TftcAfter the recent weather, I suppose it wasn't the best day to do some caches along this trail. Another track I opted to walk as this one was a bit overgrown. Gps was a bit jumpy at this one, so took me longer to find but got it in the end. Log was wet but signable.

TFTC I loved watching Hayley wave her hands around at the bugs. Too funny. We decided to stop near the road and walk because we took the Princess Suzuki and not Betty we are thinking this was a bad idea.

13-Dec-15
Well both team nurse and I were excited to take a crack at these caches and thought oh yeah she'll be right we can take my car..... No not a good idea lol my car could only go so far so couldn't complete the series.... Next time we will take team nurse car "Betty" as she is the caching car, TFTC Browngang:)

Apparently we are second here today. Great to test out the 4wd

31-May-15
Got to test out my new baby (rav4) on this one-well, geohubby did all the driving I just navigated. Couldnt find the sign for the trail but followed GPS location and we were almost on top of it.
A fast find by me, log was signed, stickers dropped and cache returned within a matter of minutes.

31-May-15
It's been 2 years since we started this series and at the time had neither the time nor the vehicle to finish it. Today we have both and depending on how the road is after rain we intend to go as far as we can. This was quickly found by an eagerly obliging iphone (sometimes its not), code recorded and we were back on the trail. TFTC Browngang.

23-May-15
really good hide. but got really rough after this. We suggest you go back to the road you came on. DO NOT KEEP GOING FORWARD FROM GZ. There is a tree across the road & the original road seems to be much shorter too. The pencil needs sharpening, glad we had a pen with us. We are going to bring a pencil sharpener with us from now on. well done Browngang.

We couldn't spot the marker for the 18/19 trail, we did drive down the trail until we arrived at a couple of speed humps that we didn't want to get stuck on as they had a steep drop off on the far side. Mrs Shifter located this one after about 30 seconds while Mr Shifter turned the car around to head back out.
Thanks for the adventure in the area Browngang.

Called in on a maintenance run. No probs.
Upped the terrain by .5 Some might have to walk 100m or more due to the poor condition of the track.

05-Jan-14
Okay, the rats haven't been to this one, but it seems the Forestry crew have been wanting to make it Terrain 2 access, and making a few berms on the way that are good for bike jumps.
Picked up a few more golf balls at home just in case something matched, and sure enough I had one that matched 'x', so left one.
Discover Me Tag thru.

# 4517. Robmc and I managed 5 of these today as we made our way from South West Rocks to Lorne. Another little series with clues collected that will need to be finished some other time. We were stopped in the geomobile by a large speed hump across the track so we walked to GZ from the hump. Soon found the cache, noted the clue, added our name and now on to # 5. TFTC

A day's travelling with few caches down the coast with Bettyboo.
Recent signs that the loggers have been through this area. They are buggers for suddenly making new roads and removing perfectly good hides!
Some of the mounds on the road were getting a bit high so we walked the last bit.
Thanks, Robmc.

02-Nov-13
With a Saturday with nothing to do we thought we would check off a couple of these, we'll the ones you can get to without a 4x4 anyway, still we found some hairy tracks though. The forest has never been the same out here since the logged it. Once I get hold of a 4x4 and some time I will get around to the rest. Thanks to Cadet Kelly on the GPS.

I am beginning to warm to this cache trail after the madness of the first two finds Smile
Cairncross forest is so quiet and beautiful.
I can see the top of Mount Cairncross occasionally as I drive between the waypoints.
But I am glad I am in the geomobile and not on the mountain bike for this series.
The temperature is starting to get [red]HOT[/red] Razz

Here at number 4 I enjoyed a short stroll up a side track to find the cache Big Grin

10-May-13
We were there today showing Team Crackers and The Drovers around and this cache could not be found. Looks like the bulldozers have been through this area and ripped out the stump!

So we decided to replace the cache in a very safe spot!

Hint: Beside double trunked tree.

10-May-13
Another enjoyable day out caching with Pprass and Team Crackers.
This was an interesting series with great history.
Original cache distroyed by machinery, Pprass contacted owner, and replaced cache in new location.
TFTC, Browngang.

10-May-13
Travelling along with The Drovers and pprass as our tour guide we pulled up here and were a bit surprised to find the GPSr was pointing to a vacant area, we could see that a lot of tree felling works had been going on in the area and after reading the hint it was quite obvious that the bulldozer driver had gone straight through gz when he pushed up a pile of rubbish. We found half a stump but no sign of the cache anywhere and The Drovers even got out a shovel and did a bit of digging to see if we could locate it amongst the rubble. Pprass rang browngang who confirmed that we were in the right place and between us we mustered up a cache and a log book and rehid it as best we could and pprass sent the owner the new co-ords. We knew the year of the penny so we have written it in the log book and on the lid of the container for future finders.
Our thanks again browngang for the cache.

MMM what to do to celebrate the last day of winter, Its almost warm enough to sit by the pool and have a few beers, but not quite yet. I will have to go Geocaching instead.
Put my geobag down right next to it, but the Iphone had me going 20mtrs elsewhere. should have checked the obvious first

Found at 12.30pm GAFF5 in the company of LHBfans. Nice to drive along these narrow tracks - someone has to keep them open don't they! Just a bit tricky to turn around.
Thanks Browngang.
