This was kind of hilarious. Had hunted for a while then decided to give up. Put my hand out to balance myself and felt something cold. Yes!!! It was the cache, and how good am I? Happy to have found it, TFTC.

We have to agree with the previous finder in that the tree in question seems to have been trimmed lately. Thanks anyway

20-Apr-23
As two people with bee allergies this was challenging. Also there was evidence of recent tree chopping. Sorry we couldn’t find

TFTC! 15 January 2023 4:59:20 pm 4635
Had most of these solved for a while, and the remaining few solved in the car this morning. A quick find today. Hoping to finish picking up the rest of the series.

10-Nov-22
Found it. Thanks for the series. Be warn that bees are nearby on the tree

01-Oct-22
Holidaying in Victoria had a look at caches that are near our accommodation and came across this series. Given my love of pirates I had to give it a go. Early morning start with the kids while everyone else slept in.
Quick find. TFTC

19-Aug-22
We were heading over to Phillip Island to ensure we were there for the start of the Great Victoria Cache Crawl. We caught the ferry from Queenscliff and had laid ourselves a cache trail to follow around to Phillip Island.

The weather was great for caching as the sun was out and the wind was merely a gentle breeze.

We have had the Jack Speak series solved for quite some time and today we had the time to find quite a few of them. We suspect they were designed to be found heading in the Southward direction, but we were able to find a safe park for all of them as we headed roughly Northward.

We found the cache safe and sound, Thank you -Lisette- for this cache and to pimpmyballoons for adopting and maintaining this series.

09-Jul-22
Our with jaamce3335 to Finnish this series, cache found and log signed

Another quick easy, so far all in good condition too.

28-Jun-22
Wow, it's nearly eight years since we found the Jack Speak caches, but this one was missing. It's well and truly here now, and we are pleased to have finally added our mark in the logbook.
We still did not get around to finding Avast today - hope to get there before another eight years pass!
Thanks for keeping this cool series alive!

Find # 10872

Found with sharkiefan.

The task for today was to tackle the Jack Speak series and a few around the area.
Despite the morning drizzle we still managed to make the Jack Speak finds along the road. Even with a DNF we still managed to work out the final.
Then when the rain passed and the sun was out we done more exploring and finding quite a few "Welcome to..." cache at each town we passed coming back up.
Throwen in was a couple other puzzles we had solved.
A fun day had over on the Mornington Peninsula with a total of 45 smileys for the trip.

TFTC -Lisette- (now adopted by pimpmyballoons)

14-May-22
Found with FUF009.

Jack Speak Day.
We had planned this trip a while ago and had the puzzles solved even longer ago.
Depsite the wet weather and gloomy looking day, we decided to head out and have a crack, prepared to give it up if it became too miserable.
Pleasantly we ended up with some beautiful if not windy weather and had a great time out this end of the state.

It's the 12th of the month and time to go caching... Why? Because I have (foolishly) taken on **400 Challenge....with a twist** which requires you to find 400 caches on your choice of a particular day of the month... and the 12th is my choice as that day had a big head start over all the others. My plan for the day was to finish the **Jack Speak** series and so here I was on the Mornington Peninsula.

After a successful start on this series this morning... and lunch out of the way, I was back at it... find number six in the series for the day... a nice easy find.

Thanks **pimpmyballoons** for keeping this cache and the whole **Jack Speak** series going.

15-Apr-22
Liked this one. Went in the back way as traffic was a bit busy. Easy found when at GZ, TFTC

28-Mar-22
Having camped overnight on the foreshore it was off to Bunyip today, via a few DNF redemptions and a some high value hides.

Here to redeem this DNF now that the cache has been replaced. A much quicker find this time around.

Thanks pimpmyballoons for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

15-Mar-22
We solved these puzzles some time ago and finally managed to find time to come down to this area to find the caches. Apologies for some generic logs. Most of these caches were found reasonably quickly. Thanks to -Lisette-/pimpmyballoons for the cache.

12-Mar-22
All good.

05-Mar-22

Given myself the challenge of trying to complete this series. Sometimes the names would appear in the puzzle within seconds, sometimes it took 20 minutes to find it. Have solved them all and now it’s the task of getting out to find each of them. Will have to return to the few I found in the past to collect possible clues I may have missed.

They’re not really my kind of caches and many of the locations are awkward and inconvenient to get to, but I suppose it is what it is. At least there was a back way to access this via a little service road and possibly being watched by the residents but at least out of view once at GZ, but not out of view from passing cars.

