Stayed at BIG4 Bellarine Holiday Park for 11 days with the Australian Deaf Caravan & Camping Group. A few of us cachers went out geocaching, and here's one we found today. Logged as Deaf Caravan Group (silence49, Lance51, Deafcat, Deafsanta, DeafVW, Codawives, and dutchaus). Thank you for placing the cache ?? suss vulture
Been a while since geocaching. It is nice to be back. Logging with our deaf geocachers. Thank you for this one

We are staying down in the area for a few days for our anniversary. We had lunch in Queenscliff then found some caches on the way to the accommodation. in Point Lonsdale. After checking in and having a bit of a rest we decided to make the most of what was left of the daylight so decided to head outfor some more caches to get our step count up! This is such a cool story. I hope we can come back here one Christmas time and see the tree lit up at night!! Co-ords calculated, we drove to the carpark point and then walked to GZ where the nicely sized cache was found and signed. No swaps made. TFTC suss vulture - GJMMelb
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Twelve: Geelong and Queenscliff(e).Weather: perfect for geocaching. Ah, that old chestnut, a multi with an ambiguous question and no checksum. I, too, took one of the questions the wrong way, but this gives you a nonsensical result and so you know youre wrong. I tried something different, and got some coordinates. Well at least theyre on dry land, but it looks like a bush bash. The geocaching.com trails map does not show a trail that takes you right to the cache. Everything inside is clean and dry, and arriving unarmed, No exchanges or deposits were made. Thanks for this multi suss vulture.
definitely got the coords wrong cuz it lead me 700 ish metres from the tree, ill keep looking and come back to the tree haha
finally found it after getting the wrong coords and having to ride 700 metres up and back. very good cache
Had old coords because I left it so long. Back to do my math and back up track. Had a hunt around (I never know which way my arrow is pouting - left or right!) soon had it in hand. Took nil, left nil. Thanks for the cache suss vulture
A day down around Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff from a chilly Ballarat, and this was the next stop.Completed a few multis today but this was the one that I transposed my numbers on. Good thing I checked after seeing my GZ, so thankfully not too much time was lost and I was soon walking the path to GZ. Cache found without problems and the log was soon sign. The back to the car and off for the next one. Thanks suss vulture...cache all good and hope all is going well.
I like a local point of interest cache. This qualifies - and there was a good pile of swag at the end too. Thanks suss vulture for this local celebration
Interesting saga re the Xmas tree, so enjoyed the information and doing the algebra. That got us some good co-ordinates, but approached from a dodgey direction. Checked our calcs. just in case we had stuffed up, and then found a better way in when putting pathways in the equation. All good at GZ as were the contents. Thanks for making us work a bit for this one suss vulture.
I had the coordinates wrong first. And searched at the wrong place. Then I re-read and added the number of letters of the two helpers (not individual number) and I got the correct coordinates. Easy find after that. Great cache. Thx
Today we found Kris Kringle on our travels. We had completed the info gathering on a previous visit and then didnt have the time to go searching. I had subsequently completed the maths at home and hadnt checked if it was still valid before we went searching at our GZthen I reread the cache page! Whoops. Maths, take 2 and soon after cache was in hand! Thanks suss vulture for being part of our geocaching fun.
Wow!! The first time I attempted this cache my math was TERRIBLE . After going back and working out the coordinates again I came up with something completely different.
Off to GZ and BOOM!! There you are . Cache is in great condition. Thanks for the hide.

Wow!! What a fabulous tree!! And it's brother near by With the necessary info gleaned yesterday, we came back today to find the presents - Kris Kringle is something else I've learned about since moving from Scotland. I was getting a bit frustrated with my, notoriously inaccurate, phone GPS going in circles so switched overlays.......... pretty sure I swore when it showed on the opposite side!! After extracting myself, it was a straight forward find!! Loved the wrapping & selection of gifts but with nothing to swap, I opted out. Many thanks
Whilst browsing some caches down the Peninsula I spotted this on the map marked with final co-ords but no sad face at which point I realised I forgot to log a DNF some time ago (late 2022 at a rough guess). B & C did what we needed to and set off for GZ. The phone kept bouncing so we searched a pretty broad area for 15+ minutes with no luck. We shall return to try again another day!
Enjoyed reading up about the local traditions, quickly put together the coordinates and headed to GZ. We took a few minutes to have a quick search but must have been the first fresh blood the mozzies had seen that day and quickly returned to the car without the cache. Next time!
Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
We luckily didn't cut across and didn't have to detour back around. We did walk back and forth searching until I found it in the spot day1976 had looked, which is why we always check where the other has searched. It happens more often than you would think!

