Our second DNF for this cache… Had prime opportunity too as it was raining and therefore muggle disruption was almost nil, but sadly we were unable to find after a decent attempt. I'll log a "OGU". (Officially gave up!)
Checked on this one today, couldn't find it, so have replaced with a new container
Had a look but couldn't get the GPSr to pinpoint a spot - well, that is, it pinpointed one and then another etc...There were quite a few people around as well, so I felt a bit conspicuous. Maybe I'll come back with Mr Squalid sometime....Thanks EC.
Actually found on Election day after voting at the school next door.
Beware the muggle from the café... she looked worried and then followed us back to the car park but lost the trail as we got back in the car.

After much playing around. Finally found it. Out with jeremy1991 but made them find it for themselves. Their first find. Well done. Thanks Chief. SL
My 1st find. Thanks to N0Worries (dad) for some hints as he got to it b4 me as i was off reminiscing in the playground as it was my hang out as a kid
Well, it took a lifeline from the CO, but I finally got the little fella. Had looked in this spot many times, I just hadn't dug deep enough. Thanks!
Drove over here today to check on this cache only to find a big fence blocking off GZ. So I still don't know if the cache is in place or not. Will try again another day.
We are not looking for it anymore ... Given up ... We were really convinced we would find it today !!!!!but not to be
Second time around .. Still can't find it and yes the GPS does stuff up bw buildings ... Not going to give up ... Keep coming each week whenever we go to the library ... Hopefully ..,,
Been there every Tuesday for the past 3 weeks ...still haven't found it ...hopefully this Tuesday after school ...
Looked and looked ..couldn't find it and our iPhone ran out of charge ...will have to go back
Fairly busy with Muggles today, we had to seize our opportunity between groups of families. Cache container a little difficult to open, hope we haven't made it worse for the next cacher. TFTC
Unfortunately the wasps freaked us out a bit so we decided to bail on this one.
Find #15, Came back for the 4th Time!!! Took wayyy to long. Gps Stuffes up between the buildings.
Find number eight.
Having brought the geokids to the excellent playground here once or twice in pre-cache days, it was nice to get reacquainted with the place.
As it turned out, despite various notes / warnings that GPS might be off at GZ, the coords put us within a metre of the hide on first approach (though we didn't find it right away at the time). Subsequently however both direction and distance readings started to go all over the place, so we switched off and quartered the location anyway, only to eventually discover just how close we'd been right at the start.
Spannaworks had the honour of actually locating the container; definitely a little tricksy (in a good way!), then as we signed the log we noticed that some of the wasps mentioned back in January were still in residence.
Replacing the cache in its original position we beat a hasty yet orderly retreat, just to be on the safe side, though the little critters didn't seem particularly aggressive or interested in us.
TFTC!

Sorry for the late log - hadn't set up an account at the time yet!
Nice hide. TFTC

Stopped in during my afternoon bike ride on a miserable day of cold squalls. An evil little hide, but the clue helped. Just as I was signing the log, a woman who worked nearby walked right into me. I had no choice but to tell her what I was doing (but didn't tell her where the hide actually was). Another convert, I hope. T4TC EB!
#2 of 20 in a day of "putting CJ's body through a grinder". Mercifully, the place was relatively empty aside from a family or two at the playground. I ducked into a nearby convenience and they must have disappeared while I was inside. The cache was child's play (if you'll pardon the pun) afterwards, although it would have been even easier if I'd have looked in the obvious spot first. Cheers!
Came here late at night, the playground is awesome! I felt like a pirate or a knight running around the fort! Thanks for bringing me to a very cool location
Had a quick look until some guy from the council parked too close and gave me a dirty look, so I bailed out.
I have driven past this one so many times it is almost embarrassing that it has taken me nearly 12 months from when I started caching to grab it. But today was the day and after a bit of team work (or team brain work) we worked it out and found the cache. Thanks.
After failing at this one last time I tried and seeing it had come back, I ventured out with kmace to have a look. I immediately went to the spot I thought it was going to be last time but no cache. Hmmm, ok time to have a bit of an explore and soon had the cache in hand (though its a key locker and not a mint tin!), thanks to earthbound chief for the replacement, and the cache!
Got this one tonight while out caching with Littlemerpip. This was a cache that I hadn't done but was on his must do list. I searched in all the logical places but forgot to read the hint and so while I established where it wasn't - Littlemerpip came up with the goods but still after a bit of searching. Signed log but didn't swap anything.
Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief.
Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief.
Buildings got in the compasses way but we still found where it was soppused to be. I was sure we were right next to it, but still couldn't see it.
Replaced today with a small magnetic container.

