A few laps around GZ before the container was found. A nicely maintained area. Thanks for bringing us here. So nice to get the rewards for some one elses research. TFTC
Found After a day trip to Deni, we decided to take a few back roads home.Lots of short stops for the geo hound.Cache found, log signed
Taking the road less travelled with catnap777, we saw there was another old Blacklegend cache out this way. We pulled up at the rather freshly revamped memorial and soon found the original cache and log before adding our own names to it. cat' didn't realise till much later why the place seemed familiar. A fresh coat of paint had fooled her into forgetting she had already logged this cache years ago. TFTC Blacklegend. [^]
We were in Blightey for the netball/football today and spotted this cache which was only a slight detour away. The grandkids wanted to know where the school was now and we had to explain about the demise of so many small schools throughout Victoria. I went to one of these small schools and was like a fish out of water when my primary school closed and I had to go to a much bigger school, which was a long bus ride away. Thanks for highlighting this spot and I enjoyed reading the role call of teachers and pupils. I was going to drop a TB but it wouldn't fit in the container. It will have to travel with me a bit further.
Heading toward Adelaide for the Leap Year Mega to celebrate my first 4 years caching with commenced on a Leap Day event.Had to come into town to find a cache in this LGA, our earlier attempt wasn't working for us.
Muggle65 and l are on our way to the Leap Year Mega in Adelaide. Such a long drive but thankfully we have a few cache stops. Thank you for the break and the fun
Thankful when Mr Simber said its in there when doing a lap. Quicker than expected. Phew! Got the LGA after an unsuccessful effort in Deni.
#2604A quick park and find during my road trip back to Sydney after finishing work in Albury broadcasting the BBL.I little blood was drawn during this one..TFTC
I actively avoid this type of hide but we need this LGA so gingerly retrieved the cache. Thanks for the cache
Today we headed south with the geovan in tow we stopped to find your cachee along the way. We had to widen our search to make the find, signed log and returned as found. This fulfills a gap in out LGA map.
A day out to Echuca and return, but going through nsw on the way up and Victoria on the way back.
Collected some good lgas for a challenge cache as well.
Tftc.
Not many for the day but some brilliant caches.

Lockdowns, lock outs etc had stopped as from getting to Millicent a few times and also On Ya Bike Series. Finally things fell into place and B@W, Crash, PPE and Tardis 0061 (later to sing as BCPT for our initials or Big Cycling Power Trail amongst other things)were on a week long road trip into SA. Various select caches and locations were targeted on the way over and back for LGA's and other stats.
A quick find here and we completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

An interesting site, worth the detour to. Thanks for placing the cache Blacklegend, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.
Day 4 of our Wangaratta adventure: going solo now with the group heading separate ways after finishing up the old coach trail yesterday, today was the day to venture home although it was the very long way home of course.
What a journey out this way. We had to destroy the ants home here as all that was visible of the cache was the lid. We have placed it back away from the ants home so they won't get disturbed again. Should stay safe now and the ants can rebuild with no disturbances.
Thanks for the hide Blacklegend

West New South Wales trip 2020. Day 9. I was joined by MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 for a trip planned to go from Goulburn to Forbes, Nyngen, Cobar, Broken Hill, Wentworth and Balranald. Distance wise today was short, but we spent the day in South NSW between Deniliquin and Finley via Moama.

Yay!!! A New County!!! Have had my eye on this one for awhile. Gliss! and I thought we were would make it out here a few days ago but car trouble meant we missed our moment. So satisfying to be out here today. Thanks for bringing us to such a unique piece of history. Thanks for the cache!
Learning about our past and meeting my partner, is what I love most about geocaching. Tftc Blacklegend which was found in good condition
As a teacher, I had to make the detour to this one while on the way to Deniliquin. I took photos to show my year 5 class when we start term 3. TFTC
Only fourteen years? That was indeed a short-lived primary school. In fact it was so short lived that I can't even find a reference to it on the Internet! I guess the "motoring" age was coming into full swing so local kids would have been sent to either Deni or Toke for their education, and maybe even by bus, so small local schools became redundant. Still, just fourteen years makes you question the education departments planning ability.

