This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 28 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Searched location. No cache but there is a book and a pen tied inside winch box but can't reach so don't think that is the cache
We had a good search around but no luck at all here today.
Walked in past the locked gate, this is no longer a park & grab.
A really interesting location so was very dissapointed not to find it.
Thanks

Found the access road OK but gate was locked, so went for a very pleasant walk where we hadn't been before. My GPSr had old co-ords in it so I went where the hint didn't make sense. Turned back towards the bridge as the phone had updated co-ords. Much better! Spotted the cache in no time! SL TNLN TFTC Mayfind

Hasn't been found in a very long time and lots of DNFs. Please can it be checked.
Looks like this hasn't been found in a while. Not saying this wasn't here, but Mrs Cooper couldn't find it. Might try again some other time.
Took the opportunity to teach geokids about CITO week and took 2 bags of trash out, even if we didn't cache in!

Stopped on the way by today for a nice short walk to grab this cache. Did a little bit of searching before turning up the cache. Log was damp and only just writable. A good spot for a cache and an enjoyable find, there were crabs at GZ and schools of hundreds of tiny fish fry. TFTC.
Finally came back, spent 20min last time, this time walked right up to it, log was wet so I left a new one, great spot, TFTC
Nice easy find once the gps settled down ..really enjoyed the walk to streach my legs thanks
Dropped past on our way to Kooragang, took a little longer than I thought, initially thought the cache was rubbish! Would have been a DNF if I hadn't inspected it more closely..... TFTC Mayfind
Quick find, luckily due to the mozzies about. Must have been a high tide with lots of water gushing in. We have hired canoes from the nearby wetlands centre before and enjoyed paddling around this area. Left a dry piece of paper for signing. TFTC
Found this cache with team_lewin, a great spot i have never been too before - seems like it would be a great spot for fishing. The log was soaked and needs replacing. Thanks for the cache
Found with aussieben quick search and finally unearthed the cache however the cache and the log where soaked and didn't have replacement logs on hand. Took photos of cache and contents to prove we found the cache. Thanks for the find
Seemed too nice a day to waste so we headed off to add a few to the smiley count.
Had meant to find this well before today but kept overshooting the access road. Today we checked Google maps first. A pleasant walk today and a quick find at GZ. Thanks Mayfind.

Nice to see the floodgates and surrounding area! Harry Potter page still there.
Best to park at S 32 51.358, E 151 42.224, heading towards Hexham from Newcastle, with a couple of dirt road entrances off the main road.

Being in the area for work and having a few minutes to kill stopped by and grabbed it . TFTC
Good find found at 1130 at night after rain with the flood gates open ☺ TFTC walked all the way and found it but forgot the pen so we left a page of harry potter book as or mark
Found on a bit of a detour to work. I have been meaning to find this cache for a while, and have even driven past it and missed the turn off a few times. This time I was ready, just after the speed camera around the corner I pulled off the road and started the walk over. This is a really nice area and I loved the walk. When I arrived I looked at the coordinates, but needed the clue to identity the odd one out. Unfortunately the log was wet, so I ran back to the car and got a new cache note and zip bag and ran back. So now has a new log and bag, unfortunately the cache container actually has a hole in it (either from something eating its way in or wear from friction). I put the cache upside down and used the old outside bag as an umbrella, but really needs to be replaced. I had a great walk following the creek along and also over onto the island (which is also another access point). Can you really hire a canoe from the wetlands to get here?
Thanks for the nice walk, views, interesting area, bridge and cache!

Another warm sunny day, so we headed out to pick up some caches in the Newcastle area.
With a good variety of hides, we were kept busy all day.
Cache was found quickly, log wet & needs to be replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Mayfind, for us and others to find.

A quick find today. Middle of the day when there is a breeze is a great time to come - not too many mozzies! Also high tide today so the view was better than usual with water being released. Cache needs work - it was fully filled with water. Log and contents soaked. I did my best to tip it out. TNLN TFTC
Cache outer bag, inner bag, and log all need replacing. Cache could do with either a good clean or replacement too!
Bring your mozxie stray and beware of high muggle activeity fishing. Very easy find thou
Found it was damp so put in a snap lock bag to try and help also we popped a sheet of paper in for people to sign as last one was damp and nearly full
Good find tho thank you
Good find tho thank you
Geocaching can be dangerous. Tall metal towers and storms do not mix. Lightning arcing across suspension wires and a rapidly brewing storm made finding this cache quickly a very high priority.
Bring your repellant hahah nice spot. Needs maintenance though the container had a hole in it.
TFTC!! What a lovely spot! Didn't even know this was here! Took us a while to find. In the end, geowife spotted something out of place & there it was! Thanks =)
Lost light but turned over a lot of rocks. Worth checking - needs a replacement log if nothing else.
TFTC.. Unfortunately the cache has been muggled. Found container and as many of the trinkets I could unfortunately log gone..no paper to replace with. Put cache back at co ords . very nice view.

