A short stop for us here after the numbers were crunched. Nice to get out of the car again and stretch the legs and now onto Port Augusta. Thanks SCCDomsky
TFTC Southern Cross Caching your cache Nukunu Country that we found today. Traveling today from Port Pirie to Whyalla. Along the way we stopped at two spots to find the multis and a trad in the rest area. Quick calculations and findsFind Count: 17570
Made that harder than I needed to. The questions were fine, just the degrees number I entered had me south of Japan . Luckily the cache is closer than that. TFTC Southern Cross Caching.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 35. Mid North section of SA trip Day 6. Port Pirie area Day 1. My first day here and I started caching with a short drive to the north to visit Weeroona Island. After a few along the way back I started a caching loop of the outskirts of Pt Pirie. A mixture of undeveloped spaces and spaces that once used to be other things. This was highlighted by the old railway stations LABs I did to finish the day, before heading into town for dinner at a very modern pub.
The sign at WP1 is getting quite faded, but I was able to determine the required information and calculate a GZ. This was just a short walk from where I could stop the car and was found without any issues.

Day Five: Gumeracha to Woomera.
I really made the most of being in my own bed for a night, and now I’m a bit pressed for time, so just a few caches today.
I stopped here in the dead of night early last year to claim my first find in Mt Remarkable LGA. Nice to see it in the daylight, especially as the weather is glorious after all that wet weather in the east, and the strip of blue of the gulf looks magnificent.
Always nice to find a large.
Thanks Southern Cross Caching.

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So Port Germaine was my next target for the night.
Another morning spent driving in the rain as I have not had the best weather on this trip what ever happened to summer.
The rain has stopped and as I have rounded the the bay and heading back down south the weather is beautiful on this side of town.
I have finally reached my destination for the night which is Port Germein so time to set up.
Another nice day is beaconing so I did the pier walk early which in my mind I had walked half way to Whyalla by the time I got to the end.
So now to tackle some caches around the town then widen my search area.
After travelling the scenic route it was time to head back up to Port Germein and pick up a few caches heading north.
Pulled off into the Nukunu Country rest stop to do the 2 caches in here.
A simple multi to follow got what was required and did the calculations and soon had a good set of coords so off I went.
After a brief of a search I soon spotted the cache, added my name to the log and this was the last one for the day time for a well earned beer.
My rant for the day.
People have already trashed the place and broken into the control box, stolen the battery and controller for the light and left rubbish everywhere.
This is why we cannot have nice things
Thanks Southern Cross Caching.TFTC.

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I finished our trip by driving from Kimba back to Adelaide via Nurioopta. We made a short stop at Port Augusta, and then travelled back south via Augusta Highway, and then left just after Lochiel through Balaklava, Owen, Hamley Bridge, Freeling, and Daveyston. We made it to Geostuff's 10th birthday celebration event, before finishing out our day completing the Adventure Labs in the area.
I was amazed to see this highway cache doesn’t get found much. We pulled into the rest shelter, and I obtained the numbers required for GZ. We then made the short drive nearby to GZ, and a final walk in to quickly find the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Southern Cross Caching for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

With restrictions about to ease even further, I think we can safely enable our caches for people to start finding again. Please remember to practice safe hygiene measures while out an about, remain safe and most importantly, have fun.

Hello everyone, in these terrible times and with the current government directive for people to stay at home unless it’s essential. We’ve made a decision to take our caches off-line to stop temptation and encourage people to stay home. If this goes longer than the allowable 2 weeks period and geocaching hq decide to archive them, then so be it. But let’s hope this is over as soon as possible with as little damage as possible, so we can all get on with our lives this great game in the conditions we are accustomed to.
Cheers and stay safe and healthy,
Shane and Josie

Nice solo caching day.
Found some great caches, good containers, superb views, workouts, climbs, drivebys, old caches...
and a few mint tins too!
Kept going into the night and early next morning too.
A few truckers were parked here, probably "dreaming" too.
Quick find by torchlight.

Day 3 of my Caching Adventure to my beloved Iron-Triangle.
Port Pirie, Port Augusta and Whyalla [^]
On my way home, i was very selective of what i wanted to find. This hide (and in need of a Multi) was up next.
Made the find of a sign way smaller than i had anticipated. {The cost of this sign must have broken the financial back of the Council for sure... how will they ever recover!?}
Did the necessary calculations and found myself at GZ in a jiffy to a most speedy find of a good sized cache [^]

We left Port Pirie this morning and started out on a cross country route, travellling with ilook4geo. We found a selection of different cache types for the day, including multi, virtual, letter box and traditional.
This was a nice offset multi and the end result was a really large container. Our thanks go to Southern Cross Caching for this easily achievable multi, which we enjoyed doing and finding.

