Mathsnuts are over from the UK, visiting the inlaws. We have been staying at Springbrook, but today we're heading back to Brisbane. As I had managed to connect the map on my phone to the car for navigation, Mr Maths could see where all of the caches are, so he pulled into this area to search for this one. There was a very promising host item, but we checked as much as we could easily reach without any success. We did however spend a long time listening to the many birds and trying to take pictures of them.
Did a few circuits around GZ but no joy here.Wasnt going to climb to higher heights to search.
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. This morning we ventured out towards Springbrook before returning in the early afternoon to do a spot of caching around Robina and then raced over to Currumbin just in time for the afternoon Lorikeet feeding. The car park here was nearly full, but our Gold Coast parking good luck streak continued with one spot left just for us. Nice little walk and find, although not entirely peaceful, some motorcyclists certainly come racing down the hill. Thanks for the cache
A lovely day spent around this area with Kolour and chamad, we stopped for this cache while on our adventures.
The cache was missing, chamad had a spare and put it in place with the ok from the CO.
Thanks Aussie Liahona for the cache.

Willis007, chamad and I were down this way for a target Wherigo cache and this one was near to where we parked the car. We noticed that it hadn’t been found recently, so chamad replaced with CO permission. Tftc
After this morning’s walk, Willis007, Kolour and myself continued on and did a few caches around the area, this was one of them.
Knowing the CO and how many caches they have out, I thought it would be nice to help out and repair this one for them. With their permission, we were able to keep this one going. The hide is still in keeping with the hint.
Thanks for the nice hiding spot and fun tree. We signed the log and replaced as per hint.

This cache was very generously and kindly replaced by Chamad with CO permission. Thanks for your timely assistance Chamad. It is greatly appreciated.
I have tried to find this one on several occasions and I’m pretty sure I ha e the right tree now but did not find cache.
I'm wondering if this cache has been knocked out of its hiding spot? All good, if not. We may have been in the wrong place, but I think we were correct. We'll go back another time and try again xxx
Today, I joined a few friends with an early hike to Pages Pinnacle. We departed from Neranwood Park to take the steep ascent, and then had an adventurous climb along the razorback before getting treated to great views at that local summit. Following the walk, I took a drive along Mount Nimmel Road, and then walked up further fire tracks whilst finding the *Austin Powers* series. Mudgeeraba Creek rock pool certainly appeared to be enticing to make a dip, as there were a few people about.
It was then a drive along/through Upper Mudgeeraba, and then along a few scenic routes that traversed Advancetown Lake / Hinze Dam. I did pop into Hinze Dam and completed the [Hinze Dam Walk](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/92f34238-e46a-4fb5-8b34-2d6c632e5b83
) Adventure Lab. A few final stops were made in Mount Nathan, before heading home for the day.
Following my hike, I took a beeline to this geocache and I thought it wouldn't take too long to find. However my initial search of 15 min didn't yield the cache, so I hurried back to my muggle friends who must have wondered what I was going (I think they knew after I had explained about geocaching during our hike). I wondered where this geocache could be, and without phone reception here, I was on my own.
After saying farewell to my friends, I thought I would one last look for this geocache. I had found a few memorials at the entrance of this park, and inside, and the centred mown feature was found within a couple of metres at GZ. My attention turned to the large featured tree that was a little distance away, but several loops scrounging around continuing to not find anything, and then I returned back to another tree that was nearby. It was the searching/digging for a cache under a few centimetres of debris that had me looking in various places, but approaching a tree from a different angle soon had me realise that that was the probably geocache location, in that particular hollow. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A relief to have finally found this 1.5 difficulty geocache. Thanks Aussie Liahona for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Another epic day learning the ways of the Australian Bush. Got my first sighting of a python in the wild too (thankfully no where near this cache ) Having completed a hike nearby, dusk was falling as we stopped here before returning to the car. Glad if my geo-buddy who did the climbing into the undergrowth ti get to GZ. TFTC
Can't believe it has been 8 months since the last visitor ... and that was me!
Found what I thought must be the right spot, but nothing there. Circled around. No, that has to be it. Grabbed a stick and probed a bit deeper. Success!
Buried under about 3-4 cm of detritus. Cleaned up and put back out of casual view, but on top of the stuff it was buried in.
Beautiful spot.
Oh, and I spotted the 2 poles this time

No signal and the clue wasn't making a lot of sense. Even the two poles were only one so I just got confused. Will come back for this one another time
Cachly highlighted this cache for me today as I was in the area and it hadn't been found for over a year... So after climbing a hill for the Austin Powers Series, and collecting the caches along Mount Nimmel Road, this was my last stop for the day...
I pulled up, and thought it looked familiar... PirateLinda and I had stopped here for a rest stop in December last year when Mudgeeraba Creek was flooded and we were having troubles getting back home...
I remember there being tents down here, and everything being very, very wet... Today though it was a nice walk to GZ and other than a couple of muggles in the car park I had the place to myself...
Geepers couldn't decide on which of the two trees here it preferred so I went round both... I found a feature that appeared to relate to the hint, but couldn't see a cache so I went over back over to the first tree...
Thinking about it, and arming myself with a digging stick, persistence paid off and I unearthed the cache... I made my mark and returned the cache to it's spot, with just a little less natural camo... but who can say how much camo will accumulate in another year...
TFTC... very happy to give this cache some love and attention...

