Nice little walk through the bush for this cache. It needs a bit of TLC, I have logged this with the cache owner.I also did not spot any Aboriginal Wells. TFTC.
Had some children checking me out and wondering what I was doing out here. Luckily I was able to sneak in the find.
Just a brief walk to an easy find here. The cache is in poor condition and the log soaked unfortunately. It needs a maintenance visit.
A beautiful autumn day. A short drive and walk from our camp at Melville Caves. A wonderful quiet location. Cache is in need of repair - contain is cracked with water damage to contents. TFTC.
Out with MelloJnr & KIFKAT for an afternoon caching. Quick & easy find, container has deteriorated & needs replacing
Made a last minute decision to hitch up the GeoPod and take off for an overnight getaway to target some caches on some roads less travelled. Stopped here taking the long way home. Cache found easily enough. Saw the sign re the Aboriginal Wells, but couldn't spot them here. TFTC billywillysillydilly.
Excited the local kids and dog with our arrival... there seems to be some sort of an active camp across the road.
Easily found the cache... on the ground and exposed, so relaxed it back off the ground with some cover for an easy find.
TFTC but no Aboriginal wells!

A great spot for a cache have been wanting to do this one for ages.
Signed and replaced. All good with the cache and contents. TFTC.

We didn't have any luck spotting the wells either. maybe someone else will do better.
Caching slowly towards Wedderburn this afternoon we managed to find an assortment of easy roadside placements and a handful of more strenuous rock scrambling ones while in the company of Wozzle68 and McLookers. We searched the area for signs of these historic wells but had no luck but fortunately we came up winners with the cache.
Thanks billywillysillydilly for bringing us here to this important part of Australian history.

My last for today, thanks bwsd for a fantastic insight to this area. Found with The Tritonz and wozzle68.
The geofamily are off on another trip to Mexico. Fun, sore backsides (for some) and Dad getting the geomobile stuck and breaking his bike, TWICE were the highlights of the trip. One of the running jokes for the trip was 'If it's 2.5T it's laying on the ground, if it's 2.5D it's under that pile of rocks or in the open, if it's listed as large we are looking for an eclipse tin' which came about due to a number of early finds. The lasting memory from this trip will be the grass seeds!!!
We found the cache but not the wells.
Thanks for the cache billywillysillydilly.

Geofamily trip to Victoria... Cool!
Mrs Moneydork, Moneydork, sushilord and I left Friday morning for a 4 day jaunt over the border to find a cache or two
Two nights in Wangaratta and then a night in Bendigo left me with 10 DNFs and 205 cache finds one of which was a FTF
Day 4 was travelling from Bendigo to Berri then home and with 2 DNFs and 21 finds, it was another good day
Walked in expecting to see Aboriginal wells.... that'll teach us to read the cache description first
A nice wander in a nice bush area though

Find No. 1401. Found at 2.50pm
A day in Wedderburn for 'the old blokes' events and to grab some caches.
After lunch we decided to head out the road to grab the ones out there. As this cache was close by and I was still yet to find it FUF009 drove out to the area. A nice walk in the bush and soon the cache was located. Log signed and then we headed back into Wedderburn. Surprising what is around in these bush areas.

Now that ive left, I realise that I accidentally took the pen. Sorry any cachers that follow. Took no swaps though. Will return with a pen next time.
The Guppy family! Excited! This is our first ever geocache we have found as a family. 2 parents 4 kids + 1 dog
Sully1 and I enjoyed the walk to this one, and despite it not being found for over a year, was nice to see it safely there. I loved the old rubbish heap beside it here, and collected a couple of old beer bottles for my next home brew, an old 'spade' CUB bottle and a 'pick-axe' bottle from years ago, made in SA.
Thanks for the history and the cache bwsd

Another great spot to bring us to today. Bogonghazy spotted this one quickly enough. It had finally stopped raining, although now daylight was disappearing fast. Thanks to bwsd. Cheers, Leese
We came to Wedderburn for the 2 events and stayed a couple of nights to make the most of the weekend caching time.
We found your cache Aboriginal Wells on 31/05/2014 10:34 am. This is our find #3749 and find #4 today. The cache is in good shape.
Thanks billywillysillydilly for the cache!

This was found on the way home from the CVGT VI event in Echuca. I was keen to make the most of some dedicated caching time. The weather was perfect and I wasn't troubled by muggles at any of the locations.
This was find 19 of 35 for the day.
I approached this park from the wrong side, so mucked around for ages on dirt tracks rather than chasing caches. Found a few though.
Thanks billywillysillydilly for placing this cache and bringing me here.

Mr Morris was out scouting the area for a camping spot with one of the expats and visited your cache. The expat tells us there used to be a spit roast once a month behind the sign (maybe they were hiding from their parents. I dunno) TFTC
Sorry billywillysillydilly for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks billywillysillydilly for placing this cache.
I was here many years ago and fancy the wells were in the granite further up Mt Kooyoora - the guy from Camp Kooyoora took me there. Nice to get some Koori history; thanks ftc.
Kaneira could possibly be correct. If anybody finds wells further up the Mount, please send me co-ordinates and I will be happy to place a cache there.
After a search around the sign "Aboriginal Wells", I found no distinctive wells, so believed beside this creek may have been them.
There is a cache hidden at "One Tree Hill", near Bendigo, which is named "Watering Hole", this is hidden near a flat piece of granite that has had a circle with a diameter of about 20cm chiselled out. This hole would gather water after it rained, The hole would be covered with a rock. The rock protected the water from animals. Aboriginals used to use this water as a resource whilst they were walking from one area to the other.

Nice hide.
Found with Port63 while camping nearby for the weekend.
As we are new to Geocaching, we are really enjoying the thrill of finding such hides as yours. Thanks alot for the enjoyment.
Left cockatoo feather.

A big weekend away up north west was had which took in just over 100 caches, including 4 First to Finds, about 1000 days towards the Unloved Cache Challenge (GC3KWWQ) and some really fun adventures both solo and with new and old friends. Topped off with a great well attended event cache at Wedderburn.. (with yummy food too) Thanks to all the various cache owners along the way and my apologies upfront for the copy / paste style logging of those 100 odd caches.. Some of the Caches hadn't been found for between 6months and 18months which added greatly to my 15 years required for GC3KWWQ.. Thanks..
Many of the caches were a blur and thus there isn't too much I can add from an individual cache log point of view, my apologies to the cache owners who each have put a lot of effort into their respective hides..
However these bunch of caches didn't fit into the blur category.. I'd sourced these out as prime unloved suspects, I love getting out for walk, dont get me wrong, I also love drivebys, however.. really.. this is what caching is all about, at least its how I explain caching to muggles.. "Its about finding a spot you love, then placing a cache to share the location with others".. Once back at my car from the Mt. Kooyora jaunt I put my Jet Boil to work and enjoyed a nice hot cuppa before continuing onto here.. Another good cache, and history as well.. Thanks Billy

We would never have realised what this site was, without your explanation. Many thanks Bill for the history lesson. Signed the log and left an old blokes pathtag.
Found by Roma and Max.
Another interesting historical site well worth a visit.
However without the road sign and your description it would appear to be just water erosion to the unfamiliar eye!
We left our mark in the log and thank you Bill for this geo experience.
Regards,
from Romax.
