Greetings all the way from Gladstone, Central Qld Finally found it. Words can't describe how it feels to touch it and still not know it's there.... Geowife almost peed her pants because I refused to leave without finding it (it was her idea to go for this one to start with because it has so many likes)Thank you for sharing this beautiful part of the world with us
Too many muggles around to have a proper look - will return on another day to have a better look
# 12167Nice quick find. Very clever engineering. Favourite point awarded. We had dinner at the seafood restaurant nearby, found the cache and then we went on penguin patrol. We saw several very quickly. We're on a two-week driving tour of Tassie. We're based in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney NSW.TFTC awgreenhill
Merging my accounts. Found this as Hoterini 28-9/12. Now tracking together with Ambers007 and merging the old finds.
Swampy and I decided to visit Stanley with the aim of adding Pine Nut (GC52EF) to my list of oldest caches found. After an excellent trip, visiting the Hydro Power Trail along the way, we continued heading North West caching as we went. We found many different type of hides, cache containers and conditions. We fixed what was needed and replaced as found. What they all had in common was getting 2 geeks outside for some exercise. This find, On The Way To The Wharf, brings my total to 1650 and was found at 17:52 on 7/6/2024.Thanks awgreenhill for playing the game and giving us another reason to visit this area. Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
For the Kings Birthday long weekend, VK7HCH, Mrs HCH and I came up with a plan to cache our way to Stanley and back. The reason is so that HCH can find Pine Nut and for both of us to have a caching run over the long weekend. We met at Mood Food Kempton and started caching along the Waddamana Road series. We picked up all of the Highlands Power Trail caches, some around Miena and Little Pine Lagoon before having lunch at the Great Lake hotel. We then made a bee line straight to Stanley to get booked into our accommodation and then managed to find a few more after dark. Our thanks to all the caches owners for placing these caches for us to find today. Found at 17:54. This takes my number of finds to 4873.
Lived in Tasmania for a number of years now however this is my first time North West Tassie. Driving around the area for our 30th wedding anniversary. Looked for a while but could not find. Had to give up early as Husband is not into it caching. Will have to come back again to find some more & take more time looking. Thanks for the adventure though.
Today we have finally arrived in Stanley to explore and climb the Nut. Its been a bit grey and windy today so we decided to just do the AL and wander around the town. A really pretty quaint town.Classic hide really nicely done TFTC
I was about to give up and DNF but looked a bit harder and found it. Very cool TFTC
Logging without having signed. Have messaged the owner. Absolute favourite of ours, the cache and the location. Many thanks.
Mrs Shifter went for an early morning walk and located this cache but was unable to open to extract the log, so Mr Shifter came along for a walk before lunch and had appropriate tools to open the container. Thanks for the hide awgreenhill.
Found this cache while my wife was ordering the fish and chips from Hursey Seafood Nicely hidden signed log as BT thanks for the cache.
It was a lovely, fun filled week with good friends as we explored Tassie and its many delightful treasures. Definitely a holiday, but a holiday with that type of friend that steps up when needed, so they were very supportive of my need to detour or disappear occasionally for a cache. 'Are you loitering again?' as they called it... my loitering at trees, bushes, walls, signs, bridges, statues... well, you know!Exploring the lovely little town of Stanley. This took a little searching but got there with a little systematic searching. Could easily have overlooked this, nicely hidden!
We were lucky to have this place muggle free this morning, so we set about looking for something out of place and sure as eggs, Mrs Parko was onto it. Took a bit to retrieve the log, but got it out and returned as found. Thanks awgreenhill
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure started with a sunrise walk around The Nut in Stanley before a road trip to Launceston via some country stops.
I attempted this cache last night when I first arrived. My GPS was a little off and I immediately made this way more complicated than I should have. Slipping and sliding, searching and searching in the cold dark rain.
I eventually gave up and resorted to a PAF for a hint aiming to return the next morning. Having discovered that I had indeed over complicated the hide, I put my hand straight on it today . How could I have been so silly. I was virtually looking at it the whole time last last night.
Thanks awgreenhill for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. A favourite for the memorable journey here!

Freezing cold windy morning but exhilarating. Found it but it refused to leave its home so I have taken photo to send to owner tftc
Found the cache! Definitely needed a good dose of observation - unfortunately didn't have the extraction tools to get it out! Great spot
Caching around Tasmania. TFTC.
A nice sneaky hide. Quick find and then out of the wind.

Sunshine now. The sun has come out again and looks like it’s going to be hanging around for a bit longer this time.
A little tricky, but got there eventually.

We are staying at the village nearby so wandered here for a look. After looking in all the wrong places. Including the right place just the wrong way, we finally spotted the hide as we had it in hand for a while.
Thanks for the great cache

Nice little walk to this one, coords are spot on, geo hubby and I sat and decided to look around, soon had our hands on the very good camo. Lid was on and had no problems taking log out. All is good and a fav from me for the effort taken to hide this cache TFTC

I really enjoyed my visit to Stanley and the walk around The Nut. As a previous cacher has mentioned, the log is full and requires a replacement. Thanks for the geofun.

Excellent hide - pays to use your power of observation. Wind proved to be a challenge. TFTC
Well here's a problem....we found the little sod right at the GZ but couldn't get him out of his hidey spot no matter how we fiddled and muttered. Photo taken for proof of find. TFTC.. a very clever one but in need of maintenance.
Stanley was the turnaround point on today's ride before heading back to the boat. I was in need of the facilities at the end of the path while the boys had their F&Cs and that took me right past this one where I soon spotted the very nicely crafted cache container at 13:35.
A great spot and well disguised container earns a fave point from me.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks awgreenhill.

