Don't be like me. Don't make this harder than it needed to be and climb up the bank. Keep it simple and it will be in your hands before you know it. TFTC.

27-Sep-24
Great easy to get to hide! I left a trackable from the home country Very Happy

24-Aug-24
This one took a little while to find due to the large search area and my GPS packing a spaz the minute we got near the trees. Aurora11511 was with me and eager to make the find, but I pipped her at the post (heh heh! - I need to be winning, to encourage her out with me ). Happy to find this one as there have been a couple of DNFs. Happy to report it's still in situ, waiting for more visitors. TFTC Rattlingdags (I just looked at your name properly - always read it at Rattling s! Clearly, I need my glasses!

Niceee

04-May-24
GPS was also bouncing around for me, and with the dying light I flagged the search away after 15 mins or so. Another time!

07-Apr-24
Relief to find one after 3 no finds! Beautiful morning for a walk and bit of geocaching.

Sadly we had no ideas here and had to move on TFTH

18-May-23
GPS had me dancing around a little bit but soon had the goods. Tftc!

12-Mar-23
A little too easy to find. The cache was exposed so I made sure it was better concealed.

12-Feb-23
Having just walked up the escarpment track we were back at the car park preparing to head home, when I said I wanted to do one more - I didn't want to leave the single rogue green dot behind.
so we duly stopped here. Someone said it was a challenging find, but I already had the cache in my hand - I saw it one the approach. Mainly because I picked this tree, thing the other more of a problem - it had fallen over! I should have taken a photo. Anyhoo, found and no no rogue green spots on this part of this side of the highway.
Found with YetiNZ, TwigNZ, Ithyfeet2020, TrinityNZ, and.. and.. maybe some others. Some of these have already found this cache so you won't see logs from them.

12-Feb-23
We attended a event in QEII today and then chased the newly released caches around the park. One of those led us to just past this cache so a quick stop was made and the Seagnoid found it a lot quicker than some others have in the past by the sounds. TFTC.

12-Feb-23
In the area today with a group of geocachers attending an event, looking for some newly-released caches, and taking the opportunity to find a few others while in the area.

We’d been up the nearby track for an interesting walk - pretty hard going for me in particular (recovering from an injury) but worth it for the views. On the way home, those of us who hadn’t found this cache decided to pull in here and look for this cache, which was found with no problem. And a very handy parking area!

Thanks Rattlingdags for the cache Smile

29-Jan-23
I soon spotted a likely place for this and I was correct. Retrieved TB as well will take back to UK. TFTC

09-Jan-23
With the improvement in weather today compared with the last few days, I decided to take an early evening drive out this way to the Kapiti Coast. With the recent openings of the new motorways, I don't really see myself stopping much in this area to explore anymore.

It didn't take me too long to arrive at GZ after exiting the motorway. It was a lovely, quiet, calm evening and no muggles were about. After about 5 minutes of searching, I had the cache in hand. I discovered my first ever trackable in the cache too, which I thought was very cool. Replaced back after finding it and continued on my way.

TFTC

02-Jan-23
Found this cache with watcache and Xsaveya today while visiting Queen Elizabeth park.

01-Jan-23
Out caching with emiliyah and watcache was a quick find ftfc

24-Oct-22
Thank you!

25-Sep-22
Quick find once I got to the location, took me a while to figure out how to reach it by road. I biked from the whareroa farm carpark, got dive bombed by a magpie on the way.

11-Sep-22
Found it!

Did a TB swap and dropped one of my own off to start it’s journey Smile

Cache was nice and dry with a healthy stock of swag

Interesting area. TFTC

14-Aug-22
Easy we just over thought it

30-Jul-22
Out and about grabbing a few caches with the handsome while in Paraparaumu to visit family. This one appealed as it looked big enough to drop a TB in. All good in the cache, despite it being pretty wet in the surrounding area. TFTC. KTG

30-Jul-22
Out for a road trip up to Paraparaumu with KTG. Decided to take the back roads and collect a few non smiley face caches. Now our map has a couple more smiles than before. Log was nice and dry with it being placed inside a pill container which had a bag around it. Left a trackable in here to start its journey into the great wide world. TFTC

25-Jul-22
So often i have gone down thn the old SH 9 14 years actually ) and thought i must go off and check this cache out but i never seemed to actually do it so today when we went to do some caches and the Lab cache at waharoa farm we detoured up to this cache. the cell phone had us a little out but my trusty GPS was so much more accurate and i soon had it in hand. the log book is wet and the temp log strip is little better so i went back to car and got a small pill bottle and water proof strip to place in the larger container so all should be well here now. thank you for this cache Smile

24-Jul-22
A small diversion on our route to nab this beauty. I like these size caches. Tftc

16-Jun-22
A quick find. All good in container, although log a bit fragile. Tftc!