A long detour along our travels for a cache in this county. Found the cache quite well, school has long gone it seemed.
Trip log... GreyHams log says it best, in all its glorious detail... so it really is, 'What he said!'
With GreyHams we set out for another chapter of our caching challenge... To find all the counties in NSW. We flew into Adelaide early Friday morning with a return plane from Melbourne Monday night. Taking advantage of some super cheap car hire driving one way from Adelaide to Melbourne. Of course, as a four day road trip it leads into collecting as many counties as was possible as we pass through SA and Victoria as well, with a few side trips for those that were close enough.
The counties a high priority but many caches of interest, the oldies are always great, about 16 2001 caches found plus many others just as old. Web Cams, virtuals, great DT which would see us complete our fifth loop of the DT grid, large caches and lots of regular sizes too. The trip list also included a cache type of each we were missing for each state as well.
Simply, if we stopped for a cache that had made it onto the list, it was not just any random cache, it was selected for a quality of some type we were seeking.
One of the harder things about caching after flying somewhere is that all the TOTT are left behind...usually! So it just had to be done and we took an esky with us on the plane for all those fabulous cold drinks along the way.
The thing I love the most is that we also took a ladder with us on the plane too!
We had targeted the 'on your bike' wherigo series, so many puzzles, so many hours of them so the ladder was important if we wanted to find all the high DT, up the tree caches... which we did! Later in Ballarat we went 'above and beyond' with the ladder once again. A truly essential item to have, we may now need to invest in that inflatable Kayak for future adventures too!
Perhaps it must be said that our route was the least direct way we could have traveled via the Hay Plains and Griffith, but covered a lot of road, counties and locations leading to yet another great trip. Although a number of park and grabs, made closer by our reliable and tough SUV, we also managed a lot of walks, hills, bush, and just a great variety as we explored the different areas.
We crossed the Murray river many times, a lovely healthy looking river system. After our recent trip from Adelaide to Sydney, via Broken Hill and Bourke the dry rivers out there are a very sad sight compared with the Murray.
With so much achieved that we had set out for it was a very successful trip but also an enjoyable one with many memories made and a new batch of stories too! Thanks to all the CO's for there caches that lead us in our travels.

Aquilus1 and myself are on a mission.... to collect all of the counties in NSW! but how to get to those 'hard to reach' ones from where we are in Canberra? It would be an awfully long round trip. The answer was supplied in the super cheap car rental deals available if you drive one-way from Adelaide to either Sydney or Melbourne... I guess too many cars do it the other way and the cars need to get back somehow. Flying to ADL on points meant fuel was by far the biggest transport cost we paid for.
This trip is actually trip number two.... to drive from ADL to MEL, via Hay & Griffith! Yeah, thats logical! It was fun explaining where we were going to people, we got a lot of strange looks. The first trip was ADL to SYD, via Bourke. The bonus of course is we have also cleaned up a lot of SA & VIC counties as well.
OK, so primary goal is counties but we of course had 5 or 6 goals. Oldies was definitely a priority, I think we picked up 16 hides from 2001 on the trip along with lots of 2002-2006's. D/T of course is never overlooked and we did well there, I think we will almost complete our fifth loop from this trip. Webcams, Virtuals and Wherigo's were all targetted and finally getting all cache types in each state.
Day 1 was us arriving in ADL at sparrows, with a ladder and esky that we checked in and driving as far as Barmera. We cleaned up the 'On Your Bike' series where the ladder really fulfilled its purpose (I never want to see another online jigsaw again!) and even stopped to grab the LBH on the way out.... after 9:30pm, and after I attacked the dirt road with my body and left a lot of skin on it. Note to self: dont lunge at dirt roads! Luckily the hotel in town was open and we obtained fine lodgings. The floor creaked when I looked at it, or breathed, or changed my mind, but the bed was the finest.
Day 2 was driving to Hay, apparently on their biggest day of the year! No motel had rooms but luckily the new hotel that was supposed to open next week was forced into opening on the very day we arrived.... I like fresh sheets but how about a bed that has never been slept in! The crossed the Murray about 5 times and it was always impressive. We saw the country side change hugely from Rivers, Mallee and the Hay plain.
Day 3 was going from Hay, around Griffith and actually turning south towards Melbourne.... it felt like a long way! We cleaned up a bunch of the counties, in fact all of them, west of and including Naranderra. My map on Project-GC is going to look so green! We got as far as the outskirts of Bendigo, stopping at the first Motel we saw.... it was better than it looked!
Day 4 was getting to the airport, which we did with heaps of time to spare. Checkin closed a huge 18 minutes after our arrival. Damn, we could have grabbed another cache in that time. Ladder back in its box and checked in. I love the fact we took our own ladder!
Now safely back at home I am already suffering from caffeine withdrawal, but thats the price you pay for living on Coke for 4 days.
Sorry for the long generic log, but it was a fun trip and I wanted to share.

