#4 of 5 for the evening. It's been a while since we did the other Norris Rocks cache in the park. Today we returned after finding a cache in Bundoora Park. A bit of looking around, we found the clever cache. TFTC.
Second time lucky here today - an impatient DNF here a few weeks back was followed by some log reading and gallery viewing, and I came back today with a clear idea of where to look. A lorikeet popped out to see how I was going - he didn't need to watch long before I found the well hidden cache. Thanks 80degrees
I tried this about 4 or 5 years ago with no success so today it was time to try again. After trying around 20 or so locations I thought I might need some help. So after a call to the help desk I got some help - and a visit!! I felt very privileged. My visitor soon found it and I was so excited!! Happy to finally get a smiley here. After a chat I headed off to the next one. Thanks 80degrees for the hide (and the help).
This one had me stumped for a minute I really enjoyed it though once found pity his brother is currently fenced off thanks very much for the hide
Out to keep my daily streak going. On the way home after work I thought I would try and find this one. I had a good idea what I was looking for. Now where is it! Yay - I found it. Cache was in good condition. TFTC 80degrees
Not as simple as we would have liked, but not as difficult as we had expected after reading the logs. We were very close to contacting the help desk before Zedaycee stumbled across it.
Great little hide which took a while to find. So many possibilities but found and signed successfully. TFTC 80degrees
Great hide thanks for the hint. When you figured it out it leads you right to it
Thanks for the cache 80degrees
With Zedaycee and Angelique Anja.

Found on Sat 18 May whilst waiting for an orienteering event to begin. Always nice to be able to combine two events, especially these days when any travel time is on the increase. Coordinates were very good so placed me into the right area quickly. Lots of choices but a couple that stood out from others so was ABle to quickly hone in. All good with the cache although the log is starting to run out of white stuff. TFTC 80degrees.
Found today on my short GeoRide around this area near where I live, nice hide and interesting place.
I read previous logs and worked out what I should be focusing on. Bit there were so many to choose from. Oh well, just get on with the task. Five minutes later I got lucky. Great hide, but a bit hard on the knees.
Found at last. Glad to finally cross this one off. Was pretty sure what to look for this time but still took some searching (lots of possibilities)
Found after a couple of visits and help from other cachers. Glad to cross it off the list. TFTC.
It was one of those that takes forever even when it's right in front of you. But I eventually found it. TFTC.
A little further along the path and another find. This one took a little time to find but worth it. TFTC.
It is a long weekend and a sunny day...what better excuses do I need to get the bike out and grab a few caches.
I have been eyeing up the M80 trail for a while and today was a perfect opportunity.
I decided to take a slight detour down the Darebin Creek trail to grab a few nearby caches.
At the GZ I decided that I would need to look at the hint...A big fail deciphering the cryptic clue so I resorted to old school searching. After a few minutes I happened on what I was looking for. TFTC.

One thing about a 43° day, no Muggles in sight. I couldn’t believe the first thing I touched was right on the money. Off to big brother to see if I’m as lucky. TFTC
On our way to the airport today MontsII and myself stopped to find this cache. MontsII wasn’t very happy as he was hoping for an easy find since he was worried about the airport pick up, but I made the find just in time. TFTC 80degrees
Find#318 @ 1104hrs 13/01/18
Was out in the area doing an errand when I thought I might as well see what's in the area....OooOoOOo, this is not too far away....
The GZ was quick and easy walk from Norris Rocks 3, tho the finding of it took a little bit of patience (about 25mins actually)....nice cache, nice hide...curse you!! LOL!!!

This one has eluded me a couple of times but today I’m on a roll, I’ve already found 2 that where previous DNF’s for me as was this one. So happy to add a smilie to my map but full credit needs to go to GeoSon who made the discovery. Awesome hide too, I feel I’ll have an advantage when I go look for 3 now.
A 10km night hike allowed Gunks and I to pick up about 13 caches. Some harder than others. Tricky this one. Lots of tries and almost gave up before it turned up. Tftc
Went to 3 three but needed a tool to retrieve it. So went to number 2 and pushed around some little versions admired the bird life which was good. Just as we were about to give up we came across the goods. Now back on to number 3
In the excitement of figuring out Norris Rock 3, we completely forgot to log Norris Rocks 2.
Very different from each other, but Norris Rock 3 gave us a good hint for it's smaller brother. Could have ended up doing some crazy things to find this, luckily commonsense prevailed

