Cache container continually removed by bikers, archiving cache because this location is no longer worthy of the cache

05-Nov-13
We spent a considerable time here searching but could find no signs of the shelter and definitely no signs of a cache.

05-Nov-13
We accessed GZ from the co-ords mentioned, and had a short walk.
Unfortunately, upon arrival we could find no trace of the cache.
BB consoled herself by going back to the Bus Stop. Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

Great spot for a cache..kept our heads down while the motor bike sped past.

Easy spot, but a nice walk to obtain it. TFTC

Not the first to sign the new logbook, but the first to be 'apprehended' by the Police.
Evidently there had been some mischief going on in the bush nearby, and they were suspicious of someone walking around at night with a headlight.

(I was back in the area, driving some the MAP's around when stopped by the Police, and asked to explain our presence in the area. A short description of geocaching ensued until they checked out or alibi, and the geocache!) I didn't get their names, or we could have put them in the logbook as well.

1000 While out to fill a Calendar Day I decided to check on the replaced cache I'd DNFed, but not logged earlier. Nice to 'knock-off' another cache < 80 km from home.
It could be very busy here on the weekends I imagine!
Quick find, once I'd found the structure.
Brought through for mileage: Through: Coins - 3Bros, Lighthouses, IconicBridges, B2B, Baa, Neigh Neddy and Oink, Travel bugs – Kobi’s supercar and Travel Unicorn Geocoin, and trackable shirt.
Left: a squishy animal, just not one that would be seen here!

While in the area a quick ride along some trails was in order. Could hear motorbikes further away, but none to annoy me today.
Nice new container, for such a decrepit structure. Mind you, I've probably made a couple of these myself when in Sydney. Nice.
Took Bajas Geocoin #2
Left a Ziploc bag for the logbook.

New Container, Pretty Easy to find it.

I was planning on replacing catch right about now, but it has started hailing and I have deemed in unsafe to adventure out to replace it. I will try and replace some time this week

27-May-12
I decided to give this one a try today after a few in the area but as I approached GZ I found what was likely to be the hiding place empty... A quick txt to a fellow cacher who had previously found it confirmed I was looking in the right spot but no cache to be found Sad

27-May-12
Disabling listing whilst waiting for rain to stop to place new cache

11-May-12
This is the last cache on our morning out.
I'm glad there were no motor bikes in the area today, as we had walked in from the road.
We could see the remains of the animal watch shelter, I'm sure the noice from motor bikes would keep the animals away.

29-Feb-12
I have been "reserving" this cache for the 29th of February so finally today was the day to cross it off.

After negotiating the mud heap that is King Creek rd at the moment and loosening a couple of fillings on Sarah's Cres I parked the truck close to GZ. A quick walk down the the track and I was at the animal shelter. Now I'm no expert in these things but the shelter looked like a fallen down tree to me, I wouldn't bother reparing it, if you want to see animals head to "billabong animal park" up the road.

The cache hiding spot was pretty obvious, I was expecting the container to be full of water because the lid doesn't seem to fit properly but amazingly the contents were bone dry which was good. There is supposed to be a geo coin in this cache but it wasn't there, are you sure you put that coin in the cache??

Thanks for the cache SquiresSquire,

Found at 4.10pm GAFF1. We thought that no one would be coming down this track, so we parked on the track and sure enough within 30 seconds a trail bike rider approached us trying to get past. As he passed he asked if we were lost! What with a GPS in hand and a cache nearby - not likely mate!
We didn't see any shelter from the way we approached GZ, but we did see some sort of culvert - was this an old railway line?
Thanks SquiresSquire - a tough little hide.

01-Oct-11
A much better day today no rain or leeches the whole team had the cache in hand within minutes.

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome to the Wauchope/Port Macquarie Geocache Community.
I actually have found some geocaches but they were at a conference nd it was under the conferences account.
I will be going out their today to change the container for one of the same size but better waterproofed!!!

I'm afraid this cache is likely to go the same way as the shelter, depleted. The container's lid hardly fits and will probably fill with water in the first downpour, so keep an eye on that. Risky hiding a cache without having found any yet, but the coordinates were pretty good. Your job when hiding a cache is to put swaps in there yourself. Good to see a new cacher in the area. Cheers. Missed the FTF by 45 minutes Sad found at 2:45pm. Looks like we have a bit of competition in LHBeachfan.

28-Sep-11
14:00 A clean logbook meant a FTF. A nice cache, though the animal shelter was looking like it would not offer much shelter these days. As I was exiting the area, I thought my car had changed colour but it was lightsabrelodge arriving (father & son). I had just seen them at Rosendahl Reservoir without knowing who they were. So we had a nice chat - pleased to meet you. TFTC SquiresSquire

28-Sep-11
Well mum said not to be greedy but with one FTF off we set for our second as we pulled up at the track we noticed one of the 4x4s that we had seen at Rosendahl reservoir. Next minute we were meeting a new friend LHBfan after a quick chat we got the geodog out of the car only to have two not so friendly dogs greet us we should have headed home but no off we went.
Than as we walked down the track geoson found a leech, off with the leech than down came the rain next minute geoson was on his bottom than the GPS went flat we should have stayed home as mum said don’t be greedy.
Thanks for the adventure we will be back.
