy find - we really appreciate it.

My muggle daughter and myself are out this weekend for a overnight hike. Somehow I have talked her into stopping for a few along the way. I love how geocaching and hiking go hand in hand. I just love it. We have had a lovely weekend but didn’t bring enough water, by the end of the two day hike we were dreaming about water. Thank you for bringing me to this lovely location. I have missed a few along the way, it just means I will have to come baok this way. Thanks heaps
I was really enjoying the stroll along the trail today

Found on the GDT. Lovely hike over three days from Bacchus Marsh to Blackwood with lots of caching. Great detail in this series!!
Found this one while out taking my year 9 class for a hike, it was a nice introduction to geocaching for these young muggles
Sew right you are Mudbrick. This would have been a family asset and prized possession once. Imagine the stories it could tell.

Pretty much did this route as an wind down from the Yorick Odyssey (half way) before returning to Ballarat. Besides it was still light at 7.30pm and I had 90 minutes of light. Tremendous fun and quality caches along this track even though you are not allowed to drive your car. Oops I found this out after when leaving. Old machine seen better days. TNLN TFTC mudbrick.
Certainly had me in stitches. Another Classic. Bush Walking with a mudbrick series, Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks mudbrick. TFTC.
After attending the nearby CITO event at Pykes Creek I headed off in the direction of Blackwood to search for some other caches to finish the day off. I didn't quite make it to Blackwood but found plenty of quality hides anyway.
Well, I didn't expect to see that in the bush. You've gone out of your way to trek a whole heap of interesting containers out here to hide the caches in, you must constantly be on the lookout for things to use. Thanks for the cache Mudbrick.

Find 13 of 17 for the day and what a day it turned out to be. The whisky creek circuit is a challenging walk especially for the unfit like Neville_devil and myself Sims_family dad. The rest of the Sims_family had been left at home for the day because of the D/T rating of the caches on the track.
Light is really starting to fade on us now lucky we were prepared with torches along with our plenty of fluids, snacks and good food.
I can't even imagine carrying this one into GZ even though I am sure it would have been placed while walking in from the opposite direction than we have approached from.
Thank you mudbrick for the cache, smiley and the adventure that we will not forget in a hurry.
Sorry for the late log amendments to the initial place holder log

I was in the Blackwood area and circumstances basically had me confined to drive-bys.
At some stage I said something to the effect of "Stuff the circumstances" and I decided to attempt part of this trail. I really wasn't equipped for anything too out of the ordinary and didn't have the time required for a complete circuit.
So I jumped out of the car and grabbed a bottle of water and other essentials (pen, GPS, spare batteries) and off I went. Now where I parked was another car, so I was expecting that I may come across another walker or two.
What I wasn't expecting to find was a band, who had been filming a film clip, walking through the bush with all their instruments!
The views along this track were fantastic in spots and amazing in others. There is something about caching in the bush that gives you a feeling so unlike finding a cache in a guard rail in the side of a busy road.
A stitch in time saves nine apparently. Try telling that to someone holding their side and wincing in pain.
Little comfort.
The needle on the compass was soon threading its way in the general direction of this cache. I avoided a few tree branches by bobbin under them and soon the cache was mine.
I had it all stitched up in a manner of speaking.

[Green]Todays mission is to get the Jeep dusty and go off road to do some exploring through the Lerderderg, Wombat State Forest and around Blackwood. The weather was perfect and so was the caching, which has brought me here to find this cache in good condition with accurate co-ordinates. A good looking piece of camo topped this one off quite nicely....I wonder how old it is?
Thanks mudbrick for bringing me here.

Was that a Singer? I couldn't tell. There was a small amount of water in the container, and the contents were slightly damp. I tipped out the water and all appears to be well enough now.
How cool is this rustic piece. I almost walked past the spot but seen it was a little different to the rest of he tree stumps haha

Today I feel I earned every cache I found.
20 in total walking the Whiskey Creek Circuit.
Temp mild but some of the climbs where testing.
Although I had a great half day.
12.8km in total, started at 8:34am finished at 13:30.
A little further on and I'm soon signing the log.
The sun is getting higher but not much wildlife around.

Today was my monthly caching run with Biggles Bear, and the area today was around Mt Blackwood. The bulk of the caches were along a couple of great walks, with a few extras around Bacchus Marsh at the end. Continuing the tradition - easy cache + great walk.
My thanks to mudbrick for the cache.

Found 12:17:00 PM, found in the company of Muzza, during our regular monthly caching expedition. This month we chose to head out into the wild of the Lerderdeg State Park and environs to collect some of the caches there.

Another great one [^] We started to wonder how you got these into position. This one was heavy. We guessed maybe it was found. Well done, quick and fun find. Stamped and returned as found.
I put this on my list of walks to do some time ago and suggested to our geocaching friends and if anyone else wanted the walk, to please join. Maccamob was only to happy to come along and it was great to have the company. We had a great walk, a great chat and many laughs along the way. Stamped and replaced as found.

An extraordinary number of different containers laced with humour and generous swaps made this a fun afternoon in perfect sunshine and temperature. Lots of birdlife and nil snake life. No one but myself and my excellent sense of humour to share the afternoon with. Off we go...
Nicely themed cache and swaps! The sunshine beckoned and I continued on ...
Thanks and cheers !

