Last time I looked for it, it was gone. Since then I had the sad blue face among the other yellow happy smiles. With some time after a drop off in Ruby Bay, I decided to look again for this one. No problems this time, although I started looking too high and hence it took a bit longer than needed. But eventually found, signed and replaced.

I'm getting plenty of exercise this weekend while partner is yacht racing. I wasn't sure if this walkway went all the way through so it's a nice surprise and my, the trees sure have grown since I last walked along the start of the track. Thanks for all the caches you have put around the 'Top of the South '

01-Oct-22

Quick find here. Thanks to the previous cacher for the replacement. It will rust eventually, but does the job in the meantime. TFTC B&W.

RG1972 was at work today, but I am in the region for a couple of days longer so I decided to devote the whole day to geocaching adventures.
I had my bike in the ute, so settled on taking a few rides around Rough Island, Rabbit Island and Mapua as well as a few short walks in between. Some park and grabs near the heavy traffic as well. Finally ended up close to Tasman township before calling it a day. 24 finds for the day, it was good fun. Thanks all.

I was hoping for three finds this afternoon, this is one of the few areas that offer three close caches.
I have been down this track a couple of times before, both times to find caches. This little green icon had been in a sea of yellow for much too long.
I read the previous two logs while sitting in the car before starting on the track, so I decided to rattle around in the car and put a replacement cache here if I could not find it.
I wandered past the neighbouring gate and like others before me I wondered what the gates and entrances are and if they are ever used.
Like the others before me I could not spot this 'easy' find that every one else talked of. So I left a replacement cache.
If this is not okay please feel free to delete my log.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Today was my last cyclocaching day in Mapua so after riding down the hill from town it was time to ride up the Dominion Flats/Seaton Valley/Chaytor Track seeking as many of the caches there as I could.

I checked all 3 rails but could not find anything of caching interest. Checked previous log and found that was a DNF. Sad Time to move on.

19-Sep-19
I know this one should be an easy find, not for me unfortunately.
Had a look initially but couldn't spot anything, went up closer and investigated the fence a bit more but felt suspicious with the big window of the building up the hill.
So I gave up, had another quick look when walking back but couldn't find it.

In a hurry now that I've read the nearby event cache page, it's been underway for over an hour now. There was some UB40 tunes blasting from the nearby residents so I was stealthy here. T F T C b&w

I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I could have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

Log was a little damp but managed to write on it. Dropped in a spare log in a bag in case it absorbs more water, had run out of the desiccant sachets but otherwise cache all safe and sound and thoroughly enjoying the walk. TFTC

The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara and I are exploring the Tasman region again. We were here for the GIFF evening at Mapua on Saturday. Today its Mapua to Motueka in Toby so lets GO!!
After bagging the multi, we walked straight past our bikes and walked along here.
Another one snagged and tagged along this walkway. Cheers
There was an amazing driveway built between a paddock and the cycleway?? Why?? We could not wor it out.

21-Jan-18
Taybeedragon and I are heading to Motueka via the backroads after spending last night at the 2016/2017 Geocaching International Film Festival in Mapua last night. Or in this case travelling via the cycleways. Exccept that we are walking. Anyway, straightforward find here. What's with that driveway? Someone built a nice driveway from the back of their section onto the cycleway. Did that think this was a little-used road they could make use of?

01-Jan-18
Nice evening walk with the dogs. Had to backtrack slightly as phone wasn’t polling properly. Good to find it! Thanks.

Finally, the day has come and I have arrived to New Zealand. This three week long trip has been planned for more than 6 months. First of all, I was going to visit my daughter and her boyfriend, who has been on the islands for almost one year, next was to see as much as possible of both North and South islands. My daughter had done a day to day planning on where to go and what to see. This trip was not planned as a Geocaching trip, but we should definitely search for some caches all over the islands.

Day 9. Motueka

In the afternoon, we took a short walk around I the neighborhood to look for some hidden boxes. This one was easy to find. Logged together with Klövsson and Familjenloov. Tftc

We have been meaning to head down this track for a while so we waited until it was 27 degrees and headed down. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache. We didn't see the slim porker on the way down but there he was running about on the return. Don't think he gets many visitors.

