Nice location.

Night time raid #3 - in trying to open the cache the container exploded in our hands Sad we have spent all day attempting to find something just as tiny to replace it with but to no avail. So the cache is now slightly larger and we had to put it somewhere a little differently (but hobbits can climb really well right?)

09-Aug-14
Found but can't open it. I tried a pair of pliers with no success

Was out this way today so having an idea where the graffiti lane was I headed out and soon had gz in sight the are matched the photos exactly but after finding the little nano I could not get it open just would not turn. Have photo of it so just replaced as found. Thanks Kimsy for this little walk around Darby Street

Tiny but found smaller grate hiding place out in the open

27-May-14
Like others we didn't understand the numbers & decided to use the 1st photograph for our starting position. Walking along Darby St, we quickly spotted the laneway. Centred ourselves in the middle of photo 2 & 3, and figured it out. We found the cache but unfortunately we couldn't open it, very tight. Have photo as proof if required. Enjoyed the hunt for this cache immensely! We haven't tackled puzzles yet but thought we could give this a go & very glad we did! TFTC

No idea how to figure out the coordinates but recognised the pictures. Cheers!

A nice hide Kimsy and such a tiny log. I like the little sticky tape that keeps it wound tight.

No muggles around so an easy grab and sign.

Wandered up Darby St for the first time in over 10 years and found the laneway next to my old favourite cafe....found GZ, then spotted the hobbit, but the stubborn little bugger wouldn't open, so I couldn't sign the physical log (I can send a pic of me at GZ with the cache should the CO wish). TFTC and bringing me back to an area with memories of a bygone 'life' Smile

Don't give up! It's grate!

28-Dec-13
Replaced cache container for one with a better magnet.
Happy caching! Smile

Disabled for maintenance, will be back asap.

15-Dec-13
Good location after a couple of poached eggs on sourdough and a coffee. Needs some maintenance.

Like everyone else we had absolutely no idea what the numbers meant so we just decided to find it via the photos. The scenes in the photos looked familiar but we just didn't know what street it was in. Just as we were about to give up as we were driving around in circles, I happened to see the lane-way full of graffiti out of the corner of my eye. We parked the car around the back and located the obvious wall. There was a muggle getting something out of his car a metre from where the cache was so we decided to walk down the lane-way and go around the block. As we came back he was gone so we were able to find the cache and sign the log with no difficulty. The magnets aren't exactly strong though.

The photos lead us straight to GZ where Pat's brain clicked with his surroundings. After going to the other side he soon enough had the cache and handed it to me to sign.

Patches and myself decided to embark on another Geo-adventure. This is great training and exercise on the bike mixed in with a good time with a good mate so I was not hesitant to go! We began at my house to Mayfield, cleaning up a few caches before heading towards the sea via Islington. We happily scooped up IAATN2 and then headed around to the museum and eventually onto the ferry. Unfortunately we missed the ferry by minutes but I gained a flat. In the fifteen minutes I fixed the tube and we hopped on the ferry. We went out to Shipwreck ONE and then gained Adpolhe. I have never been on the northern breakwalls and it was a great experience. We raced back towards the Ferry but again missed it, this time by seconds. After a quick lunch we hopped back on and I noticed I had spilt my tyre and Patches had a flat! OH THE JOY! We went back into CFN and the boys had us on the road in no time. After some hills we picked up a few scenic caches around Newcastle and KEP. Pat had a dive in the Bogey Hole but couldn't find the cache. We truged onwards flying 50km+ down Memorial and up some killer hills through Merewether. Once at Glenrock we picked up a few more and had a secondary lunch. Onwards, we dropped by McDonalds and had a quick snack before going West towards "Wired to." We then went on up the hills of Garden Suburb before parting ways on the final ascent home.

I loved this cache. The GZ was awesome, really loved the references. Fave point from me for the GZ and theme.

Thanks for the cache Kimsy.

