Crikey !! It took me a wander around half the suburb to find the way to GZ Red Face
But once in there I found a couple of good spots to look for a cache in this hidden away bit of parkland Smile

Nup !! Like those who have gone before me ... a big fat DNF Sad

Cache is certainly not in the BIG tree by the fence Smile

Couldn't Find it. Got to location to find area taped off (don't know why it looked fine) and hunted for the cache. Got closer and decided to take a look at the logs only to see people couldn't find it Sad Checked Attributes and found "Needs Maintenance" Better check everything before hand next time. Area where cache looked like it should have been was a mess. Will go find it later tho.

Even at this time of the year it was possible to appreciate the garden areas. I would imagine this to be a splendour of colour in the spring.
A few folks around on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Cache find was straightforward, once we got ourselves in the right area of the territory.
Geocache in order. Log signed; safely re-hidden, just as found.

With a caching catch up event on in Nelson this afternoon I was invited along to join Capperz and The Seagnoid on a day's caching in the Nelson area. For once my other weekend plans didn't clash and I was able to tag along and get a few caches on the books. It's always nice to try out a new area and see the variety of different hides along the way.
Beautiful Park and a very good spot for the cache, tucked away up in the corner. This one gets a favourite point for the location, and size of container

Today is a caching event in Nelson day. So today must also be a caching mission to Nelson day too!
Setting off early from our current homes at Woodbourne the Seagnoid and G H 6 7 1 0 were met at the breakfast hall for a quick feed prior to setting off 'over the hill'.
Meeting at 0630 and returning around 8 in the evening it was a big day all round for all concerned (is there any other way to have a Geocaching day, than big?)
This was one of the caches we did whilst carrying out a nice big loop walk in the beautiful hot sunshine on the Summers day. It was a quick and easy find and the well hidden cache was appreciated.
It took us a while to find this cache, searched the wrong hint item for too long before a sudden a-ha moment and the find was made

[green] Capperz, GH6710 and I are in Nelson for an event and to do a little caching on the side. While waiting for the event start time we worked this little power trail. Brilliant summer's day - got a little concerned that I had left the sunscreen and bandanna in the car, but it was okay, I didn't get burnt.
I love this place! Beautiful gardens, wonderful day, people all over the place taking some time out to enjoy life, it's great! Despite the coords being a little out, which had us searching in the wrong area for quite a while, and then GH searching the right place and still totally missing the cache, this gets a favourite from me Big Grin.

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 705

TFTC!! Smile

#7876. Today's lunchtime outing was primarily for street walking, however I realised I was close to a cache Troodles had found while streaking, so stopped by to try to find it. I didn't have a pen, but luckily there was one in the cache. Good spot for a cache. Hadn't been to this quiet corner before. TFTC.

Even in the middle of winter, this is a lovely park so am looking forward to seeing it in spring and summer. Had a little bother finding my way to GZ as I approached from Washbourn Drive entrance. Much easier from Oxford St.
My GPSr was pointing to a yew tree, which was a bit daunting as I hate searching in them, but luckily spotted a better hiding place about 10m away. Day #71 of my streak. TFTC.