After a failed attempt to gather these caches on wednesday, 88jaz88, Patches108 and I set out. We went through Jesmond, to the UNI, Wetlands, Sandgate...had a quick stop at the floodgates and across to Ash Island. We had a fantastic time caching around the island...loved the scenic views and slightly rough trails. The places geocaching takes you!!! We had a brief lunch at the northen most point of our journey then continued on. I also admired the historical side of the island. We then jumped onto Tourle street where Jaz was swooped by a Magpie. Funny times!!! After that we headed to Army View where Patches and I both got a flat. We changed them under the bridge and continued on up it. Once at Stockton, we headed south on the cycleway and unfortunately Pat got two flats...one on each wheel what is the luck?? Jaz and I then decided it would be best to cut our losses so we rode out to get a few. We met back up at the ferry at 2 and went to the local bike shop (CFN) where they helped replace the tubes and we were on our way. At this point it was getting on 3 o'clock and we decided to make the dash home via a few unique areas. After a ride through carrington, islington, broadmedow via the small powertrail, I was back home.
Thanks to all cache owners for their time and effort in placing these awesome caches and showing us some great areas.

This was a fun cache to find. We looked and looked for 15 mins, most stones would have been overturned I think. We were giving up when, in a last ditch attempt, we rolled over a rock and there it was.
Thanks for the cache Mayfind.
After a delayed start due to someone sleeping in (me), Cccritter7, 88jaz88 and I set off on our big trip. We headed through Jesmond and along the freeway. We stopped for a cache at the wetlands, then continued along to the Sandgate Cemetery. We picked up 2 caches along Maitland Road, then turned into Ash Island. We managed to pick up all the caches in Ash Island, also admiring the amazing views. We then headed to the Tourle Street Bridge, and headed along towards the Coal Terminals, picking up a cache along the way. We continued along towards the Dinosaur bridge, and picked up the first in the series of caches on the bridge. We went underneath, and after finding it, both Cccritter7 and I developed flats. We luckily were able to replace them, and continued up to the bridge, and along. We found the rest of the bridge series, and headed for Stockton. Unfortunately, after we found our first cache along the way, my back wheel had gone down. I pumped this up, then discovered my front was flat too! It looked like I had ridden through a patch of mutant cat-eyes when we pulled them out. I then walked the bike the 3-ish k's to the ferry terminal while the other two grabbed a few caches in Stockton. We reunited at the terminal, hopped on, then hopped off again in Newcastle. We went to a nearby bike shop, had my tires repaired, then we discovered 88jaz88 had a flat too! After having everything repaired, we followed the bike track from civic to Islington, picking up several along the way. We then got into Broadmeadow and onto the bike track, and we headed back to base. Unfortunately, I still had a way to go, but it was plenty of fun. 54kms, 5 punctures, plenty of caches and tons of fun!

Good little walk. Log still very wet and was unable to be signed. Nice spot though. TFTC.
This place was pretty cool. I never knew how to get to here. As we were trying to find it the sun set so luckily we brought a torch. There was a lot of rocks and the gps on the phone was going a bit mental but eventually we found it. Opened it up and the log was soaked.
Nice walk to the cache where we were greeted by a happy willy wagtail. Geoteen enjoyed looking for fish while I did the signing. Tftc
Today being the last day before the "end of the world", this might be my last find, took TB, TFTC Mayfind!!
Was a nice afternoon so decided to drop in to search for this one. Drive past here all the time and never been to look at the floodgates. There was no water flow at all but did see some fish jumping in the water. Cache took 10 mins of searching around but all was well when found. Thanks Mayfind for bringing me to this nice spot.
Joint find with Fullymad. A nice end to a great day of Geocaching. I did love the feel of the place and got some great pics. TFTC
Found straight away, very nice spot, will have to bring the fishing rods some time. Took Magnet, left dice. TFTC
Excellent to see these floodgates which I had heard about but not seen. The water was flowing well. TFTC
The signs about radiation nearby had me giggling.
Nice spot that I have driven past numerous times and never knew was there. TFTC.

Our 6035th overall find.
I now drive past here each day and had seen this cache on the GPS but today I decided to stop. A nice little wander out to the GZ for a fairly quick find. I should come back one day with the family.
Thanks Mayfind for the cache.

Beautiful place. Stopped on my way home from work as the sun was coming up. Thank you. Made my morning. Was a bit wet inside. Log was dry though. It cleaned out ok. TFTC

Drive past here regularly have never stopped until now and glad u did what a great place TFTC
Found with N@attack. We read the hint and started looking in the most obvious (wrong) place but a quick check of the map had us back on course. Log is a bit wet. TFTC.
