Not willing to tromp through the shrubbery for this one so abandoned the search. Nice beach though.
After parking the car, heard distant base. Thought it came from the campers down the track. As we wove our way along the track, the base became louder. Then a humongous emu came out of the bush and posed away. The base got louder. Other recent emu encounters resulted in the big bird taking off. Not this one! Big bird hung around darting back and forward across the access path and staying about 10m away from our group. Not looking good and assume its nest was nearby. This resulted in a quick cache grab then exit before the emu decided to scramble us. Great to get an oldie and a close up encounter with half our coat of arms. Thanks Liz and Bruce for keeping the oldie active!
We are on our way to a road trip already 10000kilo made up. So happy to discover these area
Found it while exploring the park. Loving it down here and the rock pool is cool. TFTC
I'm in SA for the leap day Mega, some caching and a restful 5 day holiday. Let's see how that rest goes in the middle of so much new caching grounds!!! Today is day 3 and my bottom of Yorke Peninsula day. Lovely weather in the low 20's, cool and sunny makes for perfect exploring weather. So many old caches, and caches with great appeal to guide me around to see the area.Another great January 2002 cache, another top spot to visit while finding it!
Nice little beach which is filled with people heading to the rock pool. Made the find reasonably quickly and cache is in good condition. Tftc
Had some lunch then headed for the short walk to this cache. Had to wait for some muggles to head to the beach and then found the cache before the next lot turned up. tftc#7605
Thanks for the cache! Mid January is clearly Horse Fly time here. Bring insect repellent!
Thx for the cache here.
GPS had me walking in circles for a few minutes, but then got it.
Watch for the prickles.

Such a beautiful beach nearby. Found with TashiBear on 14/2 on day 2 of our honeymoon. TFTC
Wow- 2002- the cost of park was $8....changed now to $12.50 in 2023!!
We explored the national park and its beautiful scenery on a rather warm day. What an amazing park- we loved it! We did many of the walks and 21 caches in total, with no DNFs. Yay!
We went for a swim here, very refreshing after the day. TFTC

The sand was very hot on the walk there but a lovely area and the cache was found quickly. Found with SquidKid96 on day two of our honeymoon. TFTC
Had a quick look, as we had to be somewhere. Sadly just like the two people before me, I could not find it.
First DNF I have had in awhile.
Nice spot though

Goldy and Geo4Jimmy are staying a couple of nights on the Yorke Peninsula for a "must do" visit to Innes National Park, as well as caches of course!
What a nice part of the world to visit, a real blessing to have in South Australia. Thanks to all cache owners for the tour of the area during our stay here.
Nice to find an older hide out here. All remains well at this cache.

I heard something about a badge level thingy for writing longer logs... so feel to ignore the words from this point onwards.
Thanks for going to the effort to prepare, hide and submit this geocache for me to find, another smiley for my geomap.
Thanks to the cache owners who do regular maintenance checks to ensure other players have an enjoyable experience when out in the field.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in S a saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. Another oldie too! Thanks for the cache
Took some DAPP - that’s Determination And Perseverance Plus due to pesky GPS or pesky satellites - needed extra eyes today! Spectacular destination. Day 8 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Our exploring Innes National Park this week. Took a little bit of searching around to find TFTC
After a day spend exploring the rock pools, swimming and fishing a nice quick find on our way back to the car
Was over at Innes for an Adelaide Canoe Club kayaking weekend, where we paddled Dolphin Beach to Browns Beach one day, and then Dolphin Beach to Pondalowie boat ramp the next day.
As this cache was close to where we were camping, I made the walk up to is and dropped a TB into it.
Awesome rockpools to the headland to the north - enjoyed swimming in them!