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.
Got the required numbers at GZ, then made sure we took the road, rather thna try and cut through the school. That was well thought out. Took a bit of circle work at GZ, before we found a way in and the cache was spotted. TFTC!

I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! Before starting, I teamed up with OzHockeyChick for the day to finally finish some grave hunting in Geelong and tick off some LGA caches in Queenscliff.
We gathered the details and calculated GZ. After trying to reach it from the wrong side we soon found the right way and had the new cache in hand.
Thanks suss vulture for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Check we did, and the Doctor is right: The cache went missing in action.
We came prepared and brought a new container, complete with new swaps, logbook and pen. Let's hope it lasts!
Changed location means: new calculations are in order. So, if you have the old GZ in your solved pile, you will need to do your maths again. Sorry!

What an interesting tree! Great story and what an option for a T5 tree climb I didn’t have a ladder to hand so headed off to GZ instead.
A nice secluded spot, and a pretty good looking nook, but nothing found.
Might need to check if the cache is still there.

We were doing other caches around 9pm in the area, then drove past and saw that the Christmas tree lights were on. Had to do this cache then! Unfortunately my maths was very bad and I kept up ending in a bunch of houses. So back to the caravan we went and wrote thongs down carefully, finding the error. Back this morning and it was a quick find of the cache, which was clearly visible. We tried to hide it better, but there were limited options. Hopefully no one takes it. Thanks for the cool cache and history.
Must have written down one of the clues wrong, as I found the cache by accident. I had East coordinates correct but not South. Oh well, you get lucky sometimes. Tftc
Whilst staying in the nearby be Big 4, & the kids off doing the kids activities at the park, Geowife and I decided to get on the bikes and retrieve the required information. Once back at the park I did the necessary maths, the kids had finished their activity, so we headed to GZ...and cache was found. TFTC suss vulture
We had a very lazy Sunday and sat inside solving puzzles when we should have been outside finding caches. So we headed off to Queenscliffe for fish and chips, and for once, we didn't make the mistake of doing it on a Tuesday. We had collected the information to solve the coordinates of this Multi several weeks ago and just needed the opportunity to wander and find it. It was dark, and the path had no lighting, but we found the cache without too much trouble. We stamped the log and carefully returned the cache and the camo to their places. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache suss vulture.
I love love love multi caches! I’m not very adept at puzzle caches yet, so multi caches allow me the chance to solve somewhat of a puzzle!
I’m a local and every year at Christmas time I take the family for a drive to admire Christmas lights and this one is always included. I had never been up close and read the info before though. So that was fascinating! TFTC

Good find today. Coordinates proved it was a little difficult but in the end very satisfying

Our first multi cache! Loved using the clues to find a great collection of quality tradeables. TFTC!!
Day 2 of a dedicated geo-weekend away with Kestal and Scratches...after a massive day ticking off all kinds of boxes to fill this leap day we realised we still needed a multi. We decided on this one and quickly did the calculations. All good with this one - our last find for the day. TFTC suss vulture.
Last cache for the day. Kestal, Eskies5 and I headed to the first waypoint and read the history and got the required information. Would have been great to be here in 'the season'! Some maths was performed then GZ found and log signed. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache suss vulture
On our way to Geelong and our accommodation for the night, we stopped off here as we were yet to get a leap day multi. With calculations completed by Scratches and Eskies5 it was time to find the hide. TFTC suss vulture
Yesterday we attempted this cache and could not find any sign of it, so last night we sent a message to the CO to ask if our calculations were good or flawed. All came back as good so this morning we headed back and still came up empty.
The beautiful CO's headed out and checked the cache and indeed found that it was missing and have replaced the cache, now that is what we call service. As we were caching in the Queenscliff area today and had received a message to say the cache was replaced we called in here on the way back to the caravan. This time we came up with gold, the new cache is filled with loads of great goodies so we left a pathtag to add to the container. A favorite from us. SL TFTC

# KRIS KRINGLE HAS BEEN RAIDED! #
Following yesterday's DNF, we came here today to check out Kris Kringle. Well, the cache was well and truly gone and the area of GZ taken apart.
We have replaced the container, added some swag and a new logbook, and hidden it about 48 meters away from the previous final.
The info board remains the same , and your maths task has been updated.
PLEASE, re-hide carefully after signing the log! This is the second time the cache went missing (first time round, it was found in a random place in the open and returned to its home!). Since it is the season now, we have decided to give it another go. Third strike - it will be archived.

