While camping at Pottsville, my son mazza151, my daughter pinkypie05 and myself decided to find a few caches. We found the cache but it was so rusted we couldn’t open it. I tried to jimmy it open but a bit of the rusted part started to lift up a bit so I left it. Sent a photo to the CO. TFTC!

08-Nov-17
There was lots of rain today. I got to GZ and it started to rain heavily. I was beginning to despair with all the rocks here but checked out an earlier photo which helped me out. Howver the cache was rusted closed and I couldn't open it to sign it. I took a photo in case the CO wants to see proof.
It was a great spot here and one that I'd like to visit on a sunnier day!

09-Aug-17
Out and about with geo friends Rusty85, DiamonJs, joojoo57 and Aussie Liahona today where we took the nice path route out to the breakwall and pleased to have the whole area to ourselves so we could begin our search muggle free.
The cache was found rather quickly as we were lucky enough to have had a previous finder with us.
Thanks LCBAILS for the sneaky hide and spot on co-ords & TFTC Smile

(Please note that log book needs replacing)

Found it but tin has rusted and log too wet to write on. This was our second attempt. In summer we were confronted by a python and a Goanna so left it alone

Beautiful day out! Cache a bit out in the open so now hidden a bit more. The log is very soggy but could still sign it.

11-Mar-17
Easy find . Lovely walk thru to the wall
TFTC

26-Feb-17
Was a bit tricky as the sign is no longer there so that threw us off track a little. It's a well hidden little cache. Beautiful spot, we've lived in the area for 5 years and this is our first time here... so TFTC, making us us find new places close to home Smile

Found replacement temp cache at GZ. Lovely little spot for a swim. Hope to came back another time so if a find on the replacement cache is not good enough we will try again for the COs permanent cache next time.

08-Jan-17
Thanks for the temporary cache!

Definitely no sign here. Checked the rocks to no avail, so left a temporary replacement cache at GZ (green eclipse tin with log paper), on North side, near a tuft of grass under some rocks (see pics for exact spot). Hope this will do until CO can replace! Thanks for bringing us here

31-Dec-16
T-Tech and I have been staying at Cabarita Beach for a few days for our son's wedding, and it has been very busy with visitors coming and going, but finally today we can go geocaching! We took a run south to Ocean Shores, then sped up the freeway north to Chinderah and Fingal Head, then out via the old road to Duranbah. A fun outing, which gave us 18 finds and 2 DNFs.

This was a very busy place today and we considered ourselves extremely lucky to nab a parking space as someone else was leaving it! The walk to GZ was easily done, and then I just loved the beach area, but there were so many people here. Up on the wall we went to search for the cache, but despite giving it a long go, we didn't get the find Sad

10-Nov-16
In Brunswick Heads for a couple of days, had better chase a few caches while in the area. Picked out a route, and headed off into Mullumimby, Ocean Shores and Bruns....,

Last cache for the day, have a swim then a drink at the country club.

No luck with the find, agree with a previous logger, the sign is gone, looks like 'landscaping' has changed. time for CO intervention

25-Sep-16
My daughter's studying abroad in Australia for a semester, and I came over from the US to share spring break with her. We had an epic roadtrip from the Sunshine Coast down to Sydney and back, with great geocaches serving as our tour guide.

This has to be our best DNF ever! We enjoyed the coastal rainforest, beginning with the drive to parking and then on the hike to the jetty. There was no cache to be found, and no sign, but we were there more for the scenery than for the cache. Our reward for coming here: watching humpback whales cavort offshore within easy view. That was a once in a lifetime experience. We're glad we came here.

Seems the council is doing some rebuilding of the breakwall. They've torn up the sign. Added a lot of rocks. Either archive this or find the cache and bring it in for safekeeping until they've finished working.
Sorry.

SeaReason and I found this little hide on a day trip during a stay at Burringbar Sports Club. I've always liked the north wall at Brunswick, but it was much nicer thirty years ago, when you could drive right out to the start of the wall— that's progress. Took nothing, left nothing. All in good nick. Thanks to LCBAILS.