This was a fun caching day as we were travelling through outback SA with goingplaces2. We found different sorts of caches during the day and either signed the logs or sent answers to the CO before logging it as a find. This was a fun multi. TFTC.
Perfect timing as I needed a rest. So a good spot for a rest stop and a good spot for a multi. Quick calculations soon had cache in hand. Now onwards north. TFTC

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our trip continued from Port Augusta to Port Vincent. On a way we visited beautiful Weeroona Island, spend some time at Port Pirie, visited Moonta's himalayas and found many caches on the way.

Hi there Southern Cross Caching.
We found your cache **"Nukunu Country"** at 11:21:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 16086).
Our trek today took us from Gladstone to Port Germein via the "next closest" route as determined by our GPS. On our trek we found a variety of container types. We ended up finding 7 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

An easy and good multi to do, and I was left wondering why it gets done so rarely. People in too much hurry I suppose.
As i make my way from Adelaide to Wudinna for work tomorrow i grab a few caches along the way to help break the drive, after a previous DNF a couple of years ago we finally get to put our name in the log book. TFTC

We found this cache as part of a 4 day trip which went from Adelaide to Sceale Bay returning to Adelaide. The purpose of the trip was to remove Freddo was his home location too near the Clipsal 500 track and for us and Freddo to achieve a difficulty 4 1/2 and terrain 4 cache to make us well rounded cachers. The cache we needed to find was located near Venus Bay and we successfully completed this goal early on Friday morning which left us plenty of time to find "just one more". Loved the scenery and having the opportunity revisit this great area Thanks to Southern Cross Caching for placing this cache.
Found on family trip to Adelaide to watch some Big Bash Cricket - hope the weather holds out. Thanks
I hit a [purple]purple[/purple] patch in my caching day at this spot
A good place for a leg stretch and to take in some of the local history before wandering off to find a cache
I found the "Duckling from Denmark" Travel Bug here.

A simple one to work out and an easy find at GZ.
Not the best one to be doing in shorts and thongs as the shrubs were a bit scratchy but with these temperatures jeans and boots aren't an option, especially for Tasmanians.
A cache in a bigger container - always a good idea for those that are out in the weather.
Thanks.

Catching up with late logs.
We were now heading home after a great couple of weeks caching on the Eyre and Yorke peninsulas and also picking up quite a few power trails and now taking our time and enjoying the traditional slow caching we are used to.
We had just found the Dazzatron cache and headed here to the not so brand new sign and collected the reqiired information and learned a bit about the Nukunu people. It would be great to be able to go back and see what this area looked like when they roamed here.
We headed off to GZ and were very surprised by what we found, it reminded us of when we first started caching and this type of container was not uncommon.
Many thanks southern cross caching a favorite from us.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
The day was fairly warm with the odd shower to keep us alert. We managed to find a few caches along the way with the caravans in tow, so we only stopped where it was safe to do so.
Mrs Felix and Mrs iluvtrekking did the sums but left the find to Mr Felix and Mr iluvtrekking. What a great sized cache.

Quick find with Donnazev on our day caching in and around Port Pirie. Was surprised to see an empty logbook given the nearby traditionals have been found so many times recently. Perhaps people were put off by the "multi" aspect. Needless to say, it almost as good as a FTF.

After several DNF'd I thought I had better check this one, unfortunately it was missing so a replacement has been replaced.
Cheers and Happy Hunting,
All good to go again

After collecting all the clues, we set off for the final location, and found a great spot to conceal a large container, but unfortunately we couldn't see anything. We tried from all access points, and could see right in to the centre, but no cache.
Worked out the co ords and proceeded to GZ, no cache to be found, rang a previous finder and going by the info this cache is gone : ( TBs got to visit tho : )

Took a photo of the information plaque to work out the coordinates before attempting Stage 2.

Solved coordinates and corrected for the find. Gave it a pretty good look, and found lots of geotrails around the calculated GZ, but the container eluded me. Can't find 'em all, I guess.

last time I was here there was a heap of caravans pulled up at the sign, managed to get a picture to work out the co-ords, while driving out I had a hunch that it would be there somewhere, but didn't want to cheat.
came back today and with the co-ords and what do you know I was right on the mark. followed the geo trail in and made a quick find. dont think this one will have a problem for getting wet, was hard enough getting in.
