Stayed in Wagin for several days end Aug and start Sep driving around searching for orchids. Came across a made road and wondered what might be here. The road ended at what is a forgotten lookout. Whilst idly looking from the lookout and enjoying the views mentioned there has to be a cache here somewhere. On using the phone a cache is 9M away. Quickly found the cache and signed the log with the date we were here. (Sorry, forgot to log earlier so actual find date maybe day or two +/-.)TFTC Team Phyler

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 46 - Collie to Katanning via Darkan and Wagin. My big detour to get a car service begins today, so no new counties today, just a big back track to get to a dealer that will service my car before August. I did go on a few new roads so there were some caches to do, but I also did a few short side trips to get a few as well. A nice hilltop lookout to finish the caching as well. The rain had passed for the moment so it was a much nicer day than yesterday. Not knowing what was up the hill, I walked up, just in case there would not be enough room to turn the van around, but there was plenty of space. Oh well, nice walk. The lookout was amazing, the country below goes on for ages, even though the hill does not seem to be that high. As for the cache, it was a really difficult find. I looked in all sorts of pots in the five meter radius, and then had to expand a bit further before noticing a spot I had overlooked. Cache found, and I walked back to the car to finish the drive to Katanning. Thanks for the cache Team Phlyer47654.11 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 5000 Finds Achievement A#201**Albida**

WAGB23 Smile The main objective today was to head down to Wagin as that LGA has somehow escaped me on previous visits out this way! There were a number of caches to stop off at on this round trip, including this one Smile Well this was a great place to visit! Such a shame it's so forgotten, yet that fact also added to the adventure Smile The cache was tricky. Coords pointed to an obvious place... but which was not only empty but perhaps also too obvious. Given the description about it being easy, I figured it was MIA and headed up to enjoy the views. On the way back I spotted another location which got me thinking... had a poke around just on the off chance... and blow me down, there was the cache. A few meters east by my reckoning. Have a fave point for bringing me here - loved it. TFTC

On another fun geocaching adventure with woolwood9.
Most caches found today were quick finds with a few requiring some searching.

Heading towards Albany but taking the "as many geocaches as possible on the way route"
It got to 35 degrees and there was lots of dust on the side roads.

*Thanks for all the effort put into setting up this cache for us to visit!*

Down in Wagin this weekend for the marshmallows event at Lake Norring. Stopped at a number of towns on the way through to clean up new dots that have recently emerged.

Accidentally drove past the turn off before we noticed our mistake. Doubled back and headed up the hill. Took a while to locate this one. What a ripper view and cool spot. Would’ve shot past at 110kmh none the wiser without the cache. Cheers Team Phlyer! Big Grin

Using Narrogin as a base, my young geocaching buddy and I spent a lovely few days exploring the wheatbelt and all the beautiful friendly little towns along the way. What a great little spot here, and really is a hidden gem. Colourful carpets of everlastings were everywhere, and were an amazing sight. Quick find in a logical place. Thanks Team Phlyer for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

12-Oct-20
Staying in Narrogin for a few days with Gma allinaday. We had a lot of fun exploring the area and all the other little towns along the way. We found some nice historical sites where I learnt a bit about how life was a hundred odd years ago. We explored old buildings and enjoyed some long walks around lakes where I learnt a lot about salinity and what is being done to help reduce the salt on the land so more trees don't die. Thank you to all the cache owners for putting caches out for us to find.

After our Parisian trip in the first week of the Easter holidays, we (i and my husband Voske1967) went for 3 weeks to the other side of the world to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, food, landscapes and culture of Australia. Of course, geocaches were also searched for and found in Perth, Monkey Mia, Denham, Newman, Port Hedland ... . This trip downunder will stay with us for a long time! It was pretty hot in Australia for the autumn season

04-Sep-17
Also a somewhat hidden lookout. Well the road to it was a little hidden. As I drove down the highway I spotted a little narrow road near where you expect one be. I quickly turned into on a hunch luckily it lead right up to the lookout and the cache. I was thinking it was a bit of a pity that it is no longer maintained. Maybe the nearby transmissions towers have a bearing on it. Anyway the cache was a quick find then took a few short step on to the lookout it self. TFTC.

** This is a late log **

The caches I am now logging are from a day out caching with Mrs Jackylegs44. We couldn't decide which way to head, so eventually hatched a plan to do a bit of loop, seeing how far we got, aiming to pick up a few LGA's for their team along the way. All up I think we covered about 550km today, enjoying the scenery out the back of whoop whoop and collecting a small swag of smileys.

Since then, many more caches have been found and shared geocaching adventures have been enjoyed too, so it is about time that I got down to work on all those outstanding logs, albeit somewhat late.

I appreciate all the effort each of the cache owners has gone through to create and place each and every hide and I do not for one second take it for granted, I just need to get caught up so I can return to my usual style of individualized logs.

No problems finding the cache. Thanks for the smiley `Team Phyler

05-Mar-17
Quick stop on my roadtrip with Mistraluna today. Went to the lookout, always interesting when geocaching leads you to hidden spots or spots you usually would never ever end up going to because they would be considered just local knowledge. After reading the sign we decided to not interfere with the lookout marker because the 20 pounds punishment were too expensive for us Wink.
After a short search we found the cache. tftc sl tnln

Heading home after a week down south in Denmark I hatched a plan to pick some missing LGA locations along the way.

A quick find of the container in the obvious spot. Spent a few minutes taking in the views to mark a mini milestone for me.

Team Phlyer I found your cache at 2:00pm, this was the 4th of 7 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3800. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.