08-Jan-16
walked right to this one, the pig is still near

12-Nov-15
A few quick finds meant I still had time on my side before I needed to head back to Nelson, so I decided to complete the short Seaton Valley Walkway series.

A quick find for number two of three on the track, which is lovely for those whose properties adjoin the track and for us GCers.

#943

03-Oct-15
It was visable from the track so hid it back a bit. TFTC.

21-Jun-14
#7651. There life style block density in these parts is quite high; some good views from these low hills. TFTC.

21-Jun-14
It was still a bit nippy while we walked as the sun was reluctant to make an appearance and there were a few spits of rain to hurry us along.
A dog in a nearby property was pretty upset by us and barked and barked and barked while we walked along "his" boundary fence. And there was a repeat performance on our return. So much for the peace and quiet of the country side. TFTC.

01-Jun-14
Quick find on this neat walkway. TFTC

21-Mar-14
With a bit of a break between shifts for Hazedarus we had time for a short walk, only time for two of these caches unfortunately but we will return for the other. I wonder if any of the locals will make use of the gates provided. TFTC.

21-Mar-14
With some time to kill we thought it a nice idea to investigate the track that goes nowhere. Just 2 out of 3 so we'll be back. Those gates are most interesting. TFTC

14-Mar-14
Easy find. Nice little trail this, especially on the bike. Cheers!!

21-Jan-14
Had to look after my nieces that live just up the road. They didn't even know about this nice walking track. Seems strange that great effort has been made (and expense) creating the track but it is not maintained. Hope it is soon or weeds and blackberry will become the bosses. Said gidday to the sweet piggy. Thanks for bringing us here.

23-Sep-13
A nice walk before I fell in the swamp

21-Aug-13
Yay another streak day done and a bonus was at night in the rain. Never been this far along here before but the rest will have to wait.Maybe two more trips to finally get to the other end.Love the short walk.TFTC

03-Aug-13
Streaking today for a different goal and that is to achieve 30 in a day for my MGSc qualification. Mrs M in a weak moment agreed to navigate me around a pre-planned route and I would have to say without her assistance I would probably still be out there. Left home at 12:30 pm and back again at 5:00 pm with 29 under the belt and with #30 planned to be a night time FDF of The Streak #3 which is just 100m from home. Fingers crossed that doesn’t go belly up. Find #21. TFTC

01-May-13
Beautifull cache row, a pretty nice walk for this sunny day even if the piggs no more arent there Wink thanks for the cache

02-Mar-13
Today I Went for the 100 caches in 1 day. With a very early morning and just breaking even at lunch time with 50, it looked like it was going to be 12am to 12pm. But after a move out of the city they started to speed up, and i managed to grab the last at 20:30 with 106!! Thanks everyone for the caches that they have placed, from the ones that have been planed for months to the park and grabs Smile

No problems with this one either as we walked along a previously unknown walkway. Yes, we did notice all the gates. And a cache as well. Took coin. Thanks.

24-Nov-11
Nice One!!!!!!!!!Number 2 find at #2 location. Local pig came down to see what was going on and then followed me down the track with a converstaion of grunts that I could not understand. Somewhat similar to some of the recent puzzles. Much fun! Thanks

24-Nov-11
Really enjoyed this evening stroll and no sign of USAkiwi's new friend as we went past and signed log. BUT on heading back to the cache mobile it did turn up and gave Niteowlnz a good wake up call Smile TFTC

24-Nov-11
A lovely evening stroll and interesting seeing these propertie from a different vantage point !!! signed log thanks for the cache Smile

21-Nov-11
Nice to see more sections of this walkway slowly opening up. Funny how a 'new' walkway can have some sections that are almost overgrown. It gave an interesting perspective on some of the nearby properties too. TFTC, Biggles (apologies for the cut and paste log on these 3 caches)

20-Nov-11
FTF! By the time Mr and Mrs KE caught up with the kids and dog the cache had been found, logged and put back. Some nice properties along here. TFTC
