Good Lordy! All the years the cache has been in, I've never had a problem finding my own cache.. But this year, wow! Since October, the local flora has gone nuts! Turning in at the stump, which was only recognisable because there was a trail blazed besized it, I followed the trail thinking it didn't seem right, as the tree you go around to your right was too far away.
Trail ended on top of what looked like the hiding place for the cache, but no, was totally wrong! I could *just* see the cache in its actual hiding spot about 30 metres away to my right! Had to go bush-bashing (trees and bushes had TOTALLY covered the old path), and finally found the cache. The bottom had a crack completely across it, hence the reports of water in the cache, so I took it back to where we were staying, and donated it to their rubbish bin
She had a good life, but now that I'm living on the central coast, rather than 20km away, it's just too hard to maintain! Thanks to everyone who's sought the cache out over the years

VK3JAP was going to go check on the cache and clean it up, but I haven't heard back from him.. We're off down there in just under a month to take our new bub to visit her grandparents, so I'll stop in and check on the cache while I'm there.. - Will either clean it up, or remove it, depending on its state..
Cheers,

We've had a few not-finds recently, so I'm going to temporarily disable this listing.. VK3JAP said that he'll try to get out to look at it soon and check that it's still ok..
WeI returned today to try and find my phone and was amazed to here it ringing (from daughter waiting on the track). The battery went flat about 15mins after retrieval so we were lucky. Now the other thing to find, the cache. We came armed with two cheat photos and a helpful email but still couldn't locate it. Stinging nettles and a snakey day in the 30s soon eneded our search of over 30mins. Thanks anyway. We may watch this cache and see if any others have any success.
Had two goes at this today, one on the way up, one on the way down still no luck. I may have dropped my mobile phone while looking so if anyone comes across a gold and black nokia in the area please contact me THNX
We spent 20 minutes+ looking for this cache, however no obvious hiding places and it was a hot day so we didnt like walking through the tall bracken for obvoius reasons. We would have searched longer but I got stung by stinging nettle so we gave up. Maybe another time.
this was a easy find, enjoyed looking , my daughter found it this time was the first time she came with us. we took a green massager and left a little budda

Stopped in during our honeymoon to check on the cache, and while it has been moved (looks like the local parks&wildlife have been cutting down trees, and a tree has been dropped over the top of the stump it used to live under), it's only a meter away, and MUCH more obvious (you can see it from 2-3 metres away..).. However like a lot of the recent posters, the GPS was giving me a heading 16 metres away.. So I'll change the coordinates of the cache to match what my phone was saying (geocache navigator rocks ), and hopefully folks won't have any problems finding it..
There's actually a surprisingly clear path into the cache from the hiking track!
Cheers,
Damien

Found by Team Ladava with baby&Mrs gopher on their ‘Relatives from The Rock reconnoitre’.
Oh dear, what can I say? This was my fourth attempt at this one. While the males of the species with their high-tech global positioning devices with their wildly gyrating arrows were having a ‘man-look’ at the published coordinates, the girls were making their way up to where we were risking broken bodies thrashing around in waist deep bracken, tripping over fallen trees and falling down holes. As they reached about half way up the slope, we heard Mrs gopher’s call “I have found itâ€.
I didn’t know whether to groan in frustration or relief. I am very glad to get this ‘exercise in frustration’ off my ‘to do’ list.
TNLN
Our thanks to the Gardners and the Roaches for the exercise and the cache (I think)

Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1415 on a beautiful sunny Mt. Macedon afternon with Team Ladava. The cache has either had a slow slide or some big cache creep as was found 17 metres from posted co-ordinates.This is the 3rd time we have been here to find this cache, and Mrs gopher was observent enough to be right on the find. She was sure it wasn't here last time.Took TB LN Tnx the Gardeners and the Roaches.
Spent a fair bit of time looking but nothing. Have spoken to others who haven't found it either. It may have been muggled.
Putting a Log entry in for GeoGinaG.. she has spent ages looking for this one on two occasions. I think it might not be there anymore.

Stopped here with another cacher to drop off travel bug trying to collect coins with hole in them.
We really struggled with the lock on this one, and so we covered a lot more of the "off the track" countryside. Eventually found. Left a sega game and took a car. TFTC
Found after a bit a battle with the GPS then with the surrounding bush. Took travel bug #503779 and moved to IMO Hollow Moment GC1300C
Found this one after a bit of a bush bash. The gps was a little off so the clues helped.