20-Jan-16
Checked out this one awhile ago and the amount of DNFs. After myself and geopartner searched for well over half an hour in every spot possible we also agreed that this cache is Missing. I have contacted the CO and hoping they are ok with us leaving a temporary cache at the GZ until they have the chance to investigate and replace with their own container (or leave this if desired)
We have left a Eclipse Container spray painted black hidden under a large rock at GZ hidden by more rocks. Hope this serves as an ok temporary cache.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Well worth the trip out here!

19-Jan-16
We looked for about half a hour and came up empty. There was a girl taking lots of selfies on her phone near us but did not even take any notice of what we were doing.
We had a idea what the cache might be. I hope it has not been muggled as it is a nice walk out here. We seen two bush turkeys on the walk out here.

18-Nov-15
Got there ok but large Python and goanna nearby so left it to them

12-Oct-15
Searched for about an hour by unfortunately could not find this cache. There are loads of hidey spots that it could be though.

11-Oct-15

Another day out and about find a cache for the day. Smile
A short walk to this one but a long time looking. Razz
A systematic search eventually revealed the cache. Big Grin
Everything is dry and in good condition. Though the zip lock bag around everything is showing some wear and tear. Wink Otherwise all dry inside. Big Grin
Thanks for the cache.

25-Jan-15
This was the first of my DNF for today. I spent about 30mins in the heat trying to find it. GPS was jumping around all over the place. Looked in some likely spots but nothing found.

20-Jan-15
TFTC. great spot with nice walk to get there. Coords very accurate making for an easy find.

13-Jan-15
Have been camping at massy green camping ground for 18 years and was just introduced to geocaching, so I thought I would have a look while I was down here camping. This is my favourite holiday location I've ever been to. Great spot on the north wall couldn't have picked a better spot if I tried!!!

23-Dec-14
Really easy to find. Jumped right out at us. But seriously, it took a while to find. Tftc. Great spot

03-Dec-14
There was no one around so it made it easy to have a good hunt! This was a fairly tricky cache to find, you need to be in the right angle to work it out! The zippo bag is deteriorating and will need to be replaced soon. TFTC

10-Nov-14
Saw two bush turkeys chasing each other on the trail and a kookaburra too. Gee this a nice spot! TFTC. Found with Yelsgnik

03-Nov-14
I have never driven to the end of the road even though my brother has lived at the other end for about 30 years!! I was down to meet my new great nephew but received a message that he was still asleep and to come half an hour later. Just enough time to finally find this one.
I'm glad that I didn't read the logs about brown snakes before heading out. It always pays to be on the lookout for snakes but if we worry too much about them we would never go anywhere at the beach or bush. This took a while but as there was no one around I could search without worrying about looking silly. It was low tide and I realised at high tide this would be more difficult. Thanks LCBAILS for taking me to the end of the road.

01-Nov-14
Well this was an adventure and a half.

The walk there was great, nothing out of the ordinary. However arriving out of the trees near GZ it was blowing a gale.

There was a dip in the dunes we had to cross and the sand was blowing that fast it stung and we had to almost close our eyes to make it across. Anth was wearing thongs and one disappeared into the sand with one step. He then had to crouch down in the full fury of the sand blow and with closed eyes and mouth, dig around to find it. Meanwhile Sal's long hair is whipping around stinging her face at the same time.

Number one son however is loving it and is leaning into the wind as it holds him up.
We finally make it through to GZ and our shirts are being blown up over our heads as we scramble around the rocks looking.
Anth's $600 prescription sunnies are caught by the wind and go sailing off 20m out into the water... Noooooooo. He and number one son climb down and start to try and find them as the waves roll in. Anth spots them and luckily they have washed in and avoided landing on the rocks. So lucky.

We continue a systematic search for the cache and Anth soon spots the hiding place. Yay. Log signed, let's get out of here.. Hehhe. Back through the sand blow we go and once through to the quiet of the trees we realise we have sand in our hair, eyes, eyebrows everywhere... Lol... What a tough 15 minutes that was!

