Found container but extraction tool is missing. Disappointing end to a cool search.

10-Jan-16
Found it eventually. Walked through the little creek before I knew it was there. And with reasonable rain this week, it was running nicely (right over my foot!)
Found the cache, and then had to work out a way to remove the tree from it....
All good. TFTC

7244 Cache Found

Out and about in my local area this morning picking up a few bits and pieces I needed for the garden. Decided to try for a few caches on the way home. The GPS in my vehicle took me to the wrong entry point after rectifing the situation and arriving at the correct location it was off for a short walk foe a quick find very sneaky. luckly I have seen Star Wars and knew how to use the force, Will award a favourite for the location and the cache container, Well done

This day in history
700 people, mostly children, are hospitalised following the broadcast of a cartoon which triggers 'Nintendo epilepsy'.

On 16 December 1997, over 700 people in Japan were rushed to hospital suffering similar, but unusual, symptoms of simultaneous seizures. The common factor was that they had all watched a cartoon segment on the "Pokemon" show, based on Nintendo's "Pocket Monsters" Game Boy game. The catalyst to their problem seemed to be a scene featuring an explosion, which was then followed by several seconds of flashing red light in the eyes of one of the show's characters. Viewers who were admitted to hospitals complained of convulsions, vomiting, and other symptoms.

Major video game manufacturers now admit that some games can trigger seizures or "seizure-like symptoms" in some video game players. Such seizures are usually triggered by repetitive flashing lights, combined with the presentation of certain geometric patterns within the games.

Thanks for the great cache and adventure jasenjanineSmileSmile

Woohoo! 100! And a great cache it was! A bit mozzy filled for GeoWomans taste. GeoMan used the force and in true hero fashion saved the day by signing the log while GeoWoman waited behind cheering him on. Tftc!

Oppsie forgot to log my find!!! Wanted to find one of these lil beasties for a while now. got the suggestion from humbuggy to head out this way and we might find what we were searching for. Thank you

29-Jun-15
I arrived in the area and had this cache as a target. So many favorite points and with a rough idea of what it might be but with no real idea what I would have to do I pulled into Skippy park and readied my gear. Well the only gear I needed was a pen and GPS. As i looked to venture off the path a group of three young boys who were playing nearby on there bikes asked what I was looking for. "something that shouldn't be here" was my ambiguous reply, not wanting to be muggled. Äre you looking for a geocache"? was the reply. Hahaha. well yes, but if you guys know where it is can you let me find it?" I pleaded. Wanting to fully appreciate and enjoy this cache.

I then went to the GZ because whilst they didn't know the location one of their grandfathers was a local cacher who has hides nearby. Making sure to instill the fundamental respect for the environment and the geocache I soon found the cache in question. Now to get it open. scouted around for a tool that i have seen supplied at caches like this. hmmm. no tool or have I already seen it and not recognized it. ah ah.

Do you ever have that moment when your sitting on the couch trying to reach the remote when you decide to see if you are a Jedi and can Manipulate the Force? I try this approach with the cache and no luck. i try again, changing something and huzzah I soon have the cache in hand. Amazing. Loved it. Fav defs for me for that feeling of using my mind power to sign this log. haha. TFTC. Recovered and returned.

We had been out for the day for a paddle on the kayak and this cache wasn't too far out of our way on our drive home. It didn't take too long for the GPS to settle in on ground zero and we quickly spied the cache. With a little dexterity, we soon had the log in hand to add our name. Thank you for having placed the clever cache jasenjanine ... a favourite point from us.

22-Apr-15
Since my list of caches to look for had run out I just started looking what was around. This one popped up on the map just ahead of where I was so I decided to take a look.

I parked the car and wandered along this wonderful large bike track, and soon I was finding a spot to head towards GZ. A little wandering through this area and a lot of stepping cautiously hoping for no wildlife to be around. Soon a little moving and dodging soon had me in the right spot to spy the container.