Having no phone reception made this one a tricky find but we located it and signed the log. TFTC
A lovely but eerie spot. I feel like I’m in a scene from Pet Sematery. Great location once again. TFTC
I was having bad gps wobble but eventually found using hint. Nice hidden place. FP. TftC.
TFTC! What a lovely little spot. We were thankful for the toilets definitely plenty of room here for some cricket and a run around.
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.
Today I did a caching expedition to Springwood, Natural Bridge and then over the border to Murwillumbah with geo-daughter. TFTC

Out today to Springbrook for a walk to grab some caches as well as attend the event up there . Now we are working our way back to the coast and caching along the way. After locating the right tree, we made a quick find. SL then returned as found.
Found on 25 January 2019. TFTC, Aussie Liahona.

Out caching today with 4 other Kiwi's, 4 of us (Rebel98, rustynz and Batgirl5 and myself) flew here to the Gold Coast from New Zealand a few days ago and we met up with our caching buddy lokky1 who is now a resident of these parts. We're here for 4 days and 4 nights and are tourists as much as we are cachers! We sign the logs either individually or to save space as ANZ (Alliance New Zealand).
As rusty has said we we were approaching Spring Brook from this direction to go and see the earth cache at Natural Bridge but the road was closed for repairs, never mind there is a cache here, and after a search in the likely location, it was found by Rebel in an even more likely location! We just met the previous finders too at the carpark, busy spot today.

We are on our way to Springbrook, and the car GPS navigated us here. Sadly this was the end of the line. As the road is closed, and we could not travel any further
Luckily I had loaded onto my GPS lots of caches, so what is a cacher to do, but check if there was a nearby cache and there was
As we discussed our approach, sitting nearby was a couple, cachers who had just found the cache! lovely to meet you Birdoo.
So here we are searching at GZ and its rebel98 who finds the cache. Love the cache container, I have not seen this type before.
Thanks for the hide Aussie Liahona, a lovely spot for a picnic.
A group of Westies: rustynz, rebel98, gorby, Batgirl5 and Lokky1 (some of the logs have been signed the ANZ Alliance to save on space)

Nice hidey hole. Unique container, no longer a film cannister. No worries with the find.
We decided to look at a few caches in our area that have not been found of late. Cannot understand how infrequent these caches are visited.
Co-ords were a bit out. Spent some time in the wrong spot and worried a couple of muggles walking past. Had to use the hint in a last effort and quickly found. TFTC

On the way to Springbrook and here our fears were confirmed, that the road is indeed closed for some reason - even a big fence and gate has been erected, so it seems that it may be closed for quite some time.
Well, we had a walk around this picnic area and admired the creek while we were here and were pleased to discover that a cache had been placed here for our convenience. Little walk across the lawn, found the pet memorial and confused by a stump at first, soon got to the right spot and had the cache in hand. Better than a film canister now. A good sturdy piece of hardware in a mossy hide.

Out and about on this holidaytrip down under. Many things to see and do here and of cause there are some geochacing to be done.
Did spend some time studying the map before I left home, my list of geocaches that I Would like to find is long....so will have to chose wisely.
Guess the best ones are not on my list, longer hikes, high trees and mulitcaches are anmong my favorites, but limited time made me put others on my list

The road was closed to where we wanted to go. No cell phone coverage here. So up the hill we went to find coverage and see if there were any caches in the area.... before the phone went flat!!! Lucky we read the hint as 65 metres from the cache the phone went dead!!!
After our roadtrip thruogh New Zealand, we had a couple of days to spend in Australia at the Gold Coast. We had a very good time and we also did some geocaches. This was one of those geocaches.
Aussie Liahona hartelijk dank voor het leggen en onderhouden van deze cache.

Out and about in this beautiful picturesque part of the Gold Coast with geo friends picking up a few caches along the way. This was my first visit to the area even though I have lived on the Northern end for over 25 years, I had never ventured down this way before. This was a lovely little picnic area with a couple of memorials that I viewed (R.I.P.) & thanks Aussie Liahona for bringing us to to nice spot and for the neat hide
Visited the area today and checked on the cache. All is in good order here. Someone has cut down the very tall pole that stood in the middle of the grassy circle by GZ. What for??!!!
Happy caching...........
Happy caching...........
Second visit or is it third to try and find this cache - very clever hide. Pity about the litter near the camp fire. Love the tranquil brook that you walk over on your way to the cache. Thanks AL.
Nice quick find then turned around as a huge staghorn was found up in the trees and i wanted to take a pic. I had taken the hiking shoes off and put on some teva sandals. Oh how i regret that as i was bitten by some bulldog ants which hurt like all f@#$! Tftc
Nice little spot to stop by and grab a cache. TFTC! We forgot a pen so took a photo of the cache to show our find
Nice toilet break for Cletus and a good leg stretch for us! Tftc with indianagleeson and geohound

Couple of local teenagers enjoying solitude and whatever else. Didn't want to spend too much time looking.
On a Queensland holiday from NZ. Quick find, shame about the damage some hoons have done to the grass. Toohey would not have been impressed! TFTC
I stopped off here after hiding a few caches in nearby Austinville. This cache was hidden well and after signing the logsheet I replaced camo.
Its a lovely spot here. I saw some memorials to pets and then walked down to the creek and ate my lunch. Fave point from me! Very quiet here today.

