Hi Trigger_Fish
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

The geocache is still there. It was always intended to be a challenge to find. The game has changed over the years. If someone can’t find a cache they now post needs maintenance logs when they used to simply post DNFs.
No luck. I realise they wanted to make it harder but I feel it defeats the purpose of making the gps out for a app the relies on gps. If everyone did this, it wouldn’t be overly fun anymore. A better hint is needed if the gps is going to be out
Would have loved to have got this one, but not today. Coconuts3 and I had a really good look, but not good enough!
Out with busy paws so we had three pair of eyes searching. Knew it would take a while so even made a coffee and continued. We looked and looked and looked but to no avail for us.
I have tried to find a similar cache in North Otago with no luck. But after dinner set out with a good torch to try and avoid lots of muggle activity. Searched with two pairs of eyes for probably half an hour and had no luck, but then again I wasn't really expecting to find it!! But had to try anyway.
I've stopped here a few times, I'm sure it's there we just couldn't find it today. Thanks for the hunt!
We had planned a trip to Canterbury and Otago but an issue meant we couldn't go after all so a day trip was planned to Castle Hill area which had been on our wish list for some time then to grab a few more caches as we worked our way back to the West Coast.
This cache is a classic example of perfect timing. As we casually searched along the wall, cognisant of the fact a family in a camper nearby were keen observers, we heard a call and toot which at first was ignored then when repeated I looked around to see gracie7 + Mum just a few metres away. A very quick mini event was held before discovering it was them who had replaced this cache when it was missing a long time ago so who better to help? Even then it took a little while to find it, our bodies making a shield from any onlookers. Log signed then we headed off again in our different directions.
Thank you Moneydork (and gracie7 + Mum of course).

It was a perfect day for a look at the "to do-list" and a day trip followed. Turn around point was Castle Hill and some more caches along the road back to Arthur's Pass were earmarked. Initially we expected something like the "Welcome to Runanga" cache but the GPS disagreed. Casual observation ensued under the watchful eye of a small busload of people having a toilet stop and a snack. Then a toot from a parking car. Huh? To our great surprise gracie7 and Mum got out. After the impromptu mini event talking all things caching they offered assistance which we greatfully accepted. With the bus people no longer the wiser with their view blocked it still took some time but the find was made. Thank you Gracie7 + Mum for the assistance and Trigger_Fish for the cache
This one is not for us. We stopped at the facility and decided to look for the cache. Our gps being off, knowing the coordinates were off didn't help much, ad we had a huge area to cover. Maybe another time.
My last day on the West Coast and before I travelled back over Arthurs Pass I decided to spend the morning grabbing a few caches.
I stayed longer than intended and no luck. Cleared out alot of rubbish - should have taken picture for the NEAT locationless cache but oh well less things for the Keas to eat. Got so excited 3 times when I spotted only white thinking a pill container only to discover it was a discarded bottle lid. Oh well. Another time.

Out for a day's caching with BaldEd today visting caches mainly around Arthurs Pass.
Even though I had a previous finder with me it still took a while to locate the sneaky blighter.
Cheers for the cache.

Finally!! I used to come up here with a colleague once a month for work and always had a look for this one. It was a bit of a standing joke with my colleague that I could never find it.
Today Mr B and I had spent the day walking around Arthur's Pass and finding a cache or two. As we headed home I needed to use the nearby facilities and then I persuaded him to let me have a 5 minute search for the cache.
Thirty seconds later as I walked beside the wall I spied what I had always assumed the cache would be! Yuss!!
As I walked back to the car Mr 2Sharpe happened to pull over in his car. "Did you find it?" he asked. I think my grin said it all!

After a night in Arthers pass we readied for the next stage and resupply food and had a good night's sleep before heading back to the hills for a few nights
It going to be a great bit of fun looking forward to it.
A little bit of snow is not going to stop us now .
The next few weeks are going to fly by and a lot of fun .
So let's go but a quick stop to get needed info and of course something yummy.
Finally I am back on the main land , feels good to back in the south island.
Living life one foot steep at a time as i walk from cape reinga to bluff and caching my way home as I walk the
Te Araroa and discover the hidden treasures new Zealand has to offer.
From the beachs of the north to the forest and lakes and the odd bump of the south
Blùff here i come
Thanks for the hide

I understand why some might persevere at this but after 15 min my conclusion was that this is not for me.... Good luck to others...
Caching with Kazzie__Lou. We looked in all the wrong places again. Younger eyes proved invaluable. Great hide. Fave point given for all the past pain. Tftc
Lost count of the amount of times I've looked for this cache, but finally found it!! TFTC
Not posting a dnf.
Yes yes yes plenty to turn over step up on and muggles to dodge. SeArched here evening and daytime on three occasions during our overnight stay. No no no was the result. A good excuse to come again. I just wonder is it on steel or in the rocks.

