With the development work on the empty lot, the flax bush has been hauled out in the last few days, and this cache is now gone.
Best survival story of a logbook yet! Floating like a bottle in the ocean Needs maintenance.
The weather was very wet and windy and we were pleased to find the park completely deserted.
Our experience with flax has had its ups and downs so we were a little concerned upon arrival at GZ that it might take a while but fortunately we spotted the cache reasonably quickly after checking a few spots.
The cache container was a bit damp but the contents are nice and dry.
We haven't been to this park before and enjoyed watching the ducks swimming nearby. Thanks for bringing us here.

Another DOT day for the team today, and luckily I was out of our usual area and decided upon this cache for a smiley.... noted the last few finds were DNF's which concerned me a little, but still went in for a look....parked down the road some ways due to yellow lines on the road side, and walked to GZ... approached and had a little think as to where I would hide a cache in this area and came up a start point for the search....bingo, first place I looked.... lucky....

The rest of the family had an invitation to play badminton at College Rifles Park but I had other fish to fry. I "escaped" the park by crawling under a locked gate into a nearby apartment complex and headed down the road into the park. Looking at the cache site, I was rather concerned... so much flax... so I started beating the bush up, and found the cache tucked in a rather snug location. Picked it up signed log and headed to the "other reserve". TFTC!

Driving around here, not far from Dom's place. Decided to find this one. didn't take long to spot. Contents were bit wet but log is safe to sign. tftc.

Just driving doing some caching. Found it at a random park off the main road. Was a quick easy find.

Took longer than it should as I initially thought it was a piece of litter. Photo very helpful

Vistited the park with Okayness who found the cache. Used the nearby seat to sign the log. TFTC
A lot of fond memories associated with this park. Toadless and I grew up in the area, so came here a lot and we've seen all the changes over the years. A nice quick trip down nostalgia lane. Tftc
Found and signed quickly but then I had to lurk around for quite a while until a dog walking muggle went away. TFTC
What a day to be alive! The stars have aligned to help us find our first cache! T'was a bit hard to find but we got there in the end. Truly inspirational. Can't wait to find the next one. the journey begins now
Found it quickly little muddy but log is dry
This was my 91st find on my journey to 100

Found this on a quick walk in the area. Unfortunately I didn't have a pen on me. Great hiding spot. TFTC
Even though it's a rainy day, cache still very dry and kept myself dry while receiving. Tftc
Very hot afternoon to go geocaching. Very pleased to have some shade provided by the trees. Cache quickly located, all in good order. TFTC
Carried on after picking one up at Waiatarua Reserve... Had a few muggles to avoid so ended up sitting on the nearby benches for quite some time. Found the cache (still dry!) and quickly signed the log. Watch out for the mosquitoes! Tftc.
Took my 4 year old to "find" a geocache nearby that I had previous found and thought was cool. She then wanted to find another, so off we went and she helped to find this cache. Tftc!
Had dropped Miss NZT on the Shore and were heading home, was such a lovely evening just had to stop and mop up a few caches in this area.
Murphy's law couldn't have parked further away from the cache even if we had tried.
Strolled to GZ and the cache was quickly found and log signed.

Easy find and didn't need photo. No way the log will get wet now, nicely contained! Swapped trinkets. TFTC. #8
replaced log, again. this time its smaller in its own container, inside 3 bags. Lets try keep this dry please
Took a bit of searching but eventually found it. Was a very exciting time for 4 little boys and 1 adult. logbook was dry. Thanks for our first Geocache search !
Had to park a long way away but it was a nice walk across the park then a quick find. Even with all the protection, the log is still mighty damp. TFTC
I walked through a entire flax bush just to have my brother find it at the front of the bush
I had this afternoon to Geocache, but it turned out to be a rainy day. I shamelessly looked at the pictures and hint to try to reduce my search time, but it still took a few minutes since it was tucked in a really good spot. I tried to cover the cache as well as I could when i opened it to prevent it from getting wet. TFTC.
Nicely named - only 'got it' as I sat down to log the find!
Great coordinates. I was dreading the "harakeke" search, but really like the way this has been hidden - nicely done.

Had collected casaba3's dog from doggie day care and taken her to the vet to investigate a suspicious lump and it was then time for a walk in the park. Casba3 had already found this one but we were nearby so I followed my nose and made a quickish find ( initially looked in the wrong place). Thanks dagonNZ! Nice to find another park (unlike casba3, I don't live in the area so hadn't yet been here).
Awesome hiding spot!! Look out for cockroaches lurking in the bag around the container.
Kids were disappointed about the items to swap (a plastic coin and a box of dead matches) but had fun finding it nonetheless.
Went out this morning with yorkshirekiwi83 for a few caches around the Mt Wellington / Stonefields area. A quick find here after a short stroll through the reserve. TFTC!
Dropped in geocoin.

Vistra and I had another morning of caching together in the Mount Wellington / Stonefields area. Got to the area and quickly worked out where it was, quick grab and sign. TFTC
That sure is a well protected log. Appreciate the care. Nice to visit a new park, had to be careful of muggle and her yappy puggle
Thankfully I had looked at the picture before heading out, as I wouldn't have been able to see it on GPSr. Took a bit of fossicking about before I stood up for a stretch and spotted the cache. TFTC
Great cache that is superbly protected against the elements. Very easy terrain - no trouble to get it even with injured ankle after yesterday's Geocaching fall out of a tree!
A quick find. I'm impressed with the packaging. Well done. Dropped of a TB that wants to get back to an icy climate so I hope someone else can help cause there arent any icebergs around here!
Oh no! I thought maybe I shouldn't have stopped for this one when I read about the type of plant it was hidden in. However, as I approached GZ and saw where the fence was, my hopes were raised. - - - As you can probably guess, it was a pretty quick find. I think the log-book was the most well-protected I have ever seen. No excuse for getting soggy!!! TFTC. Good one .
He told Her that He had put fresh batteries in the GPS so didn't need to take spares, before making the trip to Mt Wellington to deliver flowers. Turned the GPS on at Floramax and drove to Abbotts Reserve only to find the GPS was dying on me. Swapped batteries out of the head-torch and walked by moonlight to near GZ, then swapped back into the torch to find the cache. TFTC.
Note to Her: When He says He has put fresh batteries in say "Take some spares just in case."
Note to Him: When She says Take some spares just in case say "Thats a good idea."

School holidays and stopped for some fresh air after a day at work with MissK1103. We found it just as it started to rain and inside cache was wet so back to the car to dry it out and sign log. I'm not silly so I sat warm and dry whilst MissK1103 put cache back. Did some cool trades.
I had a look for this one once before and ran out of light before I found it so it has been on my list to go back. Daylight saving and having No.1 son at work with me today made this a must do on our way home.
CO has gone to great effort to keep log book dry. Thank you for your efforts as a nice dry log was lovely to sign. The inner two plastic bags holding the log were dry but water had already made its way into the third plastic bag around log book, cache and external bag. Dried each of these places with paper towel and resealed all the bags carefully.

Cleaned cache, replaced sodden log book (triple bagged), replaced external bag. This cache often gets wet, please try to put it all back together as found.
