As the construction is schedule to take another year, go figure why, there is a container outside the construction in place now for you to find. Once you have the solve for GZ add 0.009 to South and add 0.019 to East to find the container. At the base of a large tree.m, under bark. Cache on.
I have checked on the progress of the construction work today and while I had read somewhere otherwise this is ongoing and worse than ever with the entire University House blocked off. There is no access to the WP or the cache. I will see to temporarily move the location of GZ to make it accessible as the construction is meant to go on for another full year.
This should be Disabled. GZ is a construction zone as mentioned in the last few logs. Im not prepared to enter and neither should others.
Got this before heading of to climbing. One of the construction workers allowed us through to get the cache. TFTC
We had the puzzle solved some time ago, but ongoing construction has made access here tricky. Today we were lucky to get the nod to go in and quickly pick up this tricky little hide before the gates closed.
Thanks, Flintstones!
Thanks, Flintstones!
We received approval to quickly go in and get the cache before the gates were locked. TFTC
#2438 DeadThief and I decided to have a look for a few in the ANU grounds tonight. This was the first and we had GZ to ourselves. I poked around in a few spots before DT spied the cache. Logged and replaced. Cheers.
#495 Turtle and I decided we would head into the ANU today to pick off a few caches. We solved this one before heading off and parked nearby. A short walk later, without running into any security we had arrived at GZ. Turtle started poking around potential hide locations whilst I begun searching with a different strategy, not too much longer I made the find. Turtle made the retrieval. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Flintstones, a nice little mystery
I don’t know how I managed to get in here but I felt like I was somewhere I should not be. There was a sign saying CONSTRUCTION DO NOT ENTER. Not sure if I have the right coords but they took me to a place that a cache could have been, if it wasn’t an abandoned building. Sorry.
Final find of the day before dashing back home to be ready to go inspect a possible future rental (it wasn't that nice in the end). We have had this puzzle solved for a little while but finally returned to the ANU campus to complete the journey today.
We were lucky to pick a day when the campus (and ANU/University House) was essentially deserted (the construction fencing around GZ probably helped create the level of quietness). It was a relatively quick find at the final location (although a bit of unnatural twisting was required to get our hands on the log) as we pretended to tie our shoelaces. Once our name had been signed only one more alien bend was required to return the well-placed container. Thanks for the puzzle and adventure Flintstone's

I solved this àaaaaaages ago, but the first couple of times I tried to look for it the area was too busy or closed off. And then I decided to keep it as a quick cache for a lunch time or after work dash, given that I am working just up the road.
Today the weather was horrible and this seemed a very good after work option.
It's sad to see the building still being under repair.

This cache has been sitting in the solved not found folder for far too long. On this glorious morning I set out really early hoping to sign the log before anyone else was around.
There wasn't a soul in sight anywhere near GZ and the gate was open. I have no idea how anyone could normally be inconspicuous here. For the second time this morning I had to tie myself in knots in order to retrieve and then replace the cache.
Thanks for this cache Flintstone's . SL