I was really looking forward to finding this one but I should've dressed more appropriately. It was a hot day, it is very bushy here and and I did not want to look around in the grass while wearing shorts, I don't fancy getting bitten by a snake. I hope to come back and look again, maybe in winter haha.
With Mrs Perpetuallylost keen on attending any markets while we were staying on the Bellarine, a quick search on the Google and there was one in Queenscliff this morning. When we arrived here of course i had to check if there were any nearby caches and this multi just happened to be over the road!
So Mrs Perpetuallylost and daughter headed into the market and i made a beeline to the starting coordinates where i quickly worked out a final not far from here.
After a walk around checking out the wares it was time to head off for the final. Our first entry was a failure as the route we chose ended up being completely overgrown and impassable.
A walk around the corner for another access point turned favourable and we soon had this great size cache found. The family loved checking out the swaps while i signed the logbook and we were back on our way.
Thx suss vulture for a great cache to start the day for us. Cheers

I have recently taken a redundancy after 29 years working for the same company. Now I have a few extra hours of free time while I take a short break before getting back into the workforce. I have decided to attempt multi month with that extra time. Given that today after a medical for my next income stream I headed down to the peninsula to find the multi's down here.
This was the first of today's finds. I have been down this way during the Christmas and have spotted this tree in it full glory. When the numbers were done I was curious whether my shoe choice may get me in trouble but that wasn't the case with a path all the way.
Thank you suss vulture for a nicely set out multi

We enjoyed learning about the history of the Point Lonsdale Christmas Tree. Data collection was straightforward. From there it was a short walk to GZ where accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a boldly hidden cache which blended so well into the immediate environment. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks suss vulture for the cache. It earns a favourite from us for the bold hide of a large cache.
Well I have been looking at this one for a while. Now that we are camping nearby I have the chance to have a go. After locating the first wp and doing the maths off we go to locate GZ.
I did notice in a previous log a hint that did help in moving along the correct path.
Found this giant container without too much trouble and signed the log and replaced as found.
The cache is in great condition. Thanks for placing yet another hide for us.
Cheers.

Second multi of the day. Really cool concept. Had the wrong idea with one of the numbers. Derrr. Took nothing left nothing. First in point Lonsdale. Tftc
After a couple of miss calculations and searching the wrong zone, the correct calculations were made and the correct trail found.
Change of pace, just like the weather here. Over all the trads along a trail, time to take it slower and examine some local history. This tree must look spectacular at Christmas time - a great Community focal point. Gathered all the numbers and set off for GZ. Clouds are looking threatening, but mostly fine so far. SL at 10.46am Left: Wood Red racer TB - it would make a great present, but it is supposed to keep travelling, so abide by the rules! #5710 TFTC suss vulture and for showing us this local icon.
Even though it was raining it was still a nice walk and a fun easy find! Love all the goodies, it was hard choosing one
Beautiful sunny day for a walk toward the cache after collected the clues.
Enjoy found the hiding treasure out there.
Thanks suss vulture for bring me here and multi cache.

While waiting for the Driver to finish socialising at the LEGO Exhibition I noticed this cache started near the hall and decided to get my first cache for the day here. Of course the finding device led me to the wrong Norfolk Island pine, then I had to virtually retrace my steps to the final I was led astray finding this too, until I read that you don’t need to go off track. So I retraced my route again until I found a dirt track that led me in the right direction. I found a lovely big cache well stocked with goodies but didn’t have anything to swap with and wasn’t really inclined to anyway, but it’s a great idea and great cache. A favourite point is going this way!
Find #1580 for me. Found at 7:55 am. I was on a rare beach holiday with the family so decided to take the opportunity to grab a cache or two before breakfast. After gathering the required information I made my way to GZ where I made a quick find. Wow, the container was not only large but full of good swaps for the kids! Since I'd left my own children sleeping back at the holiday house I didn't take anything except a few photos with my camera. Thanks for bringing me here this morning suss vulture and thanks for the cache!
22/09/2017 3:47:00 PM - Out looking for a cache or two with my caching friend Square_Pegs and so we stopped here to find this hidden prize after working out the required numbers. I enjoyed the walk to GZ watching the metres tick down and then discovering a well hidden, large cache. Fantastic.