Out and about in Tocumwal and surrounds to find some stolen jewels missing from the Mystery at the Museum. This one was a bit difficult to extract from its hiding place. We used a stick to scrape away the soil or whatever that had built up around the container. Not a lot of the school left. Normally you see a square of trees or something. Not here.

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.
I’m currently working on a Project-GC challenge to get the average word count on my logs over 200 words.
So please ignore the rest of this log as it is just nonsense and song lyrics.
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
20th find of the day.And the last find.

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.
I’m currently working on a Project-GC challenge to get the average word count on my logs over 200 words.
So please ignore the rest of this log as it is just nonsense and song lyrics.
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
Very quick find on a surprisingly busy road - unlike other school sites a relative recent one (influx with the initial irrigation district?)
Compared to the previous cache all good here - TFTC

Great find and history lesson for the kids as their Pa attended school here for 6 months before it closed and the bus run started. He then attended Finley Primary

Made the bit of a detour to pick this one up as I was travelling past on my way homeward.
Still amazes me how many school sites are marked, for no other reason it was a school in the past. Thought there might have been a bit of an info board or something to look at, but just the sign for the school.
Nice little hide. Cache in good condition and still has original log with plenty room left.
TNLN , TFTC , Cheers.

On a three day tour in Nth Vic and Riverina for work, I took the opportunity to grab a few caches to stretch my legs or late in the day finds in an area I am familiar with pre caching.
Wow another old school cache, pulled up and quickly found the cache on a glorious afternoon with the sun setting.
Thanks for the cache!!!

Ostara74 and I were heading home after a great long weekend with a bunch of awesome friends at the 2014 Deni Ute Muster. This was Ostara74's first ute muster - and bit of an Australian cultural shock experience for her! However, we all had a lot of fun and came away relatively unscathed. We decided to take the more scenic route home and find some caches along the way. We also discovered some fantastic local produce during the trip which was a wonderful bonus. This was cache find number 1 of 7 for the day. Thanks for the cache, Blacklegend.
Found together with Pathfinder24 on a sunny day.
On our way back home from Deni, after a great time at the Ute Muster, we made a few stops for sightseeing and off course caching. The cache was quickly located and we got the log signed before we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache Blacklegend!

Really sad to see these old school sites where once was a really great education given locally. No ned for lengthy bus trips. TFTC Blacklegend
A quick as there was only a handful of places to hide a cache. An interesting area miles away from anything. TNLN SL TFTC
Found on way home after big little event @ Nelson. Grabbed this one on a detour from main rd. TFTC
I've been past here plenty of times but never knew that there was a school here in the past.