A quick find today after solving a few months ago.i am pretty sure the building is not current in use as there us always a lot construction workers and construction stuff around the entrance. That being said today it was dead quiet. Lucky for me as I fumbled around with both grabbing and replacing the cache for a while. TFTC
This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.
Today, I took ownership of our rental car, with my aim of heading to the lower Black Mountain challenges. However, I was lured by the virtual cache at the top of the mountain, and so that became my first stop. A short jog around the hill, and then great views at the top of Telstra Tower.
My next visit was the Australian National Botanic Gardens, completing the *Australia's Garden* and *The Rainforest Walk* Adventure Labs. It was then on to the challenges around lower Black Mountain, spending a few hours walking around before the rain fell later in the afternoon.
My afternoon was then spent touring around Australian National University whilst following a few more Adventure Labs: *ANU*, *Everyone's a critic!* and *What's in a name?*. I then had a walk in downtown Canberra and visited Glebe Park completing that *Glebe Park Wander* Adventure Lab.
After dinner, gridge98 was grabbed from the airport, and we explored some of Parkes in front of Parliament House. A few more virtual, wherigos and Adventure Labs were completed, and we made one last stop at the National Carillon.
As others have mentioned, ANU House is currently under construction for renovations, so I wasn't sure if I would be allowed into the premises. However, the gate was wide open, and there weren't too many people about, so after visiting the posted coordinates, I made my way to GZ. When I just arrived at GZ, a few girls in high visibility must have come from within the interior and approached me, asking me if I was ok. I mentioned I used to go to university here, and just wanted a few photographs, and they seemed to be reasonable with my cover story, and left me be, haha.
I then began to search around, and it took a few minutes in finding, as the cache wasn't exactly where the hint indicated, and in fact, it was actually bigger than the hinted "nano" size. Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Flintstone's for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Worked out the offset way-point, but not game to make my way in.
The whole building appears under renovation, the gate was open but didnt feel confident to make my way in.
I'll keep an eye to see for a finish day.
Thanks

Solved a year ago and finally picked up today. The place seemed deserted but luckily the locked gates were opened today. No one was around but still felt a bit strange being there. The cache was found after a bit of searching but the retrieval was pretty hard. Nice to have a blank log to sign. TFTC Flintstone's!
The enclosed archway appears to be only open in business hours. So today I came back before 4pm and found the gate open. Great!
It was a very tricky find but persistence at the GZ object finally paid off. Went on to complete my 14km mountain bike adventure over 3 hours heading straight for the indoor rock climbing wall down the road at ANU. Great to have changed a blue face to yellow. TFTC Flintstone’s.

This cache is back to be reachable and I have replaced the container at GZ. Please replace back to be hanging on the inside so that it is less obvious.
After the recent DNF I will leave this one off line and check on it soon. The works innthe area might have disturbed GZ.
Here again at ANU for rock climbing so thought we would have another but closer look at this cache location. ANU House is indeed closed until further notice and therefore so is GZ. See photos.
Solved this puzzle earlier this week and made the find today on a very quiet day. Thank you for the cache and for the puzzle Flintstone's.
TFTC from the Viking - catching up some logs.
Night time walk around after work. Only a couple of Muggles but had a refreshing drink of water while waited. Cheers

I had an unexpected opportunity to cache this afternoon. I had some target caches still to get on my Canberra trip, including one that I had failed at the last stage at last night, so I had to take the opportunity to finish it and of course pick up some on the way. This was one in between where I was and where I needed to be, so it had to be attempted.
At GZ there weren’t many people around. I looked where it should be and employed the suggested tactics but had no success and was unable to find the cache. I didn’t expand the search widely as I wanted to move onto the next find in the limited time I had, so it could just be that I didn’t look long enough, or it could be the cache is not there. Future find attempts from other cachers will show which. Unfortunately I have no immediate plans to be back here and returned home interstate this evening so I don’t know when or if I’ll be back.

Sooooo glad to have this one off my list after a few unsuccessful attempts. Tftp!
I was just down the road at a talk/art exhibition opening, decided it was time to duck down and find this
Been here for a couple of odd events, so, after figuring out GZ, I just nonchalantly wandered in the front door, down to the dunny (nature was calling), stopping to take photos of a couple of sleeping fish on my way past. Then wandered over to the direction my phone was pointing me and realised it was out here, not in the courtyard. I searched for several minutes, in the gaps between a few Muggles wandering past, decided to look on a couple odd angles with my phone torch, expecting it to not be much help, and what do you know - I spotted something familiar
TFTC - now leaning on a nearby wall typing a draft log because some bloke in a high visibility vest parked right in front as I was about to replace the cache... He has wandered back and forth and in and out from a few places, but cache easily replaced while nobody was in sight ... time for another look at the fishpond, then home to bed methinks...
Photo: I went for another look at the sleeping fish, which was still motionless in the same weird position. I took the photo, then wondered if it was dead. No - I dipped a fingertip in the water above it, and it moved slightly, so I decided to let sleeping fish lie...
(I guess it either wasn't asleep, or was sleeping with its eyes open... lol)