Friday afternoon, on a beautifully sunny day on the coast. I have the afternoon off and am driving south to stay with a friend for the weekend. A chance then to stop and look for a few caches that I keep telling myself I'll stop and get "one day" Smile

This was my first stop. Emerald Glen Road is one that I used to travel far more frequently many years ago but hardly ever these days. It was nice and peaceful today with only one or two other cars seen going the opposite direction.

Good parking at GZ, and I was expecting a quick park n grab. Indeed that should have been the case but I made far more of a meal of finding this one that I ought to have done. I missed spotting it on my initial sweep of where I ended up finding it, so went further afield. It's actually a shame that it is placed where it is as there's a fantastic potential spot for a great container (think ammo box or bigger) only 10 -15m away from this spot.

However, eventually I did find the cache and fulfilled the usual logging etiquette. Thanks for the inadvertent mini adventure lol.

04-Sep-21
Thank you that was a fun one to find

21-Jul-21
Out with Miss 14 on a caching day for the school holidays. We found this one at exactly the same time, me from the front and her from the back! Log book and paper is very wet, but as previous logger said they are still able to be signed. Swapped some swag. TFTC

21-Jul-21
Great cache! Swapped in some swag. Was a little damp! TFTC

20-Jul-21
Nice trip out here, log book quite damp, but signable with pen. Thanks!

27-Feb-21
Hope I found the right cache lol. Last signature was Feb 2019 though! Seemed to fit the coordinates and hint. Log book slightly damp, but otherwise all good here

11-Jan-21
Quick easy find. Tftc

11-Jan-21
Quick easy find before @peadub had time to shut the car door. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.

15-Sep-20
Thanks Rattlingdags for placing this cache

After visiting the nearby cemetary with my Dad we decided to cruise down here as he didn't think he'd ever been down the scenic Waterfall Road.

Very peaceful at GZ and cache soon found signed and replaced

26-Aug-20
I remember the start of the series well as I was 2TF on the first one so escaped being cursed!

This one took a few minutes but found when I looked at a suitable angle. Nice peaceful spot on a pleasant day.

The log was usable but the rest of the contents were in poor condition owing to mould or fungus and I would not recommend taking any swag. The cache needs to be sanitised and the swag disposed of or replaced. Unfortunately I didn't have any with me and anyway I would be reluctant to put any in there at present as it may not survive well. The hiding place is quite damp so it might be an idea to move the cache to a drier spot to alleviate the moisture problem.

TFTC which qualifies for a new Wonders of the World souvenir for me.

26-Aug-20
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

27-Jun-20
Quick find by mr 9. Just a note that the log is completely soaked.

08-Mar-20
Right in the open but hide it back

15-Jan-20

07-Jan-20
Found it

Good. Found

27-Dec-19
Found this while out and about with Flowerydaze. Although she has already found this one and thought it would be an easy find this was not the case. I found it quickly while FD was looking in the wrong spot. Sneaky hide TFTC

12-Dec-19
Out for a drive and a bit of cache finding on a nice evening. Found without much trouble, log books are all a bit damp. TFTC

22-Sep-19
I have had some success recently in finding caches that I haven't been able to previously. I think I had tried to get this yellow smiley on two previous occasions but I think I may have taken too much notice of what my GPSr was telling me when this is a site that seems to require a wider search area. I am sure the hint is more helpful than it used to be and I was able to track down the treasure quite quickly today.

08-Apr-19
Sneakily hidden!

08-Apr-19
Hidden better than we expected, thanks

08-Jan-19
Second go at this one but got it this time.
Thanks

24-Nov-18
#6257. Out for an early morning geocaching visit to the Kapiti Coast. Turned off the highway at Mackays Crossing and headed down this side road. Think this is the first time I have been down this road. Quite a few horses in the paddocks. Pulled up at GZ and looked around at the possibilities. One place looked promising so headed over there and soon saw some tell tale signs, at least to a geocacher. Cache was quickly in hand. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here Rattlingdags and bringing me to this spot.

24-Nov-18
Filling in time before dinner at Fishermen's Table in Paekakariki. Headed along this quiet country road to locate a couple of caches. Didn’t take long to find this one. #2084. TFTC.

27-Oct-18
Grabbed this one after taking the wrong road but decided to see what we could find and sure enough saw this one so stopped to grab it. Thanks CO for the cache.

30-Sep-18
Having enjoyed success with other previous DNFs in the vicinity we decided that maybe today was our day. On a roll, so to speak!
So, we popped by this one.
This time we made a straightforward find.
Cache all in order, although easily visible. Log signed, cache then safely re-hidden - with a bit of added camo to help.
TFTC Big Grin I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.
The Turtle strikes again!

30-Sep-18
Quick find on this one, it was visible from the road, so re-hid it a bit more carefully, all good here otherwise, TFTC

18-Aug-18
An easy find for me this afternoon. Retrieved TB. TFTC

01-Jul-18
Found on the way home after giving up for the day as the weather has turned terrible.
Nice quick find while being sheltered from the wind and rain

04-Jun-18
Got held up in the long weekend traffic heading back to the Hutt Valley, so decided to spend a bit of time in Paraparaumu. One of the things I wanted to do was find my cache for the day. I chose this one!

