Lovely walk on a nice Autumn day. Putting in a wrong digit didnt help ! Forgot to Mimis. Just as well I took pics of all the WPs.Thanks
Enjoyed wandering around here today - always meant to visit after mum passed away a few years ago & we were invited here but unable attend. Such a wonderful idea. TFTC
How cool is this place! Another gem discovered while caching. Numbers sorted after a nice walk counterclockwise. Took me longer than I care to admit to find the cache. The lid is indeed missing but the container and log are intact and dry.
Checked on the cache. Despite the lid missing, it is dry and secure in its location.
20:30 The gate was indeed closed as it was getting late, but I happened to step over it by accident Quite nice to walk through in the dark and listen to all the bird calls around. No problems finding the answers and the final was soon calculated. Deja vu!Container needs a change as it's lost its lid.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, TikvaNZ!#9890
A nice wander around the reserve. Didn't take long to find the information at each location and the cache was just as easy. Thanks TikvaNZ

The cache was found in the nearby ditch and replaced in the adjacent structure. Magnets are not very strong so it may fall again, suggest maintenance. No problems gathering waypoint data; TFTC
5 February 2023 10:33 TFTC TikvaNZ for placing this cache, number 12317 for me.
I have awarded a FP as I enjoyed revisiting this reserve (last time I had the rest of the family). It was also much drier today.... And it's amazing how much more the vegetation has grown!
I left WP2 until last, the access route to this is easily spotted from the far end of the reserve. I then sat down to work out where I really needed to be, a very logical spot. Cache soon found and signed, giving me a multi cache for the day, and a DNF avenged.

Came for a bit of a walk to collect this, after doing most of the ground work on a previous visit. I had noted a number wrong which had given me a bad final, so with that tidied up, I quickly located the cache... I see what you did there with the final... reminded me of a now archived multi in Hamilton. Thanks Tikva. #3735
On a weekend caching mission to qualify for another GLSC licence.
On my way home to Nelson this morning. Here to collect the CANZ cache so I just “had” to complete this Multi while I was here. A lovely wetland. DOC and the local groups have done a brilliant job. Thanks for the tour. +FP

I'm down from Whangarei with fellow team G0LD members: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ. We've got a busy few days collecting mostly puzzles.
Today we managed to get a few traditional caches around Auckland airport while we were waiting to drop our car at the park and ride. We were then very pleased to pick up 10 AdLabs after going through security.
We arrived in Christchurch, picked up the car, dropped our gear off and headed out. We cached around the area we were staying and collected about 12 caches.
This was one we grabbed as we explored the reserve. Thanks to a previous finder in the group the waypoints we couldn't get to weren't needed. Thanks for the multi

Team G0LD are down from Northland on a mission to Christchurch for a few days. After arriving late-ish in the afternoon, we just had to make use of the nice weather ( it's been real grotty in Northland recently ) and find a few caches before heading for our accommodation.
Visited this reserve for another important target cache this afternoon and managed to get enough info to also complete this multi at the same time, despite some of the track being decidedly damp ... TFTC

Came out here to do this multi for a challenge we are attempting. Never knew this little gem was here. A very enjoyable walk to gather the required info. The log was wet and slimy but have left in cache for you. We added a write in the rain paper replacement log in a small plastic bag and added it to the cache. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot, the ,ulti and the cache TikvaNZ.
Found it and had lots of fun finding the clues. Beautiful spot for a walk. Unfortunately the log is very wet so we couldn't sign it.
Flew in this morning for a long weekend. Enjoyable walk on a Friday morning off work. Lots of working crews here but information and cache collected without hassle. No pukekos seen tho. TFTC a mice multi and walk.
Quick find of the final after a walk around the park. Such a lovely spot considering it is surrounded by busy roads. Not a pukeko was spotted, though.
this was a nice walk, the place is a bit noisy with all the highways around, but it is beautiful. We enjoyed our walk, and to make the walk even more enjoyable, we discovered a kiwi guardian post! That was a great surprise (I didn't remember there was one around) Coords were quite easy to grab and final was all good, both container and logbook were in good conditions. thanks for taking us around!
Today was a brilliant sunny afternoon, and we finally enjoyed a walk in the wetland. It is a gorgeous spot; the only detraction being the noise of the motorway. As others have remarked there is a little problem with D, which should really read: "The difference between the years _divided by 2_ less the sum of digits in the last year". Having done the sums the cache was quickly extracted. The log was a sodden mess, so we have replaced both log and plastic bag. TFTC!
Finally found it after a little trouble with D. Using the second digit of the answer worked for us.
Some dodgy numbers but reading previous logs sorted it out. Nice idea and nice walk. Pity about road noise and closed boardwalk.
Time to head home after another weekend in the big city but not before grabbing a few more caches ..
Third time in two weeks I have been here (twice today) after getting the numbers last week with nothing to show for it had to check with Co if coords were right ...clearly not!!?
One number is all it takes but finally after a paf and a nudge in the right direction I just had to make a detour as I was leaving...
Finally a nice quick find great wee spot deserve a fav for the location tftc