Well this was interesting, wandered up to GZ for the geosense hunt, the GPSr loves buildings as it gets to show lots of numbers and swing its needle all over the place!!!! Anyway, started looking in a methodical way and got to the most likely spot really quickly and couldn't find anything. Read the clue which confirmed (I think) that I was right but even so, had a good look around other parts as well with no sign of a cache. Normally I would say good hide and I'll try again later but I then saw a laminated stash note on the ground in the middle of the "middle" walkway and there was a ziplock bag on the ground near where I thought GZ would be. No sign of anything else though. I will watch and try again though.
This was, the third cache of 33 finds for the day on another big night out with my good mates Trailrunning and Blacklegend, we picked Danozz up in the city later on our run. I had to look around and make sure the coast was clear on this one, thankfully no one around and the cache was soon in hand. My thanks to Earthbound Chief for the cache.
Had a few spare minutes so "abandoned" the kids in the super playground for a pretty quick find. I see what you mean about the GPS not working between the buildings. TFTC.
Out with Trish Fish and Water Monster. Nice cache, the myriad of muggles added to the thrill of the find
Thanks for the find, in the sweltering heat it was nice to take a moment in the shade to sign the log. There were plenty on mums and bubs about today so I made quick work with the spot on hint and moved out of sight. Cheers
AHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh. 2nd time lucky thanks to a hint from a fellow cacher who came to our rescue. (sorry i cant remember your cacher name, but thanks for your email.) It was far to easy to not have seen it the first time. a quick spot geodaughter and the log was signed. TFTC Earthbound Chief.
Wandered up then down to find the hidden cache, with muggles playing in the distance. Thanks Earthbound Chief
Catching up with Cracker Girl for dinner tonight and being such a beautiful afternoon we decided to leave e a little earlier and try and grab a few caches along the way. We remember this park from a previous visit when Little Miss Muggle had a cache hidden here but we don't remember it ever being a school as the fire would have been twelve months prior to our last visit but now we may have an idea why it is called phoenix park. Although there were a few families making use of the equipment here gz was conveniently placed so that we were out of sight and the cache was located after a brief search and our name has been added to the log.
Thanks Earthbound chief for the cache and for the history of the area.
Thanks Earthbound chief for the cache and for the history of the area.
Found this despite the constant flow of Muggle mums and kiddies going back and forth to the playground. A Nanna waiting for someone doesn't look too conspicuous in a place like this. GPS did not settle on one spot, so I used the grey matter instead and soon found the cache.
No luck here today. Plenty of muggles around. Used the clue and thought we had the spot but couldn't put our hand on it. Maybe next time. Had a coffee/coke/cake break at the cafe while we were here.
2nd attempt for this one!! Was raining today so not as many muggles around. It was exactly where I had looked before!
Grabbed this one on the way to 4X4 meeting at nearby Scout hall TFTC Earthbound Chief
no find today. I really thought I was in the right spot... the clue seemed to make sense. But there is only so long you can poke about with kids in the park before Muggle parents think your going to abduct their Muggle children. I'll be back at a more appropriate time.
We came here thinking we should be able to locate the cache fairly easily. I mean really how hard can it be wedged somewhere between two buildings. We were fortunate enough that the GPS seemed to have taken us right to GZ. we looked here and there and surprisingly this became more difficult than we first thought. After some searching and the temptation to pull apart sprinkles and light fittings because we knew it was there somewhere but didn't because the description told us not to. we then had to resort to the hint. Well we got to what we thought meant the 'step' and did what we thought meant 'up' and found some great little places for a cache to be hidden, but not this little cache. We were convinced that it had been muggled so we then resorted to the logs only to notice it was found the day before. In frustration we kept looking but no matter where we looking the 'goods' was nowhere to be found. We will have to come back to this one sometime in the future. We wished we had a friend to contact in times of trouble. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

23/06/12 12:21 Find #2212 . I'm sure I've found (or at least looked for) a cache around here before . Today I was looking in the right spot but after a couple of minutes couldn't spot the cache until a call to the Facit-helpline confirmed that I was not searching in vain [B)]
It was then that I spotted it [:p]

My GPS put me way off from where I ultimately found the cache. I definitely needed the clue, otherwise I would never have found it. Thanks for the cache.
Second attempt. Not many muggles this time which made it easier. Clue is a good one. I am ashamed to say I did unscrew a watering point on my first try. Tragic newbie that I am, I am learning and enjoying this new world.
This was a really easy find for us today as we were out with the CO's. thanks for another easy find today Earthbounds.

I've been working on my GeoCalendar for about 5 months now. It's looking pretty good so when I got to the end of the day without an opportunity for a find I suspected that I would need to invoke a parachute cache. Parachute? Yes, this is a nearby cache to home that I had ignored deliberately so I could use it when I really needed it. This one was also a location that I preferred to visit at night, I spent many a weekend at this park when the girls were younger and know that a day time search could be problematic. Tonight the whole park was deserted, except for a cat! so my search was uninterrupted and surprisingly short, given the many hiding choices!

Thanks Earthbound Chief, a location worthy of a cache and certainly a park recommended to cachers with young kids!

A quick find and sign as the co-ords were pretty good and the hint made sense. A few muggles at the cafe but they ignored me. A cheeky hide, thanks Chief!
Found at 19.50 on an evening caching with Burge. Fifth find for the day and my 300th overall! A relatively easy find at this time of night. TFTC!
Nice quick easy find. Starting to find my groove. Pantherx has hit 300!!! Tftc tnln sl
When I got here we had to play on the fun stuff first.
When we finished we went and looked for the cache.
It was found by my geodad.
Thankyou

The only thing was as soon as we got there they took off before the search begun!!