FINALLY!!! After numerous trips got it. Even visited it with La Vista last week and couldn't find it, and they had found it previosly.
We searched for quite a while but had no luck this time. As it is a very busy location at daylight we would recommend to give this cache a try at evening time.
From the [geocaching guidelines](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=128&pgid=673) :
"5.1. How to get accurate coordinates
Why are accurate coordinates important?
Accurate coordinates make the difference between a happy find and a frustrating DNF. They prevent geocachers from damaging the environment by searching at the wrong location.
When hiding a cache, record accurate coordinates."
I searched for quite a while, read the 'hint', and then immediately put this one on my ignore list.

No luck for us here today, parked 5 mtrs away but since the coordinates are slightly out, we’re not sure where to look??? Lots of muggles here too, going to the toilet and parking vehicles.
Had two visits while in the village but too tough for us. Thanks for the challenge.
On a bit of a weather dependent mission in the area but first a few extras while the sun is still shining
Parked up put the kettle on and had a look had it found before the kettle had boiled nicely hidden this is my third go at this glad to get a find tftc

Anhedonia at it's best.
We started to comb the place when someone came by and asked if we have lost something. Turned out she's geocaching sometimes as well and is on her way for several months already, doing Te Araroa trails.
We united our forces for a while but didn't come up with anything. Not too surprising, anyway. I think we lacked methodism.

Yaaaaay! Found it with odgersaj! He tells me he once tried to find it at night in the snow and having found it now, he had no chance! TFTC!
I tried for the FTF with a friend in the dark, snow, mildly toddled, with little caching experience... no chance! This is visit four-ish, and was finally glad to tick it off! TFTC with cab165
As we approached we thought 'there is no way' but after only a couple of minutes I spotted a wee something - YES!!! that is what we were looking for - Phew Thanks for what turned out to be an easy find for us
#14821. Today was our third attempt on this one. I wasn't very hopeful, so was very pleased to spot the cache soon after we started searching. It's always satisfying to knock off a tricky hide. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a long weekend jaunt to Greymouth.
We had looked for this cache last June on another trip to the Coast, but were unsuccessful. Today, SW walked right up to it. How did we miss it last time? Good to turn a frown into a smile. Thanks Moneydork.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 2: More Christchurch Geoart was the order of business, with the Eclipse, Smurfs and Geocaching Glossary series the main goal before heading to the airport to pick up Iammrwalker this afternoon and heading over Arthur's Pass for the CANZ West Coast cache and finishing with the "Know when to Hold em" pick up 52 series.
Now with Iammrwalker on board it was time to head over to the other coast.
This was one cache we all particularly wanted as it filled another gap in the current loop around the D/T grid, and from reading a few of the previous logs we knew it was going to be a challenge. However we had a small idea of what to expect from the hide. We all split up and took different sections around GZ and took the slow and methodical approach, and even with 3 sets of eyes looking it still took us 15 minutes to find, and we were correct with our guess.
Thanks for the challenging hide.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size.
This is the first cache on the push across to Greymouth and we were very pleased to get it thanks to HKCB's perserverence.
Thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.
This was my first find of the trip. We stopped here due to the unique DT rating which I needed to fill a gap in my grid. We were really methodical and it took a fair bit of time but HKCB eventually managed to locate this one. TFTC.

Had a decent look today (despite the high-ish muggle factor) but had no luck.
We had a DNF a few years, back but neither of us was prepared for long search today, so after 10 mins without success, moved on.
A daytrip to ChCh to pick up furpurse so I had a quick look on GSAK at what may need attention. 5 DNFs in a row?
We stopped to check it and JUST as I spotted it Mum came up and said "there it is" When will she ever let ME find it?
The log was quite damp so we put it on the dashboard and stayed for 10mins until the log was bone dry.
All good again. Happy Caching

About a year ago we had stopped here one afternoon and had a good look for this cache. On that occasion it was impossible to be stealthy, and we ended up with most of a busload of asian tourists peering at the rock wall trying to see whatever it was that we were looking at.
We planned our return tonight deliberately. We are camping here tonight, so we have no time pressure and we can search by torchlight without people around. After over an hour of looking we went back to the van and sent requests to a couple of previous finders for confirmation that what we thought we should be looking for was indeed correct. What we got in reply was enough to get us back out searching at about 11pm with renewed enthusiasm. After another 20 minutes we were once again starting to feel that anhedonia. Then one of us noticed something - and there was the cache. Very pleased to have added this one to our Found list.