Cccritter7 and I finally managed to leave on time today, for our third big GeoCaching ride of the holidays. We set off from Cccritter7's house, heading out to Mayfield to pick up a few. We then headed to Islington, riding through there to pick up a few mysteries in the centre of town. After, we headed off to catch a ferry, which we missed. Luckily, this meant we had enough time to repair Cccritter7's flat. We caught the next ferry over, grabbing a cache, seeing a massive brown snake, then racing back to try and get the ferry. We missed it, giving us time for lunch, and for my front wheel to go down. Cccritter7 also had some mechanical issues, so we stopped in at CNF for a pit stop. Once finished, back on the road caching. Up through Newcastle to Merewether along to Charlestown. We stopped for a break, then were off towards the bypass, picking up caches along the way. We then headed up through Garden Suburbs, then back home, tired yet joyful from an exhausting and hilly day of riding and caching.

Nice tiny find after lunch on Darby St. TFTC Smile

I love this! Very Happy I'm another poor unfortunate who couldn't crack the code, but I know exactly where that graffiti is because The Kimble works close by. I headed down from the cathedral to meet her after her shift and we trotted through Moria until we reached the right spot. I had an idea of what I would be looking for already - very clever, it's perfect - and soon found it with no trouble at all. The nanoest nano that ever was! Thanks Kimsy, most enjoyable.

Was in an open area, could do with a stronger magnet. But a great little cache! TFTC.

Found at 4:28 PM GAFF5 in the company of a dry The Cash Man [B)]. This is where local knowledge certainly helps a lot. As the cache was being logged we heard a rather strong tinkle on the tin roofs - and within 30 seconds we were (I was that is - Mick had scarpered as soon as he heard the tinkle [:o)]) saturated by a massive downpour. The drains were flowing a metre wide and about 20 cm high!
Thanks Kimsy.
Feedback: A nice way to find a cache (has anyone worked out what those numbers mean?), but according to the guidelines it should not have been approved as you need to use a GPSr to find the cache.

Second time searching for this cache, walked straight up and found it, usually the case when you revisit an area. Nice hide in plain sight. Found with WebbyHRT, tftc

We often have dinner or coffee at this place, too! Nice reference to Tolkien, I can see how you got the name. First find with my beautiful wife.

06-Jan-13
Like other post it needed a magnet in it because it was on the ground and easily found so I put a magnet in it and placed it in same but better place tftc

03-Jan-13
We found the particularly nano cache after a short search. We knew the area so didn't try the coordinates, and not sure how the Hobbits references help. A fun find - our pen stopped working so couldn't sign the (tiny) log. TFTC!

No clue on the coordinates but the pictures were very helpful. Not sure if cache was in correct location but just found it before giving up!! Tftc

Found this with aid of the photos and I managed to park across the road, thanks Kimsy.

Well like the others we have no idea about the puzzle. But after an hour or so of mucking about on google maps back in Sydney we found where we needed to go.

We looked in the dark for a tiny bit just before 7:00 but had no luck. We then had dinner nearby at a pizza place and then headed to the cache again. This time it was darker and later, and the only lights we had with us were any lights emitted from the phones, GPS and iPad. The cache was nowhere it would have been originally so I moved on to searching the ground with my hands - where I found something very nano shaped.

It was the cache, but there was no magnetic ability in the nano. We signed log and replaced the cache with more cover, but it definitely needs to be replaced with a magnetic nano ASAP by the CO. We have a photo of where the cache is that can be emailed to the CO if needed.

After this nightcaching experience we headed to this coffee shop talked about in the description. The geo adults enjoyed nice coffees and the geo kids sipped delicious thick shakes from here. TFTC!!

Cache replaced.

Ky was at a show at the Entertainment Centre today so Daz went on a short spree. Daz and Mr CDM261 could not make heads or tails of the numbers last night but Google Earth proved very helpful. Once at GZ today the cache was quickly located however after many attempt the container could not be opened. Even so TFTP and C.

Log is wet. And can't be removed without being destroyed.

04-Jun-12
First find for new geocachers Steven and Angus Very Happy used google maps to find the location as we couldn't work out the numbers or the hint. Found after not too much searching Smile TFTC

Wow. Nano means small. No room to write on the log. A friendly cat was useful in disguising our purpose. Good hide.

28-Apr-12
TFTC found this one thanks to google maps lol. i hate nanos.

27-Apr-12
Sent the problem to my "absent-minded professor" brother in the U.S., he gave up so, like others I just drove around to find it, definitely hobbitville, TFTC Kimsy!!