Quick find this time. It seems to have changed location since the early days of first placement. Found in good condition. Thankfully no muggles due to queens birthday holiday. Tftc
In Queanbeyan to attend the Mega. So great to get here early to spend time catching up with some many familiar faces. Always taking the time to grab a cache, when the opportunity allowed it.
This afternoon we were in Canberra picking up some what usually would be some difficult to get to hides. Being a public holiday, it meant we could almost park on top of lots of the GZ and search without too much trouble. Signed my logs as Happyman and had some fun and laughs along the way.
Once again, with no-one about, it allowed for a good search. Must have missed it, on the first go but it was soon in hand to be signed.
Thanks Flintstone's for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

After lunch I travelled into the town centre to do some caching with Happy Feet
Being a public holiday the area was quiet desserted so we could search for the many tricky caches without a worry.
Another hard to find cache, took some time to find. FP given

A quick puzzle to solve which is why it got picked when we were looking at the huge number of question marks around Canberra.
We spent today riding around the lake and enjoying the area. This was conveniently close on the route back to the car. A tricky little cache that's easy to overlook, or should that be overfeel.... but at least there weren't many muggles. TFTC Flintstone's.

Dad solved this one & we found it today. I really liked the fish in the pond. TFTC.

I'd added this to my solved mysteries list a while ago & the geofamily & I were in the area, so made the collect on this one. It took a bit of looking, but was found safe & sound. Signed the log & wandered in to the garden to show the kids the koi pond & they were thrilled when a couple came over to them & stuck their heads out of the water. TFTC!
Looking looking looking. Roarts found it in a spot we'd all already checked. TFTC
I was here on a trip from Sydney a few months ago and didn't manage to find this one.
But now Im back I thought I'd give it another go, I looked around what I thought were all the right places with no luck.
But then after a clue from the CO I had the cache! Thanks again!

Looks like it has gone walkabout. Replaced with new container. Good to go again
Was staying at the ANU house today, so this was the perfect cache to find!
Or so I thought.
My first attempt, there were workers everywhere, I was 'waiting to get picked up' and 'having a drink' with no luck.
I came back again a few hours later and there was a group of muggles playing Pokemon go, which gave me a good excuse to walk around reading some old logs while I waited for them to leave. Again no luck.
Third time's a charm, or so I thought, I went out at 11pm and there was still muggles around! Only had time for a quick peek before I headed off.
Thanks for the cache anyway!

I know I had the right position but nothing was found. I phoned another cacher who had found it and was told I was looking in the right spot. Used my camera and saw nothing. You may like to check this out. I think it is missing.

On a ride into, around and back from LBG, popped into the house. Cracked this one some 11 months ago, time to get the smiley. Went a bit too far, an over excited GPSr I guess. Once it settled things looked better, and spotted a likely GZ straight away and seconds later CIH. Who would have guessed though there would be so many muggles in period costume wondering around at 8.00am on a Sunday morning??? TNLNSL TFTC
Having been picking off a few Acton/ANU multi's in the last week or so, I found myself quite close to ANU House, so I thought I'd take a look at the puzzle cache hereabouts.
Yay! I exclaimed! This is a puzzle that I can do (as it really wasn't that puzzling). I calculated the position of gz, but while the icon on the map put it in one location, my gps resolutely pointed me elsewhere. Location B seemed much more likely but there was a great deal of activity around and I opted to try again another day.
Today, during a break from a rather boring meeting, I messaged the CO for clarification on the location. An impressively quick response confirmed that I should be trusting the gps (trusting technology - what could possibly go wrong? ). Once the meeting fiiiiinally wrapped up, I headed straight for gz and made a quick find. Afterwards I went into the courtyard of ANU House and admired the Ginkgo biloba's (Maidenhair Trees). Again .