Jumped off the train and raced over to this one before we got back on the coach but unlucky.
Found it on the way to the coast after getting a hint in the right drection. Thanks great hide.
Parked the car and as you do we visited the Boys and Girls room. So there I was having wandered back first, peering at you know what, getting very cold and disgruntled and the other half turned up. One quick look and she's saying, "what's this??"-----and there it was !!!!!!. With no one else there my skippity hops went unviewed. Thanks.
Started the search, but worker from Kiwirail started to do something close to the fence.
Hours and hours of looking and thanks to a little hint from Gracie it was found
We stopped here on the way to ChCh so Mum could have a comfort stop. While she did that I checked on the cache. All good here. Happy Easter Caching
Had a bit of a search but quickly gave up and moved on to more enjoyable caches. Maybe we will find it next time. TFTC!
TFTC in this location it is what helps make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Unfortunately after a good look around we didn't find the cache this time.
In New Zealand for 4 weeks. Travel the South Island with our campervan. Of course, we have seen many great places and met nice people.
This cache we have found.

Well while passing thru and after finding some other local caches I attempted this one with no luck.
Expanded the grid and realize it is a challenge due to its D/T rating but a careful 30min expand grind search resulted in no joy.
Maybe next time.

After three attempts over 3 days we finally found it! Was M's keen eyes that spotted it while the rest of us searched. Tftc
We wanted to give this one a quick try, maybe we were lucky. But no, we didn't find it. We were observed by a kea who was very interested in what we were doing
Wir wollten diesen unbedingt finden, haben dann aber doch aufgegeben.
Eine super Idee ihn hier zu verstecken. Vielen Dank für den Cache.

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.
Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!
Today we drove from Greymouth to Christchurch. Of course some caching on the way. Our plan was to get there in time to Twilight Picnic event. And we did. But we had no luck with this one.

We had to stop in and give this cache a go. Found after drinking coffee, eating snacks and getting enough time for a decent look in between bus loads of tourists. Very sneaky hide. TFTC
Unintentionally left a pen here. Probably when MrsG looked up and two inquisitive keas were inches from her head....think it fell out then. Optimistically thought she needed it, we didn't for this cache. Thanks anyway, the keas were a bonus.
We were passing through and stopped for a pitstop so checked on this one for you.
We can confirm the cache is still there. Last found Feb/6/2015

Had a look whilst we were stranded in Arthurs but lots to look at.... Stones stones and more stones.
This was to be my 100th find but when I got there I read the clues and immediately gave up when there are so many more that deserve the distinction of being the 100th why would you give incorrect coordinates to fool the people... anyway not worth my time to search for this one
I came, I searched for 30 minutes and then I left, disappointed. So many hiding places for a micro - very tricky!
Like many before me I left empty handed, I thought I knew what to look for but after expanding the search area and looking high, looking low, looking behind under and over I had to move on .
Hope I can repay you next time you are in Oz
Cheers

Had a good look but no luck today. Will try this cache again and hopefully nail it.
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. Had a 10 minute look and then it was time to move on.
We could not find the cache.
Thanks for showing me this location and the cache!

Sorry for logging late...
This cache was visited by me either during the one month (February 2015) of hiking/tramping in NZ together with Bärgegumperli or in March/April 2015 while on a bicycle trip across NZ and AUS.
We/I enjoyed geocaching a lot.
Hiking
Hikes:
- Abel Tasman NP: Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Inland Track, Separation Point, Coastal Track, Marahau.
- Nelson Lakes NP: St. Arnaud, Hopeless Hut, Travers Saddle, Blue Lake, Waiau Pass, Thompson Pass, D'Urville Valley, Lake Angelus, St. Arnaud.
- Arthur's Pass NP: Mt Brown Hut, Styx Valley, Browning Pass, Whitehorn Pass, Waimakariri Valley, Jordan Saddle, Hut Spur, Arthur's Pass, Mt Aicken
- Bridle Path
The weather conditions were great for tramping almost every single day. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the peace in some very remote areas and the many friendly people we met on our way or in the different huts.
Cycling from Dunedin to Auckland
It is not my first tour with this bicycle (map with long loading time).
Places along the route: Dunedin, Otago Central Rail Trail, East Manuherikia track, Tekapo, Fairlie, Geraldine, Oxford, Waipara, Hanmer Springs, Jacks Pass, Island Saddle, Picton, Wellington, Homedale, Hutt River Trail, Masterton, Pongaroa, road near Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu, Waipukurau, Fernhill, Taupo, Whakamaru, Tirau, Hauraki Rail Trail, Kawakawa Bay, Aukland.
After one month of perfect weather (see above) I finally got what I had to expect: Some rain... And sometimes stron headwinds. That the route was not flat at all meant usually that the landscape is great .