But now what, I had a little dread in my mind could I have missed a detail, but no a little more looking and sure enough the log was soon in hand and my name being added. I got things replaced as needed and soon was on my way back to the car.

No problem finding this cache, gps was a little off, but easy to spot.
I had an idea it might work this way from the description/clue, so got the log quickly.
Thanks for the cache Smile

21-Mar-15
Too scrubby, no obvious spot to find it. Gps not co operating.. We gave up. Maybe needed easier clues.

05-Mar-15
I attempted this but should have known better. Anytime there are trees the gps becomes about as useful as a bag of rocks, leaving me guessing and walking through snake infested territory. I quit simply because I could not get a lock onto the GZ and had better things to do.

Need to start looking at the d/t rating - we hopped out of the car for a quick cache, realising the 3year old didn't have shoes...'Never mind it'll be just over there' we thought.
A bit of a trek later and we were at GZ - me with baby and 3 year old in my arms appriaching frim one direction and the 10 year old having a great climb approaching from another.
I saw the cache and waited for ever for the boy to notice it, a bit of puzzling later and we signed the log and went for a quick play in a great park
Thanks for bringing us here.

Found by Team Ladava on our Maleny micro break while visiting the relatives in Caloundra.
What a delightful recreation reserve and a great hide.
It took a few minutes for the 'penny to drop' but then the prize was in hand and Team Ladava full of admiration for the creativity and workmanship

A beautiful day to be out & about around this area... Decided to take in Maleny and surrounds today...
This is a beautiful area to which I had never been before... Cool Dropped in and grabbed this on the way... Cool

Some fantastic views, sights & roads throughout the area... Big Grin I laughed as I read the previous finders log as they trekked back to their car to grab a required item... Thankfully, I found that I had the required
item with me... A bit of a search, made the grab, signed log & replaced...Smile

Thanks for bringing me here jasenjanine and for the cache... Big Grin This deserves a fave...

The GPS lead us on a merry chase before we finally zeroed in on GZ. It still took a couple of circuits to spot the cache, missing the obvious while looking for something different. After inspecting the container we realised that we needed one of our caching tools and of course it was back in the car which was over at the other side of the park. Back after another lengthy hike and the tool was not working - damn!!! But wait - a slight modification to our tool and success. Thanks for the fun and the challenge - after that we should give it a vote I guess.

23-May-14
We come to this park A LOT with the geokids and I have been waiting patiently (ok not so patiently) for this one to be back up and running. Saw that it was yesterday so today we went for a look. ( I didn't need to make a special trip as we were already going to be there today Smile ). I had to bush bash in a bit and was surprised how off the track it was. These are always difficult when you are trying to carry a GPS, pen and geotoddler..... I finally found GZ and all the frustration of the hunt was gone as the cache had me intreeged. On looking at the cache I thought it would take me a while to figure out how to get the log out. I tried an obvious option but soon realised that was very wrong. Then out of no where it hit me and I had the log in hand. This is a fantastic cache and I really enjoyed it. It is very clever without be difficult or complicated. Thank you so much for hiding and fixing it when it was damaged. I love this and will be giving it a fav point as well as a thumbs up and a good on ya!

22-May-14
Have been waiting for this cache to be repaired for quite some time, well worth the wait. Good hide away from the cycle track - very clever idea to retrieve log. Thanks for repairing this. Smile

21-May-14
We are giving this cache one last go... Please be gentle as the cache will not be repaired again & will be archived.

Thanks to the Parko's for your help with this one (again [:X])...