After the previous caches, I had an inkling this wouldn't be a straightforward hide. Well, ya don't expect to see one of those out here !!! You are full of surprises, loved the swaps as well. TFTC mudbrick.
After much badgering I managed to talk a muggle friend into doing this walk with me. Was really great to finally have the opportunity to do more of your caches muddy. The hills tested the hip and knees but slowly did it with a few rest stops along the way
Haha. I do a lot of sewing but thankfully I do not use one of these. How on earth did you carry this all the way up and down this track. You are truly amazing in your originality and well thought our caches. A fave from me for all the effort.

Find number 13 out and about With ThePacman, Jacko83 and the Geopup Bentley on a perfect day for a walk in the bush. ThePacman who had previously found this cache watched on as we headed over to make the find and then shared our amusement once again. Loved this hide and the appropriately themed swaps found inside.
Thanks mudbrick for the cache, a great series and for showing me a new part of the world !

Found on a solo walk around the Whiskey Creek circuit. Mud, sorry that these are all repetitive entries, however I don't have the energy to write individual notes for each one. The final entry will have some pictures included to make up for this!
Moving along now not so smartly but with determination we breasted another uphill surge to look for the cache. Alsume had been surmising what we might find on account of the cache name, however not quite prepared for what we found at 16:55. A good use indeed. TFTC
With a couple up ahead that the others didn't need to get, I had to make up some time so that we'd finish at around the same time. I arrived here for a quick find at 16:50, one that had me Singering, although not in the rain. (Oh dear, that needs a lot of work. )
TNLNSL. Thanks mudbrick.

Eudes had left us behind by now, but with LinearZZ we headed towards the cache, discussing what we might find when we got there - given the other themed caches we had found on the way. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I was on the right track! Fortunately didn't need to put it to use to sign the log at 4:55pm.

Not sure whether we did this because we wanted a spectacular bushwalk, a variety of clever and amusing caches, or just to torture ourselves. In the end I think it was all three, with LinearZZ coming out of it with the most impressive war wound. Thanks for placing all the caches and the effort you went to in making them fun finds.

This is the sort of hide you need at the end of a large adventure and not near the start.
B2 had removed most of the rear of the pants while climbing and descending some of these most magnificent mountains in this developing (in geological terms) landscape.
It was all here and the find is amazing when least expected.
Thanks Mudbrick as the bananas continue the adventure for the day.
Worth a favourite.

Easy find whilst tramping and caching with Ozwalker, coordinates spot on. Never expected to find one of 'these' here, very clever use of words. TFTC
More of Mudbricks classic wordplay at.....play literally bush walking and caching in the dark now. Cheers for the circuit and for bring us here.
I decided to spend a day out in the Lerderderg, getting some of the rarely visited caches in the Whiskey Creek.
The 5km walk out to the caches was easy - the 5km back was a lot tougher!
A different theme indeed! TNLN.

I had time for just one cache in this area so I chose to do this one on a fine autumn morning.
I parked up near the dam and followed the track down and then down some more to the cache.
The setting and swaps were of course in the theme of the cache title.
A great little stroll. Must come with more time to do the circuit next timeThanks mudbrick

My final find for the day, my two partners, 6Hinemoa2 and Bogonghazy, having already visited it previously. Loved the interesting hide. Thanks to Mudbrick and to my two travelling companions for a very pleasant and, at times, physically challenging day's journey. Sure slept well after that circuit!
A quick find after the run down the hill... what goes down etc,etc... One wonders why the hide guardian it was left in the middle of nowhere... Thanks.
I have been partly down this track before with another hunt this is my 100 Th cach on the day my first cache was listed. The resident skink made me jump. Thanks for the Quirky cache.
I found this cache today at 12:35pm as the 4th of 26 on my Blackwood and Lal Lal caching expedition. I enjoyed the walk up and down the ridge from the nearby CATS cache. I also liked the cache hider and contents, all keeping with the theme of the cache. Thanks from D B-A
picked this one up after collecting "cats grass tree left" a good walk TFTC the hiding spot was well chosen

A good cache but I was glad when I got back to the car. Thanks mudbrick. TNLNSL.

Found with Mudbrick today. Didn't know what I was looking for until I found the cache then it all made sense. Lovely walk down to the hide a little harder back but was worth it. It was the start of a long day's walking.
On a cache finding day with 6hinemoa2,I thought I would check my cache & drop of my recently aquired geocoin.
Saw this one pop up last week and today was a ripper day to get out and take the dog for a walk. This one took me longer to locate than the walk in despite the excellent clue. However, I had to have a chuckle once it was located, very clever.
Sew that's what the name refers to. Thanks mudbrick for an excellent walk so close to home.

Congratulations Geddes Family,I was wondering when someone was going to hike to it.
Our very first 1st to find - woohoo!
We had spent the day at Blackwood and saw there were a few GC's around the area and thought we'd best get the GPS out and ready for a play
Quite a walk, tho we managed it in about 40 minutes with 2 young kids, but take note there are several very steep hill climbs on the way back out.
Loved GZ, the kids thought it was fantastic!