This is a landmark that I have driven past previously but never seen in its full Christmas glory. It brought back memories of where I grew up, as we had a large pine in the centre of town that was also decorated with lights during the festive season. I recall being able to see for miles around on the correct approach, and always looked forward to the time of year when the decorations would go up. The walk to GZ was pleasant and a quick find was made of this nicely sized container.

Out with MaggieDot for a spot of caching today. Nice simple multi. No muggles around so we quickly found and replace cache. Some interesting swag in this cache! TFTC.
With work, holidays and injuries, it's been a while since AutumnTree and I have been out geocaching together. It was lovely to find a day when we were both free, and we headed out after school drop off. The Do You Believe In... series was first in our sights and then we collected a few more around Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale.
After finishing the Do You Believe In... series and having some lunch in Queenscliff, we had plenty of time for a few more caches before heading back for school pickup!
An interesting and straightforward multi. The clues were clear and we soon had our coordinates. Fortunately I am familiar with the area - particularly the path that does not initially appear to be a path! No need for bush bashing! AutumnTree found the generously sized cache. No swaps were made today.
Log signed and all replaced as found.

Calculated the coordinates for GZ yesterday and returned today for the search. Quick find of a surprisingly large container. SL and replaced. TFTC.
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we explored this area using geocaching as a guide. Today we tackled this multi, working out GZ was easy, but finding the access trail was not an easy task. Cache in good condition in its hidy hole.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Having previously not found the way on to this one with some other cachers a while back, I made a point of checking out where the path started and made an easy find today. That tree must have been something to see!
This started out like other caches, logical, safe and with minimal exertion.
However, I along with others (judging by the path of broken branches) tried to get to GZ via the most direct route (from the primary school playground) please, please stop if you've embarked on the same path. You can't get to GZ this way, trust me.
After working my way to a point where thick scrub confronted me in all directions I tried to turn back and then tried to go forward and then back, well you get the picture.
After pushing my way back onto the geotrail I exited back onto the children's playground, breathed a sigh of relief and then found the correct path courtesy of the nearby trad, Be-conned. Trust me when I say that is the path to take.

Find #2532. Found @ 12:30.
The family were staying nearby and The Good Lady Wife, her mother and I went for a stroll into Point Lonsdale to look at the op shop. On the way there I collected the information for both multis that we were walking past.
While waiting at the op shop, I did the calculations and we decided to collect on the way back. I noticed that we could see the tree from the main drag in Point Lonsdale, it is certainly impressive and stands out. I can only imagine how spectacular it is when lit up.
After the previous cache was a DNF, the others let me go off in search of this one while they took a bit of a breather. I made my way to GZ and had a bit of a search around before I spotted something slightly different. I like the nice bit of concealment you've done on the container hide.
I put my name in the log and had a quick look at the contents before returning to the group and back to the accommodation.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache suss vulture.

Really enjoyed this one, and learning the history of the tree that we have often seen lit across the bay from home.

Love the concept of this cache!
We had a bit of a brain fade when first setting off for GZ after getting the initial info, which had us bush bashing in the totally wrong spot!
Finally got on to the right path and to where the coordinates were supposed to take us.
Took us a little while to finally find the cache- not sure if it was our device or the operator!! It's amazing how deceptive this type of camo can be!
Had a chuckle while looking through some of the KK treasures- sadly nothing of equal value to trade for the Justin Bieber mug..... Ha ha
TNLNSL Thanks for the awesome cache!

While attending the market at the school with the family, when it was time to leave I stayed with Sar to find this cache while the others headed for home.
We were able to collect the information we needed to calculate the coordinates for GZ and we then headed for it.
We were looking around for some sort of track or access that looked a bit better than what we were looking at. Eventually we found the track we were looking for and it lead us straight to GZ, once there we over looked the cache at first but then realised that it was right there in front of us.

After the last log alerted us to some unusual happenings around this cache, we came to visit today and found it in its rightful home. One essential piece of camouflage was not where it was supposed to be, but it was less than a metre from GZ. Content and cache are in good order, though we did not see the last finder's log. This was made up for by a log, presumably from a muggle, who "accidentally" found it on January 11 but did not log their find online.
It is strange that this has been the second time that the container and its contents were found out in the open, seemingly nothing missing, all clean and complete. Is the ghost of the unloved Kris Kringle haunting it?
We will continue keeping an eye on this one.
By the way, the tree is STILL lit at night, a great sight to admire!