The scots were here today. The GPS had us really confused until we stepped back and had a fresh look and all was revealed. Fanfastic place for kids. TFTC.
Yep, took some time and some lateral thinking - the coords took me all over the place and in the end I had to down the unit and allow some Geo common sense to prevail - before long the well hidden cache was found.
Thx again EBC

It took me two looks to located this one. My poor GPS didn't cope with the walls well at all. Thanks Earthbound Chief.
We dropped MMelb off at a party and set off for an afternoon of caching with lemmykc's The TRUE Birdies cache being our goal. After finding that one we decided we would just head back towards home grabbing any caches that took our fancy on the way, this being one.
It was starting to get a bit "dusky" by now and so after a bit of a search and looking at the clue and still not finding anything, GMelb went back to the car to get a torch. The GPS had been jumping all over the place as expected but it favoured 2 spots (about 10m apart!!) both of which the clue suited lol Anyway we were going to give up when GMMelb had one last look at a spot he had looked at part of before and volia!

Without my trusted old Oregon, I had some difficulty homing in on GZ. The nuviphone did a better job showing me with the satellite aerial view. Saw a couple of likely areas, but couldn't come up with the goods - most frustrating!
Nice hide, found in the second obvious spot.
The construction had me worried for a moment there but its totally clear.

Total visits to this GZ are now up around 1,500 with 10-11 thousand hours or so spent on site. Actually, I can only attribute 1 visit and 20 minutes to this cache, (and maybe the same for the original in this place) the rest was spent as an inmate of the long defunct Chadstone High School - those were the days!
The school mascot was of course the Phoenix, from which this park takes it's name.
Apart from the assembly hall which still remains, and which I never got to see since it was built after I left, despite selling toffee's for years to pay for the blessed thing, the only remaining remnant of the school is the bus parking bays out the front.
Thanks Earthbound Chief - Lots of memories, and a nice cache as well.

A nice quick find @ 2240 to fulfil my 'cache-a-day' plan. At this time of night the place is deserted (though I did hear a door open and close somewhere - I'm assuming through human intervention) and my GPSr decided to play nice this time, so I was able to home in on the hide really quickly and the log was dutifully signed. Took nothing, but dropped off 'Frodo's Ring of Destiny' TB to help the next finder stay hidden in their next Muggle-saturated GZ. Thanks for the cache Earthbound Chief - och aye!
Had to sit and wait a while for this one as there was a muggle family playing nearby. Once they left it was a nice quick grab right where it should have been.
Found @ 1:25am, find # 1230.
Out on a bit of a night caching run I ended up being close to this one and because it is the only Earthbound cache that I have not done (I think) I thought that I should give it ago.
I arrived at the GZ area and saw alot of fencing, hoping that it wasn't in any of that area, jumped out of the car and started walking between the buildings,
next minute the GPSr had changed and I had gone too far, headed back the way I had just come and zeroed in on it and made the find.
Thanks to Earthbound Chief for this cache.

I wasn't sure how this one would pan out when I noticed it near the library, but after a late work day and a DNF I thought it might be worth a try. I pulled into the carpark and my heart sank - cars everywhere and some fenced off areas. But luckily I pushed on and after trouble with GPS reception found the cache quite easily and without any muggle worries at all Dropped off a geocoin TFTC
Having done a Chief Wiggum at the nearby restaurant with seemingly the same nationality as this cache, s and I proceeded here. Again today, both our GPSrs were pointing to one particular spot but it wasn't until I walked away that mine decided to point to a different location, albeit briefly, and we were soon signing the log at 16:00.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Earthbound Chief.

Number 6 of 15 caches found today on a most enjoyable cycling expedition with EuDes. After being suitably refreshed at a nearby Scottish restaurant we cycled here and managed to search whilst avoiding the mini-muggles. EuDes came up with the goods and after some quick logging we were once more on our way. Our thanks to Earthbound Chief.
Found @ 16:00 while out riding today. Didn't take too long to find once I got to GZ. TFTC TNLNSL

I think I've actually done two caches near here in the distant past. This one was a quick find after we'd pedaled off the rail trail to grab it.
Thanks Earthbound Chief.

We have been to this area before for a cache (maybe a Wooden Work from the playground?). A slight detour off our Rail Ride this morning.

I have been eyeing off this cache for a while now and I have been to Chaddy a few times since publication, however not once have I been in a position to grab it until today. I was finding the new one that popped up last night near by and today I had just enough time to find it. I picked up the nearby munzee first and then we began looking. When I was hiding my first caches, I failed to Average my waypoints and I got feedback from the owner on this. The coords were a bit out which made all of the difference because it took us a little while to find the cache. Nice hide but not what I was expecting. Thanks for another one Chief Dropped off TB.

Found at about 10 pm, would NOT recommend this one to other nightcachers! I was not comfortable walking around public buildings at night, felt like a burglar..... Maybe thats' only me as there is no mention of it in previous logs. As usual, the 2 listed TBs were not found in container or logged. Thanks EB for the cache. TNLNSL