I have visited this place a few times and decided to try this one. D is confusing and previous logs were correct. The log has been wet but has dried out now. Gz gave me a feeling of déjà vu funny that. TFTH
What a cool multi.
I had no idea this place existed until the little orange circle showed itself on the map.
So, a quick tour of the waypoints, all info gathered and for once correct the first time through, then I lucked out because my chosen end point was handy to the cache.
TFTC TikvaNZ - my second of the day.
Will attach some photos.
A few days in the Christchurch area catching up with family in the Easter/ANZAC break and doing a bit of impromptu caching. Today’s targets were on the northern entrance and out by New Brighton.
Thanks to all COs.

I came out here for a walk around a few days ago and ran out of time to do the calculations/ find the final.
Returned today on my way to the airport to see the Crusaders v Hurricanes in Wellington - anither lovely Christchurch day.
Thank you for highlighting this lovely Reserve, TikvaNZ. An FP from me.

@1000
Checked. As mentioned by others, waypoint 2 had disappeared. In actual fact it has been moved away from the (closed) boardwalk to another location on the loop track so I have updated the coords for WP2. There is now no need to access the closed boardwalk. Overall the terrain is more like a 2, but could still be doable by wheelchair (half the loop track is on mown grass).

Nice enjoyable visit in a place I've never been to before. The boardwalk was the highlight, even though it was closed and I didn't venture across the submarine part. As others noted, the board for B and C is missing, but it's not hard to work out what they should be. And I also successfully used the second digit for D. Nice quick find. TFTC.
There are a lot of interesting reserves around Christchurch - we'll have to make it a retirement project to do all the walks. But this one is easy to get to from the main road and has a toilet and a picnic table, plus a couple of caches. Didn't fancy wet feet so opted out of investigating the "closed" boardwalk. Instead we just strolled along the gravelled path to the seats and back. What a lovely spot to be. As we ate lunch, realised that the information from half the signs indicated a likely spot - aha, there it is, we don't have to leave empty handed after all. Thanks for showing us this hidden gem - we will be back!
Great loop around collecting the required information. Could not locate the second board or even any remains/signs of it, the one along the boardwalk itself that was supposed to provide two numbers, so i was a little doubtful whether I will be able to get all the info needed for the final. I anted to avoid the line of cars through Rangiora at this time of the afternoon, so I pressed on and collected the other numbers that were all easily located. Then I realised that the two missing numbers could only be one of two sets, so working out the final coords was easier than expected. Lovely place to visit for sure, thanks for taking me around!! TFTC!!
We came prepared with our gumboots for this walk after reading through the logs and glad we did as the boardwalk was underwater in areas. Loved this reserve which we wouldn't have discovered without geocaching despite often driving past. We went the wrong way at the start following the trail sign to the south of the carpark along which must be a new track to replace the closed boardwalk section but managed to get around all the waypoints with a bit of backtracking at the end. A quick find at GZ - TFTC - such a lovely spot for a multi!
Went to GZ after getting coordinates but a new feature been constructed and not sure if this has removed cache. DNF.
What a fun wander with the kids, they had a great time looking at the birds and seeing how close the water was to the board walk in places. Lots of little places for them to hide and "scare" the parents. Cheers
Reserve closed due to flooding of the boardwalk but with all the weeks of fine weather I knew they would be ok. Really enjoyed my wander round the reserve and collecting all the numbers - lovely and peaceful having the place to myself. TFTC TikvaNZ
You do have a sense of humour, TikvaNZ! D was a problem briefly until I read one if the logs. Had figured I'd use that digit anyway. The hints for Living Legend sign aren't needed now as the sign is back. Thanks for bringing me out for a walk this way. Boardwalk was absolutely fine. I think they could unlock the gate but we cachers ignore obstacles like padlocks anyway! Tftc!
Daughter and I came for a walk around here today. We dodged around the locked gate and proceeded along the "closed" boardwalk. After all the warm weather recently it was all dry and made for a very pleasant stroll.
We gathered all the info as we walked round and used the previous finder's method to figure out D. This gave a reasonable final GZ and daughter made a quick find when we got there. TFTC.