My thanks to the previous CO and the current CO for placing and maintaining these.

12-Feb-22
With such great weather today, Jetsons23 and I set off to chip away at this series which we had solved the puzzles for some time ago. Kid free was something we don't get to do often. A variety of caches and hides kept us busy. Will have to come back again to hopefully finish off the series soon.

Thank you for the puzzles and cache here -Lisette- and pimpmyballoons ??

12-Feb-22
Out on a spectacular day with oshfam, we decided to do a couple more of these series having solved the puzzles a while ago. Had fun doing the puzzles. And equal fun collecting the caches. Thanks for the cache.

09-Jan-22
Finally this cache has been replaced and am nearing the end of this series just one other to find then off to Avast!
Thanks for the cache

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi pimpmyballoons,

This cache has been listed as possibly needing owner intervention. You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ recently which explained what you needed to do.

The cache is being temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

Whilst it is recognized that as a result of the current COVID19 situation, it might not be possible for a Cache Owner to just pop out and check on a cache, we still need to know that you are on top of the issue.

CO's of caches disabled during the current COVID19 crisis will be given some extra time to react. Caches where the cache owner does not currently feel it is safe to maintain will not be archived in the normal time frame, **as long as there is some indication from the CO. Don't let a lack of communication kill this cache.**

#What should you do:-#
- Should the Regional Health and State Government requirements allow it **AND** you feel it safe for you to maintain this cache now, please feel free to do so.

- **Alternatively,** what you need to do is place a Write Note log indicating a date when you expect/hope you might be able to attend to the issue/s.

#Please Note#
When the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, **or there is no acknowledgment from the CO as requested above,** it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.

I will check and replace this as by end of September

29-Jul-21
Nothing here we can find. Recent branch broken off, wondering if it effected location.

29-Jul-21
After Lockdown 5.0, much needed caching was needed and what better way to do it by going out with my caching buddy Jetsons23. We had solved the Jack Speak series a year ago and it has taken us this long to finally find the time to go out and collect them. With the kids at school, we set off for our adventure. The sun even came out for us.

After circling the tree here several times and conducting a thorough search, we concluded this one appears to be missing and seeing what looked like a recent large chunk of the tree was missing/broken off, this seemed to back up our thinking here. Since this cache has not been found since June 2020, it will need a check by the CO.

Thank you for the cache and series Lisette and pimpmyballoons for adopting it to keep it going

29-Jul-21
This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Large chuck of tree broken off/missing and this cache hasn't been found since June 2020.

Searched everywhere but was unable to come up with the goods today. Did a few laps of the tree but no find.

05-Jan-21
Couldn't find anything.

19-Jun-20
Why am I surprised? Accurate co-ords help! Not sure all this naval lingo will help me in the mountains, but this series was a confidence booster to puzzle solving capacity which is close to very average. Really enjoyed the research and the big ticks. Nice day out before the BIG winter LOW looms in on us. TFTC

23-Feb-20
Found with piggy and laughing lyrebird! My kids!

15-Feb-20
Another Mornington Peninsula caching run today to pick up the first half of the Jack Speak series and then a few other odd caches here and there towards the end.
I'd solved the puzzles about a month ago, finally taking a closer look and realising they weren't as scary as they seemed, progressing through the series in spare time over about two days - nice and relaxing puzzles to solve that I enjoyed sitting and working out.
Overcast weather today with the occasional drizzle and lots of adventuring resulted in me becoming rather damp, streaked with mud and bitten by mozzies by our return home!
Thanks to -Lisette- for placing this series and maintaining it through the years.

A slightly different yet similar container to that of which I've been accustomed to in this series.
Circled around a particular tree (through the long grass) until I managed to spot it in its little hidey-hole.
Don't know how much longer I would've tried searching for this one had I not spotted it on the first lap around!
Signed the log and returned it nicely tucked away.
Thanks for placing this cache.

TFTC, Brainiac03 Smile

Small cache I was lucky to spot quickly. As usual my GPS said it was 7 mtrs further away, but my geosenses were spot on here.

31-Jul-19
Out with my geo son today doing our first geo trail together. We had finished interesting puzzles learning about all the navel terms a while ago and was just waiting for a full day to pick them up. Great day starting with the sun just rising and finishing off as it was setting, Discovering this area was an added bonus. Picked up this along the way. Thanks for the series Lisette we really enjoyed our bison day.