No idea on the puzzle either but managed to locate the WPs and the cache without to many problems except the number of muggles.

Thanks.

24-Jan-12
Sorry to say I to joined the many who could not solve the puzzle on this one but knew the area well enough to get a quick find with no muggles aboutSmileThanks Kimsy for the cache

19-Jan-12
We tried for sooooooo long to work this puzzle out, wanted to be first to solve Smile. Trouble was over time it slipped out of our thoughts. Then today we ended up in the area and gave into temptation because the logs seem to say Subi-two may have solved the puzzle. We sniffed the cache out eventually, took a while as the listed container size threw us off a little, once we concluded it must be different than that stated we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.

A quick find, the sun showed the hide off from long range. Nicely constructed puzzle and concept Kimsy. [1232]

04-Jan-12
Found this with UncleGrog and the kids Dino and Pebbles on the way home from shopping. I had looked at the puzzle: no idea, like the others I don't know what that is going on about, but a quick search on Google satellite pictures had the position of the cache pinned down. TFTC.

Stopped for breakfast this morning in down-town Newcastle, and as I was walking back to the car I spotted a "muralled" alley way. Hey hold on - that looks familiar!!!
A quick check on the iPhone confirmed that I had stumbled upon this cache's strarting point!!! Given that I was going to be early for work I headed off down the alley way to seek out the final location. After a short stroll I had cih in the first place I looked. Only difficulty was retrieving and replacing the cache without raising the suspicions of teh local pedestrians and council workers down the street a bit.
I promise to work through the puzzle over Xmas:) to complete this cach in its entirety. Log scroll seems to have been damp and is a bit full so could do with replacement.

Didn't bother with the numbers. I just do happened to be stilling at a cafe next to the lane and it was a relatively simple find from there.

10-Dec-11
Didn't understand the numbers but with the photos it was straight forward. We also like this area and live close by.TFTC

09-Dec-11
We have never been to this area so finding the site of the picture took a lot of Google driving around the streets. It was great to park next to the alley today and stroll through to GZ in a very apt location. Lunch followed in one of the nearby cafes, making this a memorable cache for us.

10-Nov-11
Took a second go at this one as I did not read the container size. Once done after dinner in a nearby eatery it revealed itself in no time. Like everyone else the numbers did not lead me to it as I could make no sense of them. No-one it seems can crack the code. Only brut force it seems.

05-Nov-11
Found while out with the family. I still have no idea about the numbers but after looking at the photos I knew where it was. I walked up a found it quickly which was lucky as you have no idea who is nearby watching. There must be dwarf hobbits live there although I didn't run into any. Thanks Kimsy

We did some google earth research on this one & worked out exactly where we had to go. Mrs C grabbed a coffee before we headed off to locate the cache. We too have no idea what the numbers mean. TFTC.

31-Oct-11
After much looking, a little help, and a little luck I found it. It's definitely one of the smaller ones I've come across.

31-Oct-11
I have no idea about the numbers and had no idea about "Helm's Deep" until I googled it, but I do know where that particular graffiti is, as we also like that area for coffee.
So a quick stroll to locate the cache (no muggles around) and then........no pen! Back to the car for a pencil, sign log, replace cache, and in for a coffee!!

I knew where the photos were taken so i dropped by during lunch break But I stood at the location for as long as I dared without raising suspicion and have could not find the cache. I'll have to have a look at the description and return another day. Can anyone offer more clues.

27-Oct-11
Still don't know what the numbers or the hint mean but after a bit of research the other night while on dogwatch i was able to work out exactly where i needed to go to find the cache.
This morning i headed off to where i'd worked out that GZ was and after a bit of searching inbetween a fairly constant flow of muggles passing by i was able to find the cache.
A nice easy puzzle which led to a nicely hidden cache.
SL....Thanks Kimsy for the cache.

Reperio at 1845. FTF! Had just left the hospital when this one was published, but being a puzzle, I didn't think I'd have time to have a proper look at it to solve it. Sat down and home and decided to have a quick look at it, and after reading the description and looking at the picture clues, I had everything I needed to find the cache. Off to GZ, and it wasn't long before I picked up the trail, and once I had pinpointed the right spot, the cache was soon found. Certainly am a fan of LOTR.