Needed this 'O' cache for the October spelling challenge so decided to go for it - closed boardwalk or no closed boardwalk! I could see where it had been flooded - dry frog porridge all over the path. In one spot it wasn't even dry (slippery there). It didn't take long to get all the info (& the other caches in the area) and then to find the cache (I had a grin at the GZ).
A note to the CO: the sign for Living Legend is back, you no longer need to give away those answers. Also, it seems Sonia is correct re: D. Suspect you mean it to be the second digit of the two digit answer.
TFTC and the lovely walk in the sun. Fav point from me.

Checked on this today. The boardwalk is officially closed at the southern end due to 'flooding'. No signs at the northern end. Today it was all dry except for a short slippery section. Best done in summer it seems. Talked to DOC workers. No immediate plans to upgrade the boardwalk - waiting on finances.
My third visit to get the smiley. Serious flooding twice, but today was the day - - - Yay, signed and sealed with a hint from the CO also! TFTC and taking me to this lovely place.
My first day back in New Zealand after my trip to Latin America. I needed to stay awake in order to get over jet lag, so what better to do than go geocaching! This one wasn't too far from home so JD and I made it our first stop. We had a nice stroll around in the hot sunshine and gathered all the necessary info. Got a bit delirious and took a few wrong paths but we got there in the end. Tftc and for the nice multi.
Out caching with Injeanious today, we might have had to walk in circles a few times as we missed one of the points. We initially calculated the co-ordinates wrong but looking back through the logs - especially Sonia's log, we recalculated and found the cache easily. Thanks for the adventure!
Cache number 211. Nice wee adventure. After failing at a bit of basic biology (I have an honours degree in biochemistry) and reading a few logs to get the number for D I had a location. Surely this has to be a mistake? Nope. There it was . TFTC
nice and easy multi. the numbers didnt match up... read some previus logs. especially D is weird... found a hint in the logs. tried some combinations on paper since I found one that made perfect sense.... and there it was....
For some reason missed the plague so backtracked for the confusing maths. wish we had read the logs!!! But we did come up with an answer that made sense so tried that but no joy even though it seemed we were in the right area. After widening search area and having one last look came up trumps . TFTC
BBear44 and I drove out here after the CITO. We had attempted this multi before so wanted to finish it today. Luckily we were able to. It's a nice area to walk and geocache in.
Had a lot of the info from the last attempt, but unable to get the last few, so Nosynel and I headed this way after the CITO in the hopes we could get there this time......YES. thanks for a nice multi in lovely surroundings.
Out tonight with the sole purpose of collecting smilies from the reserve. Lovely spot and a tree is out here somewhere for our mother and grandmother. Got a bit stuck on D but checked previous logs and soon had it sorted. Great night for a walk.
Well I have efficient Crood cache hunters who took matters into their own hands exploring every nook and cranny they ventured past. So this was a very quick find before all clues answered as Crood L was on the prowl and grab it. Tftc
Such a lovely day for a stroll around the reserve and picking up the answers for this multi. Kids enjoyed answering all the questions and we even answered stage 4 before we got to the bottom and saw the answers there!!! Phew we got it right though We did struggle with 'D' but luckily we read Sonia's log as suggested, try the cords and saw where the final was!!! Had a big laugh and then went off to retrieve it. Yes, another multi found and a very enjoyable walk too. TFTC
TFTC! Nice multi, which led us all around the wetland. The boardwalk is dry at the moment - no need for gum boots - and even the living legend plaque is back.
After completing my saturday chores it was time for a family walkabout and this was handy to where we needed to head afterwards. I was a bit nervous about the conditions with two toddlers in tow but there was nothing to worry about no one got wet feet and it was easy walking the whole way. All of the required information is now back with a new sign replacing the missing one. I did struggle with D but used Sonia's log to get the right number and when at GZ I chose the wrong place to look and got a nasty cut on my finger. Miss 4 quickly had the cache in hand and described what fun she had had. Thanks for a great family multi.
Couldn't find it as the path leading to B and C coordinates cordoned off due to flooding on the path. Shame as we managed to find all the others.