Found this afternoon at 5:10pm. WE LOVE BUSH BASHING, and there was plenty here! We probably bashed for around 100m (not 30m) due to a wandering GPS, but eventually found this huge cache. Lots of recent damage, including a HUGE tree nearby recently fallen (this week's storm?), but cache OK. Took Blue Mercer TB, SL, then off up the hill to "High on the hill top". Many thanks for this enjoyable cache, Gardners and Roaches!
Just logging "Blue Mercer" through this cache to ensure that it gets its full distance travelled correct!
Enjoyed finding this cache.

GPS couldn't decide where we were, and it sent us about 100 metres off where we were meant to be, but then we returned to the carpark to try again and our friends found it straight away!

Yeah! this was the first geocache my friend and I have found! we are very excited to be entering the game/sport and delighted there are so many around the area we live.
Well...that is a big cache.
Navigated straight too it.
The cache has a big crack in the base of the container and the contents are a bit damp but otherwise is in good contition.

came close to giving up as the weather was turning bad. Hung in there and located the bugger ... i stood there for ages and let the GPSr settle found the GZ about 6 mteres from co-ordinates. nice size cache and some good swaps could move through this cache.
A word of warning though ... if you dont like leeches ... dont do this on a wet or even near wet day ... i was there for 15-20 minutes and ended up with 5 leech bites and ripped another 6 off my clothing.
have fun

Lots of fallen logs, lots of places it could have been but either luck's not with me today or it's not there. I suspect I just wasn't looking in the right place. Lots of people walking past on the track, no doubt wondering what I was doing scrub bashing.
Lost my compass here, so if anyone finds it, I'd love it back!

Found on the second attempt. This time we came armed with embi's photo, all logs memorised, long pants, long sleeves and gloves. We followed the instructions carefully but we interpreted them differently. Lady Morris thought the cache was 30 metres from the carpark, Mr Morris thought it meant the stump. Both areas have been well covered by other searchers. Mr Morris came up trumps in an area that did not require the protective clothing. GPSr showed us 8 metres uphill from gz.
Have included some photos to assist future searchers. Took groovy pen and left a cyber tool. Pleased to have put this one to rest.

This was frustrating, unfinished business from April 2004. With lunch beckoning, I had fears of everyone giving it a miss but with some not-too-subtle reverse psychology (you know, the type that goes "it's too hard, you won't find it"), we soon had dozens of eyes on the search.
Geko took me to exactly the same spot as it did nearly three years ago and while I was doing the search there again, J1 of WT gave that cry we all love to hear at 12:45, some 15 metres away from where I was looking .
A very relieved EuDes did the TNLNSL. Thanks for the challenge the Gardners and the Roaches.

We thought this was going to be straight forward, but the GPSr was having trouble under the bushland canopy. After spending 20 minutes tromping through the bracken unsuccessfully, we decide to retire to consider our strategy, meeting up with Alsume, Eudes, 4MAAL and Winetimers at Kurana. Apparently GRH had been bugging EuDes for some time. Re-approaching the location with more resources, the cache was quickly found but it was noted that several Garmins put the cache 8-11 metres out (a Magellan seemed even further out). The cache seemed a bit empty for such a large volume so dropped in a Koala clip.

Found at 1245 with Tina & Granny plus Eudes, 4maal, Winetimers and LinearZZ. Several of our teams were very anxious to get this one off the list, having tried and failed before. With lots of eyes it turned up and all beathed a sigh of relief - especially me who spent most of the time looking for the glasses I dropped as I took the hard way up the hill to GZ! Fortunately both the glasses and cache were in hand before we left GZ.

Found all the clues were good but the cache was slightly exposed on arrival for its large size.Did the paperwork and re-hid a bit better in the same spot with more covering.Nice track and location, thanks to the gardeners and the roaches.tnln.
We read the logs, we decoded the clue, we followed the directions, we used all the coords, we got nothing except some serious stings. We will have to try again.
Found on 03/12/06 @ 1722 AEDT. While Team Rubik and Fetch were looking a long way away garmin technology triumphed and an easy find was made

Having finished up at the Christmas BBQ event around 1600 or so, I decided to try for a few nearby caches on the way home. I'd never been to the Camel's Hump, so decided to give this cache and the one at the top a try. I pulled up in the parking lot just as Rabbitto were about to start the walk. This seems to happen an awful lot with us (I think I should be an honorary rabbit by now ) but was especially fortuitous for this cache as a rabbit is just what you need for searching this sort of terrain. Even so, it took 10-15 mins before the Big Bunny was able to call out that he'd found it .
It's a good spot for a cache, and an unusually big one too - but difficult to get good GPS reception.