Tftc. Mrs jaybeem worked this out in minutes and added the new waypoint for me to do a drive by find. Last time we were here was in 2015 when my daughter got married here. Great memories and great little kids cache.
Found with Coybear2000. We were at a function here and during a break in the proceedings C looked at this puzzle and soon had worked out the new co-ords. As we were leaving we went for the find. Once at GZ, which was on our way to the car, we had CIH after a brief search. TFTC.
At a function today at ANU House with Trodectus. Looked at iPhone and saw close cache. During break, got info required and worked out GZ. After function, headed to GZ and quickly had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Quick find with careful reading. Ok at 11pm. Might be hard at busier time. SL. Tftc.
Found with nissan 65. Here in Canberra for a few days caching. Thanks for the cache . Took a while to locate.
I had a DNF here four years ago. Today Decrypter and I returned for another attempt and this time found the cache. I had searched that spot last visit, but obviously not well enough. Nice to finally change to . TFTC Flintstone's.
Initially I thought it could not possibly be hidden in such a conspicuous place, but then realised I'd gone too far. On approaching GZ I looked at a number of possibilities, however vague, until I decided on one to actually look at, best done with fingers. On my second attempt I found it, intricately hidden and longer to retrieve than I'd hoped. Replaced in the same place but not as deep.
Yes I played Pokemon, biding my time for the time to strike (can confirm a good number of Magikarp - another few steps closer to my second Gyarados). Could have been a different story if there were cameras watching.

I'd solved this one at home, and had looked for this little blighter over the past two days while we stayed nearby. On the night before we were due to leave, I messaged Flintstone's to confirm where I hoped it was. Thankfully he got back to me really quickly as we were enjoying everything about The Fellows. After dinner, I went out one last time and soon put my hand on it after pretending to tie some velcro shoes. Thanks for your quick response, Flintstone's, and the fun cache.
Talk about muggle central! I did all of the suggesting stalling tactics but wasn't until I was bold that I finally spotted it
Picked this one up on a quiet Sunday night walk around ANU campus with AngelG27. It was great to venture out of my little science building bubble and get to know more of the campus. Luckily I wasn't so sleepy and was able to zero in quickly. The late hour suited a nocturnal creature like myself, making the find easier with few muggles about TFTC

Having easily solved this recently, I took the opportunity before today's caching mission to grab this one. This took a few minutes to find. I did try the right spot by touch first but didn't notice the cache. So wandered around a bit before returning for a visual look and spotted the cache. TFTC.

This was the second of 3 finds for the evening.
At first I had entered the coordinates into my GPS wrong, and spent a good amount of time looking under a green chair. After I reached GZ, it was found after a few minutes of searching.

I signed spot 18 meaning that this log is now half full. Cache is in otherwise good condition. Thanks for a fun walk around the building.
Out with dty73 to collect a few of the caches in this area. Was able to find a park very close and with no one around on a colder night a small search soon had d73 with the cache located. With the cache safely returned we took a little look inside before returning to the car and with all the caches we wanted to do found, time to return home. Thanks for the cache Flinstone's!
Out an event nearby with Aquilus1 and decided to pick up a few caches.
Last one for the night, so thought we would stop by to check it out. There was absolutely no one about so with a quick search it was found. Hated the spider webs, but braved them anyway. As it was still clear, we decided to have a look inside as we had never been here before. Nice area, except I jumped when A1 said someone was watching us and it was just a bloody statue. Thursday 2 February 2017 - a hot overcast day and a perfect evening for a walk around the ANU campus. Found 2 of 3 caches - 1 mystery and 1 multi cache but sadly not this mystery. With few muggles around we looked, and looked, and looked again for way too long. We will be back.
So this little one has been a nemesis cache of mine for about 18 months or so. I come to ANU a couple of times a year for intensive courses, and stay nearby. Working out the info for this was easy enough, but after almost daily checks everytime I am here, I haven't been able to come up with the goods. But this afternoon that all changed. After having to spend about 20 minutes waiting for gaps in people, doing a little poking here and there, I eventually spotted this little bligher! A good feeling to finally have this one marked off! TFTC
My technique for finding this cache? Pretending to play Pokemon Go This game has made it much more acceptable to be standing in random places! As I do actually play, I also caught several Magikarp in the courtyard while waiting for the area to be clear. Found during a quiet moment during a day long function at ANU. TFTC!
I'd done the necessary research ages ago, visited GZ, and even guessed where the cache was. The only problem was getting to it without being observed, with the constant flow of muggles from all directions. What a awful location at which to try and be stealthy.
I was back in the area today for a flashmob event, and the constant downpour of rain seemed like an ideal opportunity to try again. So I rolled up to GZ, only to be greeted with the sight of a security guard at the gate. After a brief pause for a facepalm, I sat in the car and waited, waited, until the guard got into their car and drove off.
After that, the area was as deserted as I'd hoped, and it was a quick retrieve and sign! Almost an anticlimax really...