Today was one of 17 remaining days when I need to find at least 2 caches on that day, rather than one, so that I can bring my calandar up to being filled in 4 times over by early Nov!! Getting close!! (I had over 35 days to go at the start of the year...)
Had been meaning to come out this way for a while - I also drive past here twice a day! But I'd never quite got round to it!
Today made the effort, and made a specific plan to stop here! I had the gummies in the car luckily, and made the wonder.
I still struggled with D, despite update - I got a 2 digit number?!! So was very confused!! Ended up taking guesses, and entering them all into my GPS - one of them made sense more than all the others, and that's when I realised, perhaps CO meant to say second digit of that number you get?? Because no matter how many times I worked it out, it was always 2 digits! But the 2nd was right.
Almost hit myself when I found out where cache was
I do think the terrain should be upped - it's been dry for a while, yet water was still well above my ankles, entire half of pathwayis super slippery, and it doesn't look like this is on DoC's to fix list anytime soon! And if yes, they'll have to replace the entire platform, this one is irreparable... so could be a bit higher terrain! Haha.

Visited & checked this today. The boardwalk was flooded for much of the way and therefore very slippery. I managed to get around with dry shoes by walking on the sides. Gumboots would be recommended. When the water level is high, the terrain is higher than stated and care is required. Checked the plaque for D and a new one had been installed, so updated the question. Added another log sheet.
worked all letters bar D. So had a search among the trees several days ago. Then had a think and searched on way nack from welcom to chch3. Today after another think of D went towards a spot in middle of swamp looked at object above ground and foundit attached. D needs sorted so we dont have to quess a number 0-9. Tftc
Needed a Multi O so have had my eye on this one for a while. Was on our way here last weekend when the car started to splutter and the engine light came on so abandoned then. Managed to head around the reserve today picking up the info (Missing sign noted for WP 4 is back) and had no problem with high water. A little surface water on the boardwalk in a couple of places but only just. Managed the little fiddle to D and before I really started to home in I thought "I wonder" and yep went right to it. Good to get this one as a smiley and good to have another jaunt around this reserve as I am sure I have been here before it looked too familiar. TFTC
Walked all the way around this reserve but the wrong way I think! Some of the track was shut due to earthquake damage. By the time I managed to get around the dog was covered in swampy water - he loved it but I was ready for a cuppa! So will try again another day.
I visited the reserve this evening to see what progress had been made. Officially access to way point 2 is still closed off, but is possible. Parts of the board walk are still under water - expect wet feet and it may be slippery so take care. Approaching from the north is easier. I recommend visiting outside normal working hours. Currently the terrain level is definitely higher than a 1.
I visited the reserve for a lunch time walk today and managed to get to the cache. The boardwalk is still cordoned off at both ends, but I ignored the tape and and carefully made my way. Some was still under water (gum boots essential) and it was very slippery in places. The water level was obviously at least half a metre above where it is now. The cache is perfectly ok in its secure hidey-hole, but one of the waypoints is officially inaccessible. Trees had fallen at the northern end of the boardwalk and these are still being chopped up and removed. The terrain level at present is more like 3.5, rather than the usual 1, so I'm disabling this until the water has receded further and the boardwalk is officially open.
Sadly we were unable to get the last bit of info off the board as it is under water and closed off at present, will keep the info and complete during the summer months. We enjoyed the part that we could get too.
Didn't take too long to get the answers for this multi, however, the cache eluded me one I got to my calculated final GZ. I see other cachers had the same issued with the answer for D. no matter what I did I just couldn't get a likely GZ. Contacted a previous finder who assisted with the final location. The answer for D needs to be checked perhaps. For future finders, if you subtract 2 from the number you've worked out, will probably get you pretty close to the correct number. Thanks for the cache.