So many emotions with this one. 80degrees would be having a field day watching all the fun us cachers were having. Another fantastic cache. TFTC
Crazy scene for ant colonies. Still flicking them off 10 minutes later. CIGC TNLN TFTC
The geotreadlies were packed, the GPSr charged, and a plan afoot. Posums, myself and my geosidekick in the car. Our mission: The M80 series, and a few other caches along the path between Lalor and Greensborough. We signed as chof_poss.
After finding Norris Rocks 3, we came here knowing exactly what we were looking for. Unlike the big brother to this cache however, there were many logical places to look. After scratching around for 5 minutes, we found the mini-me cache hiding. Thankfully, we didn't need any TOTT to retrieve this one. Thanks for these two clever caches, 80 degrees.

Out for the day with chof_hoe and morty on the geotreadlie's
We did a detour off the main trail to do a few of 80degrees caches in this area
Finished with big brother and now on to his little brother
So many places to look so off we went searching
We all went in seperate directions and chof_hoe made the find again
Not many muggles around so we had time to look
A very clever hide and we signed as chof-Pos
Thanks 80degrees TFTC

I always seem to attempt caches around 1am when all the bugs and animals are at their most active! It took a lot of convincing to get everyone to stick around long enough to find the cache. It took a little while longer than expected but was definitely glad to have persisted. TFTC
**Find #900**
OUR 900th Find. A great park to visit. Just grabbed Norris Rocks 3. Now to find the little brother. A quick find. The cache was guarded by a gazillion tiny ants. Which is good for keeping muggles hands off the prize. Another nice sneaky hide and thanks **80degrees** for bringing us here. TFTC.

After its big brother headed down the way with the younger UTurned to complete this cache. Arrived at gz and scratched our heads for a second and got to work. Took longer than it should as we somehow overlooked this hide the first time round. Luckily the park was quiet today. Tftc
Thanks 80degrees, I'm now legal, I signed the log today, it still amazes me this cache.

Found it at last, about 5 minutes into arriving, couldn't log my find as I didn't have a pen I will do so when riding through. Congratulations to 80degrees for another great hide, just like it's big brother, where doe's 80degrees find these hides?. I hope when I start to hide a cache I 'm just as creative.

Another day, another cache - now 106 consecutive days with a find. We stopped at this park to grab the cache and allow the geodog go for a bit of a walk. People who have trouble with this cache will hate us, as it took less than 10 seconds. Lucky for us. Signed and returned to same spot. good luck.

While in Melbourne for the day with McLookers and Tomstash we thought we would try our luck at this cache.
It felt like we were never going to find the cache until bingo we found the cleverly hidden treasure.
Thanks 80degrees for the cache.

Goodness me.....almost a needle in a haystack until The Tritonz made the find. Great camo and cache construction. The photo helped. Thanks 80degrees.
Got to GZ and though "this is going to take a while". I was wrong. I got it after a few rocks. TFTC
After a massive day in Toolangi ranges with friends, I swang by here on dusk to try again for this elusive find which I needed particularly for my DT.
After last time here I spent 1hr searching and had no luck - so today wasn't too sure. After a search I resorted to the hint which was extremely helpful. Best to say never go off what you know! I also got a PAF last time, which in hindsight put me off and had me checking wrong spot for too long.
Thanks for bringing me back to this park, didn't have time for it's brother, another day!

Thought I would be a fool and have another look here, but not so foolish now, with a smiley on another 80degrees cache, thanks to 80degrees for placing caches, and maintaining same
Looked and looked but the eyes not working here today, there was a lot of debris from the above green box which some bird has evicted or the game people have cleaned out and it is covering large area of tree base, but will come here again with working eyes another day
We were in the big smoke for a little bit of caching, socialising and cruising around with skullracing.
We stopped on the side of the road, to stretch our legs and see if we could find us a smilie or two
As we approached GZ we looked at each other and our eyebrows raised at the same time...hmm wonder how log this would take us?!
We stopped on opposite sides and commenced the methodical procedure which proved to be successful as skullracing found the little blighter in no time! I'm getting creamed today - skullracing 2 Coruze 0
Thanks for the fun and great hide 80degrees! [^]

Found with Coruze.
We were down in sunny Melbourne for a couple of cache of the year award events, and other stuff, and this was the first cab off the rank today.
Young Rinny and I wandered along the path to be confronted by everyones nightmare.....rocks.....
So she started on one side and I started on the other, and after an undetermined amount of time, the clever little blighter was uncovered and we signed our lives away.
Thanks 80degrees for the nicely camoed cache.