31-Jul-19
Out Caching with XAMBO4U for a Mother Son adventure day. Time to knock out this series!

16-May-19
#15959. Heading to Portsea for a few days but detouring down the left side of the Peninsula so I can gather up the Jack Speak Series that I have wanted to do for so long. Also picked up a couple of "Welcome To" caches along the way. Two DNFs and a lot of caches without clues did not help me to get the final - which will have to wait for another visit, maybe!

Much smaller and different to what we have been looking for. This was the first one we actually found a clue in.

Thanks -Lisette-

27-Apr-19
I made my way back down the peninsula via Hastings today to pick up some more of the Jack Speak series and a few other geocaches in the area. I once again parked right quite close to this one and it was another quick pickup. Thank you to Lisette for placing the cache and the series. looking forward to completing it

It was leafotwind's idea to see if we could knock off the Jack Speak series (which he'd done the virtual hard yards on), and maybe turn the outing into a 50+ day. I provided the vehicle as he's, er, between cars at the moment, and despite the weather not quite cooperating, we achieved our goal, and some.

Only one DNF, which is pretty darn good considering my usual blindness to one particular kind of hide which happened to predominate this afternoon.

-Lisette-, thanks for a fun trail of caches.

11-Mar-19
I had solved the series some time ago and had always intended to try and combine it with a couple of the shorter series' put out by other cachers to achieve a tally of 50 for the day. I thought some company might be in order both to add to the fun as well as provide a separate set of eyes. Nirgalagrin answered the call and a good thing too! He dialled in a little earlier than I and a number of those bisons might have taken a lot longer without him!
We did end up hitting 50 for the day and amongst those found the only 5/1 trad in the whole of Victoria by happenstance!
Thanks to all the COs who placed these caches for everyone to enjoy and indeed in the case of the Jack Speak series have maintained them for all these years.

10-Mar-19
I was staying in Balnarring this time last year and discovered this series. Here again this year and am on a mission to try and finish it. A difficult find here, i was circling the tree for ages. Tftc

31-Jan-19
Crustyvarmint and I decided to attempt this series after completing the puzzles but after doing about 10 of them we thought it might be advisable to go back to the ones we had already completed to check for clues. Oh well a newbie mistake I know but I was having a bad day.
Saying that most of these caches were reasonably easy to find (some more difficult) but well set up puzzles, a joy to complete and informative. Great series. TFTC.

31-Jan-19
I went out today with Bunadoorian. We had each solved the puzzles to locate GZ, then shared the hunt. It was an enjoyable trip and we gathered the information for the final, but somehow it didn't work. More time required to complete the task. Thanks very much for the series Lisette. Please accept the generic response for our finds today.

23-Jan-19
Sneaky hide on the side of the road. Thanks -Lisette- for the series. Very much appreciating the hunt and enjoyed solving the quizzes.

06-Jan-19
After the hectic festive season, I needed a day to escape from my busy life and do this series with beckNmonts. I really enjoyed exploring this area. -Lisette- Thanks you so much for the fun series.

06-Jan-19
Pwala and I decided it was about time we found these caches. We had solved the puzzles about a month ago, but today was the day we were both finally free. I was skipper for the day and Pwala the main finder. We managed to only have one DNF for the series, and had a great afternoon! Thanks so much for placing this series -Lisette-

Happily, a nice quick find.

17-Aug-18
Heading down the Hastings, to drop off my son's car, now that he is finally turning 18 this week. It is a beautiful sunny, winters day which allow me to stop off and stretch the legs while making a few finds for the day. Unfortunately, I had a number of DNF's and not so used to the muggles of the city, decided to leave some for a quieter day. I discovered many great and clever hides. A very successful day, a great to catch up with my son.

Had solved this some time ago, so it was good to finally be in the area to make this find. Pulled up nearby but there were a few big puddles that I had to avoid. Once at GZ, went around in circles a few times before the sneaky little hide, was eventually spotted. Then it was just a matter of getting the log out to sign.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems along way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks -Lisette- for the puzzle and placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

I was able to park right in front of this but I still felt very exposed while looking for it! I found it easily but not quite as easy to get it out of its hiding place! I finally got it out and had the log signed and back quickly. I almost got my car stuck in the thick mud where I parked lol but all good!