Wow! just over 8 years it is since I was here with two of the sons over the NYE break.
Had been caching less than a year and the crowds of muggles still put us off back then
Today we just marched on in pasty the muggle folk and proceeded to search while they all wandered past nearby without a second glance in our direction.
And searched.
And searched...
And searched again...
And eventually, after going around, under, over, through, behind, past, back around, in, back through, and thoroughly poking the bushes at our GZ as confirmed by two GPSrs and a bonus phone app... we found the cache right behind my bum!!! In another bl%$#y bush ! ! !
the tiniest of cache creeps before us made for quite the effort here.
But we were determined to make good on this 8yo dnf and so we did
Thank you for the eventual smiley from another historically aged cache hide location Liz and Bruce
Always a pleasure finding a L&B cache
Found on a fun day trip birthday caching with Purrfect Di , Sebastbat , and Jack.
What do you do when you can't have a few days off caching... cram it into one!!!
Only found a handful, but they were awesome views, fun drives, refreshing walks,
redeeming some dnfs and generally have a great day enjoying the sunshine and caching
---
it's not over yet!
- - cache at a social distance wherever you can - -
Stay away from nasty bugs ( except travel bugs of course )
- avoid people as much as you can [:o)]
- get out and pop some caches in our regional areas !
This weekend, I headed to the Yorke Peninsula. The goal was to visit Innes National Park for the Saturday to find a few of the oldie geocaches, but also to enjoy a different vicinity for geocaching. I used Edithburgh to base myself for the weekend's activities. On the drive to/from Edithburgh, I visited Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Wool Bay, and Coobowie, and also visited as far south as Sultana Point and Troubridge Point.
Today, after participating in Edithburgh parkrun, I met gridge98 at Marion Bay, and we travelled through Innes National Park. We drove up to Browns Beach, and then made our way back visiting and hiking Royston Head, West Cape Lightstation, Ethel Beach, Cape Spencer Lighthouse, and the historic township of Inneston. With a few hours left before the Edithburgh dinner event, we separated and I decided to head north to visit a few Yorke Peninsula oldie geocaches. Following dinner, gridge98 and I walked from Edithburgh to Coobowie find the *Where Ancestors Walked By the Sea* series.
This geocache was on my target/bucket list given its age: A nice oldie 01/2002 hidden cache.
After visiting Browns Beach, we then stopped off at this beach along the way. A short walk to the top of the stairs to admire the view, before then walking to GZ, and we then made the quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. It appeared to be a great beach that was quite popular today! Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

So many people out here today. We parked up and made the walk up and over to this cache. Nice views here. Davidwazza found the cache nicely hidden
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

Came back for a second look before heading back to camp. Perseverance paid off. Yesss. Go me!!!!!
If someone is heading out to this cache could they please take along a new container. With thanks Liz and Bruce
A weekend away to celebrate the easing of restrictions, exploring some of the national park today we decided to drive to the end and explore our way back and pick up the odd cache or two. Quite a few muggles around with the same idea so we strolled along the beach and made the easy find on the way back to the geomobile, the container will need replacing soon we left it upside down to keep moisture out of the cracked top

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Now camped at Foul Bay - near the boat ramp, we headed off into Innes National Park for a drive. Last time we were here, we had our wonderful border collie with us, so we could not get there. Today was the day.
Found under bush. But which one. Thanks Liz and Bruce for an oldie.

After a short splash around at the beach, I stopped here to search. Lots of people around but GZ is off the main path so I searched and logged without raising suspicion.
Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce.

Took us a bit but we got there in the end as the sun was setting! Neat little unit, still in goood nick TFTC!
Nice one. Took a stroll to check out the nearby beach and grabbed this on our way back. Container in great condition. Left a TB. TFTC!
After a week on the power trails with only diversions here and there to pick up other caches we are treating ourselves to a day in the Innes National Park.
A chance to maybe see some wonderful scenery and the native flora and fauna and even a lighthouse or two.
This one took us way too long to find, but we got there in the end! Decent sized cache in good condition.

Team SWAGJJ is visiting the Yorke Peninsula this week to complete the geo art and collect traditionals, multis and other types along the way. Seeing some amazing country side and views as well. Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches.
Yorke Peninsula Day 3: A small break for power trails (after a quick 60 caches from the fishing line...). Then we collected caches around the Yorketown and Edithburgh area and in the Innes National Park. Some spectacular scenery to take in, strong winds to battle on top of cliffs, and another exhausting day. Signed as SWAG-JJ. TFTC!

Hi, this cache was placed in 2002 so I would hate to see it get archived. It may still be there but if the next geocacher searching cannot find it please replace. With thanks and kind regards Liz and Bruce.
Looks like this one might need replacing. If the next geocacher visiting is able to it would be greatly appreciated. With thanks and kind regards Liz and Bruce
Oh noooooooooo, I have just seen who the COs are, sorry guys I would have replaced it for you had I known.
Sadly we did not find this cache
Today Gary and I spent some more time in Innes National Park and then we took our time travelling to Moonta. After a long day of walking we certainly enjoyed a delicious dinner at our hotel near the jetty in Moonta and an early night.
Some of the cache hides were easy, others were more challenging, but overall we enjoyed yet another wonderful day with fantastic weather.

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^]
We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

Hmmm a DNF for this one I'm afraid. Evidence for stomping in the bushes but I couldn't see anything in the clear. Perhaps too well concealed for me. Off the the beach!
Found on a long weekend away at the bottom end.
A beautiful beach, made even more memorable for the whale surfacing just off shore!
Pretty special - thanks Liz and Bruce!

Found on a great weekend away. Made really special by seeing a whale surfacing not far offshore. Thank you for the cache.