Joined Cathlud for her second attempt at this cache. Was great exercise lifting all those rocks. Of course it was the last one I looked at! Was pleased to have found it and that the rain had ceased for the duration of our search.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Out for a few hours caching with my buddy, jeckleberryandtedd.
I was unable to find this cache on my previous visits so I today I brought jeckleberry with me. She seems to have the knack of finding caches that I can't find. The rain had stopped but the search area was still damp and the local insects were plentiful under the rocks. Luckily the many ants, earwigs, spiders and beetles did not distract us and soon I heard the call of my buddy "I've found it". Thanks 80degrees for a great cache.

Good one. This took us about 20mins. Mrs kptwit68 found it after I and the kidlets had given up. Great one! Thanks very much for this one it was great fun (signed log as kptwit68)
Had a quick look at this yesterday, while waiting for the other 'Norris Rocks' to be available. (Some young thrill-seeker was practising jumping his bike up and down the boulder on one wheel - as they do!) Anyway, I didn't have any success, but at that stage I hadn't checked all clues. Even with the photo I still needed a long time! But much satisfaction in the end... Anyone who finds this at first glance deserves a medal - or is especially lucky! Great construction work.
My riding group had a BBQ at the park today so while I went and had a look for this cache.

I set off this morning with high hopes of earning three smileys from caches owned by 80degrees.
I know how difficult they are and after a 30 minute search at each of three caches I came away with two DNFs and one "found but could not retrieve".
I will return to try again in the future. Thank you for the effort you put into these challenging caches.
I looked at the hints, I read the previous logs, I thought a lot and searched, but I was unsuccessful today.
The lorikeets are no help at all. Surely they know exactly where the cache is hidden.

We came, we searched, we did not conquer. We left with our tails between our legs.
A very auspicious occasion today as Bettyboo3747 and I travelled east to help celebrate the 20,000 finds of Biggles Bear(s) and Muzza.
After an easy find on #3, we had no luck at all with this one.
It was a nice walk in an empty park anyway.
Thanks, Robmc.

Has a bit of a stroll out after work collecting a few cache in the area. I've been staring at these on the map for a while now. Great to see them as smiley faces. Tftc. Nice camo
I had not intended coming this way today but having seen one of your caches at Edwardes Lake I was inspired to come have another look here. I think this was my 5th attempt at this cache.
Ignoring the obvious and focusing on the less obvious in a systematic way soon revealed the cache and left me wondering why I had not found it before. Thank you 80degrees for the challenge. This one gets a favourite point.

I have a feeling of what I'm looking for but I spent 20 minutes with no luck. I will be back with back up pairs of eyes.
I ride passed this spot every week or 2 and I must be honest and say I have had 3 earlier attempts at this cache. I will just have to keep at it. Thanks for the challenge.
Wow that was fun, not haha. I had a decent look around but the sun was going down making things harder. Almost gave up and thought I'd check other logs, I saw the log about a bird laughing and at that exact time a bird landed and what do you know, it was laughing at us. Right then my son said "is that it?". Boooom the lil guy found it, after a high five, we signed, returned cache and headed for the car.
TFTC and hopefully next time I'm in the area Number 1 is in action.

but manage to locate with out the help of GPS, the mind boggles?
Another great hide and camo.

Attempted to do this one but GPS decided to play up, got me to locations
And then decided not to give me description or hint so I will have to return.

This was our second visit here. The first time I had to leave as a bird was clearly having a laugh at me spending all this time searching, it decided to leave it's mark on me, and what a mark it was. Off with the shirt and a run to the car to go home and have a shower.
This time I looked up intermittently, just to make sure we did not have a repeat performance. I went strait for the pic this time and still another 5 minutes were spent until I made the find.
A very sneaky hide. Makes me wonder how many other's have not logged their DNF.
Thanks for the cache 80degrees.

Found by Roma and Max.
This was our penultimate find for today and it was here we met up with Jim and Alison who had arrived to help with the #3 issue.
Roma continued our search while Max opted to chat and because we loaded the details onto our receiver by a method that did not let us see the clue photo she had to work her way to a result with us all watching!
Thank you again 80degrees for a thoroughly enjoyable day of geocaching, interesting destinations and some very cunning challenges that we have come to expect from your team.
Cheers,
from Roma and Max aka Romax.

