Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 19: Exploring Christchurch.A quick trad on the way to the next challenge. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, gtrcnz tn koe~~
It was lovely and quiet along the mountain bike trail today - we could take our time. We approached GZ, our GPSr's indicating different locations - Posums came up trumps here. Found during the Dunedin Mega Tour by Tiz13 and Snips and Co and accompanied by Posums today. Thanks for the cache gtrcnz
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay.Im staying at the old Offices Mess building at the old Airforce Base and it is a wonderful old building.Day 3 begins so lets go find a few more caches.I met Tiz13 at the airport as they happened to be on the same flight over and we organised a day out after I missed their message yesterday so the plan was to meet up at the event near the Botanical Gardens. So Snips and Co, Tiz13 and me, Posums set out for a fun day out with plenty of laughs along the way and of course a few caches as well. After a bit of inner city caching it was time to hit the burbs for a bit more fun.We made our way up north to Spencer Park for a challenge cache and any others we could come across. After hitting the trails on foot we made our way cross country to this one.I tripped on some long grass and managed to stay upright only to watch Tiz face plant the pine needles. Thanks gtrcnz TFTC.
Tiz13 Snips and Co and Possums have meandered over the ocean to NZ (from Australia) for some pre Dunedin Mega shenanigans. We found this cache along our journey, after l graciously triped over .. but all is good, no injuries apart, my pride..
Out today with lytteltonwitch getting some caches un the area. Stopped to find this one for another smile. Thanks for the cache gtrcnz.
Had a short stroll to gz. Best cache I had found all day. Very exposed so it now has some cammo on top of it. TFTC
We made a small journey into the south end of the forest yesterday. Today, we decided to do something similar on the north side. This was our first stop and it was a quick find. TFTC, gtrcnz.

A summertime trip to the South Island, what could be better. Day six, the final day. Having flown to Christchurch and then driven to Timaru on day one, and cached around Timaru on day two, and back up to Christchurch to see a band play on day three, and then up to Kaikoura to see the same band play again on day four, and cache-laxed in Kaikoura on day five, it was time to make my way back to Christchurch airport. Along the way I'll be looking for Geocaches, and here's one I found. Having headed in here to find another cache, I may (or may not) have got lost trying to get back to my car. I dod however find this cache, all good here. --- Thanks to gtrcnz for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. [DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
I was the the forest doing the quicker of the two multis and since I was near here I did the necessary detour. The cache container was quite visible so I recovered it better. It is now dry inside and the log sheet has dried out. Thanks for placing it.
Awesome find, the story in the note definitely helps. The paper is a little wet but still ok
Down from Whangarei for a few days visiting family and had to take the opportunity to grab a few caches as and when the chance presented itself. This avo, the other half took the credit card on a trip to town, so I headed in the other direction for a proper caching jaunt.A short walk in the forest, brought me to this one where the cache was soon located, log signed and replaced safe and secure as found. Our final afternoon in NZ after a magnificent 15 day trip. Enjoyed a stroll around the area to collect the last few local geos. TFTC
Needed this one to fill my date grid. Container was exposed and full of water. Did a bit of a dry-out and hid under some natural camouflage.
Cache 1436 Heading to Christchurch for a geocaching holiday this week where I’m targeting hidden days/months and a few D/T and to sign challenge caches. This cache was none of the above I used it as a trail marker to head in towards the challenge cache and I couldn’t not just sign it on the way past, cache and log are a bit damp but log is still writable T4TC
Called here on a walk in the area this afternoon - a quick find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
Found it. There's a little bit of water in it. I dried it out as much as I could before replacing it
Found on a nice wee walk with my partner while out for an evening drive.
All in good order- TFTC

There must be a some sun flares happening at present as the GPS had me walking around in very large circles trying to zero in of GZ but the cache was quickly found once it settled a little and I had less than 5 metres on the dial.
Thanks gtrnz

Camped nearby, so a good excuse for a walk in the woods. Came to this one via a big loop farther out. Took a little searching, but the device was pretty close so not too long. Thanks for a nice bonus for our morning walk.
Took longer than it should have. No TB in cache so previous finder must have picked it up.
Was looking at the wrong tree but will a lil help from my partner we found it, have left a friend for someone else to move on
Don't like being in a pine forest when it's windy..... But found the cache after almost being collected by a mountainbike muggle.... TFTC
Woke up early in the campsite, so headed down to the beach to check out the view. Went too far and didn't realise it was one way, but soon realised there was a cache here. Nice easy find at gz, thanks
Stoppe by Spencer park in the afternoon. We decided to stop for this one, approaching GZ, we saw a container and a pencil on the ground. No logbook, so we added one. We replaced the best we could but had no cell coverage, and therefore no access to the details. The cache is now in the first tree on the left.
Container , logbook wet ... Going next...

Day #8 of my Geotour.
On my way home later but first a whole bunch of "must do's" to find in the city and points north.
Heading towards a must do to complete my third D/T loop. Made a quick find here. Discovered the coin but must have written down the wrong code.

I never seem to find these quickly, the clue is very much open to interpretation depending on which way you approach, then suddenly I see it easily!

I think I have attempted this one before but don't see a DNF log, oh well. It was a very easy and visible find though.
Box a bit damaged but looks like logbook has been replaced and has kept dry so far.
This find marks the completion of my 6th calendar loop for "Finds for Each Day of the Year". Now I have 6 for each date and hopefully by the end of this year I'll have at least 7 for each date. And so on
Kia ora! Paldies!

Apologies to the CO.I found this cache a while ago but stopped caching for a while due to the pandemic, and this find was left as a draft on my app.TFTC
Here for two orienteering events in the forest. In fact this was very close to our start location! Quickly located thanks to the helpful hint, and it is lying rather exposed. Thanks gtrcnz.
# 9048. Decided to start the multi nearby, this one was on the way. A quicker find than I expected! All in good condition, Tftc.
Found on 14/01/2021.
Up in Christchurch doing the Southern O week Orienteering competition. Tootling around some cches whilst I'm here.
Out on the bike around the tracks - nice and hot today.

Took the longer way from other cache to this one as heading back to car. I'm exhausted with lack of sleep last night. Some of the quicker members of the group found it and put back so that those of us catching up could also located. Just as well I had my walking pole - another dune to navigate up and down.
Found on the return from the nearby FTF totally worth it and another good sized cache!
Out for a family walk, once the rain had abated. Only one I came close to passing, but still had to nip away from the clan.