Went looking for AGES for this cache but couldn't find it! On the way back I found it opened up on a park bench quite a while away from where it's supposed to be??? I packed the box up again and returned it to where I believe is the correct spot. Took nothing left nothing! TFTC
Pity I was too late in the season to see the tree lit up in all its glory. A very interesting piece of local history. After calculating GZ from the information board I initially started off through the nearby school before realising that ended in a dead end. So after backtracking I finally spotted the hidden little track that actually led to GZ. Once there I quickly spotted the very well stocked hide and was happily signing the log. Thanks for the interesting cache suss vulture.
Came geocaching alone while my friends rented a holiday home nearby to fish! Quick did calculations and easily found the cache after a little walk! Took the cute japanese erasers and left a baymax pin! TFTC!
We solved this multi a few weeks back but ran out of time to get to GZ on that day. We were back today and with the kids starting to get excited about Christmas approaching this was the perfect cache. We noticed the lights are on the tree. We will have to make a night visit to see them on. We found the lovely little path to GZ and it wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. It is jam packed with goodies! We didn't have anything appropriate to trade so took nothing and left nothing. Thanks suss vulture for this very festive cache.
Easy find, my gps was spot on with the calculated co ordinates. Took nothing, left nothing.Container was very full. There were men nearby unloading the Christmas lights- maybe for this tree? TFTC
I am the most incapable multi cache cacher you are ever likely to not meet. I collected the clues on a walk to Point Lonsdale. On the way home I tried to access the cache from ever direction without success and eventually called it quits. This afternoon I return to the tree and recollected the clues. Did the calculation and got the same result. I tried to access the cache from the park since that was closer to my GZ but I couldn't see anything as large as what is described so I used the gallery images to check that I had been on the correct path this morning. I wandered along the path until I spotted the cache 42m from my calculated coordinate. As mentioned, I am hopeless at multis and wish groundspeak would can the style of hide and bring back virtuals. Thanks for the cache suss vulture.
After gathering the necessary information to the very easy maths especially as we didn't have a belly full of Xmas goodies today, we soon were headed for GZ along the interesting path.
Found the cache safe and sound well hidden from prying muggle eyes. We noted the cache stash still has a plentiful variety to choose from providing great swaps as Kris Kringle's. We think this is a great idea for a cache theme.
Thanks suss vulture for the multi and the great hide.

Thanks suss vulture for the multi and the great hide.
Being on the Bellarine Peninsula for a visit and being such a nice day we decided to try a few multi's.
We were short on time last visit and had trouble finding a way to GZ, to it was quite simple and we were soon there and the cache was a nice quick find.
We had no trouble sorting out the coordinates but did struggle to find the log book in the very well stocked container.
Our names were added and every thing returned as it was, we did not have any thing that was worthy of this cache so did not swap.
Many thanks suss vulture for an interesting multi and a great sized cache, a favorite point from us.

This wonderful Xmas tree was always the cause of much excitement amongs the small fry as we headed to Pt Lonsdale for the summer holidays, and as we came over Marcus Hill there were cries of.'I can see the Xmas Tree'. We always went for a night time walk to,admire it close up, so it was interesting to learn a little more of its history, and the walk to GZ, a lovely secluded bit of bush TFTC suss vulture
I have often seen this tree lit up over the Christmas time. Now I also know the story. Thanks for placing this cache.
Great idea. Love the idea of exchanging gifts. Left some pencil erasers from Japan.
TFTC.

This is the first day of our little foray across the bay. Good little multi just to get rid of the cobwebs and get us in the mood. Cache found in good condition after a round-a-bout treck.

AFter a nice sleep in this morning, which doesn't happen often, we decided to come down to Pt. Lonsdale which we haven't ever visited before as a family. We saw that some markets were on, so what better way to enjoy a sunny Sunday than to walk around, have some samples enjoy some good food and a yum yoghurt. While we sat under the cool of a tree, I went to grab the details needed for this multi. I came back to our picnic and worked out where we needed to be while finishing our lunch. A quick walk and after a few minutes later this cache hide was in our hands. Some great swaps here but we didn't trade. Stamped and returned as found.
