Great day for some cache hunting - what a way to see out the year! Also joined by some curious boys in the field next door. First find under his own efforts for father ZL3AQT on our joint adventures.
StreetWalkerNZ and I are taking the scenic route from Chch to Timaru, where we are spending Labour weekend. What huge gates, I parked too close and had to reverse to open the gates! A bumpy ride later (SW volunteered to drive this bit) and we were at GZ. I went through the gate, while SW stayed on the other side, but I was able to suggest a spot for him to search and there was the cache. TFTC.
#23155. It was a slow, bumpy drive down the alley. Thankfully there was plenty of room to turn round at GZ, and the cache was quickly found. TFTC.
Had to have a go at finding this one its been a while. We walked down with hundreds of eyes watching us and many inquisitive faces close to the fence.A quick search of a couple of likely places and the found it word was soon heard. Cache all good waiting to be found again. Thanks
Found on a geo hunt around pleasant point on a beautiful Saturday. Easy find after a bumpy drive down the track. TFTC
been past the access gate many times meaning to go down the alley, but lack of time has always got the better of us until today....nice easy find, but beware of electric fence wires pretty close to the cache....TFTC
Missed the gate and had to turn back. Had a heart in mouth moment when going down the track towards the cache. Hit a rutted muddy piece of 'road' had to put the foot to the floor and hope the cachemobile made it through! It did, but thought I was going to get stuck, the old CRV is awesome! Cache in good order. TFTC.
I decided today was a good day just to get in the car and just go for a drive .no caching just drive. I got to pleasant point and just had to look up the closest non smiley and this one was it a nice cache site I walked 1km along the track to try and get access to the river but it looked as if the track just kept going and go8ng so turned around and headed back to the car. thank you for bringing me out here and a favourite from me because I actually enjoyed finding this cache ... photo is the deer across the road TFTC favourite
Our last in this area for a while. Nice one to finish on. Walked right on down. Steers thought we were going to feed them so they followed. Nice hide and a beaut for fishing I'll be bound. Thank you.
This one is easy to miss unless you know the public access is there. We accessed the area after a short muddy walk and made the find after some searching. The previous hint still shows up for some reason but GJ expanded the search and made the find. Thanks for the placement!
Cache is still there. Just buried under a good amount of dirty for some strange reason. Was worried we wouldn't find it but a good dig around helped.
first of the day unfortunately all there was, was a clear indentation where the container had been
An interesting drive down the alley which doesn’t look to get a great deal of use. The nearby cattle exhibited their usual curiosity to their visitors. TFTC
quick walk to cache, last for day. call it 15/15 as 2 caches had too many muggles camping to even bother looking. Now home for Tea.
No sheep today, but one lone bull eyeing me from close to gz. He took off when I got out of the car, thankfully. Little Bairdys were amused with Mum jumping in and out of the car to open and shut gates. Put in 2 tiny cars for swaps. TN SL. Of note to others, watch out for a sudden, hidden, ditch about halfway between the 2nd and 3rd gates. Kids loved that too....was a good test of my suspension! TFTC
4017. What intricate fencing and gate work. The farmer has certainly worked this out very carefully so his stock will be safe from geocachers!
Thanks
