Unfortunately it was still to windy and dangerous to attempt Mt Cameron so I had to admit defeat (really wanted the cache up there for my Tassie DT rating) so decided to head up the coast to Petal Point and Cape Portland for a few caches before attempting to move on from Gladstone (so many road closures up here ). Still strong buffeting winds today but no rain.Crikey it was so windy here unbelievable, the gusts were almost blowing me over when we got to the hide. The cache however is in a great spot and protected well from being blown away. Found in the first spot I checked dont you just love it when that happens?TFTC what a spot

In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Wow, what a fabulous area. Would love to have camped out here but instead just made the walk out to GZ and with some accurate co-ords, we made an easy enough find. We will definitely be back. Thanks Tassie Trekkers for highlighting this area, by placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

Headed out to NE Tas today to find caches which have been on my unfound list for way too long. The round trip covered 675km over 12 hrs. After 3hrs of driving, arrived at the parking area at Petal Point.A short walk into gz accompanied by Murder(4paws) who enjoyed stretching his legs after a long drive.Accurate coords led me straight to the hide with the cache being in exc condition.Such a beautiful spot out here with awesome views and quite sheltered from the se winds.A fav from me.Many tftc Tassie Trekkers for a great cache location which was thoroughly enjoyed.....cheers ST.

Thanks for a beautiful spot. Very windy today. Alas lots of tussocks & bushes. Not many rocks at GZ tipped all that were there. Still no find.

Hi TassieTrekkers, gee isn't this a terrific area to camp with families. Staying at Anson's Bay for the weekend with NatalieC1234 and we are doing the Musselroe Bay, Cape Portland, Gladstone and Petal Point areas today. This was a beaut GZ with wide open sea and gorgeous beaches all around, what a lovely spot to hide a cache. All is good with the hide and log, grabbed a TB to head back down the coast with me. Thanks for all your hides.

day 4 of our 5 day camping trip travelling and exploring starting at Bridport and ending at Policeman's point to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Night 1 Bridport, night 2 Ransons beach, night 3 petal Point. day 4 and another smilie as we continue to explore our beautiful states NE. Again such gorgeous views on offer. found cache quickly and everything in excellent dry condition. Left Squid TB that we discovered in the Bridport multicache. Great free camping spot

After finishing my activities for central Tassie it was time for me to move on to the East.
I have chosen to camp up here somewhere, but when reaching the campground near this cache the wind was very strong. There was only one other camper here at the time, but I continuted onto Musselroe for the night.
Thanks for the cache.

We enjoyed the drive into this cache, checking out the wind farm. We were also met with multiple wombats crossing the road. They are so big here!

Near GZ we opted to leave the 4wd and camper at the parking & stretch our legs. After a short walk we located the cache. As it was drizzling we didn’t hang around long before heading back to the car & venturing over to the other side of the bay.

No campers here today as it all looked closed up for the season which made for a peaceful time out here, the drive and the walk were both amazing and I was taken with the wind turbines, as we got to GZ we noted that we could have driven almost to it but it was nice to walk for a change and even with the wind having a good go at taking me to Flinders.

Cache was a quick find and in good order.

This weekend was meant to be a quick trip to the big island but with Gladys ruining that chance for everyone we came up with another plan and after a quick chat that Goose had never been to Musselroe Bay and i was more than happy to try and clean up the Northeast corner that is more than a days drive from home

Thanks for the cache.

The rat and I headed off from our base in Branxholm, (via Winnaleah for a multi) in appalling weather. The rain was torrential, but as we approached the outskirts of Gladstone it cleared and the sky was blue. We were shocked at the change but very pleased.
Petal point was our first cache stop up in the top corner. I was excited as I'd not been and further NE than Gladstone before. We enjoyed the drive, marvelled at the wind turbines, checked out Rushy Lagoon and were soon parking at the deserted camp ground. After a short walk and lots of photos we arrived at GZ and made an easy find. Cache is in good order.
Thanks for bringing us here Tassie Trekkers

Slowly catching up on logging caches,
Today I went out with gridge98 to collect a few caches around the north east. A nice day out and great to clock up a few hours for my l2s

I used to come here when I was a kid every summer for a few weeks and stay at our shack at little muscle row bay. Made the nice walk out to the point to find this one, beautiful spot.

Today JLrockstar needed to clock up some hours for his L2s before going into lockdown, what better way than to go along and get a few caches. Overall 7 hours driving completed and 7 finds for the day.

It was absolutely howling a gale out at the point - geowife couldn't even manage to hold the phone still to take a photo - know wonder they have built a wind farm out here. The coords were good for this one but still needed the hint. TFTC Tassie Trekkers Smile

Staying in Bridport for a few days so that we can explore this part of Tassie, which we haven’t been to before. We won’t be over to get all the caches we want to this time due to time and tide!!! But we are discovering some really interesting places!! We absolutely loved this area!! The GPSr tried to take us on to private property to get to the parking area but the iPhone sorted that out quickly. A very pleasant day, a slight breeze a great day for a small walk! Male membsec found the cache right at his GZ! Excellent coords! Thanks for bringing us here. We spent some time exploring the area!

We had never been down this way before. We were fortunate to have a very beautiful spring day. The whole area was magnificent, it makes you want to celebrate being a Tasmanian with locations like the North East. Thanks Tassie Trekkers, without your cache we would never have come to this part of the state.

After checking out almost all the caches at Tomahawk, we bought he van to Petal Point for a while and woolly night. Wind is blowing at least 30 knots, but after we set up the van, had some hot soup for lunch and set off to find this cache. Easy find amongst the tussocks. What a lovely spot. Looking forward to the sunrise tomorrow morning.

Thanks Tassie Trekkers for this cache

Would have to rate this cache as the windiest in the state, would blow the milk out of your cup of tea, I guess that's why there's a wind farm close by. Beautiful even on a gusty day like today. GPS was very crazy possibly due to the strong wind, but with hint soon found the cache.

Travelling around Australia, from our home in WA.

Another lovely day with sunshine! Tasmania is certainly throwing out the welcome sunshine this week.

Today we headed out towards the coast. Beautiful day.

We werent quite sure on how to approach this one. We found the campsite and the track was closed for rehabilitation. Not sure if we could have approached from the beach track but Mr Felix decided to walk in.

Thanks so much for placing this Geocache. Big Grin

The forecast was for very ordinary weather in the north-west today. So, we decided to head east early in the morning hoping for better weather. On arrival it was dry but there was very low cloud and a sea mist rolling in an out. We saw enough of the area to convince ouselves that we should return to fully appreciate the beauty of the area. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Apart from identification, the log book was empty. So, we will claim a FTF at 9:40am. Thanks for bringing us here Tassie Trekkers and TFTC.