Day 4 of our Tassie tour. A day off from driving, and a sunny but windy day in Stanley. First cache of the day was a quick find. Thanks.
Found with The X-Trailers as we explored the coast. Love this town with so much to see and do. TFTC
Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
After 2 of the AdLab wsy points we wandered down the path, I only moved it once before making the find! Have an FP for your work.

On my fantastic family holiday to beautiful Tassie with TT016, PrincessAria1 & LittleG00sE.
We arrived at Stanley mid afternoon.
I love daylight savings, as after dinner we went for a wander around Stanley & down to the beach collecting a few caches along the way. We even saw a little penguin hiding amongst the rocks.
This cache was a difficult one to find. It was moved a couple of times before eventually seeing it. Stanley is a lovely little town. I will be back.
Thanks for placing the cache for our enjoyment, awgreenhill

Found after inadvertently moving the cache twice. Very cool hide with hevwalker little goose and princess Aria
A great walk along the beach with icybeetas, nettieknows and gridge98 on our getaway in Stanley. TFTC.
A tricky hide of a type I have recently seen before. Start of a great walk. Thank you for the cache,
Yes this cache is indeed there at the correct posted coordinates last one of the day for me after getting most around Stanley. A very productive day TFTC
I have grouped this traditional cache generic log pertaining to each CO. I shall only deviate from the generic if there was an issue with the cache .
I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort in placing and maintaining your caches, and this generic log has nothing to do with disrespecting your time in placing them out there, as it has to do with time restraints due to the great number of caches my partner dalerious and I signed here.
EACH and every cache we visited was special, and we thank you so much. Most were chosen to qualify for Challenge caches both here and on the mainland .
There are too many of you to name individually so please accept that I acknowledge you all and I am truly grateful for your contribution and understanding .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Even from just looking at the map back home we knew the view from the wharf was going to be amazing. Possibly even better than the one up top. [^]
We were there at the right time too to see the foreboding Nut stealing the last light from the wharf as wind picked up flicking sea spray over the stone wall. The scene was everything we hoped for. [^]
And there was a cache on the way there too.
Day one on the Apple Isle and having driven off the ferry in the morning, catnap777 and I were thrilled to make it all the the way to Stanley to find the chair lift still open long enough to get us to the top of The Nut.
After taking in all the amazing views from every vantage point (and finding every cache up there), we enjoyed walking the descent to our waiting chariot before the sun set on this glorious day in God's country.
We then set about finding a few more caches around town before retiring to our very comfortable lodgings for the night. [^]
Some pretty nasty weather was on its way, but it didn't catch us in Stanley.
TFTC awgreenhill. The sneaky hide and log are in good condition.

Whilst we were out traveling around town doing an Adventure Lab we had to take the opportunity to look for this cache. The whole reason we had chosen to spend a few nights in Stanley was so that we could have Lobster at Hursey Seafood. Just as we were about to ring through our bookings we found the restaurant was closed for refurbishment. S#!T!!!
As the cache was close we had to go and check out the place we had travelled half the country to visit and then walked down to GZ with tears in our eyes. Adding another favourite point to the pile as long as you don’t tell anyone we were crying. tftc

Found! And way much quicker than I expected, given the previous comments. It must have been a fluke! And I’m very grateful for that given the current severe weather warning with wind 60km/h to 70km/h with wind gusts of 80km/h to 90km/h. Wonderful historical town with penguins!
With Monks55 on a very windy day in Stanley. What a lovely town. Enjoying strolling around the town and picking up a cache or two. TFTC
We were visiting Stanley for the day and thought we would try and collect all of the Stanley caches. This one put us through the ringer. No luck on the first attempt. It was difficult to spot as others had said. Everyone came back so we had more eyes, before Mr SudsyNZ made the find of the well-hidden cache. TFTC
Hello awgreenhill thank you for the cache
MrsD and I had a look for this one a long time ago without any luck.
Today my GPSr had me looking in a different spot.
After a lengthy search I was looking where I had looked some time ago was during this search that I spotted some thing that gave the hide away.

After a good nights shut-eye [even with all the wind-noise out] i decided to sleep on this one so i could think more clearly for another go at it the next morning...... fast forward to 09:30 i was back here looking again.
I was making the same mistakes again, so i knuckled down hard and started scrutinizing objects.
**"You Snake in the Grass!!** That is indeed sneaky as a snake!" ......and i love it!
SO much so it easily deserves a Favorite Point, just on the evil of it alone
I'm kind of glad i Cache alone coz it saves me the humiliation of a Muggle friend finding it before me [the Cacher]... especially if i've looked there before {More than once too} ha ha
**Camo is indeed King!**
Blue DNF face turned upside down.. overnight!
and is now a Smilie
With a big smile i was SL at 09:43 on Wednesday 13 October 2021

Post fail on this one i was informed that i will love it when i find it. I asked for a hint then after reading the logs i reckon i know what it is and then fired off another PAF SMS saying: "Don't send any hints or clues" i wanna find this one for myself. It will be rewarding when i do given all the Fave Points
I tried the rock wall initially on the beach due to a wandering GPS.
After slipping and hurting myself [mildly] on the slimy rocks below i quickly abandoned that idea. Going on past log hints [to the best of my limited knowledge] it's not there so i can't wait to get back to it tomorrow.