Cycling from Melbourne to Darwin
Places along the route: Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, Penshurst, Edenhope, Jervois Ferry, Sedan, Tanunda, Crystal Brook, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Uluru/Ayers Rock, The Olgas/Kata Tjuta, Mereenie Loop, Alice Springs, Karlu Karlu/Devil's Marbles, Litchfield NP, Mandorah, Darwin.
Along the coast the weather was often wet and cold. The small roads in Victoria and South Australia were very pleasant to ride despite a lot of headwind. This changed as soon as I reached the Stuart Hwy to sometimes strong tailwinds. That's why I had some "spare" time to ride a loop in the Red Centre. Further north
As in NZ i met some awesome people.

Guess what I did while waiting for a connecting plane in Perth?

*There are a lot(!) of caches which I did not search while on the bicycle trip. The reasons are mainly:
1. Stopping slows if one wants to get somewhere, especially on bridges where no one wants to slow down a fully loaded touring bike. Yes, there were quite a few days with >200 km on the pushbike...
2. Riding or resting next to a loaded (recumbent) bike attracts in some areas so much attention that stealth mode is not possible.
3. On rare occasions I rode during the night. If I had to do that there was no time to search for caches anyway [:-(]
4. Some places I did really not consider worth stopping for a cache... Sorry.
Thanks for showing me this location and the cache!

The first cache on our two day weekend trip to the coast. We decided to start the caching run at Arthur's Pass and as we needed that bio break this cache seemed the natural beginning to the finds. After catching a fragment of conversation about this cache at an event I had a fair idea what I was looking for and after a brief search spotted the hide. Great spot and so glad to get this one. Thanks for the set up.
Yaaaaay finally got this one!!! I suspected this was what I was looking for last time, but I had to abandon due to heavy rain. Now I can stop here for a convenience stop in peace! Thanks for the fun.
This is probably my 3-4 attempt at this cache. Walked up and spotted in 2 seconds!!!, honest My lucky day. Fav for the challenge. TFTC
Only had a short time to look (half an hour) DNF. Will try next visit. More hints would help
I feel a little Hedonism coming on.... Ho yes !!!!!!!
After yesterdays bout with GC-3708T..... Anhedonia......I do have Hedonism, or is it just pleasure plus??
Although I must say I did work for this Happy Face . Yesterday I looked and looked..
Today I had to find it, couldn't leave the area with two DNF X2. So I went back and searched for another hour today. I was just getting ready to give up, and there it was "looking" me straight in the face. It was exactly like I thought it would be.
You just have to find it!
Sign log... Happily...excitedly ... ETC! ETC!
On to my next adventure, thanks Moneydork

Well, the cool wind was steady, maybe a few Km's per hour. Just enough to make me a little blue in the face. After hunting, searching, and looking everywhere for quite some time, I had to through in the "BLUE" towel.
No happy face for me on this one. Just a blue sad frown.
The hide is excellent. I give it my best for almost an hour.
Thanks for this Moneydork

We were passing so had to stop and look, even though the deliberately off co-ords were rather off-putting. With the drizzle and cold wind I was ready to quit after 2 minutes, but StreetWalker persevered. After 10 minutes searching with no luck and with my whining for a coffee, he pulled the plug.
Heading over to Hokitika for the Weekend, with Little Horrible and after a l o n g hunt plus a few PAF Calls to our Friends..She finally spied the wee Rascal..Just as well as Mr Womble wasn't going to leave until we had it signed. At least we had our Bedding with us,if needed Lol Enjoyed the Hunt.
Third time ,or was it the fourth, that I have stopped by to search for this cache. Yabba dabba doo![^] No longer will I have to put up with the taunts and jeers from that smug cacher Smoothhound.
We spent a good half hour looking to no joy, we'll be back to continue the hunt.
This cache has been a *$* *$*& of a cache!!! Every time we've driven past, we've always stopped and have had to have a look. Rocks, rocks and more rocks, where is it!!! Grrrr!!! However, today, it was discovered!!! So pleased to have finally found this one after about 100 attempts (well, maybe not that many but it sure felt like it) Such a time waster this one.