Thanks for placing the 710th cache that we have found so far LCBAILS! Smile

Nice area and a beautiful day TFTC

24-Jul-14
Too many rocks. Muggle photo shoot on the beach was more interesting. Fashion shoot won out over rock hunt. Try another day.

TFTC , approached from the bottom up . I would not do this one in summer ! A great day on the coast to GC

07-Jun-14
TFTC, nice walk this one. Find was a little tricky but got there in the end thanks to geopop!

18-May-14
I was walking along the track with hesitation. No, not the fact that there could have been dog eating sized pythons or deadly thick as your arm brownies..... but the recent spate of did not finds on this one. You see, Astro hates rocks. A lot. Read

I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, I hate rocks, Razz

However, I need not have worried. I meat some awesome muggles about 45m from GZ. They were nice and warned me of a thick as your arm type browny (see!).

As they were nice Wink we talked and I let them in on the secret of caching. Plus I knew I could use some help here too. So there it was. A short Intro to Geocaching 101 on the beach occurred. And off we went towards GZ. I read and reread the hint, and we zoned in on GZ.

Look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, .......

Hey!

I turned around. Jason had spotted a UPR (un-natural pile of rocks). Astro and the young Sapphire came over. Jason kindly did the mature thing and left the cache in situ for us all to see the hide. I tell you, he is a born natural cacher. Thanks mate.

Jason extracted the treasure and we examined the contents. The log was duly signed. Cache 1 for Team Sapphire. It's not often this happens but when it does it sort of feels like you've been there for the birth of a child. Goose Bumps!!

Thanks to LCBAILS and clear skies from TeamAstro. Pic attached.

I looked at the previous logs and knew that this one was going to be a challenge. Even if I didn't find the cache I could see that it was a great spot to visit and take some photographs.

There were 5 DNF's prior to my visit but I recognised a few of the name of previous finders so could alway PAF. (phone a friend)

I had a hint from Mr Herbz when I arrived but the cache was proving to be a bit of a proverbial needle in a rocky haystack. I took a break from searching for a bit and took some photos of the water and rocks with a variable neutral density filter on my camera to try and blur the motion of the water. It worked pretty well and made for some interesting shots.

After a bit more searching I called Mr Herbz and a few more hints later the cache was in hand.

Thanks for the cache LCBAILS. A great spot to visit. Cheers!!

Find number 1875.... so here is something you didn't know (or maybe did know) about 1875...... On the 3rd of September 1875, Ferdinand Porsche was born. He was an automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche car company. He is best known for creating the first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle (Lohner-Porsche), the Volkswagen Beetle, the Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK, several other important developments and Porsche automobiles. In addition, Porsche designed the 1923 Benz Tropfenwagen, which was the first race car with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout.

Nyssaflutterby and I were driving about the area and chose to attack this one. Driving the dirt road was a bit of fun until we pared and set off on foot towards the wall and it's walk. Along the way Nyssa was trying to get some photos of assorted birds and there were a few about. We managed to not see anyone until we got to the rocks. The view here was spectacular. Such clear blue water stretching out, a brisk breeze blowing, long white sandy beach and a few muggles playing across the creek.

We walked the wall and having read the cache page and noting the previous DNFs we started the hunt. It didn't take long, maybe the third place I looked and the cache was in hand. Co-ords good, hint matches, no reason this one needs any maintenance. I grabbed a TB and after replacing, we wandered to the end of the wall to watch the waves and tide roll in. A wonderful spot to visit on a Sunday afternoon. TFTC LCBAILS Smile

18-Aug-13
I do love this area! I have wandered down this path a couple of times before on the hunt for feathered friends. Today however I was on the hunt for a cache in the company of Captain Terror. We ambled along the sandy track and popped out at the start of the wall. A rock hop, skip and a jump later we were at GZ. It didn't take long at all until the Captain had the cache in hand.

