A Day trip to Iron Knob to do some of the FTF PT series back to Whyalla, as well as a couple others that in the area. Most caches found in good condition unless mention otherwise. TFTC
I didnt expect to find anything here but a geocache. What an extraordinary memorial. This makes it real! Drive safely Dropping off a **FAVE.**TFTC Bowz2
Left Wallaroo early this morning aiming for Whyalla. Still hot today so not getting too many today.
A quick find here today as I made my way past GZ.With a few days off I headed over to the northern Eyre peninsula for a 2 night stay in Whyalla, my main aim for the few days was the FITG and the FTF trail plus finding a few caches here and there along the way. Just under 300 caches found for the trip. Thanks for the cache
We paid our respects to Emilio and then found the cache after a bit of a look around. I was so happy to find the A Jennifer trackable still in it because just like a previous finder Im a Jennifer too.
Found on our way past today heading from Cleve to Pt Germein. Quick find and all good here.
Find #6246 on 5 Jul 2023.

Quick find on the way to Kyancutta for the June long weekend. Thanks for bringing us here.
Nice quick park and grab here today, TFTC and maintaining this hide for us and others to enjoy!
RIP Emilio!
RIP Emilio!
Heading back to WA after 5 weeks touring around SA. Just hit the Eyre Highway and noticed this cache. Sad but a common site on roadsides. Drive safe. Tyftc
I too was surprised to see what looked like a grave, but also presumed it was more likely a memorial. Nice cache, and cache and log are good. TFTC Bowz2.
After some overnight rain, it turned out to be a quite nice day with a blue sky appearing, less chilly and windy. Well his family and friends certainly made sure Emillio wouldn't be forgotten. Easily found with iluvtrekking. Thanks Bowz2
Another parkacruz adventure, happy to say we came up trumps here today and walked away with a smiley TFTC
One last day for now around Whyalla, the steel city, home of the rusty mint tin...
and found a few clever caches too
Another day of exploring places we otherwise may not have been!
Came to your cache along the way
Sad to see a site like this, but a nice tribute by friends and family. Stay safe folks.
Much thanks to Bowz2 for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo game map

Searching with Purrfect Di and Jack the Monkey, finding and signing cache logs alone or with family and friends using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
A couple of maintenance assist tasks on the trail caches too. Looked like there had been some extreme weather since we were here last... oh yep, the floods the day after we left!!!
---
Caching is a hazardous activity!
Keep a lookout for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for any old bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Really good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks heaps for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere, apparently! You win a virtual smile for the effort and getting to the end of the log

Another sad cache; there’s been a few on this trip around the Eyre Peninsula. TFTC.

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I finished our trip by driving from Kimba back to Adelaide via Nurioopta. We made a short stop at Port Augusta, and then travelled back south via Augusta Highway, and then left just after Lochiel through Balaklava, Owen, Hamley Bridge, Freeling, and Daveyston. We made it to Geostuff's 10th birthday celebration event, before finishing out our day completing the Adventure Labs in the area.
A sobering memorial. We were interested to see how Emillio met his end, and wondered if the vehicle remnants around the grave was actually connected. We then made the walk away to find this cache very quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Bowz2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

On a road trip around Eyre Peninsular with CBC2. Found many and varied caches along the way. Thanks to all the CO's for the placements. SL TFTC and sorry about the paste for all.
It’s sad to see life ending like this, he must have been a wonderful character to have family and friends create a beaut memorial for him.
Take care and drive safe, it’s about the journey, not just the destination.

Heading west for work and was looking for a place to stop for a driving break and this looked like a good spot. Parked well off the road and wandered over to find a cache past the "grave". Interesting spot. Quickly located the cache and signed the log and replaced it. Back to the car to continue the journey.

Once again flop needed the toilet but with no paper bush leaves were the only option. Cool cache though
After a quick dukie stop. Manage to find some leaves. Oh and the cache of course
Our second DAY IN Pt Lincoln and it was time to focus on caching in Lincoln itself and potential surrounds. It was a cold and grey day interspersed with rain, which was a bit of a downer when compared to the sunshine of the last few days. Despite this we were able to still able to make a good day of it, finding over 50 caches, though it was also a day of quality as well with some higher terrain caches as well. It was an enjoyable day as we were able to tick off some earmarked caches before we finally finished up at around seven.

We share the sentiments of Bowz2. We always worry about the tragic road death of family or friends because we all love roaming this wonderful country.
Found on our way back from a few days along Googs track and the Gawler Ranges. Thanks for the cache Bowz2!
Roads can be dangerous ... it is nice to see that Emillio was obviously loved. TFTC
A plan was hatched to make the most of my time based in Port Augusta. This weekend the plan was to visit all the LGA areas on Eyre Peninsula to work towards the South Australian LGA Challenge. Dr Owl joined me in Port Augusta on Thursday night and we headed off early Friday morning for a wonderful adventure. Plenty of laughs, great scenery and some interesting stories discovered along the way. Today involved heading across the top of the Peninsula to Ceduna.
I was surprised to see an alone or lonely cache out this way, I've seen plenty of them out Hawker way.
Thanks for the cache Bowz2.

Owl and Sushilord were heading west on an epic adventure with the main goal of covering as many council areas as possible so they can qualify for a challenge cache. Caches on the side of the road crying out to be found were also obliged. This was a quick find in a very large SPOR. Careful driving was the order for the rest of the day.
found it on a trip to Whyalla over the Adelaide cup long weekend. passing through iron knob after making a dent in the ftf trail and then slowly home. quick find.
24/55 for today - my best day so far.
Whyalla to Iron Knob through to Renmark. Stopping whenever I felt like it, wherever I felt like it, if there was a cache nearby anyway.
I drove past a lot but didn't have time to get them all!
I felt so small out here in this massive plateau. I had thoughts of the wild west, dudes on horses and posses. This is Day 6 of an 8 Day road trip through SA and I am loving every minute of it.
Thanks

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

After staying in Nuri for a couple of nights, today saw me loaded up and heading to Ceduna before making my way over to W.A. Naturally I stopped to find a few caches along the way.
A pleasant enough day with the rain holding off. A nice quick find too.

Found it with TICE [Hiltsu, J&T, kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Whyalla and back. Some trail caches and others logged on the way.

Hi there Bowz2.
We found your cache **"Emillio"** at 2:47:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15861).
We cached around the Whyalla area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 9 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
**Note:** The listed trackable "Irish Flag Micro Geocoin" is not in the cache,** could Bowz2 (or the Trackable owner) please "Mark the Item as Missing" so it can be removed from the cache inventory. This option is under Actions on the trackable's web page).
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I rolled the geomobile to a stop and was wondering why I was here !!
Only after getting close to the memorial did I see it !! [:o]
Almost un-noticable from the highway !!
This memorial has a lot of work put into it !!
And is a sad reminder of what happens every day
Nearby the cache was soon tracked down

Found this cache while on our way to Iron Knob . We stopped to read the information and ponder on the situation. The cache was easy enough to find and we expect many cachers will stop to find this one. After the duties had been completed all was replaced and it was time to move on. Thank you to Bowz2 for putting this cache out to remind people of the fragility of life.