I am somewhat bemused by the actions of organizations such as Metro Field & Game Australia when it comes to the placement of additional habitats.
We, as geocachers are discouraged, nay forbidden from attaching anything to a living tree using intrusive methods such as screws or nails.
After a short but unsuccessful search I resorted to the spoiler photo.
With the cache soon in hand I dried off the outside of the container and added our mark to the list.
Thank you for yet another great cache 80degrees.

Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. We knew the type of hide and so we got down and started looking. After some time we had no luck. L had a look at logs and come across some info which helped. Finally L made the find. Thanks 80degrees

GJMMelb
Out with GJMMelb and quiet1_au today. This cache had been bugging Q as he'd been here before with no success. We searched for quite a while, until I discovered a photo on the Geocaching app which was taken from GZ. Cache was in hand very quickly thereafter. TFTC
Back again to have another go at this cache that has eluded me on previous visits... lochb and G' of GJMMelb were with me this time so I was confident that with all three of us searching we'd have better luck! So we searched, and found lots of earwigs and spiders and other assorted creatures of the leaf litter. But no cache... lochb hits the logs and checks out cache page, noticing a couple of details that changed our search a bit, and eventually she made the breakthrough and a surprisingly large cache was uncovered - one of those how could I have possibly missed that before?!? moments! TFTC
Found @13:28 #3840
"IT's THERE, IT's THERE" the cockatoos screech at me over and over again..... "WHERE IS IT", I shouted mentally after 20mins of searching with no luck.
Knew it was here, but was getting impatience as I was on my way to a nearby event this afternoon and time was running out; so used a PAF. While waiting for a response I look again at GZ and considered the Terrain ratting and so started again and then I saw it. Wow!! a clever hide and man I am sure I had look there earlier.... A very satisfying find. The PAF was not needed after all. No one around at this time so all the carry by these noisy birds were not drawing any unwanted attention. Another impressive hide. Favorite.[^]

Took a little while to find on this cold July morning. Eventually after much searching, thoughts about giving up, i decided to be a bit more methodical with my search and it showed up straight away! Very good hide and really enjoyed the search.
A lot of bird life about and some screeching sulphur crested cockatoos giving me a hard time searching around the tree.
Thanks for the cache!
(Wish the pen i bought worked! It worked in the car. Doh!)

With mens tennis on in the back ground today, I had second thoughts about searching for this one but after a few minutes looking and scratching about I don't think that any of them even noticed us here. After 5-10 minutes of finding nothing but every kind of insect known to man and maybe even some new ones I thought about going and watching the tennis to calm down as this one was very testing indeed. Cleary this one was annoying my young son too because as we continued on searching he said, dad I need to go to the toilet. Well go over to that tree over there! as I continued on poking about whilst brushing off the recently made homeless ants climbing over the back of my hand. No I don't need a tree, I need to sit down. By now I was over this cache and if we left now I don't know if I would come back to it any time soon, as we were just about to look for a toilet block my youngest son spotted some thing and yelled found it!! Yes,... fist pump and high fives all round, happily we signed the log and then darted off to the closest toilet block, very satisfying indeed. tftc 80degrees.
Not a DNF, just a "did not look".
Too many muggles at the nearby construction site.
I didn't want to compromise your cache, just to get another
Will come back another time.

Checked out this one after #3 Got the hint. Just about looked under every rock and crevice around GZ. Looked at the tree nearby and saw a broken eclipse tin but it looked too new to be the cache container and there was no other evidence. Will have to come back to this one another time. Thanks anyway 80degrees
Suscoe's 16th and last find of the day here as we continued to enjoy our day out in the northern suburbs.
We walked to this from the previous cache and were expecting something special.
However things didn't quite go as planned.
After a good bit of suscoe searching we were fortunate to meet up with 80degrees in person and after some discussion the cache was located.
How could we have missed this was the puzzled thought.
So the log was signed and then we enjoyed a delightful chat for a while in the sunshine.
It was terrific to finally meet this team, we already had a great deal of respect for the quality of the 80degree hides and today further reinforced that.
Time to head off as we had a trip to the MCG this evening to hopefully see The Cats deal with The Magpies.... (they did deal with them, how sweet that was!!!!)
Thanks to 80degrees for this cache, well done and a favourite from us.