TFTC LCBAILS Big Grin

Bit tricky

24-Jun-13
Probably needs maintenance, given the number of "did not find's" recently

23-Jun-13
We were definitely in the right spot, and found what seemed to be the correct location for the cache, based on the hint, but nothing there. Given this is the third DFI in a row, perhaps it has been taken??

17-May-13
Didn't find but what a beautiful spot. Definitely worth the walk.

17-May-13
Are you sure it is still there? Will try again if someone else finds it.

Our fastest find so far!!!! Could just be cause we spent a week in Brunswick to go to the bluesfest and still on a high. Left a travel bug that we picked up at natural arch.

19-Feb-13
Looked a long time, even thought we found the right hole with rocks etc. Beautiful day to geocache though.

06-Jan-13
Last day in Australia today so headed to the sea. Had a long day at the awesome beach across the river but wanted to head over to the nature reserve for a looksy. The kids were pretty tired so didn't spend too much time looking for cache Lots of rocks to check out! Did get to see a python though so all good!

26-Dec-12
Spent a long time looking for this one without any luck.

20-Oct-12
Well, talk about a rock and a hard place. Needed the hint for this one although it wasn't really a lot of use in the end. Mrs Herbz came up with goods more by chance than by design though. Nice hide and a great spot. TFTC

04-Oct-12
The geocrew rode down from New Brighton for an early morning search but nothing was found after 20 minutes of looking and widening out the area by at least 10m. I'll have another crack at it later in the year. Definietly the quiet side of the river!

25-Sep-12
We can confirm that this one is still there. It took a while but after a bit of scrambling we found its hidey-hole. We kayaked over from the campsite across the river and really enjoyed exploring the little beach on the south side.
TFTC LCBAILS, great place to discover! Smile

25-Aug-12
Went to ground zero and found swag sitting on the rocks near gz. Read the hints and saw what thought To be the hiding spot. Had a good look around but did not find anything. Beautiful spot, beautiful day so. All was not wasted. I will check this log again to see if it had been juggled or I just looked in the wrong spot. Hope I was wrong so I can come find it.

12-Aug-12
Very windy day at Brunswick. Found a geocoin.

02-Aug-12
We placed a geo coin in cache, dried cache out as it was very wet. The coin was brought with us from England, it depicts the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.

Over here for a play on the river beach, nice to be able to sit on the sand under the trees Smile Found the cache after a bit of a search through the rocks, thanks!

27-Jan-12
Couldn't have picked a worse day to go caching. Brunswick was horrible today. Wet with a roaring easterly breezy. Lots of flotsam and jetsam heading out to sea today after the big rains earlier this week. Even the road in was in bad shape.

The most amazing part of the trip was I wasn't the only one stupid enough to be out. There were another couple, not geocachers, armed with cameras and wet weather gear walking along the tracks.

Glad I found the cache quickly, then hightailed it back to the car. Dropped Travel Ingot Geocoin and grabbed another from the cache.

Would be a great spot to visit on a nice day.

Thanks

TFTC. Been here many times before I discovered caching. Left a TB with a quilting mission that I could not properly fulfill. Take care of the tool - my first TB find that I went fairly far off track to find! Happy Australia Day all.

I was in Brunswick today and had a look for what caches were around and thus one was on top of the list. When I looked closer at it, I realised we had already done this cache. We did this cache on the 8th on a very windy Sunday afternoon. He had the beach to ourselves to it was a nice easy find.

The last day of our holidays began with Miss Freak again behind the wheel building up her hours - and a chance to visit a cache or two (including our own). My initial thoughts on this one were to park near the highway but Google and Ms Freak soon put me right.

We made our way to the carpark and then enjoyed the walk along the track arriving at the wall. With hint in mind, Mr, Miss and Master Freak set about racing to find the cache. Its was Miss Freak's turn to score a win - fitting as its probably the first cache she's visited with us for many a year.

We signed the log and enjoyed the views and vowed to return for a swim on this side of the river next time we're here.

Thanks for the cache.