Will disable this one until we figure out what we should do with the cache... Sorry for any inconvenience, J&J Smile

03-Mar-14
We parked in the car park and made our way towards GZ. What a great park - I can see why Dylan likes coming here. We had a bit of a drama while walking through the bush when something [we think it was a wasp] bit me on the finger, but once we had recovered from that we commenced our search. It took a bit of going around in circles following our brand new GPS before we found the hide. The next problem was - how do we get the log out to sign it?! It took us a little while before we figured out that a vital part of the cache was "missing" but fortunately we happened to have one with us, so we were able to retrieve the log and sign it. I kept T-Tech company on a trip to Bald Knob today, and while he was on the top of the hill for work, I went off on a little caching jaunt Big Grin I've been close to this one a few times but never had time to stop, and seeing as it's my last green box in this area, today was the day! I had awful trouble actually finding the container for this one Twisted Serious cache blindness [:(!] Was on my third time around when I finally spotted it! I got the first bit sorted, but NOTHING I tried produced the logbook Sad Even a PAF with precise instructions didn't work Sad Back to the car I went and returned with a certain item and the logbook was rapidly revealed. Mmmmm... better send an email to the CO, methinks. TFTC, jasenjanine.

This was our last cache for the Meg#8 group today. Was hoping to see some Skippy's but we missed out. Went for a nice walk to GZ and was impressed with all the work that is being done to the area. Cache had been located and a clever person had worked out how to access. This was a very clever cache and had not seen one like this before so was really interested how it worked. Log signed as a group and we all headed back to our cars to say goodbye. Thanks for the day Meg#8 group. Thanks jasenjanine for showing us the lovely area.

I, too was part of this mob forming a now famous Pprime MEG outing. Number 8 today I was told. We were getting towards the end of the day which started with a few hill climbs. I arrived at the appropriate parking spot with Crew 153, still hanging around with Fangsoki, Pprime, Sweet_bee, La Kedi, /dev/gc0c, dahumbug, Dosshell, Parko's, AngelasansDave, SwellerFungus, Lady Sim and KJTJMJ. It was quite the crowd. I can't say the legs were feeling very flash after a big day, but I wasn't going to pass up this cache.

In fact, I had heard about it in passing before, but I had forgotten the context. Naturally, as we got close, the group split up as everyone took what they thought was the best route. When I arrived I caught a glimpse of the container and saw a few folk trying to nut it out. 'AH!' I remember now, someone had told me a while back that one of my caches was near identical to this one. I offered a hint and the logbook was soon in hand. The logbook, rather than the cache was signed before being replaced all as found. On the way out I was told another tale about this cache. What a stir simple little caches can cause. I really liked this cache - my 'replica' has been since archived, so kudos there. TFTC jasenjanine, a top cache to finish the day on Smile

29-Sep-13
Found with the MEG8 hoard, First there was a few of us that found the cache, but had never seen this cache before... But we were saved by the day by the Captain, who had surrended a cache like this to a bushfire. Great concept, smart idea, and I was impressed.

Thanks for the cache.

29-Sep-13
With MEG8, took the shortcut while most went the long way. It was quite easy to find although I thought it was just a clue and the cache was somewhere else.

So, what is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches across an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every mystery, every micro, every mountain and everything in between. This, the eighth group outing, was focussed around Mount Tibrowoocum and Mount Cooee, and north to the Landsborough township. After the traditional pre-start coffee - Fangsoki, Sweet_Bee, Dosshell, La Kedi, /dev/gc0c, Dahumbug, Angie without Dave, Crew153, Captain Terror, Swellerfungus, Lady Sim and KJTJMJx2 completed the mob attack on the day. Mobbed by the MEG mob as we drove past.

Well, the finale of MEG#8. Bodies tired from two tough mountains[xx(]. Everyone tired from an early start, only the one coffeeTwisted and a very long day. Only thing left working are brains.[8)] oh, right, it's a weekendRed Face. Well, we'll try this one anyway, 14 brains lumped together might be able to work it out[?] A little walk which was enjoyable to stretch tired legs, and the humour of the shotput area as we passed (check it out, hope to not break any putt records here) and thus we arrived. A few too many to all crowd in at once, but the challenge that lay before us was quickly relayed and a few theories were progressed before what we believe is the correct approach was tried and a logbook was revealed. Two other theories would have worked, but less elegant, the 'obvious' one would have just been messy so good thing we skipped that one.

A very elegant problem and a fitting finale for the day.