With eldest geokid performing at the nearby eisteddfod, youngets geokid and I took the chance to grab some caches.
Worked out GZ and thought early on a Sunday would be a great time, but sadly Muggles abounded. Tried filling water bottles, making pretend phone calls and doing up shoe laces but sadly cache didn't want to be found.

My second mystery today. Wow! After googling and doing my computations, I went to GZ and immediately zoomed in on the right place. I had to go down and look for a lost item, though, before I spotted the nano.
Thanks to Flintsone's again

F(H)ound it!
Solved and found while ago (a month perhaps). I can't remember when and I forgot to log online.
But I DID find it and signed.
It was after having a couple of refreshments with an old friend nearby. He and the Ridgeo-pup helped supply the required excuse to be lingering in the area. Thanks for the cache Flintstone's

After returning the kayak to a friend, having spent a weekend of water-based caches, this was on my way home, would fill a gap in my D/T challenge and was dry. Location was quiet, due to this time of year, Sunday night and Valentine's Day...good combinations for a muggle-free search. Took a few minutes, then zoned in on the right spot. Replaced after a 30 sec wait for the only muggles in sight to walk past. TFTC Flintstone's. Yabba Dabba Doo
As I'm staying at University House for my visit to Canberra this one was a definitive must. Question was no prob, of course. The cache itself was retrieved upon the 2nd try - thanks to the hint. TFTC
First time in a while that I have had some time to do some caching. Had the final for this one calculated for a while. A quick find. Thanks Flintstones.
With the day's proceeding completed, it was time for a quick walk to work off the excesses of lunch before replacing them with the excesses of dinner.
I'd solved this one some time ago and even had a couple of unsuccessful searches on previous trips up this way. This afternoon, I was determined to find it and finally did at 17:45 after a short search, well today at least, at a location that I always figured that it would be. It looks like I probably overthought the hide a bit those other times. D'oh!
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks (at last) Flintstone's.

Solved this easy puzzle aaages ago and have been waiting for the best moment to make the nab.
So today, it was decided hypohippo, AngelG27 and myself would swing by this one to make it find number 4999 and then make the 5000 milestone with me after that
When we arrived at GZ it was muggle free-for the entire time we made the find, sign and stash! [^][^][^] I showed young hypohippo how to easily extract these particular logs without tweezers by using the magnetic base-well he is visiting a university of higher learning after all
Thanks for the neat puzzle and hide, Flintstones!

I found this before the event, so I was first to sign the clean replacement log which was nice
As promised I made my way over here after it was confirmed replaced, and made a fairly easy hide with no muggles around! Thanks for the little puzzle, and the cache that was in perfect condition.