After the CO put us right on the correct number for D, we just had to come back to make the find even though we had completed our 10 day multi streak yesterday. Nicely tucked away and a quick find for StreetWalker. Now we have an eleven day multi streak! TFTC.
#6995. Day 11 of our 10 day multi streak. We had visited this one earlier in the streak to be well prepared for other days of the streak. Changes to a sign meant we got the wrong coords; and later the CO was happy to give us the correct digit. Called in on our way north, and with the right coords it was a quick find. TFTC.
We don't think we had the correct final co-ords as it looks like the plaque for the Bishopdale rambler has changed - there are 2 dates not one now.
Hmmm. Thought I had it right but couldn'tfind. Will come back another time for another crack.
Found after a lap with the kids. Had to guess D since I think the plaque may have been updated recently.
Thought this would be a good place to go for a stroll on a bleak wintery day. Thought we had all the numbers right, and the coords seemed to lead us to the logical spot, but no cache. We'll be back to try again.
Very nice walk. The weather wasn't so nice, but we saw our favourite pukekos and they made us smile. We loged quickly after correcting small mystake. TFTC
I had some time up my sleeve and was foiled by the stop bank to McLeans Island Road being closed for repairs until Sping 2013. So I have seen this one zip by on the GPSr so many times now I just had to stop. I ran around the reserve and grabbed the information and the other cache in the area and was sitting at the last wp in 15mins. I must have miscounted something as I plugged in the numbers it pointed me at a likely spot. I spent the next 20mins fruitlessly searching for a micro. Hmm, something is amiss. I trolled through the logs and noticed a few PAFs were on the find list and tried one. Thankfully, they remembered the final location and I was unfortunately 30m off!!! I was glad for my PAF. I made it back to the correct GZ and made 'a quick find'. Lovely spot and I'll be bringing the family back for a wander. The birds, flora and water makes for a spectacular spot. The mist made it look very enchanting also. Good fun.
Thanks for the cache.

As we were passing through the area, it would've been rude not to complete this multi. We stopped for a bit of a wander through this lovely area. The water had been quite high. Multi instructions were easy enough to follow. TFTMC

After having problems creating the final waypoint we were finally on the right track. Nice day out with Sheldon and Emma. TFTC
Another amazing spot I never would have seen if it hadnt been for geocaching. I must have driven past here countless times without realizing this little gem was here. I had the place to myself as I went from waypoint to waypoint. Cheers TikvaNZ for the cache and for bringing me here.
I have been meaning to visit this walk for some time, many thanks for the carrot.Liked the twist to the final,TFTC
Did this a few weeks ago when cache was disabled. Finally went back today to sign log now that it has been re-activated.
Nice little walk around the reserve to start off the breaking-in process of my new caching boots. Now found 2 caches with the new boots. Thanks for the caches.
Thanks to NZMorri, I was advised that the sign is now back in place. So today I replaced the cache, and rechecked all the waypoints. All good to go.
The sign at WP1 has been vandalised & stolen, so I have to disable this cache until it is replaced.
Was all going well walking about until the reeds starting rusting as a big animal was coming though. I did wonder if it was an ECAN worker or something but it turned out to be two ugly wandering dogs. Was a little worried but after I swore at them and they barked at me they ran off the other way. Did have the heart beating a lot.
A lovely walk during a sunny autumn day. There was a lot more water under the boardwalks than my previous visits before the earthquakes. The traffic noise is also a lot more noticeable these days. Loved seeking out the WPs and the info contained there. Thanks for setting the cache up.
TFTC. Thanks to TikvaNZ for constructing this lovely multi. I have driven past here while on the motroway for many years and had no idea this treasure being nurtured here.
