Find #: 3,548Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Pleasant autumn afternoonCache condition: GoodI had hoped to visit the nearby National Park, but it was closed on weekdays. I decided to console myself with some caches, and this was fairly close. I started with some of the nearby lookouts (including meeting some tourists who were looking to visit a dangerous-looking rock to sit on - eeek Instagram - and wanted to know if I knew where it was. Nope, sorry) before heading around to the stairs and then this cache. I like funiculars, so was sad that there wasn't much left, but appreciate the history provided in the description. TNLNSL TFTC
An awesome view down the powerlines before hitting the trail around to GZ,found the hide after a short search then walked the loop circuit back to the carThank.you TeamWebguy for the cache
Amazing to see the structure and changes to the topography as a result of mans enginnering, yet how th bush has claimed it backGreat cache!Buenos dias!

Nice to get out after all the rain. Easy find. Log slightly damp. Tftc in such an interesting but forgotten part of our history.
Looked around for about 5 mins really searching for those “suspicious rocks” The GF found it surprisingly! TFTG
Was on a walk when I thought I'd check if there were any caches nearby and here was one less than 200m away. Unfortunately no pen with me or in the box so took a photo instead. Tftc
A great walk out in the bush today and a logical find. I took the time to look around today and read through the ten year old logbook which is an original TFTC
Found this a while ago with Danger Queen, logging today after going here with Jimbofindsstuff
Hard to find at first, but rewarding when you do! There was no pen and I didn't have one
Can’t believe we’ve only just found this one. Happy Birthday to Geo Son. TFTC!
found it with a couple mates and it was such a good experience the area is so peaceful and pretty and it’s so cute 10/10 recommend <3
After the community event is was time to grab a few more caches in the area so headed over. A nice walk along the old tram line and cuttings. We picked up a number along here with nice views just near the old winding house station. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Fav pt for the views from the look out

TFTC. We came out here for a bit of a bush walk. The view from Ross lookout is pretty cool. We came on a clear day and you can see the city including Centrepoint tower from here.
Cache is back and camoed.

Searched for a while and finally found a box of treasures not far from winding house, kids did a swap thank you!
Out for cache run around Penrith with a view to find some multi-caches that we need for a challenge cache. On our way to the next multi, we stopped off to grab this cache. After a short search we made the find. With the cache in hand, we signed the log before replacing it as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition. Thanks for cache Team Webguy.

Nice walk ou to here and interesting to learn about the funicular railway and the winding house. History, nice bushtrack, gorgeous winter day and a well-hidden good sized container. Excellent! TN L the Booty McBootFace TB SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
In light of the current travel restrictions and the requests by regional councils to stay away etc, I am disabling all my caches until the COVID-19 situation has passed and things return back to normal. Please respect this and do not go looking for these caches.
Lots of branches and leaf debris from recent heavy rain. So many flying bugs made this even harder.
My third cache of the day.
Im up from the city to celebrate my 400th streak day with a bush walk and some of my favourite types of caches to find.
Its a beautiful day for a walk.
At the GZ i searched around for a bit, checking out possible hiding spots before i got in the right spot and noticed the camo.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

Cool spot! Kids took the tamagotchi and left a Star Wars figurine and an American souvenir from the 90s. TFTC
A nice walk on a quiet Thursday afternoon. The area is full of interesting history concerning the development of rail infrastructure through the lower mountains. A good spot to visit.
Geowife dropped me off at the end of Emu Road and I started to work through a few Tramway Route caches while she got some retail therapy at Penrith Plaza. Just got to the first cache and realised that I left my pen in the car. No worries, I thought, I'll just take a photo of the log as evidence that I had found the cache. As I came to other caches I found that some had writing implements and some didn't and so at the end of the day I had signed some logs and taken photos of others. However, when I came to logging them all tonight I was not sure which photo belonged to which log. So if future cachers see a photo that looks a bit out of place - this is the explanation. Also apologies for the generic logs.
Found!! TFTC!
Found with Kyle, left a tamagotchi for the next kiddies to find this cache to enjoy!

We took a day trip to Penrith, Lapstone and Glenbrook today.
We walked along the tram way and the zig zag way and have enjoyed many other nice beautiful spots
Nice landscape to explore.
We’ve also stopped multiple times along the way and solved some multi caches.
We’ve also found a virtual cache in Glenbrook Park.
Thank you all the owners for the nice caches

I took a walk down this track as I was in the area. I had no idea of the history here. I thought it unusual that there were cuttings in the rocks, and then I walked over a clear embankment. Then I saw a tramway sign! I knew it! Rail history is a huge interest of mine. This cache page contained such fascinating history. I was happy to find this cache relatively quickly after visiting the view point.
Have a favourite for the brilliant cache page. TFTC.

Out for a few caches which we missed last time or have gone down since we were here last. Took nothing left nothing, Cache all good, good coordinates. 16th for the day. TFTC
A rare weekend opened up in between elections so we took the opportunity to take a walk through Glenbrook. Great weather and an enjoyable caching day all round.
Walked from one end of the park to the other so we could get the caches we missed on the first pass (due to poor communication!). And we took the loooong way round to get to this one. Went down the stairs, along the creek, back up the slope, only to find that it would have been super easy if we’d paid attention to the remanent building parts and approached from there. Thanks for the cache Team Webguy.

Out caching with ziggiau, MrSmash and dingoman007 today and found many fun caches in the area. Thanks to the COs for placing them. A really interesting spot made more interesting by being able to connected all the dots thanks to this cache.
As SSSonya said, I just love these old feats of engineering. Thanks so much, Team Webguy, for all those brilliant old photos of the construction days and the funicular railway that was used, like the scenic railway. A favourite point from me for the fascinating history, research information and effort to create this cache. Seriously, well done!!! TFTC
Fascinating bit of history, and a decent sized cache - a favourite point from me! Dropped off a trackable and put the logbook in a new (non-holey) snaplock also TFTC Team Webguy!
Found this while doing the 'Glenbrook ramble' series. Great bit of history here. Stopped to have a sit on the old foundations to read the information, then continued up the track a bit to where the GPS was saying 'photo op' and sure enough emerged to a monstrous cliff edge looking down to the rail line- spectacular view- well worth the stop. TFTC and history Team Webguy.
Found this one with three little partners in crime. They were so excited to see the lot and trade a special treasure. TFTC
What a great walk this is (it’s so good I’ve done sections 2 days in a row). I’ll be back again too as there is still more to do... a lot cooler today after a warm one yesterday. TFTC