We found this cache in very thick fog on the wayback from another cache. The gpsr was not being extremely co-operative and had us searching in all the wrong places with no luck (got lots of leeches) The gpsr eventually settled down and the cache was located after about 15minutes. It was great to see such a large cache but unfortunately we left the cache bag in the car so made no swaps

Another find on a day out with robmc and Oenze. Wasn't too easy. The co-ords aren't bad but even with such a large container we still had some trouble. Robmc has found it before and even he had to hunt a bit to locate it. A great hiding spot. TNLN as far as I can remember but did pick up a few more leaches in the wet undergrowth. It was a wet foggy morning. (morning Drizzle I think they call it in melbourne)
Anyway thanks for the cache and the challenge.

Found at 6.20pm GAFF2. Thank goodness for Dak's adjusted co-ords, otherwise we wouldn't have found the cache - again! The undergrowth has certainly become thicker since the last time we were here. Thanks Gardners and the Roaches. Took: Fish hooks, Left: Frog.
Great to see a large sized cache container, but I was completely unprepared - no large swaps! Ended up swapping dinosaurs.
We completed the Camel's Hump walk afterwards. I can remember climbing up here in winter and finding ice in the finger cracks! No ice today, a pleasantly warm day.
Thanks, Robmc.

Spent 1 hour, the two of us, getting stung, scratched & bitten. Searched ALL the objects mentioned in the clue we could find, but still even with that and previous logs putting us down the hill a bit - no luck. How hard is it to find a 20 litre bucket ?????????
Sigh - but at least it was only 31º up there compared to 40º down on the calder hwy.

Seventh of 21 finds on day one of our end of year Assault. This was a nice easy walk to what we thought was GZ, we searched several likely looking spots but turned up nothing, after get a rather nasty sting off some local vegetation I lost patience and cracked the hint that was just about useless as there were quite a few of these objects here. So we read some logs and the one by Geof lead us to the cache that Dak soon uncovered at 10:50, while I nursed the welts that were forming on my wrist.
Thanks for the Cache and showing us this spot.

Fifth of 19 finds on day one of the DEM/A2YG End-of-2005 Bendigo Assault. We spent quite some time looking for this one. GPS coverage is not wonderful in there, but both of our GPSRs agreed on the supposed GZ. An extensive search turned up nothing. We decrypted the hint, but found that the first part of it merely told us how to get to GZ--this could more usefully be included in the cache description. The second part of the hint seemed to confirm that we were in the correct place, however, we still couldn't find it.
Then we read Geof's log, and decided to look 10m further down the hill, and bingo! We found it at 1050. My GPSr said 13m to go at the cache location. We both took a reading of the coordinates, and they are attached to this log. Thanks to the Gardeners and the Roaches for the cache.
I know I made a swap at this cache, but later in the day I dropped my iPAQ, it decided to reset itself to factory defaults, and as a consequence, all my audio logs were lost. [B)]

This one was a challenge. We searched for quite a while and were about to give up when we remembered the clue. Deciphered the clue, which convinced us we were broadly in the right place, but still no help. Some tips from the other logs helped. Still, the cause seemed hopeless. Eventually, after about half an hour we called in the Mrs who seems to have a knack. After about ten minutes the booty was snagged. The biggest cache I have ever seen.

Having looked for this one several months ago, and concluded it was no longer there, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was still available. Thanks Gardners and Roaches,
From Romax.

I swear this cache wasn't here when I last looked. Found it this moning with no problems at all. A very nice pattern of sky birds I think helped here a lot.
EPE of 5m and distance to cache between 9m and 15m. Not too bad at all. I didn't mark a WP as I don't think I could have done any better.
I approached the same as last time and headed up the hill. A paused to let the GPSr settle down and when I looked around (and under) I was rewarded with the cache. Fortunately the cache can be retrieved without a lot of environmental damage, so kudos to the hider for the thoughtfulness.
It was great to read the logs of many years gone past including one from the Macedon Fire Brigade. The cache was rather bereft of goodies, so while I wasn't able to retock a 20l container fully, I did leave behind most of my cache swaps.
Took jigsaw, left torch, precision screwdrivers, fish hooks, animals, balls and jewels.
Thanks to the Gardeners and the Roaches. Glad to see this cache back on line and easily findable

Well it's taken us over 16 months to finally get this one off our DNF list. It was quite a bit closer to the path than the co-ords led us to believe.
Yaay!! We have finally bagged this one.
TN & left a large game - Nine Mens Morris

