I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi lamborghinireventon
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards
TheCoddiwompler

This is the time of year to escape from Gisborne while all the R&V revellers enjoy themselves. Decided to head up round the coast. No joy finding this one.
Not found for over a year with multiple DNF. No response from previously suggested maintenance. Maybe time to archive.
We leave Whakatane in the morning towards the East Coast (Lottin Point) and we will take the time to make a few stops.

A quick find then went down further to have a look at the beach.

Found out in open..covered it while talking to some fishermen...Kahawai running so fishing trip just a little longer than my find.
I was about to log a DNF, with a comment berating those who use scenic points as rubbish dumps. Then I realised that my GPS had been leading me up the wrong tree. So I can log a smiley but my comment about the rubbish remains! Log very wet and only a couple of spaces left.
Today we made a trip from Rotorua to Hicks Bay, thereby visiting many new sightseeing locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was between bad in the morning and very good in the afternoon, colder in the morning but it got warmer in the afternoon. Funny clouds were our compagnions the whole trip.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to lamborghinireventon for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Motu Mouth (Bay of Plenty). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

The Seagnoid already has this one well in hand by the time I arrive on the scene. Cheers.
Day 6 - Wednesday - Te Araroa to Tauranga. Another day in the sun - so lets go!
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Tauranga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

I get to the cache and think - this is ready for a get the cache out of the pipe kind of cache. Just two nails and a way to attach it to a tree. Had the cache out and was signing just as Taybeedragon arrived. Now, as I read the cache page - Oh - it **is** a get the cache out of the pipe kind of cache. Except that the pipe is lying on the ground. Maybe a bit of cache maintenance is in order.

Day 6 of my Mega trip: East Cape to Tauranga. Two weeks of travel with Taybeedragon, from Blenheim to the 2018 mega event, then on to my mum's eightieth birthday in Rotorua via the East Cape and Tauranga and the hole in the ground that is Waihi. Dropped the dragon off in Wellington while I continued on to Motueka for more family time before at last arriving home. We may have only found 230 caches over that 3000 km, but I qualified for 4 badge upgrades, hit the 10,000 cache mark, and even have a missing month ticked off! Throughout most of the trip we targeted special caches - earth caches, virtuals, wherigos, etc, although there were a lot of traditionals too. On the cache maintenance side about eight caches were replaced, and many more logs were added to or replaced. Many thanks to everyone who made this an awesome trip.

A good lil find on our way home from getting a kai down the coast. The last person didn’t hide very well so was a quick find. Was a Saturday too and there is no fishing at The Motu due to the drownings in 1900 so no walk down to the mouth, plus Bratz were too tired from being in the water in Te Kaha. TFTGC
Time for a mini Road trip with some very specific caches in mind as we, kyb3r and myself try to cover the miles and collect the targeted few caches we wanted.
Setting off after work (6.15pm) and fighting the Easter traffic chaos we headed from a quick trip around the East Cape with no planned caching prior to the Mighty Motou.
Trip Stats were: 30 hours (Door to Door), 2 Hours Sleep, 51 caches located, 3DNF's and 1200 kms Driven mostly along roads not traveled previously.
A big thank you to all the cache owners whom through their collective work made this trip possible and to the various fuel companies for whose profits I sometimes feel the Geocaching community are propping up. Some great sights were seen and a few short walks were enjoyed by he both of us.
This was out first cache of the trip as we started heading up the coast. From whence we stopped the cache was soon in hand and returned to its spot.
Thanks for bringing us here today, Thanks for the cache

1:52:00 PM. A sad bit of history. No wonder it was quiet here today being Saturday. Found the cache and log signed in damp conditions. Thanks lamborghinireventon for the cache.
On our way from Opotiki to Gisborne we stopped here. We read the sad notice about the drownings and wondered about the story. We found the little path to the beach and also found the cache. Thanks.
quick stop driving up the coast. very hot in opotiki and then an impressive Thunderstorm and rain has cooled things off nicely. bit damp on the track but not far to walk. nice idea for the cache. easy retrieved as now lying on the ground. tftc
I actually gave up looking for this and walked back to the car. My husband gave me a tip from reading past logs so back I went. Found it - not where and what I was looking for but glad to get the find. Thank you.
Found whilst on our month long road trip of the North Island from the UK. Stopped for this on our way towards the East Coast. TFTC.
I know that type of cache, so I came prepared. Unfortunately the pipe isn't attached anymore, so too easy... TFTC!
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have been planning a distance cache run along the East Coast for a few weeks. Finally, the time has arrived to put our plan into action...
This one wasn't required for our distance logs, but was one we needed to visit. The outlook down the coastline was quite stunning in the early morning light. A quick find, as the cache was lying out in the open. We did what we could to rehide this better. TFTC.