Headed out this morning with MazzyMay to find a few in the area. Easy find TFTC

10-Sep-17
After spending yesterday doing domestic chores around home, we sat and worked together to solve this series after dinner.
With +Wife doing the first part and me finishing each one off, it only took until 2am!
This afternoon we drove down here with our GeoMutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie.
We picked up two letterboxes and a total of twenty in this series. Smile
Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Big Grin
Thanks for the series -Lisette-
We will return to complete the course.

10-Sep-17
It was a lovely afternoon for a drive. The Geomutts are always impressed when their day includes sitting in the back seat, watching the world whiz by. Barking at other mutts and checking out the sights, sounds and smells in new areas.
Today had all of that, and more. Fish and chips in the park. Many finds and not a single dnf for us.
We started at "Letters to Dad", continued on through this series and finished our day at "Letters to Mum".
We love our chooks. Fresh bumnuts every day and great personalities too.
Thank you for placing this cache for us and others to solve and find -Lisette-

An interesting puzzle series that I enjoyed solving. I got started on looking for them pretty late this evening, and ended up looking for most of them in the dark. As a result there were a few that I didn't find that are most likely there. Cheers and TFTC

14-Apr-17
Solved the puzzles for this series in the week and thought I better get out there and put the smiley faces on the map. Went off on a tangent initially trying to solve these but the co soon recalibrate my head. Hopefully these will put me in good stead to get me to my 4000 find this Easter break. Thanks for the fun, TFTC

11-Mar-17
GPS was taking us to the wrong trees, however after working out the correct spot to be looking, it was just a matter of time until the well hidden cache was found.
The girls didn't like the long grass or all the spider webs but worked thru to help in the find.
Thanks for the cache Lisette

Find #3202

Over the summer weeks I have been utilising the extra daylight to do a weekly morning caching run down the peninsula before heading to work. As we push on into autumn (and before the hour changes) I notice the sunrise getting gradually later and my daylight opportunity lessening. This was my eighth find of nine caches this morning that I was able to grab on a well planned route. I had found most of this series ages ago (December 2015) and solved the puzzles before that. This one took a little while before I spotted it tucked away. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for this cache and for the series Lisette.

Glad my geodaughter was prepared as we need a tool to retrieve the cache. TFTC

Jack has spoken. I have had these on the Astro radar for a while. Great to explore and also catch with AstroThomas who is working in the waters near by. met some interesting people and tasted some good local food and sipped some local beers as I explored over a few days here.

Thanks to -Lisette- and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

Found this cache today on this absolutely beautiful Melbourne day filled with sunshine....... Not, but you think a little rain is going to stop me from doing this crazy game hahaha. Today I spent the day with BendSinister picking up caches around the Mornington Peninsula (and completing another day on my caching day streak yay it's day 20 haha) with the intention of finding the new lord of the rings mysteries and anything else along the way. Anyways I would like to thank you for the cache and the adventure that we had today, I really love this game and want to go out to do some more soon. Cheers

The long-planned birthday cache run finally arrived! Having discovered that Omegaman1971 and I were born only two days apart, we agreed to go caching to celebrate our almost-joint birthday. Omegaman invited a few geocaching friends along, and we soon had a couple of cars full. After birthday cake and presents in Hastings, we piled into cars and started out on the Jack Speak series. We had planned this trip months earlier, and had long since solved the puzzles. We picked up a few other caches along the way to add to our collection of smiley birthday faces Smile In the end, I did find my 1000th cache; it was nice to do it with such a great group of geocaching friends!
Thank you to everyone who placed and maintains caches in the region. I look forward to completing more of them when I move down to the Peninsula next year...

30-Jul-16
Okay...we have finally got to the Jack Speak series with 6 cache teams. We all worked on the series prior to arrival and moved though them progressively, making quick finds in most cases, although there were a couple of tricky ones. Also learn a lot about naval expressions. In most cases, this will be a generic post. Thanks -Lisette-. Great work. I never knew this about eggs. I made this find

Suscoe had a delightful day out on the Peninsular today.
It was mostly sunny with a cool breeze and some rain came in late in the day
How lucky were we.
Saw some beautiful countryside and enjoyed a fantastic range of caches.
What a happy idea this is, makes sense really.
Thanks to -Lisette- for this hide and puzzle.

Found it. Replaced log. Cache in good condition. TFTC

A pleasant Easter Saturday drive to collect some more of the Jack Speak series. My husband is doing the driving while I jump in and out of the car.
When my teenage sons were young they used to call Drumstick icecreams 'Bumsticks' and it has caused a laugh in our family for the past 15 years. This cache reminds me of their funny ways.