Wanted to be sure, so went for a quick check on the way back from the Crossroads Cache..
What do you know, the cache is there! A fair bit harder to find, as the [small section of fallen tree trunk] from the clue is now [covered by a good mound of dirt and grass, and you wouldn't know that it is a tree trunk].
I would suggest that you simply look for the [big mound of dirt and grass NEXT to a long fallen tree trunk.. The cache should be on the left side of that after walking up the hill from the stump at the path]
I'm guessing maybe it was taken away by parks and wildlife during a cleanup, and then put back later?
Oh well, it's back

Haveing found easly the other nearby cach that had been "taken out of service" I thought I would have a go at this one to.
All I can say is I fully agree with the others.
The near by lookout is great though[8d].
Thanks Garden Roach group

60 minutes spent here.
Like Ian and Penny I was consistently brought to the base of a large tree than has fallen with the rootball almost completely out of the ground where the trunk is now covered in ferns.
Like Ian and Penny I couldn't find squat.
Like Ian and Penny I thought a 20 liter container shouldn't be that hard to find, but with all of the ferns and the bad GPS signals, apparently it is.
With people walking all over the ferns, including myself although I tried to avoid it, the area is becoming quite environmentally damaged. It will recover satisfactorily over time as this area is very suitable for these types of plants, but I fear with 3 not founds the area may get searched more and more thoroughly disturbing the area even more.
Would be interested to know if it is still there or whether it has gone missing (although if someone can confirm it is there, I'll spew bad).

This is our second attempt at this one.
The GPS consistently puts us at the base of a fallen tree, but we still can't locate the cache.
(We think that a Twenty Litre container shouldn't be that hard to find )
Oh well, maybe next time.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Thanks for this cache, found easily after a great mornings 4WDing. Took the Marker pen and left a Mousemat.
Found by David, Julian and Michael at 5:30p.m. The cache is 100% there! We went camping in Wombat State Forest, so we decided to visit this one on the way home. After an initial search the GPS reading was jumping around so I used the clue and found the cache easily. We didn't make a swap. The cache was in good condition. We also walked up the path to the top, which was well worth it. This is why I really like Geocaching .. it takes you to places that you might never go.
Am disabling this cache until I can get down there to check it out (probably next christmas?)
could not find
searched for 1 hr. using clues ...is it possible it is not there after 3 no finds?
No luck with this one. Decrypted the hint and followed directions, but there are many locations fitting the description, searched a few of them and nothing there. It may have been stolen or removed by the Parks staff. Could the owner please check? I did the walk up to Camels Hump, which has a great view, so it wasn't a wasted trip.
Hmm, should be a fairly easy one to find using the hint.. I won't be back in Kyneton anytime in the near future, so I'll have to try to get someone local to go have a look
It was very misty at this altitude with no view so the mountain was pretty much deserted. We headed into the bush as advised but the eTrex was not giving a very clear indication and then the batteries died. We have since found that some GPSs give unreliable readings when their batteries are low. It was also fairly damp and gloomy which made searching under logs a bit difficult. Then we discovered that several leeches were hitching a ride. They are really harmless but they give us the creeps and we didn't have any matches for the quickest removal. A second quick search was attempted but without success. Next time we will return with leech deterrents plus a bright torch.
This was to be a painful reminder of the dangers of geocaching - for more than one reason. [B)]
First off, when you print the page listing the cache, ensure you take the clues with you (even if they aren't decoded). For this cache, it would have helped.
Second, long sleeves and pants are a must when trampling in the bush. This is especially true when someone previously listed 'stinging nettle' as part of the local flora. [xx(]
Since returning to Geobase Melton, we have now read the clue, know exactly where it is (or there about) and will return with long sleeves...on our next trip to Melbourne.

Adam found it in the rain after 10 minutes there's alot of trees on the ground. Beware of the stinging nettle around i'm still paying the price, swapped a cfa key ring for the marking tape.
Keep up the good work hiding those caches!

Found at 11:50 in the company of Alan-san. This one took about 20 minutes to find. Everything was moist and GZ kept moving around a bit. It was eventually found close by, but not quite where we were looking.
Its in a lovely area and does not seem to have suffered in the drought. I took a 1 penny coin and left the Jigsaw Puzzle #3 obtained at the 'Pocket Puzzler' cache.
My thanks to the Garders and the Roaches for this cache.

Found at 11:50am, with Muzza. With damp conditions the GPSr was not as helpful as it usually is, so it took us about 20 minutes to find it. Although when we spotted it, we wished we had started our search over there. Swapped bubble bath for a marker pen.