A half year ago we - McMuffin, Flitzpiepe, LE Surfy and I - started with the concrete plans for our holidays in New Zealand . The flights and the campervan were booked, the hotels in Auckland and Christchurch were selected and the route was planned . On 16.2.2017 we started our journey and arrived on 18.2.2017 in Auckland, a little bit tired, but very excited. The baggage was given in the hotel and we already went on sightseeing and seeking caches. Of course, we visited at the harbor, walked through the streets and had a look over Auckland from the top of the Skytower.
On 19.2.2017 started our campervan adventure . First we drove to Coromandel Peninsula. I like the Driving Creek Railway, the New Chum Beach and the Cathedral Cove very much.
Then we drove criss-cross the North Island. At first we visited Hobbiton, we saw the glowworm caves and stopped at the imposing Mount Taranaki .
The route took us back to the Tongariro National Park, to Lake Taupo and to Rotorua. The hot springs and geysers are really impressive. We also stopped at the Huka Falls. It was great .
Of course we found some nice caches, also this one.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings, Iliona

After i had spent the night in Te Kaha, i was going direction Auckland, since my holiday was nearing it's end and i have to go back home to Germany. On my way there this was the first cache i made a stop for today. Finding was not that hard and now my name is in this caches log too.
My gratitude to the owner for hiding and maintaining this small treasure

On a road trip around the East Cape and had stayed the night in Whakatane and we were now heading for Te Araroa
A quick and easy park and grab. Mrs NZT was very disappointed at the amount of rubbish around and had her own little CITO event at the same time quickly filling a plastic bag we had in the car with litter.....

On our way home to Tauranga today after spending the weekend at Maraehako camping ground. Searched a couple of spots before locating the cache. It is not as it used to be but remains well hidden and away from casual eyes. Everything nice and dry thanks to a previous cacher. TFTC
So enjoying our drive.... and a good cache.
A family was coming up with a heavy chilly bin of fish.
Cache is in place but unattached.
Log was soggy so we returned to the van, dried out the container, replaced the log sheet & plastic bag. We do that for well designed caches that need maintenance.
Cheers! Old log sheet is sodden pulp. Want it?

After 10 wonderful days in Tauranga and Mt Maunganui, it is time to head eastwards as our upper North Island mega trip is drawing to an end. Gisborne and the East Cape are the last "must see" places on our to do list, but as it's a long drive, we are spending the night in Waihau Bay en route.
Cache was an easy find and retrieve as I don't think it's working the way it should. Wet log book too. TFTC.

#11953. The section of road leading up to the Motu River is probably the trickiest on SH35, and it was good to have a break soon after completing that section. TFTC.
Thanks for the cache. I found it on 25/02/16 at 1:00 PM. Found after a short search. Cache no longer attached to anything and log is wet. CO needs to revisit and sort out when convenient.
We found this large cache lying on the ground. After we logged we put it back into the place where we thought it should be

Heading down to the East Cape for a day trip with CB with the aim to find the Geocaches along the coast and to see some new sights as well. We picked a fantastic day for the trip, and had a great time, though it was a fairly long day. All up it took us about 10 hours return from Ohiwa, and we travelled around 400kms. The new sights we did see were amazing, and I'm looking forward to a return visit even if it's not to find some Geocaches.
No trouble finding this cache, though I had to be careful where I stepped as someone had left a rather nasty log nearby. I've seen these types of caches before and they are always a bit of fun, unfortunately it isn't secured in place anymore so no tool is needed to remove the log. This one might need a bit of TLC.

We stopped at this one with no pre-planning so had no tools for extraction. We were a bit worried when we read the description. Mr beconaze found it quite quickly on the ground and the cache had popped out. We put it back in its home and tucked it away out of sight but it may need to be re-attached to the tree - sorry we didn't have any tools on us to do this ourselves
Found it on a trip to the eastcape with handraweil.

A long weekend for Canterbury; I came this way specifically to find & log the 2 Eastern-most caches in the North Island - for a Challenge cache GC4AX3T.
I was able to make a more leisurely return trip and stopped here. What a sad tale of the loss of 2 adults & 16 children in 1900 while trying to cross the river mouth. The river seemed quite innocuous today, especially at low tide.
Great cache; disappointing to see the amount of rubbish that has been tipped over the bank at the entrance to the walkway.
Thanks for this cache C.O. and for highlighting this spot.

On our way to Gisborne for a weekend convention so naturally we took some extra time to get there and go Geocaching on the way. Decided we would go around the East Cape and clean up what we could on the way.
This one was next on our hit list. Didn't have any trouble finding it and didn't need any extra tools although we had come prepared. Track doesn't look like it has been used much lately.
Thanks lamborghinireventon. Another smile on the road round the cape.

Almost dark and it had just been raining so almost drove by but couldn't resist! As others have noted the pipe is no longer attached which defeats the intended purpose of the field puzzle. A great idea though.