Found with Specimen X and AngelG27 after the Springbank Island Preview event. Specimen X needed one more cache before grabbing her #5000, and this one was close by to where we needed to be. I have done a few chess competitions here now, so it was great to finally put my name on the log. Thanks Flintstone's for this neat puzzle cache
Has the owner done maintenance on this cache yet? I noticed people were having trouble reaching it a while ago but no maintenance log from the owner. Just checking before I make my way over here soon.
EDIT: Thanks for the quick reply Looking forward to checking it out

Sorry for the delayed maintenance log, I was traveling and away from my computer.
So we had a lovely couple days in the actual ANU house (my first time staying in here) so the best time to deal with the recent loss of this one. I placed a new nano Cache at the same location just at a slightly different spot to before. I have updated the hint a bit to make the grap easier. It might still be challanging if it is a busy time but it will reduce the searching hopefully a fair bit and end up causing less suspicion overall.
So cache is back with new log all good. Thanks again to Cankid who offered and even placed a new cache which somehow disappiered in days if I understand right. Very strange since this one was fine till it got lost by fumble

The third find of the day while collecting a few around the ANU area. I had solved this puzzle quite some time ago but had left finding it until today. I arrived at GZ and began my search. The GPS was pretty jumpy but I eventually figured out where it had to be. I then read some previous logs and saw that it had fallen into an unreachable spot. There weren't many people around so I tried to retrieve the container as best as I could. I had no luck, my fingers weren't long enough to reach it. It was lucky the CO was so kind and let me log the find anyway. TFTC and letting me log Flintstone's, I hope this one comes back soon!
Aaaarrrgghhh ...
Dropped this one the other day and it became unreachable. We went back after midnight to try and retrieve it but no luck. Still a surprising number of muggles. Flinstone's has kindly allowed us to log a find. Many many thanks

Well yes I found it (I even have a photo) but a muggle surprised me while I was getting it - I could just reach it with the tips if my fingers - and I dropped it. It is now unreachable without a tool of some kind. I have tried to retrieve it between muggles but you can't really poke around with tools with all the muggle traffic. I'll come back late tonight and try to recover it.
Very sorry

I was here a while ago with TaurusSix and try as I might I could not see a cache. I've since read it was not where it was supposed to be so don't feel so bad about missing it.
It was a cold and wet day today. I thought this might keep the muggle density down. It did except for one muggle that kept walking in and out. I took photos of the courtyard. I saw it long before I could get it. My cold fingers and the position it was in made it difficult. But once I had the cache the feeling of satisfaction was good.

Seeing as we were at ANU we thought we would give this a try. It is a lovely building and we were glad for the impetus to visit. There weren't too many people about luckily but it still required a spotter to keep a wary eye out. Initial searches yielded nothing. As did more thorough searching... We spent quite some time considering the options but our spidey-senses were tingling that it *had* to be there. Finally after checking for the umpteenth time, Loki finally put her fingers on it. I should really start caching with a mirror. Thanks Flintstone's
Well, this took a while to cross off my solved but not found list! The puzzle was solved easily and ages ago, but when I finally got around to having a look for it, I could not lay a hand on it. I had a fairly good idea where it should be given the previous logs, but a combo of too many muggles and running out of excuses to hang around meant I gave it a miss, but put it in my watch list.
By last week, I had forgotten it was on my list so I was excited to see the log from KittyKatch land in my inbox. I went back for another look, but still no luck. So I did the PAF option and finally laid my hand on it this evening! Phew! SL.
This was definitely a cache to collect with a lookout - geoman doubled as driver and lookout . There was a lot of "talking" on the phone, implied waiting for friends, and sips of water to cover the various searching events!
Thanks for the cache!

This cache has been sitting in my "solved puzzles" list waiting to be used as an emergency find. Tonight was the emergency since my car was in for servicing and they needed to keep it overnight.
After trivia in the Fellows Bar, I stopped by here to make a quick grab. Signed the log and spent ages trying to get the log sheet rolled up enough to get it back in. Finally got it and returned the cache.
Interestingly, one of the questions in trivia tonight was about the Flintstones' fellow Hanna Barbera characters - the Jetsons.