After a visit to Pollys, and a lengthy chat with the lovely Judie about all the local secrets, I decided to pop over here and check out the picnic area beside the Little Nerang River. It's good to see that the location is so well tended by the council, having been freshly mowed and even the toots smelled fresh(ish).
I had a good wander around the parking area, noting a third memorial has been added to the area since the listing. So sad. I then ducked over the road to check out the condition of the walking trail and noting its location for later reference. VERY good to know about, with parking so handy
Finally, I headed over the footbridge. Well blow me down, this area really opens up, doesn't it? The memorial by the picnic area looks a bit aged, but the memorial to the doggy seems to be regularly visited and tended, and reading the poem and seeing the favourite toy on top of the post touched me a wee bit.
Moving along I got to the back of the mown area, where I noticed that my compass had zeroed down while I was busy exploring. Thats handy, I must say. I spun in the correct direction, and found the cache a moment later.
Thanks to the CO for the cche here today, like all good caches, it enhanced the exploration experience and opened my eyes a bit. I would otherwise have seen this as just another road side rest area. Much obliged.

Container was not destroyed but had a tiny hole. We've replaced it though so it is new and waterproof.
Cheers and Happy Caching...........

Well, turns out we've actually already found this one but forgot to log it!! And strangely enough almost a year ago to date.... So technically we'd already hit our 100th.... Ah whatever the case Yay for another smiley in our map haha
The hiding spot is great but *please note* the cache has taken some damage, the container has been broken & the logbook, although of the waterproof kind, is wet. We were able to sign it however & put it back in its spot.

A quick find on our afternoon drive through the windy mountain roads. TFTC
My goal today was to try to find GC2GDDN Little Nerang River & GC2GDBR Fig - Not but I was greeted with a large gate and fence on Little Nerang Dam Road with very specific signs.. 'Authorised Access Only' 'No Pedestrians' 'No Entry' etc. Rather than risk a fine I reluctantly turned around and found the closest cache to me, which was this one
Thanks for the cache. The container is cracked but the log is ok.
Cheers

Had to bypass one as there were muggles sitting at GZ, so will come back for that one.
Nice little picnic area.
Toilets are fenced off but you can still use them.
A little walk among the doggy graves and soon had the cache in hand.
The container has a little hole in the side and I did not bring my extras with me.
Everything is still dry and we signed the log.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Aussie Liahona All good with this cache

Back in the area today for more Kokoda Hiking for my girls.... we got lost along the way here so we arrived about 10 minutes after the rest of the pack had already started off... so off the girls scurry in order to catch up. I met up with Bristracker here, although she had already found this one she couldn't remember it and accompanied me down to GZ... it wasn't long before I found the little fellow.... although the log is still dry at this stage, an animal has had a nibble and there is now quite a hole in the side.... I didn't have anything to replace this one so it might need some TLC when the CO is able or if the next cacher to make their way here might be nice enough to bring a replacement?? But... like I said, it is still dry at this stage
had a look at the lovely memorials on my way back to the car... we were still dry at this stage... it did not last much longer though :/

A nice quick easy grab on the way home for the night.. A spooky little stop this late at night. TFTC
Found a few days ago and forgot to log it. It was my third or fourth time looking for it and after having a think and have been following it for a while I finally found it! So happy! Beautiful little spot tftc
#808 What a delightful area this is. GPS took me towards the two poles and a couple of likely trees. Geowife had the eagle eyes here and declared its here. Co-ordinates were about 7 metres out. Thanks for the cache and the here Aussie Liahona.
The poles, what do they mean, found the cache.. there appears to be 4 memorials now..tftc
Found on return from a quick jaunt up toward pages pinnacle. Forgot to log, lucky I can track what day I found it! Nice hide, you'd never know the green was that big from the road.
After a 4 day conference last week, geohubby arrived on GC and it is time to have a holiday. He gets a bit frustrated in traffic, so it's out to the countryside today for some caching. Had to go south to attend some business, then further south for some finds interstate, now diverted off the freeway and out west for some more.
This is no 21 of 22 for the day. As we rounded the corner we were suddenly confronted by a campsite. No one home luckily. A lovely area.
Cache found easily. TFTC SL

Such a lovely little spot. The memorials to pets were cute. Hubby went looking in a harder place while I reassessed and found it easily. Some people were filming in the creek and they must be crazy because its freezing!