In the end the traffic wasn't any lighter by the time I hit the road, but I felt a lot better for having a break.

The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry. Dropped off a TB.

Thank you

Cherrys Rule

02-May-18
Straightforward cache, quite big but well hidden

18-Mar-18
Caching with Ethnz. We found the cache out in the open and the log book was soaking wet. Put in a new log and replaced the cache in the most likely spot.

18-Mar-18
Cache container lying on the ground for everyone to see. Logbook soaked so have put a replacement sheet. Will re-hide it as per the hint. TFTC

08-Jan-18
Nice easy find while out on walk with kids and niece and nephew. Ttfc

18-Dec-17
Tidying up a DNF from a couple of weeks ago. I can see why I missed this last time, but I really shouldn't have!

TFTC, +FP.

08-Dec-17
There have been a few DNF's lately so we went and had a look. It is still there. When you're on a Roll, be sure to Log your cache finds.

06-Dec-17
GZ was straightforward to find, but there appeared to be nothing there. In the light of the other DNFs this might be worth a CO check.

25-Nov-17
No luck for us. Searched area near large stump but no luck. Caching with Sproggles and Conkycon. TFTC!

14-Oct-17
Couldn’t find it

05-Aug-17
A short stop here for an unexpectedly quick find. Nicely hidden. TFTC.

20-Jul-17
Cool

18-Dec-16
We took a wrong turn and ended up here. Almost left with a blue unhappy smiley, but managed to find the prize in the end. Chers.

A day to get from Wellington to Whanganui. Time to find a few little boxes....

Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

03-Dec-16
A fun cache to find. Love it when we have to think and it's is not where we first expect. An awesome cache, thank you Smile

01-Oct-16
Wow. My Hubby and his slightly nutty and Oh so enthusiastic friend Sherlock the Puppy dragged me along as we were introduced to this strange thing called Geocaching. This was a great first ever find!
I loved the simplicity and the great camo of the Cache it took us a while to find as the GPS on the phones kept bouncing in and out but it was great fun watching our friend clambering up the bank showing us how much fun could be had plus I loved the placement set in beautiful rural surroundings and yet so close to the main state highway with horses watching on so then we then set on up the hill to locate the next cache... I have since gone premium and might, just might be hooked

# Introduced to Geocaching #

Well, this was the first Cache found in my introduction to this new hobby. My wife rolled her eyes and said "Here we go" (But that didn't stop her from downloading the app and creating a profile lol). My introducer, Sherlock the Puppy, had so much enthusiasm that it was infectious. Having found this one, and getting the awareness that there is this whole game or pass-time or hobby that is going on around us without many people really knowing is quite amazing.

This was a great first find as it shows the simplicity and the ingenuity all at the same time.

I think I'm hooked!

01-Oct-16
As I was in Wellington at a four day conference at the Michael Fowler Centre, and as it was the third day and my head needed some fresh air... what better way to have a break than by finding a few caches with a couple of really good friends that I had just introduced to this whole thing called geocaching. So welcome aboard RoaminBilly and StillSeeking! Anyway, under the watchful eye of some nearby horses, we quickly found GZ, and after a bit of searching we soon had this very clever cache in hand, log book signed, and cache placed back before anyone else other than the horses knew what we were up to. Thank you Rattlingdags for taking the time to set up this cache. This was an awesome one to introduce my friends to caching with... really appreciated your efforts. Great job! Smile

10-Sep-16

17-Jan-16
Last find of the day, and it wasn't easy! The GPS was bouncing and stopping all over the place so we were looking in the obvious places without any luck. Geo hubby eventually found the clever hiding spot - worth a favourite from me. TFTC

08-Oct-15
First find of the day. Surprised myself by finding quickly. Nice hide. Thanks for the cache.

15-Sep-15
Looked all around, nearly gave up then bingo there it is. Very clever. TFTC.

Never knew this road was here! TFTC, walked right over the cache at first!

16-Jul-15
Easy find this time, obviously far to straight forward, last time I was looking in all the most unusual nooks and crannies. Nice hide. TFTC

04-Jun-15
The second find for today, and the second FP awarded. Simple, but effective and another one towards the 100 10 7 challenge. TFTC

Nice to still be able to collect a few in this series, I also managed to also join the fun just before it was ended. TFTC, #7240

01-Nov-14
Another park and grab, but I did have trouble locating this one. I had even kicked the hide, trying to see if it was just under there, but moved on to clambering up the bank. After I came back down I turned around to see the cache resting within the hide I had earlier moved. Second of this series finds today. TFTC

26-Oct-14
Quickly found, nicely hidden. With metal-art.

26-Oct-14