Thanks for placing this cache, jasenjanine. Mobbed in good condition.

16th for the day and lucky last for the MEG#8 crew.

Initially didn't know how to approach this one but once we got the convoy into the car park we were good to go.

No skippy's in the park today, but it may still be a little early for them!

Walked up and around the dry creek bed, round the bend and only a little way in we come across the ingenious cache. I remember reading the clue to this one and mention it now as initially the thought is that we needed to bring water. Nope. Everything is provided young jedi's. Someone has an idea and the cache is soon in hand! Have heard about these caches but this is the first one i've found.

A nice slow walk back to the convoy and a leisurely goodbye to all the wonderful people I've met today and I hope to see you again soon!

Our last fir the day as MEG 8, and a great one to end on indeed. Arriving in the first wave to GZ, I had a few moments before the throng arrived to try and decipher the trick. Unfortunately it was not me who solved it. It was however a great puzzle, and very enjoyable! Thanks for making the day a good one, a great bunch of hides.
Thanks JnJ

29-Sep-13
The final cache on the list for the MEG#8 group and we were all feeling tired from the efforts of climbing Mt Tibberoowuccum and Mt Cooee earlier in the day but we all took the stroll around to the cache location and once it was found we all had to check out the operation.

I have only ever seen one like this before and it works magnificently. A definite fav point from me.

After doing some on foot caching around the area a few years back and have been keen to return on the MTB and venture further along the trails. Setting off from the event coordinates at the northern end of the dam (I claim first to arrive on that one) I began what turned into a long day on the bike. There were already a few other riders on the trails so they must have thought it a bit strange coming upon a fully kitted out rider rummaging around in the trees.

After a failure at Addlington on Ewen I had hoped for a coffee at the local bakery to recharge my caching senses Razz. Unfortunately this seemed to set a sequence of events which were all going against me. As they were attempting to make my coffee the machine had a major failure [:(!]. Oh well the cake was good Big Grin

Now off for this cache – I was a little concerns when I found the large fallen tree up the cache is still there to be found, Oh dear what is this how does this work Surprised, I cannot have a third failure surely. Oh that is how it works then Big Grin

A good day out on the bike – a tad under 40 km and a lot more ground than I had planned but not the original plan http://connect.garmin.com/course/4651874

Not many people around on a wet morning which is just the way I like it. Smile GZ was found easily as was the cache but the log was still to come.

I could hear yoda saying, "with ease come out the logbook" and I thought I knew but that didn't work at first. Razz Then another voice was saying, "patience grasshopper" and after trying that move again the log was there to be signed. Cool

So after signing the log and returning everything I ventured back to the geomobile with my voices of reason trailing behind me.

Nice hide and it earns a favourite from me. Big Grin

Found myself near this one yesterday but couldn't find the right access road, so came back after picking up 14yr old E from Guide camp (with much grumbling from the back seat). I especially wanted to see what cache could earn so many favourite points! J and I headed off into the park, leaving teen and tween with the car. [I)] Headed towards the carnage left by the fallen tree, Surprised assured by previous logs that the cache was unharmed. Spotted it around the other side and just starting to examine the container and have a think when J arrives and after I repeated the hint, he immediately knew what force was required and we had the log in hand. Big GrinBig Grin I'm sure I could have figured it out, but might have taken a bit longer. Red Face Very ingenious! After the recent DNF, the cache CO asked me if I could check out this cache for him.
It's been a little over 12 months since I found this little beauty, and since then boy has the area become over grown, and yes a large tree has fallen close to GZ.

Gaining access into GZ wasn't a trouble at all and YES, the cache is still there, where I found it last.

Cheers wesso family Big Grin

Targeted this one on the way home due to it having so many favourite points. Great park; deserted except for 2 skippys. I haven't seen one of these before but luckily I had the idea come to me straight away as it was drizzling and the mozzies were coming out. Wont complain though as we desperately need rain. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for a great hide jasenjanine.
